Management and Utilization Strategies of Educational Management Information Systems to Enhance Students' Academic Performance

Conventional educational management systems often face limitations in handling student data, curriculum, and other academic processes, leading to difficulties in effectively monitoring and enhancing students' academic performance. With the rapid advancement of information technology, the use of management information systems in educational contexts has become increasingly crucial. This research aims to examine the management and utilization strategies of management information systems in enhancing students' academic performance. The methodology employed in this research is a literature review using a qualitative approach and descriptive analysis. Descriptive analysis is utilized to present characteristics, patterns, and trends emerging from data obtained from articles published on Google Scholar between 2007 and 2024. Theme identification is one of the research data analysis techniques. The main themes in the article were identified, focussing on aspects such as information systems, education management, and student academic performance. The study results indicate that the utilization of Management Information Systems (MIS) has demonstrated a significant role in enhancing efficiency and effectiveness across various fields, including education. In the educational context, the management of MIS can be a key factor in improving students' academic performance

Penerapan Sistem Informasi Manajemen pada PT. Prima Indonesia Logistik

The purpose of the research is to give recommendations to PT. Prima Indonesia Logistics Belawan in the correct use of Management Information System. The research method is that this research is qualitatively descriptive. Logistics is the art and science of regulating and controlling the flow of goods, energy, information, and other resources, such as products, services, and people, from the source of production to the market in order to optimize the use of capital. A management information system is an operating system that performs a variety of functions to generate outputs that are useful to the operators and management of the organization concerned. So to get the right information system you need to pay attention to several elements, namely Competitive Advantage, Customer Value View, Uniqueness Angle, Time and Place, Smooth Transfer to Customer, Accuracy Benefit.

Influence of principals' use of management information system in managing public senior secondary schools in Central Senatorial Zone, Kaduna State, Nigeria

The study assessed principals’ use of management information systems (MIS) in managing public secondary schools in Central Senatorial Zone, Kaduna State. The study was guided by three research questions with corresponding 3 objectives and 3 null hypotheses. The research design used for this study was descriptive survey research design. The total population of the study consisted of 168 principals and vice principals drawn from all 168 public senior secondary schools in the central senatorial zone of Kaduna State. The sample size of the study consisted of 84 respondents drawn from 84 secondary schools using a simple random sampling technique. The researcher’s self-developed instrument which consisted of 24 items was used for data collection. The instrument was validated and it yielded 0.63 as the logical validity index. The instrument was pilot tested on 20 principal and vice principal and the coefficient of internal consistency of 0.72 was obtained. Descriptive statistics of mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions while Pearson product moment correlation was used to test all the hypotheses at a 0.05 level of significance. The major findings of the study indicated that MIS is effective in managing various aspects of staff and students' records and shows a significant relationship between MIS use and the management of students’ records, administrative competence, and teachers’ computer skills in recording students’ scores in public senior secondary schools in Central Senatorial Zone of Kaduna State. This implies that no meaningful records management process can ignore the impact of MIS in effective records management since it is clear that information creation, storage and retrieval have gone from pictorial representations on the walls of caves and artefacts to the invention of writing and computers. The study recommends that efforts should be intensified by government and stakeholders in education in collaboration with the School Based Management Committee (SBMC) to introduce and ensure its implementation of the use of modern technology such as Education Management Information System (MIS) for improved method of record management of students in public senior secondary schools of Central Senatorial Zone, Kaduna State.

