On November 20, 2019, the Ivano-Frankivsk Academy of Ivan Zolotousty hosted a Regional Student Scientific Conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the legalization of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church "Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in the second half of the twentieth century in Ukraine: underground, legalization, formation." The conference was supported by the Archbishop and Metropolitan of Ivano-Frankivsk UGCC Volodymyr Viityshyn and the Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk. Frankivsk Ruslana Martsinkiva. The conference was co-organized by the Ivano-Frankivsk Academy Ivan Zolotousty, Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University, Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, King Danylo University.

ОСОБЛИВОСТІ ЖИВОПИСНОЇ МАНЕРИ МИХАЙЛА ДЕЙНЕГИ

Mykhailo Deineha is a prominent artist, painter, weaver, and professor. His creative output includes more than a hundred paintings, each of which is unique. The artist has dedicated more than 30 years to his favorite craft. Mykhailo Deineha is a man of high culture and diverse talents. For many years, he has held the position of director of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Art Museum and for more than 10 years he has been professor at the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. His broad experience and strong academic background that he gained while studying at the Lviv National Academy of Arts contribute to the ability of the artist to create freely. No limitations exist for Deineha in his work, he is not tied to specific plots or techniques. He is constantly experimenting, looking for new ideas and forms. Among the genres in his creative work are most often abstract works and landscapes, sometimes portraits and still lifes. Nature is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for the artist. That is why he often goes to open airs, during which he experiences new feelings and tries to focus on his feelings and emotions. This process is integral to his creative approach, because association is the pillar of all Deineha's works. The associative series become key in the form making, and color is the main means of expression in his works. The artist pays considerable attention to color combinations, because he believes that color is the main factor in creativity after emotions and impressions. The color scheme in the works of the artist is always complex and saturated, and the palette is extremely rich. Although Deineha often likes to use local colors and contrasting combinations, he has a very subtle sense of painting, which is immediately noticeable in his paintings. This is how Mykhailo Deineha’s unique style of work developed — associative painting. This approach implies a clear transmission of associations by the author and a mandatory understanding of the work by the viewer. The work should not be extremely realistic, may have a somewhat simplified character and form, the general features may even be abstract. However, if the author painted the canvas under the impression of mountain landscapes, it will be read immediately and the viewer will be able to feel it for himself.

SPECIAL ASPECTS OF THE EFFICIENT DAILY ROUTINE OF STUDENTS AT MODERN EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS OF DIFFERENT TYPES

The aim of study is special aspects of the efficient daily routine of students at modern educational institutions of different types, and its influence on psychophysical functions, adaptive abilities, the quality of life as well as the state of mental and somatic health of the youngsters. Materials and methods: While studying special aspects of the daily routine of students at modern educational institutions and their influence on the state of physical and mental health, the young people were observed in five modern educational establishments in Ivano-Frankivsk: Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Ivano-Frankivsk Finance Commercial Cooperative College named after S.Granat, Ivano-Frankivsk music school named after Denis Sichinskiy, Ivano-Frankivsk Vocational Motor Transport and Construction Lyceum № 15, Ivano-Frankivsk boarding lyceum for gifted young people from rural areas. 300 students were observed (150 female students and 150 male students). The study analyzed their educational conditions, daily routine tension, and activities during breaks, special aspects of leisure arrangements, amount of time spent on homework, subjective assessment of the level of tension of the educational process, and their projected influence on the health state of students by using static models. Results: Received results of the assessment of sanitary and hygienic conditions under which training takes place at modern educational institutions of different types, as well as conditions of after school activities of the students, by applying common methods to evaluate illumination level, microclimate, and air quality have revealed that the youngsters' conditions at modern educational institutions are marked by absence of significant deviations from common hygienic requirements, they are similar and easily comparable andthat enables defensibly and illuminatively to identify main features of influence of the different psychohygienic methods on the development of health maintaining tools and the establishment of features of the formation of functional capabilities and the basic correlates of mental and physical health. Conclusions: The educational conditions of young people in modern educational establishments can be described as not having considerable deviations from common hygienic requirements, being easily comparable and enabling to identify main influence factors of different types of psychohygienic methods of developing and implementing of healthmaintaining tools on the course of formation of the functional capabilities of the body and the development of the main adaptation reactions in young males and females.

