Exploring the Innovative Path of Cultivating Social-Emotional Competence of Adolescents in the Digital Era

With the arrival of the digital era, the growing environment of adolescents has changed significantly, and the cultivation of social-emotional competence also faces new challenges and opportunities. Starting from analyzing the new requirements for adolescents’ social-emotional competence in the digital era, this paper actively explores the current situation and deficiencies of adolescents’ social-emotional competence cultivation and puts forward strategies and suggestions for innovating the path of adolescents’ social-emotional competence cultivation in the digital era. Through the integration of digital educational resources, the use of new media technology, the promotion of emotional education courses, and the strengthening of home-school cooperation, schools can effectively help adolescents better adapt to the social environment of the digital era, enhance their social-emotional competence, and promote their overall development.

Wykorzystanie nowych technologii medialnych przez młodzież i seniorów. Raport z badań

The Internet and new media have become an integral part of everyday life for many people, regardless of age or social status. Young people and senior citizens are two important social groups affected by the development of media technologies, although often in very different ways. People belonging to different social categories may use new technologies in significantly different ways and have different problems related to their everyday use. Therefore, the aim of the analysis in the following sections is to identify the characteristics and ways in which young people and seniors use new media technologies. The analyses of the empirical material obtained in the face-to-face interviews aimed to answer the following research questions: (RQ1) What are the ways, characteristics and problems associated with the use of new media technologies by contemporary users? (RQ2) What are the peculiarities of the use of new media technologies by young people? (RQ3) What are the peculiarities of the use of new media technologies by older people? The results of the research indicate that the ways, characteristics and problems of using media technologies are rarely shared between older and younger people, as significant discrepancies are usually revealed. In particular, the observation of the specifics of the use of new media technologies by young people indicates that for them it is a tool that is indispensable for their daily personal, social and educational needs (permanent connection). Seniors, on the other hand, recognise the benefits of technology, but at the same time value life beyond the screen.

THE IMPACT OF MODERN INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY ON UGANDAN RADIO BROADCASTING: A CASE STUDY OF CAPITAL RADIO

Media organizations in Uganda are not exempt from the media industry’s ongoing efforts to digitize its operations, particularly in developing nations. Global change is effectively sparked by the advancements in new media technologies. The method, precision, and speed of message generation and transport have all been greatly enhanced by these technologies, and they have also completely changed the definition of broadcasting. Still, in an information-overloaded world, figuring out where broadcasting fits in is getting harder and harder. The survey research approach was employed to gather pertinent data for the study in order to develop data for it. The results of the data analysis showed that the production of the station under investigation has been significantly impacted by new media technologies. Lack of technical expertise and the expense of purchasing necessary equipment continue to be major obstacles to their efficacy. According to the study’s conclusions, the government should lower the value-added tax on new media equipment as doing so will lower the equipment’s overall cost and ease the financial strain on the station. The use of new media technologies can expand the broadcasting industry’s reach and elevate Uganda’s broadcast sector to a global player. This is only possible if there are no barriers preventing the broadcast media sector from effectively acquiring new and improved infrastructure. Workshops, symposia, seminars, and training courses should all be used to try and educate current and future broadcasters. HUMAN RELATIONS AND THE USE OF NEW MEDIA TECHNOLOGY IN ORGANIZATIONAL COMMUNICATION AT PT. LANTERA SEJAHTERA INDONESIA

This research was conducted to see the influence of Human Relations and the Use of New Media Technology in Organizational communication at PT. Lantera Sejahtera Indonesia. The research method used a census method with a population of 65 people. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and questionnaires consisting of 82 questions divided into 3 parts, namely human relations, the use of new media and organizational communication. Data analysis in this study used the SEM method. Hypothesis testing shows that human relations have a significant effect on organizational communication. This indicates that good human relations will contribute well to organizational communication. The use of new media in organizations has a significant effect on organizational communication. Furthermore, from the results of the hypothesis test, it can be seen that human relations and the use of new media together can affect organizational communication at PT Lantera Sejahtera Indonesia. From the results of this study, researchers provide several suggestions to improve organizational communication at PT Lantera Sejahtera Indonesia to be able to improve human relations for the better so that organizational communication becomes better. Diploma in Accounting and Business Studies Students’ Perceptives on Online Teaching and Learning