Strategic Utilization of Management Information Systems for Efficient Organizational Management in the Age of Big Data

The study's goals include examining the MIS's changing function, examining integration tactics, and offering suggestions for efficient use. The report outlines the main issues with organisational management, such as information silos, data overload, and the requirement for quick decision-making. It makes detailed evaluations of relevant works using content analysis, demonstrating the development of MIS, its theoretical underpinnings, and the importance it bears in improving organisational effectiveness. It also examines the effects of Big Data and the difficulties in integrating it into MIS. This study makes a contribution by filling in significant research gaps about how businesses might utilize the potential of MIS in a Big Data environment. The necessity of strategic adaptability, data governance, and resource allocation for efficient MIS integration is highlighted by the findings. Strategic adaptation, solid data governance, and effective resource allocation are all recommended. The study's findings, which provide informed decision-making and innovation by strategically exploiting MIS in the age of Big Data, direct organizations towards effective and competitive organisational management practises

The Study on the Effectiveness of Sustainable Customer Relationship Management: Evidence from the Online Shopping Industry

Sustainable development integrates business, environmental, and social objectives into a unified effort to achieve a common goal. Sustainable customer relationship management (CRM) combines company strategy, customer-focused business processes, and computer technologies. From the consumer’s perspective, it lowers psychological, energy, time, and other costs; from the company’s perspective, it offers a means of engaging with customers to build lasting and reliable relationships. The sustainable CRM program provides advantages to businesses in various industries, particularly online commerce. It alludes to a comprehensive strategy that promotes solid interactions between buyers and sellers of goods and services. Since current customer retention is less costly than new customer attraction in competitive markets, especially online shopping, identifying the factors affecting relationship management with stable customers is essential. This investigation intends to evaluate the effect of the use of management information systems (MIS), as well as insights on employee behavior and knowledge, and customer behavior (satisfaction and loyalty), on the effectiveness of sustainable CRM in online shopping. The model is validated using the PLS–SEM technique, and study sample of 293 employees and managers from private organizations. According to the results, the MIS, employee behavior and knowledge, customer satisfaction, and customer loyalty influence the effectiveness of sustainable CRM in online shopping. Furthermore, employee behavior and knowledge positively moderate the relationship between customer loyalty and the effectiveness of sustainable CRM. However, the moderating role of employee behavior and knowledge on customer satisfaction and the effectiveness of sustainable CRM is not confirmed. Overall, taking these characteristics into account might help organizations to take significant steps toward increasing the efficacy of sustainable CRM.

Yönetim Bilgi Sistemlerinde (YBS) Siber Güvenliğin Önemi

İçinde bulunduğumuz Bilgi Çağında işletmelerin faaliyetlerini gerçekleştirirlerken Yönetim Bilişim Sistemlerini (YBS) yoğun olarak kullanmaları YBS için Siber Güvenliği (SG) bir zorunluluk getirmiştir. Siber tehdit ve saldırılar neticesinde YBS sistemlerinde oluşabilecek siber güvenlik olayları işletmelerde kullanılan YBS sistemlerinin hizmet dışı kalmasına, işletmelerde ekonomik zararın oluşmasına, işletmelere ait kurumsal, kişisel, sağlık, fikri mülkiyet gibi farklı verilerin zarar görmesine neden olabilecektir. Hatta bu SG olayları ulusal güvenliğin ihlaline kadar etki gösterebilecektir. Bu çalışmada, öncelikle SG ile ilgili kavramların genel çerçevesi çizilmiş, siber güvenlik kapsamında YBS güvenliği araştırılmış, bu çerçevede YBS siber güvenliğinin mevcut farkındalığın artırılmasına ilişkin öneriler getirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen sonuçlar, YBS sistemlerinde SG konu, kural ve tedbirlerinin dikkate alınarak uygulanmasının özellikle yöneticiler açısından etkin, hızlı ve doğru karar almada önemli rolü olduğu görülmüş ve SG konularının YBS için kritik öneme haiz bir konu olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Çalışma neticesinde ayrıca YBS sistemlerinin bilgi güvenliğinin sağlanmasında yerli ve milli bilişim teknolojilerinin kullanımının önemi vurgulanmıştır.

