INNOVATIVE TRENDS IN VOCATIONAL TEACHER EDUCATION: A CAREER COUNSELOR FOR THE NEW UKRAINIAN SCHOOL

The article considers the problem of training career counselors for the New Ukrainian School as a modern innovative trend. It is updated in the context of the introduction of three-year specialized education in Ukraine. A career counselor performs the function of a mediator between a person and his or her possible choice of profession, helps him or her identify and use his or her talents and abilities to achieve significant goals. A content analysis of scientific sources on the problem are carried out, which originates at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Modern foreign scientific researchers are highlighted, for example, the theory of vocational choice, as well as other theories of career development. The analysis and systematization of research on career development made it possible for scientists to systematize five groups of theories: substantive, procedural, substantive-procedural, constructivist, and broad explanation theories. It is considered the development of Ukrainian scientists on the issues of career guidance and career counseling: a scientific thesaurus on the problem is formulated, and relevant scientific research is carried out. However, theoretical generalizations have not been implemented in practice: Ukrainian higher education institutions do not provide comprehensive systematic professional training for career specialists. The authors of the article outline some prospects for the professional training of relevant specialists; define the range of potential job responsibilities of a career counselor; present a model framework of competencies of a career counselor working in a Ukrainian general secondary education institution; and present the content of innovative educational disciplines necessary for the professional and pedagogical training of future career counselors in the New Ukrainian School.

Actualization of the National Narrative in Guidebooks of the 19th and 20th Centuries: Volodymyrska Street in Kyiv

The article addresses the issue of shaping the historical memory of the general public in Kyiv, including both residents and visitors, namely Ukrainians, during the Soviet era and the early years of Ukraine’s independence. The author analyzed the content of guidebooks on Kyiv’s city center, specifically focusing on Volodymyrska Street. The conclusion was drawn that Kyiv’s cultural and local history narratives were dominated by colonial and postcolonial Russian discourse, emphasizing figures and events that reinforced Russian-Communist authority in Ukraine’s capital. This dominance has not yet been fully overcome. The article proposes a significant shift in the narrative concerning the historical significance of Kyiv’s cultural landscape. It suggests reorienting the urban space to highlight events and individuals particularly significant to Ukrainian history and culture. For example, the author argues that building 28 in Volodymyrska Street is still primarily identified as the residence of Viktor Vasnetsov, a proponent of the Russian national style in painting. However, this building also housed the Ukrainian Scientific Society, led by Mykhailo Hrushevsky, which served as a precursor to the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences before the Ukrainian Revolution of 1917–1921. Notably, there is still no commemorative plaque on the building honouring this Society. Volodymyrska Street itself reflects the life of Mykhailo Hrushevsky. It was home to St. Vladimir University, where he studied, the Historical Section of the All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences (1924–1931), which he chaired, the Ukrainian Club, where he delivered public lectures, and the parliament of the Ukrainian People’s Republic, where he served as chairman. The author’s examination of how current guidebooks depict the buildings on Volodymyrska Street led to the conclusion that a fundamental reevaluation of the socio-cultural priorities in discussions about Kyiv’s historical heritage is necessary. Such a reevaluation would modernize commemoration practices used in urban cultural studies and local history.

The results of the corrective rehabilitation program on the gait of amateur athletes with long-term consequences of brain injury

Aim: To study the results of the quality of life, the state of vestibular disorders and the nature of walking of amateur athletes with the consequences of a combat craniocerebral injury after rehabilitation treatment according to a correctional program. Materials and Methods: The study was conducted on the basis of the Ukrainian Scientific Research Institute of Prosthetics in Kharkov. Under observation were 38 men aged 25-42 years with long-term consequences of a closed craniocerebral injury in the late long-term period. In all patients, complications after TBI were persistent headache, decreased muscle strength in the lower extremities, impaired coordination and balance, and walking patterns. All patients were involved in amateur sports before injury. The following research methods were used during the examination: visual analogue pain scale (VAS), Lovett manual muscle test, Bohannon test, ≪Timed Up and Go test≫. Results: All patients were randomly divided into two groups. Patients Gr.1 (n=20) were trained according to the developed program, which included training according to the PNF method, kinesiotherapy, classes on the C-mill sensory treadmill and the Hunova computer device, segmental reflex massage. Patients Gr. 2 (n=18) underwent a course of physical rehabilitation according to the generally accepted methodology of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. After working with patients according to the developed correction and rehabilitation program, the following dynamics were observed: the quality of life on the VAS scale in Gr.1 patients had a statistically significant difference (p<0.05) compared to the primary indicator. The dynamics of the Lovett manual muscle test indicated an increase in the muscle strength of the extensor and flexor muscle groups of the lower extremities, the dynamics of the balance indicator in the standing position behind Bohann in all Gr.1 patients and acquired statistical significance (p<0,05). According to the test “Timed Up and Go” patients Gr.1 approached the standard value (p<0,05). In all patients of Gr. 2, the studied characteristics had a positive trend (p>0,05). Conclusions: Individual selection of physical exercises, development of correctional and rehabilitation programs, multidisciplinary approach has a positive impact on changes in the functional state of amateur athletes, quality of life and contributes to the return to an active social life.