EDUCATIONAL INNOVATIONS AND TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING: TRAINING TEACHERS FOR NUS

The article highlights the relevance of the use of educational innovations in the preparation of a future English teacher to work in the New Ukrainian School. The author of the manuscript emphasizes the need to use a variety of innovative methods and best European practices in the educational process with students of Pedagogical specialties of higher education institutions; considers the numerous opportunities and new mechanisms for teacher professional growth and retraining of pedagogical staff, which include certification and a “money after teacher” mechanism. The researcher claims that the digitization of all spheres of society and the popularity of information technologies in the world have taken a prominent place in the education sector, in particular they are an integral part of teaching English all over the world at different levels. The author analyzes which innovations in the English language teaching help educators create more independent students who are motivated to learn new content and to get good learning outcomes. The article partially describes the experience of using innovations on the example of students of the Pedagogical Faculty at the SHEI “Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian national University”.

A SOWER IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION. DEDICATED TO THE 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF VASYL HRYHOROVYCH KREMEN, PRESIDENT OF THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF PEDAGOGICAL SCIENCES OF UKRAINE

The article is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Vasyl Hryhorovych Kremen, Doctor of Philosophy, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, a prominent Ukrainian scholar, statesman and science manager. It highlights his main achievements and his great contribution to the development of Ukrainian education, and the development of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, where he was awarded Honorary Doctor’s Degree.

The article discusses the strategies of spreading pedagogy of partnership, which provides for cooperation between all participants in the educational process, the presence of a com pact approach, the integration of students’ educational and social work in order to prepare them for the future life, to educate conscious citizens with a system of value orientations, to attract young people to cooperate with society, parents, teachers and the like. The attention is focused on the fact that the European experience of introducing pedagogy of partnership in small schools includes: introducing new approaches to school management, partnership between teachers and students, solving problems of schools and society, the need to participate in volunteering, searching for grants to attract young teachers who are able to work in remote regions, the possibility of distance education.It is argued that at the present stage, the understanding of the pedagogy of partnership in European countries is somewhat modified in connection with the challenges of the modern world, in particular, with the growing number of immigrants to the Nordic countries. European countries are developing educational support programs for educational partnerships. These are programs of study and professional teamwork, where specialists in various academic disciplines cooperate to achieve a common goal – equal cooperation between family and school. It is proved that in small schools in Germany, which are fairly autonomous, the experience of partnership pedagogy is unique.An assessment of the experience of the Israel school is given. There are many public organizations for collaboration between teachers and students (Pop). Here, following the principles of pedagogy of partnerships schools and organizations are provided with: professional development; leadership training; strong professionals; valuable resources; culture heals; changing approaches to teaching practice.The authors, on the basis of the studied experience, conducted a study that included the introduction of the basic principles of partnership pedagogy into the practice of small schools. The analysis showed the need for cooperation pedagogy.It is argued that the pedagogy of partnership in the educational environment of small schools of Ukraine has a chance to exist in terms of cooperation between authorities, the public, scientists, philanthropists, school leaders, the teaching community, parents, who through mediation and fundraising will be able to open grant programs, which will help to preserve the small school and village.Attention is drawn to the fact that a small school in the conditions of partnership pedagogy has the right to development subject to the initiation of partnerships. This study underlines the fact that small schools should carry out the educational process in social cooperation by involving local authorities. Of course, in urban schools such cooperation priorities are significant.Acknowledgments. ПЕРШІ РЕЗУЛЬТАТИ ТА ПЕРСПЕКТИВИ МЕТЕОРОЛОГІЧНИХ СПОСТЕРЕЖЕНЬ В ОБСЕРВАТОРІЇ НА ГОРІ ПІП ІВАН