The Role of Implementation of Management Information Systems in Mediating the Influence of Social Capital on Business Sustainability

The aim of this study Purpose review about the role of social capital on the use of Management information systems and their impact on the business continuity of Institution Credit and for test the Model Acceptance of Technology on Social Capital and Credit Institution Business Continuity. The research was conducted at 1,200 Credit Institutions in Indonesia with a sample of 100 Credit Institutions spread across In Indonesia. The research method used to answer the research objectives uses a quantitative test with the Partial Least Square (PLS) approach. The results of the study show that the application of Social Capital has an effect on the implementation of Management Information Systems and the business continuity of Credit Institutions. The application of the Management information system is a mediating variable for the relationship between social capital and the business continuity of Credit Institutions. The research results are in line with the TAM theory which explains that someone wants to use information technology because they consider the management information system that is applied to be useful and easy to use in completing work.

Pengaruh Sistem Informasi Manajemen terhadap Keputusan Investasi Bank

The Management Information System provides information that relates to possible future events, efficiency and output levels. This study aims to analyze how the use of management information systems will make bank investment decisions. This study emphasizes how the Management Information System influences bank investment decision-making. In this study, the method used was descriptive research with qualitative methods within a period of one period. The technique of analyzing the data obtained uses descriptive analysis that describes a situation not to relate to other circumstances. The results showed that among the various kinds of weighted information in making investment decisions in the management information system bank, it has a positive effect on the actions to be taken. Investment decisions are one type of decision that is very important for the sustainability and achievement of goals. The management information system is influential in the quality of the company's financial statements and will become a handle in management accounting information at the bank. Management information systems provide benefits for banks not only in the development of information technology but can play a role as a basis for decision-making efforts.

MENGUKUR KESUKSESAN IMPLEMENTASI SISTEM APLIKASI KEUANGAN TINGKAT INSTANSI (SAKTI) DI KANTOR WILAYAH KEMENTERIAN AGAMA PROVINSI BALI DENGAN MODEL DELONE DAN MCLEAN

Through the use of Management Information Systems, the company has utilized technology to help improve service and business quality. The Management Information System used in the organization, for example at the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of the Province of Bali which uses a Management Information System as a tool for achieving goals based on the application they use. The Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of Bali Province made the decision to use the Application from the Institutional Level Financial Application System (SAKTI) in January 2022.
 The results of this study suggest that, the four main constructs of Information Quality to users, System Quality to Users, System Quality to User Satisfaction, and Users to Net Benefits, were rejected based on test results which indicated that these constructs were not able to assess the successful implementation of the application. Institution Level Financial Application System (SAKTI). However, Information Quality on user satisfaction, Service Quality on users, Service Quality on User Satisfaction, Users on User Satisfaction and User Satisfaction with Net Benefits, of the 5 constructs were accepted based on test results which indicated that this construct was able to assess the success of the implementation of Application of the Institution Level Financial Application System (SAKTI) at the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of the Province of Bali.

The Implementation of Management Information System Under the Impact of COVID-19

In 2019, the outbreak of COVID-19 had a serious negative impact on the development of all levels of society, accelerating the development and frequency of use of management information systems for governments and enterprises. In this paper, the implementation of the management information system (MIS) under the impact of COVID-19 are investigated and discussed. After investigation and research, the MIS can gather, consolidation, store, analysis and maintain information. With the development of the age of big data, the usage of computers instead of manual data processing, management information systems can help staff improve work efficiency. The difference between MIS and traditional information systems is that MIS can not only process data, but also combine data analysis and economic management models to provide users with relevant decision-making information. The emergency capability of the management information system can reduce the work pressure of relevant personnel in data entry and management, it can reduce unnecessary losses. These results shed light on guiding further exploration of MIS in risk management.

The Process of Technological Innovation in Islamic Universities: E-Campus Application at Islamic Institute of Bunga Bangsa Cirebon

The use of management information systems in Islamic higher education is one of the efforts that can be made to improve the quality of education. This article aims to describe the innovation of e-campus services used by the Campus of the Islamic Institute of Bunga Bangsa Cirebon to make it easier for all elements of the campus community to access all information and academic services through one door. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The data collection technique is by conducting interviews and collecting several references. The interview was conducted on the subjects studied, namely the Rector, Vice-Chancellor for Curriculum, and IT Operator of the IAI BBC campus, by SWOT analysis to capture information about the mechanism for using the e-campus Information Technology application at IAI BBC. The results of this study describe the e-campus applications used at THE BBC IAI including the services of (1) PPDB; (2) Lectures; (3) Administration; (4) Data management of students and lecturers. The e-campus application is a platform that provides menus for the learning process (academic) and non-academic. The use of e-learning through the IAI Bunga Bangsa Cirebon e-campus is a combination of face-to-face (offline) with online (online) or concluded as blended learning. This learning stands on an information technology infrastructure and can be accessed anytime and anywhere that has open source characteristics for all users.