Introduction: The advent and consequent entrenched use of new media technologies in higher education has prompted systems change in many universities across the world. At the University of Botswana, the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) unveiled a plan to “break down physical lecture-rooms and campus walls” by delivering courses in the Diploma in Accounting and Business Studies (DABS) programme, including to satellite centers, solely through the virtual mode. Driven by the idea of Digital Divide and the hypothesis of lack of access and system challenges, the study investigated the viability of this change considering the inherent social and digital divides in Botswana, and the observation that New Media Technologies often place more emphasis on proliferation of information and communication technologies to the detriment of variables such as economic status, income, and social environment.Objectives: The central question for this study was: Do all students in the DABS programme have “access” to the Internet, mobile technologies and other associated resources to impeccably take part in the online teaching and learning dispensation? Thus, the overarching objective of this study was to unearth whether or not learners enrolled in the DABS programme had access to Internet, mobile technologies and other associated resources to successfully take part in online teaching and learning.Methods: This study used a focus group discussion method involving students’ representatives from all the centers to get their perspectives on online teaching and learning. Results: The study has unveiled that not all DABS students embraced online teaching and learning.Conclusions: It was, therefore, concluded that DABS students have to change their mindset and behaviours towards online-based learning and teaching. Research on the Enhancement of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ability by the Use of New Media Technology

Abstract The emergence of new media technology offers a significant opportunity to enhance innovation and entrepreneurship. This paper explores the underlying mechanism of this enhancement through statistical analysis. A theoretical correlation framework identifies relevant variables for the study and proposes appropriate measurement methods. A regression model, centered on partial least squares and incorporating principal component analysis, is constructed to address multicollinearity issues via residual analysis. Following the preliminary work, research samples from various regions were selected, data was collected, and input into the model, and the results were verified and discussed. The findings indicate a positive and significant correlation between “teaching practice” and innovation and entrepreneurship abilities. The regression results show that the “teaching practice” variable significantly positively affects innovation knowledge competence (β = 0.783, P < 0.05). Other dimensions also positively impact innovation knowledgeability, and the PLS model has been fully validated.

The use of new media technology in the creation of media animation under the threshold of big data

Abstract This paper first introduces the support vector machine mining algorithm to find the optimal linearly bounded hyperplane utilizing a nonlinear transformation. Then the algorithm’s comparison criterion is introduced, and its performance is evaluated in terms of accuracy and other aspects. Finally, the support vector machine mining algorithm is used to mine and analyze the problems of traditional animation and the impact of new media technology on the creation of media animation. Among the existing problems, the most important one is that 67.9% of people think the animation content has no connotation and is boring. 7.8% of people think that the technology is not up to the standard and the use of new technology is lacking, and 55% think that the theme is old and repetitive. In the influence of new media technology on media animation creation, 67% think new media technology makes animation themes diversified, 73% think new media technology makes animation content young and theme civilians grounded. 79% think new media technology keeps animation creation up with the times, and connotation and creativity are improved. New media technology makes media animation’s connotation theme sublimated, but it also should reflect on its shortcomings in time with the development of the times.

DUNHUANG MOGAO CAVES IMPACT ON ADOLESCENT CULTURAL HERITAGE EDUCATION WITH NEW MEDIA – A CASE STUDY ON THE DEER AND THE SNITCH

