COMPANIONSHIP ON EDUCATION AND INTRODUCTION TO BAT SPECIES IN BRAJA HARJOSARI AND LABUHAN RATU VII, EAST LAMPUNG

Under the HETI Project Program of Universitas Lampung 2023/2024, education and introduction to bats have been conducted in Braja Harjosari and Labuhan Ratu VII, East Lampung. Knowledge about bats and their ecological roles is essential as a conservation effort, particularly in residential areas adjacent to natural bat habitats. Information on bats, including their natural habitats, behaviors, and roles in supporting human life, as well as general species identification, was provided. The selection of locations, mist net installation, capture, handling, and release were demonstrated, including oral swab sample collection. The community’s response and enthusiasm were very positive in understanding bats as wildlife and their roles in human life.

The Total Archives Theory for Building Collective Memory and Cultural Identity in Archive Management at the Archives Unit of Lampung University

This article discusses the potential application of the total archives theory in the context of building collective memory and cultural identity at the Archives Management Unit (UPT Kearsipan) of Lampung University. The preservation and management of archives play a crucial role in preserving the history and culture of an educational institution, especially a university. This research aims to identify the challenges and opportunities faced by the Archives Management Unit of Lampung University in an effort to build collective memory and campus cultural identity. By applying the total archives theory approach, this study seeks ways to enhance a more holistic archive management approach involving all stakeholders and maximizing the use of technology in the process. The research methodology involves document analysis, interviews with UPT Kearsipan staff, and surveys of archive users. The results of the research indicate that the application of the total archives theory holds great potential in building collective memory and cultural identity at Lampung University. By leveraging technology, UPT Kearsipan can be more effective in managing, accessing, and documenting the archives, thus enabling broader access for stakeholders to explore the history and culture of the campus.

Cultivation of Green Mustard Greens (Brassica juncea L.) on Marginal Land

The research aims to determine the type of fertilizer and watering intensity that can provide optimal and effective growth and production of green mustard greens. The study was conducted in the Greenhouse of the Department of Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Lampung. It utilized a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) arranged in a factorial 2 x 3 with three replications. The first factor was the application of fertilizer types, consisting of urea and ghally organic fertilizer. The second factor was the application of watering intensity, which included three levels (watering once a day, every two days, and every three days). The study used sand as the planting medium. The results showed that, in general, the treatment of watering once a day and the application of urea fertilizer provided optimum results in the growth and development of green mustard greens. Meanwhile, the application of ghally organic fertilizer was more efficient in terms of water consumption for green mustard greens. Hambatan Epistemologis Mahasiswa dalam Memecahkan Masalah Ruang Hasil Kali Dalam

The ability to solve problems is one of the important competencies that students must master, including problems of inner product spaces encountered in Vector Algebra lectures. However, students' ability to solve problems based on this concept is not yet optimal. Therefore, this research was conducted with the aim of describing (1) the epistemological obstacles that hinder students in solving inner product space problems and (2) the causes of these obstacles. This research uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological type involving students from the Bachelor of Mathematics Education Study Program, FKIP Universitas Lampung who are taking the Vector Algebra course. The subjects of this research were six students who were chosen with the consideration that these students made mistakes in solving problems. This research data was collected through technical tests and interviews. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively. The results of the research show that there are six epistemological obstacles experienced by students in solving inner product space problems and three causes that trigger these obstacles. The results of this study provide opportunities for further research by assessing appropriate scaffolding to overcome these epistemological obstacles.

Use of Second Language Communication Strategies to Teach Autonomy in Speaking: A Study of Indonesian EFL Learners’ Use of Second Language Communication Strategies

An analysis of interaction patterns in students’ research essay guidance to build six main parameters of the Indonesian National Qualification Framework: Covid-19 pandemic period