The Use of Management Information Systems in Learning

Information systems are applied to a range of activities by organizations to improve efficiency and effectiveness. They are used in almost all industries, including manufacturing, health, and education. Therefore, organizations must measure and evaluate the usability of their systems to get the most value from the systems. One of the most reliable evaluation scales that can measure the usability of the systems is the system usability scale (SUS) which was used in this study to evaluate the usability of Blackboard at universities in Saudi Arabia. This study showed that Blackboard as LMS had a high SUS score when it was used at Saudi Universities. Indeed, the current study revealed that Blackboard could be used in teaching effectively. Furthermore, the current research findings show that students have higher SUS scores than lecturers, which means they can easily use Blackboard. It is also recommended that lecturers receive more training on Blackboard.

Notwithstanding appliance energy efficiency and advances in Smart Home Technologies (SHT), residential energy consumption is still on the rise. Residential Energy Management Information Systems (REMIS) that enable users to monitor, analyse, and benchmark energy use and consumption can contribute to energy savings and mitigate unnecessary consumption. Nevertheless, the withdrawal of Microsoft's Hohm and Google's Powermeter and the low adoption rate of smart meters in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia signposts missed opportunities in reducing energy intensity. Thus, the question of how to influence the successful adoption of REMIS and other related sustainable technologies captivates both researchers and practitioners. In this paper, based on a conceptual model developed by integrating the theory of planned behaviour and pro-environment behaviour research, we analysed survey data from 208 Singapore testbed eco-town apartment precinct households. The study found that environmental altruism and sustainability information exposure induce normative pressures towards REMIS use and a sense of volitional control over REMIS use. Furthermore, presence of children and the apartment size moderate the causal relationship between attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavioural control concerning REMIS adoption. These findings offer theoretical and empirical insights to cleaner production, residential energy consumption research and other sustainable technologies use that can contribute to UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It also discusses the strategic, policy and design implications for energy and technology providers, and residential energy users.

Evaluation of the Use of Information Systems Pharmacy Management Officer Pharmacy in RSU Royal Prima Medan Year 2020

Management information systems are urgently needed by hospital pharmacy installations to maintain the quality of the hospital, protect patient safety and support fast and precise decision making. The application of management information systems in the pharmaceutical installation of the Royal Prima Medan Hospital has been running. The pharmaceutical installation system that has been implemented is evaluating, repairing and improving to keep up with the times. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of system quality, information quality, service quality on the use of pharmaceutical management information systems at Royal Prima Medan Hospital and the relationship between significant variables. This type of research is a mixed method with a sequential explanatory research strategy. This study uses the DeLone and Mclean information system success model. The research was conducted at the Royal Prima Medan Hospital with the research subjects being pharmaceutical officers at the Royal Prima Medan Hospital. Data analysis was performed by multiple linear regression analysis. The number of respondents used in this study were 30 respondents with the characteristics of all respondents being female (100%) and aged 25-29 years (43.33%). Based on the results of the T test, it can be concluded that system quality, information quality and service quality have no effect on system use. Simultaneously, system quality, information quality and service quality do not have a significant effect on the use of management information systems simultaneously. Performance of employees and students with or without learning difficulties in Greece using M.I.S., by increasing the productivity and the profit in public and private administration.