Abstract. As a key role in reflecting local diversity and identity, cultural heritage is of significant value to the living and well-being of a region and its people. Additionally, cultural heritage education serves to further enrich the values, core literacy, and cultural identity of future decision-makers. Even though countries are paying increased attention to these various aspects of education and research on cultural heritage obstacles to engagement exist. The obstacles addressed here include passive or minimal participation, and the lack of research surrounding methods for engaging adolescents with cultural heritage. However, the Dunhuang Academy's animated short, The Deer and the Snitch, featured on WeChat’s mini-programs, presents an example of novel methods used to educate and engage the adolescent demographic with cultural heritage through new media technology. Set in the Dunhuang Mogao Caves, the world’s oldest, richest, and most exquisite site for Buddhist art, this animated drama breathes life into the Dunhuang frescoes through its professional use of new media technology and strengthens their philosophical themes of truth, kindness, and beauty. With increased accessibility due to the mobile nature of WeChat mini programs, combined with an integrated mechanism for viewer participation, this animated drama constructs a bridge between individuals and cultural heritage. The planning and production ideas behind The Deer and the Snitch provide an innovative perspective for the use of new media technology in cultural heritage education.

Employees’ Perceptions on the use of Online Internal Communication for Knowledge Sharing

The primary objective of this study was to assess employees’ perceptions on the use of online internal communication (OIC) for knowledge sharing from a personal/individual perspective. This is important because of the emphasis placed on the relevance of knowledge management (KM) in transforming ordinary organisations into learning ones, and to a greater degree through the use of new media technologies. One of the important dimensions of KM that is crucial for organisational learning is knowledge sharing (KS). However, the use of OIC to share knowledge among employees in deposit-taking savings and credit co-operative societies (SACCOs) in Kenya is still low. Therefore, it is necessary to explore employees’ perceptions and personal/individual factors influencing employees’ online KS using the available OIC tools. A cross-sectional survey design was adopted. Primary data were collected using an online structured questionnaire targeting the accessible population of 485 mid-level employees of deposit taking SACCOs in Kenya, and data were migrated to SPSS version 25.0 to generate descriptive statistics. Thematic coding of data obtained from eight focus group discussions involving 72 employees and in-depth interviews with eight senior managers were presented as narrative analysis. The findings of this study indicated that most employees lacked the requisite knowledge, skills and attitude for adopting OIC for knowledge sharing (KS), and emphasised the need for training prior to the implementation process and an organisational environment that is conducive for attutude modification in the use of existing OIC. This study is unique and adds to the existing body of knowledge in the proposed theoretical framework emphasing the need to enhance KS through OIC, specifically on a personal/individual level, considering the managerial/organisational and technical levels as well, to contribute to organisational learning and innovation to ensure sustainable competitive advantage.

The Construction of “Party Building + Curriculum Civics” Education Model for Chinese Grassroots Party Organizations in the Context of “Internet+”

Abstract In order to explore the construction mode and direction of the “Party building + Curriculum Civics” education mode of Chinese grass-roots party organizations under the background of “Internet+”. This paper proposes to use the hash search algorithm as the basis of the “Internet+” technology model. Take the Learning Power APP as an example. Use the hash search algorithm to mine the party building and thinking politics elements in the Learning Power APP from three perspectives and establish the index mining vector. Through the mining analysis of the index vector, we verify the development mode of grass-roots party organizations in the context of “Internet+”. The results showed that the learning initiative of party members and cadres on the Learning Power APP reached 95.5%, and 97.65% of them answered positively that using the Learning Power APP could improve the political knowledge and ideological consciousness of party members and cadres, and the average rates of political knowledge, political participation, political belief, political effectiveness and political responsibility among the five indicators were 80%, 51%, 71%, 55.29%, and 86.29%, respectively. The average rates of political knowledge, political participation, political belief, political efficacy, and political responsibility in the five indicators are 80%, 51%, 71%, 55.29%, and 86.96%, respectively. The results prove that the use of new media technology can help Chinese grassroots Party organizations to carry out a new “Party building + curriculum thinking and government” education model in the context of “Internet+”, which provides a broader vision for the innovation of grassroots Party organizations, and also provides a broader vision for “Internet+”. The “Internet+” background has a new place for all technologies.