Chornohora is the highest mountain ridge in the Ukrainian Carpathians. There are six peaks with an altitude 2000 m. a.s.l. The range is a climatic barrier for air masses along the northwest – southeast. This study is important for understanding of the physical and geographical processes in the whole region. In addition, Chornohora not sufficiently researched compared to other mountain ranges of the Carpathians. The High-Mountain Meteorological and Astronomical Observatory (HMAO) at Pip Ivan Mt. was opened on July 29, 1938. The National Institute of Meteorology (Poland) served it. Copies of the data sheets Meteorological Observations Results (pol. Wyniki Spostrzezen Meteorologicznych) from the HMAO at Pip Ivan Mt. were successfully preserved in the private collections (October 1938 – July 1939). As is characteristic of these altitudes, there was a significant dynamics of changes in weather parameters from day to day. The average monthly atmospheric pressure values were lower for the winter months than for the summer months. The average temperature at Pip Ivan for 10 months was 0.8°С. It should be noted that the total rainfall during the study period at the station was 942.5 mm. Permanent snow cover on Pip Ivan Mt. laid from December 5 to April 9. The average wind speed for 10 months was 9.7 m s-1. Before the Second World War, there was also a branch of the Astronomical Observatory of the University of Warsaw. The place is remarkable in terms of distance from light sources. However, the average cloudiness in October 1938 – July 1939 at Pip Ivan was 7.6 (on a scale of 0-10). Within 10 months, the average cloudiness less than 20% were only 18 days. This is not enough for the astronomical observatories. From the available sources, we know that during the Soviet occupation (half of 1940 to June 1941) the weather station with a wide range of research was operated at the HMAO. We did not find any original records of observations of this period in Ukrainian archives. Probably after the collapse of the USSR, data stayed at the Archives of Russia’s Federation. After the Second World War, the Observatory was abandoned and subjected to destruction of the natural environment. Nowadays the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University and the University of Warsaw are actively restoring the building of the Observatory. The modern name of the institution is the International Scientific Center “Observatory” (ISC “Observatory”). There already works 24/7 Ukrainian-Polish mountain search and rescue service. Also the following subdivisions are planned: meteorological and astronomical observations, integrated research laboratories with a wide spectrum of research on the Earth and environment, the place of practice for students and shelter for tourists. Recently (February 22, 2019) Precarpathian University signed a grant agreement: “Adaptation of former observatory on the Pip Ivan mountain for the needs of alpine rescue service training center” which includes the installation of a modern Automatic Weather Station. Within the framework of which large-scale studies are planned to measure the following parameters: atmospheric pressure (PA), air temperature (mean – TM, minimum – TN and maximum – TX), cloud cover (CC), precipitation (RR), snow depth (SD), wind speed (WS) and direction (WDu). Based on the recorded indicators of the dry and moistened thermometer and the humidity sensor, timely and average values of water vapour pressure (VP), relative humidity (RH), dew point temperature (DWPT), vapour-pressure deficit (VPD) and as well as evapotranspiration (ET) will be calculated. Also In the Observatory solar radiation instruments are preparing to install, with a large range of investigated parameters – from sunshine duration (SUD) or albedo (AL) to the measurements of ultraviolet A (UV-A) and B (UV-B). The weather station will also include the air quality monitoring system, which will measure the chemical gases in the atmosphere (e.g. O3, SO2, Nx, CO i CO2). With the support of other institutions, the range of air quality monitoring will be expanded. The location for meteorological observations in the ISC “Observatory” is unique. In terms of scientific research, we will have continuous monitoring of atmosphere elements and of the natural environment as a whole at an altitude of over 2000 m a.s.l. Meteorological research at this station is reasonable and will be the main task of the Observatory. Also, the results of the observations will have practical application from day to day, such as timely warning of avalanche danger or as a search and rescue service. Given the great importance of this mountain ridge in terms of climate, as well as to understand the physical and geographical processes in the whole region, it is worth to use comprehensive researches of its environment. Along with the observations made in other parts of the Carpathians, it will allow us to understand better the climatic features as well as the whole environment of the Carpathian regions.