In this paper, we examine the performance of employees in the public and private sector in Greece. The employees are divided into two groups (Group A’ & B’), that means individuals with and without learning difficulties. Also, we examine the performance of students at Technological Education Institute of Piraeus and University of Athens. This research aims to explore the use of Information Management Systems in order to improve the performance of adults with and without learning difficulties, eliminating the unemployment due to economical crisis. We examine the ease of this MIS by the employees and students, the time and the number of records were made in this ERP (Accontancy System-Navision) by this crowd and finally the performance by the groups of this research. The results were supported the hypothesis that the use of MIS improves the performance of the adults with and withoutlearning difficulties in business environment.

Use of management information systems from the perspective of farmers

Purpose: The purpose is to evaluate the impact of the use of Management Information Systems (MIS) in the management of small companies in the field of rural activity.
 Methodology: In this study, questionnaires were applied to rural producers using the conventional accounting system, obtaining 37 responses. In addition, 7 interviews were conducted with rural producers who started to use MIS to control their activities.
 Results: Using the analysis of differences between respondents who use MIS or not, it was possible to identify which points are linked to its implementation, in addition to assessing the benefits obtained from the system used. The results indicate that the use of MIS reflected positively in management, especially with regard to cost and culture control, forecasting needs, increased profit and assistance in decision making.
 Contributions of the Study: The findings of the study clarify the practical implications of using MIS in rural properties, such as receptivity to the use of the system and, mainly, which advantages with use are most indicated by respondents from properties that already use it. In this sense, we claim accounting entrepreneurs to instigate the use of management tools by rural producers who do not yet use it, but consider the use of MIS as beneficial.

NONGENTROPIC APPROACH TO ESTIMATING THE LEVEL OF INTELLIGENCE OF CONTROL SYSTEMS IN DECISION-MAKING TASKS

A new multi-model approach to assessing the influence of the level of intellectualization of target selection procedures on a set of alternatives implemented through the use of information management systems is proposed. The methodological basis of decision-making procedures in these systems is human intuition, which divided into two types: Inside and Intueri. The first type related to the innate natural ability of people to make choices, based on their acquired life experience and is the most common. The second type constructed in the information environment as a composition/superposition of Inside options in order to increase the level of intellectualization of target choosing procedures. It is suggested that in developing rules of output stages of decision making they should be evaluated negentropically, the unit of measurement that should be "bit". After generalizing all the output procedures, this will allow a comparative analysis of the levels of intellectualization of ranking procedures, which are a preliminary stage in the implementation of the choosing process. Multivariance of solutions to the set tasks requires solving the problem of listing effective choices, their formalizing, modeling, and developing effectiveness criteria. To solve these problems, proposed a new multi-model approach. These approaches include linguistic contextual representations of ranking procedures based on the set of meanings (semantics) and "triangles" by N. Chomsky; formal systems for listing effective ranking procedures based on generating context-free grammar in the form of metalinguistic formulas and variables; mathematical algorithms for evaluating the levels of intellectualization of choice procedures using the negentropic principle. Solution of both simple and complex tasks selection is represented as a formal output system. The focus is on three classes of intelligent selection procedures: intuition-based selection of the Inside type; procedures for building artificial intelligence with the connection of intuition like Intueri; intelligent procedures for choosing alternatives using artificial intelligence. The classes of these intellectual procedures are presented as the resultant conclusions of the same "theorem", but differ in the efficiency of performing ranking / selection tasks and the level of their intellectualization. The solution of a simple choice problem characterized by low speed, low level of non-manipulability and documentability. Low effectiveness of ranking procedures leads to the need to introduce a large number of restrictions on the complexity parameters of the choice problems to solve. A high level of intellectualization of this procedure can be reveal in a variety of classes of problems to solved, which is due to the erudition of the subject of control. Realization of the second class of intelligent procedures can become the basis for the development of various options for using artificial intelligence. When once obtained algorithmic constructions can be available for repeated use by organizing standard access to these models. There will be an effect of "amortization" as an expenditure of intellectual resource when delegating authority for a new or repeated assignment. Intelligent alternative selection procedures using artificial intelligence are decision-making algorithms designed for multiple use, within its "authority" as a limited subject area.