Analysis of E-Commerce Marketing Strategy Based on Xgboost Algorithm

With the development and popularization of multimedia technology, people’s communication and information dissemination become more and more convenient. The use of new media technology in marketing accelerates the enterprise’s adaptation to market changes. With the help of new marketing technology, the quality of marketing can be improved and the effect of marketing can be maximized. This paper reviews the current literature on e-commerce marketing and then analyzes the feasibility of precision marketing in e-commerce market in the new media era. In order to screen potential consumers and improve the success rate of precision marketing, this paper establishes a prediction model for precision marketing of bank credit cards. A public dataset selected in this paper contains the basic characteristics of the customer, such as age, gender, monthly income, monthly consumption, and whether the customer has agreed to process the credit card after personalized recommendation. After data cleaning and preprocessing, XGboost algorithm is used to predict whether the customer will process the credit card. The calculation shows that the XGboost algorithm can still maintain a high accuracy when dealing with fewer characteristic variables. This study is helpful to better predict users’ consumption intention, further explore potential customers, and improve the success rate of precision marketing.

ISLAM IN KAZAKHSTAN UNDER THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC CONDITIONS: “TESTING” WITH MEDIATIZATION

The article is devoted to the study of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the functioning of Islamic institutions in Kazakhstan. The COVID-19 pandemic gave a new impetus to the mediatization process of Islam in Kazakhstan, resulting in the transfer of most of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan (SAMK) and its subdivisions’ activities to the Internet and media space, excluding religious rituals. The authors argue that the use of new media technology had a substantial impact on the activities of official Islamic structures in Kazakhstan, becoming a ‘test’ of mediatization, based on the concepts of ‘mediatization’ of religion by S. Hjarvard and ‘network religion’ by H. Campbell. The authors show that the SAMK, which represents ‘traditional Islam’ in Kazakhstan, is currently involved by the state as a mediator for outreach work among the population for the purpose of reducing social tension and promoting official state discourses on various social issues. The SAMK’s mediation function in the context of the coronavirus pandemic is to explain and substantiate, from an Islamic perspective, the government’s unpopular decisions to close mosques during the state of emergency and the subsequent ban/restriction of collective prayers in religious institutions. The authors identified the discourses produced by the SAMK under quarantine conditions and broadcast on its media platforms and messengers based on a content analysis of the Muftiat’s website and social media pages. The content posted in the media by official Islamic structures demonstrated the intertextuality of state institutions’ official discourse and the SAMK’s discourses, legitimizing government decisions by appealing to Islamic values. Support for state-imposed emergency and quarantine restrictions, the discourse of Islam as a religion of purity, the discourse-call for Muslim unity, and the discourse on the importance of charity were among the dominating discourses. Interviews with the mosque’s imams and ministers made it possible to hear the voices of Muslim clergy who interacted with the local population (in particular, the benefits and drawbacks of new forms of work from their perspective were revealed), as well as show how they passed the ‘test’ of mediatization. In a decentralized and competitive media space, such a consequence of mediatization as a shift of religious authority from traditional Islamic structures to new influential religious actors, including both promoting SAMK discourses and expressing alternative positions based on their reading of Islam, was given particular attention. The pluralization of religious authority in the discussion of the media agenda shaped by the issues of Muslims in the context of the pandemic had caused a conflict of interpretations. In general, the ‘test’ of mediatization resulted in strengthening the SAMK’s activities to adapt new media technology, in the production of new initiatives, such as the electronic muftiat, and the advancement of new requirements for the competencies of imams.

Research on the construction of good family style in the context of rural revitalization

Family style reflects the value pursuit and spiritual aspiration of a family, and is an important part of China's traditional culture with great characteristics.Based on the combing of concepts related to the rural revitalization strategy and the construction of good family ethics in rural areas, this paper firstly points out the background related to the rural revitalization strategy and the construction of family ethics, and on this basis reveals the relationship between the two.Then, the current situation and problems of family style construction in the context of rural revitalization are explained. Finally, it is refined that the construction of good family style in rural areas should follow the family members' alignment, pay attention to the requirements of sustainable development, inherit and carry forward the content of traditional excellent family style, pay attention to the use of new media technology, adapt to the development of the times, strengthen the propaganda and education of family style construction, so that the construction of good family style in rural areas can help the implementation of rural revitalization strategy.