ІСТОРІОГРАФІЧНІ СТУДІЇ З РЕГІОНАЛЬНИХ ТА ОРНАМЕНТАЛЬНИХ ОСОБЛИВОСТЕЙ ПИСАНКАРСТВА

The article deals with the national historiography in which problems of regional-ornamental peculiarities of easter eggs painting are highlighted. The purpose of the proposed research is the analysis of the existing sources related to the historiography of regional ornamental peculiarities of easter eggs painting as a type of decorative and applied art in general. The main task: to find out the current state and degree of study of the problem. The methodological basis is the general scientific principles and methods of research. Among them - problem-chronological, search, analysis and synthesis, generalizations that allowed to explore this issue and identify works that highlight the topics. Symbols of Easter eggs, their ornamentation and semantics have attracted the attention of researchers: F. Vovka. M. Sumtsov, M. Kordubi, K. Sherotsky, V. Scherbakovsky, A. Lyashenko for a long time. Historiographical studies of regional peculiarities of easter eggs and ornamentation of certain historical and ethnographic zones and regions are practically absent. Among the authors we can mention works by V. Tkachenko, N. Bendyuk. Consideration of ethnographic materials from Volyn on the pages of the Canadian edition "Chronicle of Volyn" is devoted to the article by V. Nadolnoy. A. Dmitrenko explores the traditional and everyday culture of this historical and ethnographic region of the second half of the 20th century, including Easter eggs. Regional historiography and sources are covered in works: M. Maslovsky - Zhytomyrshchyna; O. Yanoshchak-Pshibili – Prykarpattya; I. Dmitruk - Hutsulshchyna; O. Kozholyanka – Bukovina; V. Savchuk – Podillya. O. Khalachanska devoted her research to the symbolism of Easter eggs and its possible use in the lessons of linguistics while working with the works that paid attention to the Poltava Pysanka. Recently, many works are published in which ornamentation is explored in its various aspects. In particular, N. Lolina from Kyiv examines the development and features of the geometric ornament used in the Easter eggs. The author of the article about the abstract sign in the geometric ornamentation of the Ukrainian Easter eggs, A. Dubriva analyzes the historical and cultural preconditions of the emergence, formation and development of abstract art. A. Gotsaliuk tries to reveal the sacred role of the eggs as a protective symbol, its development from paganism and to the present, without neglecting the importance of eggs in the Christian religion. Considering the historiography of Easter eggs painting, A. Gotsalyuk notes that M. Sumtsov "first studied Easter eggs as a folk art ritual, having determined the importance and place of Easter eggs in the culture of Ukraine, paying special attention to the semantics of their ornament". In the article O. Poyannyk from the "Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University" features peculiarities of preserving the traditions of Easter eggs painting in the education of children of the Ukrainian Carpathians. Covering the historiography of the problem of ceramic Easter eggs of the XI-XIII centuries. Researcher A. Sushko notes that the greatest attention to such products was paid in the works by T. Makarova and H. Shovkoplyas. Among the researchers of the time of the Independence of Ukraine, who considered ceramic Easter eggs, she gives the names of V. Titiynuk, D. Pozhozhuka, A. Valush and V. Tkachenko. For the newest historiography a significant increase in different publications, articles, monographs, etc. is characteristic. About that not all works have and bear historiographic works of literature on art-study issues, including ornamentation of pysanka paintings, etc. Thus, the study considers the historiographic work of scientists on the study of pysanka painting and its ornamental peculiarities. It is noted that the problem of historiographical sources studies of regional pysanka painting and symbolic-semantic significance of motifs is now one of the least developed in the national historical and ethnological and art-studying science. One can confidently say only a few studies that partly claim to historiographic reviews of the study of Easter eggs of Ukraine.

Шляхи формування інформаційно-цифрової компетентності учасників освітнього процесу

In the article the meaning a competence approach to learning in modern education and relation of key and object competencies are analyzed. The attention is concentrated on the importance of forming information and digital competence for all educational process participants, which contributes to improving the level of performance of their professional and social activities. It is established that an effective and dynamic informational and educational environment is necessary for the implementation of different forms of study in a modern educational institution. Based on this, a problem of providing educational and scientific space with the necessary resources is actual and important. The possibilities of organizing informational and educational environment of an educational institution based on cloud-oriented technologies are considered. The examples of their application in different directions of educational institution activity are given. One way of solving problem of forming the informational and educational space is proposed, that is developing digital education resources and their implementation in educational process. The experience of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University is described in the example of implementation of G Suite for Education that is a suite of tools designed to empower educators and students. G Suite for Education provides wide opportunities for innovation in organizing the educational process, in general, and in creating digital educational resources, in particular. It is noted that the involvement in the process of development and testing of digital educational resources during the study gives students an opportunity to feel themselves as active players of educational activity and to be responsible for the result of this activity. The digital educational resources developed by teachers and students during the study (implementation of project, credit, exam, course and master's papers), as well as during scientific and pedagogical researches, which have been approbated and implemented in the educational process, are considered. The prospects of further experimental work are determined.

SOCIAL-STATUS ASPIRATIONS AND CAREER EXPECTATIONS OF PRECARPATIAN REGION TEENAGE YOUTH (BASED ON THE SURVEY OF STUDENTS OF GENERAL SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS)

The article is devoted to the results of the study «Value orientations of Ivano-Frankivsk’s general secondary institutions students» conducted by the Educational and Scientific Center of Sociological Research of Precarpathian region of SHEI «Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University». This research project has been supported by the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies (University of Alberta) and it has been implemented together with the Department of Education and Science of the Executive Commitee of Ivano-Frankivsk City Council in 2015. According to the research methodology, 28 Ivano-Frankivsk’s schools have been involved to the research procedure, 774 respondents have participated in this project, which accounts for 68,7 %. The statistical sampling error (with a probability of 0.95) hasn’t exceeded 1, 98 %. Additionally, the international study «Youth in the Borderlands of Central and Eastern Europe», conducted in 2015 among school graduates in some border regions of Ukraine, Poland and Hungary is been considered in the article. Data considering professional expectations of adolescents is been presented. The factors and structure of social and status preferences of adolescent youth are considered. It was found out that the social and status expectations of adolescent youth mainly relate to managerial activity, business, entrepreneurship and managerial activity of medium and high levels of management, and, in the opinion of interviewed respondents, they are personal qualities («soft skills»), that should be considered the most important proffecional skills.