This study aims to reveal the interaction patterns and inhibiting factors for the final project guidance in the Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education Department, Universitas Lampung, to develop the six main parameters of the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (INQF). The study employed a mixed method involving 67 students who composed the final project for the 2021/2022 academic year selected from 314 final project students using the cluster random sampling technique. The data in this study were primary and secondary data obtained by questionnaires, interviews, and documents, analyzed qualitatively, quantitatively, and descriptively. The closed-response questionnaire was used regarding the interaction pattern, the INQF parameters achievement, and perceptions of the achievement of students' core competencies. An open-response questionnaire regarding the inhibiting factors for the final project guidance was used to provide the qualitative data. Descriptive analysis was conducted to determine the profile and interaction pattern of the final project guidance, while the qualitative analysis using Miles and Huberman model was to reveal the inhibiting factors of the final project. The results show that: (1) the dominant interaction pattern that occurred was an associative pattern originating from the factors of suggestion, identification, and sympathy; (2) the INQF parameter with the best score is the science parameter with an average parameter achievement of 9.97 from the lowest score 3.00 until the highest score 12.38; and (3) the perception of achieving the highest core competency of students is the aspect of soft skills, both personal and interpersonal, with the highest average perception of achieving core competency being 59.71 out of 80.

PENGARUH KEMANDIRIAN BELAJAR DAN LITERASI DIGITAL MAHASISWA TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR

The background of this study is the problems that arise in online learning, such as the selection of online learning platforms and students learning independently through a learning management system. The purpose of this study is to explain how learning independence and digital literacy on student learning outcomes. This research was conducted using a quantitative approach. The subjects of this study were 40 students in mathematics education at Universitas Lampung who had taken the Trigonometry course. This research was conducted in the odd semester for the academic year 2022/2023. The instrument consisted of a non-test instrument in the form of a questionnaire learning independence and questionnaire digital literacy. Data analysis using multiple regression. The results of this study showed that learning independence and digital literacy influenced student learning outcomes, with an influence of 24.1%.

Analysis of Predisposing Factors Affecting Community Participation in COVID-19 Vaccination

Background: Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). As of June 29, 2022, there were 542,188,789 cases of COVID-19 in the world, and 6,339,275 people died. Recipients of the COVID-19 vaccine in Central Lampung District dose 1 were 898,900 (81.95%) of the 80% target. Those who received the 2nd dose vaccine were 683,002 (62.27%) of the 70% target and booster vaccines by 23,665 (2.16%) of the 40% target. The study aimed to analyze the predisposing factors that influence participation in the COVID-19 vaccination in the community in Central Lampung district in 2022. Subjects and Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted in three sub-districts of Central Lampung district from July to September 2022. A total of 110 people were selected for this study. The dependent variable was the decision of participating in the COVID-19 vaccination. The inde­pendent variables were Knowledge, Education, Attitudes, Health Information, and Trust. Data was collected by using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using a logistic regression test. Results: Health information (aOR= 18.58; 95% CI= 1.83 to 188.05; p= 0.013), and level of trust (aOR= 18.54; 95% CI= 2.77 to 123.80; p= 0.003) were related to community participation in the COVID-19 vaccination. Hubungan Asupan Kalsium dan Indeks Massa Tubuh dengan Kepadatan Tulang pada Wanita Usia Subur

In women of childbearing age, the rate of bone formation will decrease gradually. If a bone formation is reduced continuously then it can cause osteoporosis. Insufficient calcium intake and abnormal body mass index can also cause reduced bone density. The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlation between calcium intake and body mass index with bone density in women of childbearing age in the Medical Faculty Universitas Lampung in 2021. This cross-sectional study of 80 respondents consisting of lecturers, employees, and students aged 20-45 years who were selected by purposive sampling was carried out in November-December 2021. Demographic data, Semi Qualitative-Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ), Kris digital scales 9360A, microtoise GEA, and Quantitative Ultrasound (QUS) were used to measure all variables. Spearmen Correlation Test with a significant level of p-value<0.05 was used to see the relationship between variables. The results of the univariate analysis showed that the majority of respondents were aged 20-25 years (76.2%) and college students (78.8%). The average intake of calcium and body mass index was 709.2 and 21.2 and 31 respondents (38.8%) had osteoporosis. The results of the bivariate analysis showed a positive and significant correlation between calcium intake and bone density (p-value=0.000, r=0.687) and bone body mass index with bone density (p-value=0.000, r=0.596). The conclusion, there was a positive and significant correlation between calcium intake and body mass index with bone density in women of childbearing age in the Medical Faculty of Universitas Lampung in 2021.