ON THE ISSUE OF RADON EXPOSURE IN THE EXISTING RADIATION SITUATION AT WORKPLACES.

assessment of probable exposure levels from radon and NORM in workplaces within the context of justi fying radiation protection plans in an existing exposure situation. Materials regarding the assessment of naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM) con tent in tailing from mining and processing industries in Ukraine and assessments of contamination levels of industri al sites of oil and gas enterprises were used for estimating the probable range of effective doses (ED) of workers fromNORM at industrial enterprises. These materials were obtained as a result of research conducted by specialists from theRadiation Protection Laboratory of the State Institution «O.M. Marzіeiev Institute for Public Health of the NationalAcademy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine» (RP SI «IPH NAMSU»). The results of studies conducted by the StateInstitution «Ukrainian Scientific Research Institute of Industrial Medicine» (SI «UKRMEDPROM») were used for calcu lating the EDs of iron ore miners. Calculations of probable EDs of industrial enterprise workers were carried out usingmethodologies and recommendations from publications of the IAEA related to occupational exposure. Assessments ofexposure levels for office workers were based on measurements of indoor radon concentrations of first-floor premisesin multi-story buildings of industrial urban development from the laboratory's own databases. Radon measurements inindoor air were conducted using passive track etch radon detectors with an exposure time of at least 30 days.Calculations of EDs for office workers were carried out using dose coefficients and mathematical models from the ICRP. When workers are exposed to radon as a result of the technological process, radiation exposure is limitedby dose criteria. Using non-uranium miners as an example, it was shown that effective doses (ED) due to gammaradiation varied within a narrow range, ranging from 0.2 to 0.4 mSv/year, and were on average an order of magnitudelower than the radon component of the total ED for the two groups of mines, which amounted to 2.0-14.0 mSv/yearfor the Northern group and 0.3-0.8 mSv/year for the Southern group. For three underground worker specialties, radi ation EDs could potentially exceed the reference level of 6 mSv/year and fall under regulatory control. Potentialradiation EDs for workers at one of the Ukrainian oil fields were generally not significant (<0.1-1 mSv/year), exceptfor areas where used pipe storage and sludge settlers were located (70.0 mSv/year; 28.0 mSv/year at a distance of10 meters), near which dose limits for Category A personnel (6 mSv/year), falling under regulatory control, wereexceeded. Radon exposure in workplaces also includes the presence of workers in regular office premises on the firstfloors of multi-story buildings, where the main source of radon entry into the air is the underlying soil. For the mostresearched regions of Ukraine (~1200 measurements of radon activity concentrations in first-floor premises), it wasfound that the reference level of 300 Bq/m3 is exceeded in 0.2-0.5% of cases in certain regions, indicating thatpotentially the reference level may be exceeded in tens of thousands of premises. A differentiated approach is justified for assessing the hazards of workplaces, allowing for optimizingradiation protection for workers at a reasonable cost and saving significant resources for enterprises. Effective doses(ED) of radiation for workers at enterprises where radon is an integral part of the technological process vary widelyand can differ by an order of magnitude even within the same enterprise. Reference levels of 300 Bq/m3 may beexceeded in tens of thousands of office premises, and only through direct measurements of radon activity concen trations in building air can such premises be identified.