Halychyna. Journal of Regional Studies: Science, Culture, and Education. Twenty Years of Publishing Activity

This is a review of the twenty-year-long publishing activity of Halychyna. Journal of Regional Studies: Science, Culture and Education, one of the first Ukrainian journals for historians, philologists, art critics that appeared in the independent Ukraine. In Halychyna, there has been published the works by well-known scholars of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University and many other higher educational establishments of Ukraine. The Journal can boast an array of sections – archaeology, history, ethnology, political science, historiography, source studies, documents and materials, culturology, art criticism, historical biography studies, and others. Most of the studies published in Halychyna focus on the issues of the modern and contemporary history of Ukraine, ethnology. A special attention is given to the issues of the Ukrainian national liberation movement in the 20th century, the Ukrainian national revival in the 19th–20th century, the activity of the political parties in Galicia in the late 19th–early 20th century, source studies and historiography in Ukraine, historical regional studies, the problems of modern state formation in Ukraine, and others

Precarpathian National Universityin the European Educational Environment

The article looks at the problem of the development of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University and the Europeanization of its education policy. The ways to improve the efficiency of research, through participation in international grant projects in particular, are in the focus of this paper. The fact that the papers by the University’s scientists are published in various SCOPUS indexed journals is evidence of the high quality and impact of their research outputs. It is an important factor in improving the University’s academic performance; it has allowed Precarpathian National University to rise to the level of the leading higher education institutions of Ukraine. The University has significantly increased its participation in various joint Ukrainian–European research projects; distinguished European scientists are invited to make presentations at the international conferences and symposiums held by the University. An ambitious project of reconstructing the astronomy observatory on Pip Ivan, a peak in the Carpathians, is being carried out in cooperation with the University of Warsaw. The Precarpathian National University has successfully implemented the double degree programme; now its students can receive the degree from Precarpathian National University and a European university. There has been developed a comprehensive programme of further Europeanization of the University’s policies

MODERN FICTION AS FACTOR OF STUDENTS’ READING CULTURE DEVELOPMENT

Nowadays there is an urgent need for the formation of students’ reading culture in a modern university. It is necessary to enhance the educational value of a book in students, who are losing their interest in reading. Fiction is gradually becoming less popular among youth (as compared to cinema and music, it ranks third). This was confirmed by the results of the research conducted in 2012 and in 2016 at the Pedagogical Institute of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University (PNU) and Pedagogical Faculty of Mukachevo State University (MSU). 78 students (majoring in Primary Education) and 30 students (majoring in Social Pedagogy) at PNU and 96 students at MSU were involved in the research. Most of the students were females. Applying such methods as questionnaires, conversations, interviewing and observations, we studied the place of fiction in the system of students’ inquiries, its role in education, as well as students’ knowledge of educational fiction. The whole complex of the methods used ensured the reliability of the research results and confirmed that students’ reading culture is an integral part of the job profile diagram of a qualified teacher/educator. The level of students’ reading culture may be enhanced in the case of implementing a specially organised system of teacher education. This system should enable students to acquire an awareness of the works by modern writers; introduce popular fiction books into students’ extracurricular activity. In our opinion, student involvement in literary societies and research centres of modern literature may facilitate the formation of literary interests among future teachers.

Cupressaceae F. Neger Family in Coniferetum of the Botanical garden of The Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University

Наведено результати встановлення таксономічного складу родини Cupressaceae F. Neger у коніферетумі Ботанічного саду Прикарпатського національного університету ім. Василя Стефаника (м. Івано-Франківськ). Здійснено оцінку успішності акліматизації деревних інтродуцентів за їх стійкістю до умов навколишнього середовища з використанням шкали ступенів успішності інтродукції. Проаналізовано ступінь життєздатності та перспективності в екоумовах ботанічного саду за допомогою методу інтегральної числової оцінки життєздатності та перспективності на основі візуальних спостережень представників досліджуваної родини.

Оцінка впливу засобів легкої атлетики на швидкісно-силові показники студентів упродовж навчального тижня

Purpose: the aim was to evaluate the influence of the athletics on the dynamics of speed and power performance of students during the school week. Material and methods: were surveyed 205 students who studied at 1–5 courses of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. Results: introduction to the process of physical education students means track and field athletics during the year resulted in positive changes in the level of development and manifestation of their physical qualities during the school week. Conclusions: studying the dynamics of speed and power abilities in students during the school year requires further study.