The Effect of Seaweed (Sargassum sp.) and Plant Extract Combinations on the Growth of Mustard Plant (Brassica juncea L.) Grown in Hydroponic Wick System

Nutrient solution is an important factor for the growth and quality of hydroponic plants; however, the price is getting more expensive. Seaweed is abundantly available along tropical coast. The study was conducted to determine the best combination of extract of brown seaweed (<em>Sargassum</em> sp.) combined with coconut husk, <em>lamtoro</em> leaves, moringa leaves or African leaves that fit to the nutritional quality of AB mix as hydroponic nutrition for mustard plants. This research was conducted in the greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Lampung. The design used was a completely randomized design with six replications. The treatments consisted of six types of treatment, namely AB mix nutrition, brown seaweed, seaweed and <em>lamtoro</em> leaf, seaweed and coconut fiber, seaweed and moringa leaf, seaweed and African leaf. Results showed that the organic nutrient solution extracting from the mixture of brown seaweed with <em>lamtoro</em> leaf or coconut fiber or moringa leaf or African leaf has not been able to fit the quality of AB mix nutrition for mustard plants in the hydroponic wick system. However, among those treatments, the best fresh weight of mustard was found on the treatment of the combination between brown seaweed and <em>lamtoro</em> leaf which was 51.08% from total fresh weight from control AB mix.

PENGEMBANGAN SISTEM INFORMASI ADMINISTRASI ASISTEN MATA KULIAH PRAKTIKUM DAN RESPONSI DI JURUSAN ILMU KOMPUTER UNIVERSITAS LAMPUNG

The processing system of the administrative information for lab works and problem exercises of the student at the Department of Computer Science, Universitas Lampung, is still carried out conventionally. In this manner, the data is physically stored in the form of recorded documents and leave them on the shelf. Sometimes, data collection in this form can be lost and require a longer time to manage. For this reason, a lab assistant’s information system is developed by the waterfall approach that runs on a web-based platform. The system can provide data and generate information about lab assistants and participants faster and more accurately. It is implemented using the framework Laravel and Black Box testing as a functional test of the system. The testing indicates that the system functions work to the software requirement specification.

FACTORS AFFECTING LOW ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT OF UNDERGRADUATE MEDICAL STUDENTS: STUDENT EXPERIENCE

Background: Low achievement is one of the problems in higher education. Many factors that can cause student failure or low student achievement such as motivation, time management, learning strategy, socioeconomic, family, environment, presence, and student’s interest. The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors affecting low academic achievement of undegraduate medical students in the Medical Faculty of Lampung University.Methods: The study method was qualitative study with phenomenological approach and data was collected with a semi-structured interview. This study was conducted in Faculty of Medicine Universitas Lampung, in 2017. The study population was students in the first year, second year, and third year. Sample taken with purposive sampling obtained 17 students. Inclusion criteria: students who achieved Grade Point Average (GPA) < 2 and who participated in this study. Data was analysed by using thematic analysis.Results: The number of respondents was 7 male students and 10 female students. The low achievement was caused by a lack of learning strategy, lack of motivation, psychological problems, family problems, and health problems.Conclusion: The factors affecting low achievement were lack of learning strategy, lack of motivation, psychological problems, family problems, and health.

The Impact of STEM Acitivities on Computational Thinking Skills: A Case of Pre-Service Elementary School Teachers in Universitas Lampung

The research purpose was to implement of the STEM 4.0 approach in improving student CT. This study used a quasi-experimental design with one group pretest - posttest design. The learning integrated 4 STEM components to improve students’ CT. Participants were elementary school teacher education students at state universities in Lampung Province. The test instrument is at the cognitive level C4 and C6 which refers to Bloom's Taxonomy. Based on research data, it is stated that in learning with the STEM 4.0 approach, there are activities to understand the concept of learning material (Science) by integrating everyday life phenomena (Mathematics) and supported by learning media (Technology). Furthermore, there are learning activities in the form of practice activities in solving a problem in groups and making simple products by applying the concepts contained in the learning materials. Through this treatment, CT participants increased with male CT participants being higher than female. Keywords: computational thinking, STEM approach, pre-service elementary school teacher. Abstrak: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengimplementasikan pendekatan STEM 4.0 dalam meningkatkan CT siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain eksperimen semu dengan one group pretest – posttest design. Pembelajaran mengintegrasikan 4 komponen STEM untuk meningkatkan CT siswa. Instrumen tes berada pada level kognitif C4 dan C6 mengacu pada Taksonomi Bloom. Berdasarkan data penelitian disebutkan bahwa dalam pembelajaran dengan pendekatan STEM 4.0 terdapat kegiatan memahami konsep materi pembelajaran (IPA) dengan mengintegrasikan fenomena kehidupan sehari-hari (Matematika) dan didukung oleh media pembelajaran (Teknologi). Selanjutnya terdapat kegiatan pembelajaran berupa kegiatan praktik dalam memecahkan suatu masalah secara berkelompok dan membuat produk sederhana dengan menerapkan konsep-konsep yang terdapat dalam materi pembelajaran. Correlation of Vocabulary Proficiency and Learning Styles with Reading Comprehension of Prospective English Teachers: A Case of Universitas Lampung

