Effects of Conservation Techniques on Yield

In May 1958, the Texas section of ASCE appointed a committee to study the effects on runoff and yield of the thousands of farm and stock ponds being constructed each year in Texas. This article discusses the committee's report that was published in August 1962. It reveals a broad difference of opinion as to the effects of upstream farm ponds and watershed control reservoirs on yield, and presents the committee's conclusions.
