Especially does this apply to gastric disorders where the correlation between clinical manifestations and pathologic change is meager, and where obtaining such evidence is difficult with our present means of investigation. In particular, elucidation is needed in the relationship between gastrointestinal allergy to atopy elsewhere, i.e., bronchial asthma, urticaria and allergic rhinitis.For these reasons, objective findings and observations of the gastric mucosa in the allergic state are valuable.