Teenagers and new media technologies: Gratifications obtained as a factor for adoption

Many extensions have been made to the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), one of the foremost theories which speak to why and how people adopt technologies, including new media technologies, by introducing various constructs. It is contended in this study that an important construct to consider when studying teenagers’ use of new media technologies is gratifications obtained (GO). With the aid of the stratified sampling technique, 300 students of two senior high schools in the Greater Accra region of Ghana, representing 10% of the total population, were recruited to take part in a study to explore whether there would be substantial empirical evidence to support the stance that gratifications obtained could potentially account for teenagers’ adoption of new media technologies. The minimum and maximum ages of participants were 13 and 19, respectively. The study matched gratifications teenagers sought from the use of new media technologies with gratifications they ultimately obtained and advanced that the ability to adequately satisfy needs sought from new media technologies contributes to teens’ use of the technologies. The statistical measures for GO and other constructs in the TAM, Perceived Usefulness (PU) and Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU), were within similar range. It was concluded that although PU and PEOU are strong factors in the adoption of new media technologies, gratifications obtained (GO) is a factor that must also be given ample attention when it comes to teenagers’ use of new media technologies.

The article attempts to study protest media activism in modern Russia, taking into account the manifestation of its new forms, such as online rallies, as well as an analysis of the prospects for its further application in the protest practice of modern Russia. The conclusion is made about the ambiguity of the use of new media technologies to consolidate the protest potential of the Russian society, which is associated with the presence of trends in the growth of the Internet users and the increase in state control over the sphere of public communications on the Internet.

Yeni medyateknolojilerinin kullanımının artmasıyla birlikte insanlarınbu ortamlarda geçirdikleri zaman artmış ve alışverişalışkanlıkları da bu ortamlara taşınmıştır. Bu durummarkaların tüketicilere mesajlarını etkin bir şekildeiletebilmeleri için pazarlama iletişim stratejilerini vearaçlarını değiştirme ve geliştirme gerekliliğini ortayaçıkarmıştır. Yeni medya teknolojileriyle beraber değişenreklamcılık anlayışı, yeni reklam alanlarının oluşmasınısağlamıştır. Yeni medya ile birlikte ortaya çıkan reklamalanlarından biri de viral reklamlardır.Bu çalışmada yeni medyada viral reklamların markafarkındalığı üzerinde anlamlı bir etkisinin olup olmadığı,viral reklamların farklı boyutları üzerinde test edilmiştir.Araştırmada çevrim içi anket yöntemiyle elde edilenverilere marka farkındalığı ve viral reklamlar arasındakiilişkiyi ortaya koymak için regresyon ve anova analizleriuygulanmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre viralreklamların paylaşım ve tavsiye boyutunun, tutumoluşturma boyutunun ve risk boyutunun markafarkındalığı üzerinde güçlü olmasa bile pozitif yönlü biretkisinin olduğu; viral reklamların marka algısıboyutunun ve viral reklamların bilgi boyutunun markafarkındalığı üzerinde pozitif yönlü güçlü bir etkisininolduğu ortaya çıkmıştır.

New Media Technologies and Students' Creativity: An Analysis of Portfolio Website Concept Generation

This study analyses concept generation for portfolio websites using new media technologies for a third-year Web Design and Development course at the Department of Graphic Design, University of Education, Winneba (UEW). The focus was to examine the effects of technologies used to develop portfolio websites on students' creativity. Using New Heuristic Framework for Creativity Measurement (NHFCM) as a lens, the study analyses the developmental stages of hundred portfolio websites carried out by a hundred third year Graphic Design students at the Department of Graphic Design, UEW. The study from its findings revealed that the technologies used to develop the portfolio websites offered the Graphic Design students the digital platform to plan, record, refine and implement their ideas with no limitation. There was evidence to suggest that the Graphic Design students circumvented some of the concept generation processes for generating portfolio websites with technology. The study recommends the continuous use of new media technology by Graphic Design students to hone their creative skills since it supports concept generation. The study suggests against the circumvention of concept generation processes with technology by Graphic Design students to enable them to gain the total learning outcomes of the process.