Correlation of Vocabulary Proficiency and Learninng Styles with Reading Comprehension of Prospective English Teachers: A Case of Universitas Lampung. Objectives: To analyze the correlation of vocabulary proficiency (X1) and reading achievement (Y); second, to investigate the correlation between learning styles (X2) and reading achievement (Y); and to analyze the composite correlation between X1, X2 and Y. Methods: Simple random technique was used, 80 students were chosen, out of 120, based on the total sample, i.e., all students taking reading comprehension and vocabulary. A questionaire was used to measure learning styles, and two sets of tests were used, to measure vocabulary and reading achievement. Findings: There was a correlation between students’ vocabulary proficiency (X1) and reading achievement (Y), r = 0.532; there was a correlation between learning styles (X2) and reading achievement (Y), r = 0.784; finally, there was a correlation between X1, X2 and Y, r = 0.823. Conclusion: Vocabulary proficiency and learning styles play important roles in improving reading achievement. Keywords: vocabulary proficiency, learning styles, comprehension. Abstrak: Korelasi Antara Penguasaan Kosa Kata Dan Gaya Belajar Mahasiswa dengan Kemampuan Membaca Mahasiswa Calon Guru Bahasa Inggris: Studi Kasus di Universitas Lampung. Tujuan: Untuk menganalisis korelasi antara penguasaan kosa kata (X1); dengan kemampuan membaca (Y); kedua, untuk mengkaji korelasi antara gaya belajar (X2) dengan kemampuan membaca (Y); dan untuk menganalaisis korelasi gabungan antara X1 dan X2 dengan Y. Metode: Teknik sampling random sederhana digunakan untuk memilih sampel, dari populasi 120 diambil 80 berdasarkan sampel total, yakni semua mahasiswa yang mengambil reading dan vocabulary. Kuesioner digunakan untuk mengukur gaya belajar dan dua tes digunakan untuk mengukur kemampuan membaca dan penguasaan kosa kata. Temuan: Terdapat korelasi antara penguasaan kosa kata (X1) dengan kemampuan membaca (Y), r = 0.532; kedua terdapat korelasi antara gaya belajar (X2) dengan Y, r = 0.784; terakhir terdapat korelasi gabungan antara X1, X2 dengan Y, koefisien korelasi antara X1, X2, dan Y = 0.823. Kesimpulan: Penguasaan kosa kata dan penggunaan gaya belajar sangat penting dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca. Kata kunci: penguasaan kosa kata, gaya belajar, kemampuan membaca. THE RELATIONSHIP OF ACADEMIC PROCRASTINATION AND ACADEMIC DISHONESTY IN UNDERGRADUATE MEDICAL STUDENTS

Background: The act of academic dishonesty is a dishonest act taken by students in completing assignments and examinations which include several attempts such as cheating and plagiarism. Studies show that 20% of students begin cheating behavior from the first year of college. One of the patterns of behavior related to academic dishonesty is procrastination. Academic procrastination is a form of behavior when someone delays starting a job or completing it.Aims: This study aims to illustrate academic procrastination, academic dishonesty, and the relationship between procrastination habits and academic dishonesty among undergraduate medical students at Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Lampung.Methods: This study is an observational analytic study using a cross-sectional design. The research respondents were 120 undergraduate medical students from Faculty of Medicine Universitas Lampung. The sampling method used proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were collected using the Procrastination Assessment Scale-Students questionnaire and the Academic Practices Survey.Results: The results of this study are processed using computer software and Gamma testing method. Obtained r = 0.464 and p = 0.428 (p>0.05).Conclusion: There is no relationship between the academic procrastination habits and academic dishonesty in undergraduate medical students at Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Lampung.

