In this article, a co-planar waveguide (CPW) fed planar ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna with dual band rejection characteristics has been proposed. Dual-band rejections are realized by incorporating T-shape stubs with quarter-wavelength within the hexagonal patch. The effects of stubs are explained by the parametric study and current distributions. The experimental outcome of the proposed antenna has stop bands of 3.28 − 3.65 GHz and 5.10 − 5.82 GHz while maintaining the wideband performance from 3.15 − 14.32 GHz with |S11| ≤ -10 dB. The H-plane patterns are omnidirectional and the E plane patterns are dipole like in nature. The gain varies from 3.7 dB to 5.7 dB over the whole UWB region excluding at notch bands. Moreover, the antenna has satisfactory performances in the time domain.