Problem Based Learning Model Analysis in Improving Student's Critical Thinking Ability

This reseach aimed to determine the level of critical thinking skills of Economic Education students at Universitas Lampung in the 2021/2022 academic year through a problem based learning model. The ability to think critically is one indicator of intelligence that must be possessed by every individual in facing the era of society 5.0, in an effort to respond to various challenges in the midst of social life. The population in this study were 256 students with a sample size of 144 students, which was obtained by using the Isaac-Michael formula. Methods of data collection used questionnaires, documentation, and interviews. Based on the results of the study, it was found that there was an effect of applying the problem based learning model on increasing students' critical thinking skills, which was 66.5% and the rest was influenced by other factors.

It has been a tremendous experience to organize the 6th International Conference of Science, Technology, and Interdisciplinary Research (IC-STAR 2020). The annual international conference is held in conjunction with other conferences throughout series of event spanning from October to December 2020. The scope of IC-STAR 2020 includes chemical and biotechnology, civil and environmental, computer science and information technology, electrical and communications, materials sciences, industrial engineering, mechanical and aerospace, geodetic and geophysics, applied mathematics and physic sciences, and also the interdisciplinary research. IC-STAR conference series intend to integrate engineering and life sciences fields in order to provide a cross section roadmap from basic research, technological and developments, processes development, and their applications and integrity in the real-world usage.The event’s series started with a virtual event which is hosted at Universitas Lampung, in Bandar Lampung, Indonesia, on 20 – 21 October 2020. The conference featured Keynote Speakers list of Prof. Ahmad Saudi Samosir (Universitas Lampung, Indonesia), Prof. Rizalman Mamat (Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Malaysia), Prof. Sunny J. Kalayathankal (K. E. College, India), Prof. Naoya Kasai (Yokohama National University, Japan) and Prof. Gavin Brown (Auckland University, New Zealand). During the event, there are about 50 authors presenting their papers in oral presentation.The series proceeded with another virtual event hosted at Institut Teknologi Bandung, in Bandung, Indonesia, on 25-26 November 2021 by ICASA-MATRIX. Keynote Speakers for the conference were Prof. Koji Shimoyama (Tohoku University, Japan), Prof. Erry YT Adesta (International Islamic University of Malaysia, Malaysia), Prof. Tatacipta Dirgantara (Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia) and Prof. Bambang Kismono Hadi (Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia). DIVERSITY AND ABUNDANCE OF NEMATODES IN GUAVA (Psidium guajava L.) CULTIVATION IN LAMPUNG

Diversity and abundance of nematodes in guava (Psidium guajava L.) cultivation in Lampung. Crystal guava agroecosystem is inhabited by many species of plant parasitic nematodes. However, information regarding this topic was still limited. This study aimed to understand the species dominancy of nematodes in crystal guava cultivation in Lampung. Sampling was carried out in three locations of guava crystal plantations: Lampung Timur, Lampung Tengah, and Tanggamus. The laboratory analysis was done at the Plant Pest Science Laboratory and Agricultural Biotechnology Laboratory, Universitas Lampung. The study was conducted in December 2019 – July 2020. Nematodes were identified to the level of the genus. The Prominance value (PV) was used to assess the nematodes genus dominancy. The results showed that the nematodes inhabiting the crystal guava agro-ecosystem in Lampung was both plant parasitic and free-living nematodes. The plant parasitic nematodes were identified as Meloidogyne, Aphelenchus, Hemicriconemoides, Tylenchus, Aphelenchoides, and Xiphinema, while free-living nematodes was Rhabditis, Dorylaimine, Dorylaimus, and Mononchus. The dominant plant parasitic nematode was Meloidogyne and the dominant free-living nematode was Rhabditis. The abundance of Meloidogyne /300 mL of soil was 351.47 individuals in Lampung Timur, 124.27 individuals in Lampung Tengah, and 82.18 individuals in Tanggamus. The dominant free-living nematode in the three locations was Rhabditis.