When formalizing and verifying both published and unpublished biographical data of public and political figures, scientists, and specialists, it turns out that many elements of their biographies (dates of birth and death, place of birth, social or professional status, citizenship, etc.) come from sources of personal origin – obituaries, memoirs, research publications and even Curriculum Vitae written by emigrants themselves) are strikingly differen. The network of biographical inconsistencies is explained by two reasons. Firstly, due to the natural errors of human memory, which is capable of displacing and forgetting information, and therefore, constructing one's own, i.e., a new biography. For ideological (motivated) Ukrainians who left Ukraine due to the defeat of the National Liberation War of 1919–1921, there was no question of changing or actualizing a new cultural, linguistic or professional identity abroad. Until 1925, this category of immigrants expected the fall of the Bolshevik regime and dreamed of a triumphant return home, so they did not try to integrate into the new cultural or professional environment. That is how she formed, wrote out, a unique parallel space – a wide national, public-political and cultural-educational infrastructure (professional societies, scientific institutes, educational institutions, publishing houses, magazines, etc.) – all that is identified with the Ukrainian emigration in general. Another category of Ukrainian immigrants, on the contrary, was or became apolitical and, taking advantage of the circumstances, built an individual professional career in both scientific and professional institutions of the host countries with minimal or no support from emigration organizations. So, for this category of Ukrainian natives, the «trial of emigration» became a positive impulse, because if it remained within the institutional and linguistic boundaries of Ukrainian science, politics, culture, and economy, it would not have been able to achieve such a status and level. Secondly, due to the biological mechanism of interest in this or that knowledge or the right to receive and hide information in general, in particular, and personal information in particular. If obtaining information is somehow understandable, then hiding it is another, because hiding information is a social norm of human life. A person who does not hide anything causes legitimate fears about his mental health and suspicions of a high-quality conspiracy, professional legend (legendarity). It is also important that the higher a person is on the social ladder, the more he has to hide. (Otherwise, how would she have gotten there at all?) Accordingly, the secrets of each of the social/political/professional emigration hierarchies are innumerable, like Polubotka's gold. The biography of Trokhym Pasichnyk belongs to the category of so-called mystified biographies. Among those silenced are the biographies of Petro Savytskyi, Fedir Sumnevych and Nina Dyachenko‑Hordash, Mykola Tymchenko and Mykola Skydan. The first three are silenced due to apoliticalness, a conscious attempt to take advantage of the circumstances. While the biographies of the last two are kept silent mostly due to a number of life circumstances and much less due to political cautions.

Malorossianism in contemporary Ukrainian historical and journalistic discourse

The article is devoted to the analysis of the concept of “Malorossianism” in the modern Ukrainian scientific discourse. Leaders of the Ukrainian national movement in the Russian Empire argued about Malorossianism. They considered it a negative phenomenon, a mental inferiority complex, provincialism. During the Bolsheviks’ policy of Ukrainianization in the territory of Soviet Ukraine, disputes about the legitimacy of the name “Malorossi” began to cease. The Bolsheviks chose the term “Ukrainian” as the official name of the population of the Soviet republic. During the period of Soviet Ukrainianization, the name “Maloross” became synonymous with the oppressive policies of the tsarist government. Outside the Soviet republic, proponents of the Ukrainian idea continued to write about the Malorossians and Malorossianism. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the question of Malorossianism became popular again in modern Ukraine. Modern Ukrainian specialists actively write about Malorossianism and consider it a negative phenomenon. Specialists in the field of literary and cultural studies, as well as specialists in other branches of social sciences write about it. The concept is often found in historical and historical-politological and historical-philosophical works. In modern domestic literature it is not given enough attention. This article examines the concept of Malorossianism, which is characteristic of modern Ukrainian science and Ukrainian historical grand narrative.

The need to reform the system of assessment of research activities is due to the need to use proven international approaches that allow timely response to dynamic changes in economic and social life. In particular, it is important to introduce integrated monitoring models that take into account both qualitative and quantitative aspects of the work of scientific institutions. This involves regular analysis of the dynamics of key performance indicators, covering all stages of the research process – from planning to implementation of results in the practical field. The development and adaptation of such mechanisms is an important step in the formation of a competitive scientific system capable of meeting modern challenges and integrating into the global scientific space. Especially important is the formation of tools for tracking the impact of managerial and regulatory decisions on the state of scientific research. This will allow us to identify weaknesses in time, adjust areas of activity and ensure the competitiveness of Ukrainian science in the international arena. In combination with global approaches, these measures will contribute to the creation of a management system focused on achieving strategic goals for the development of science. The aim of the article is a theoretical generalization of professional sources and a further development of the methodological support for assessing the quality of scientific activity. Monitoring as a complex process of systematic research and analysis is focused on identifying the compliance of actual results with certain goals and expectations. In the field of assessing the quality of scientific research, monitoring covers tracking key trends in the development of science, the dynamics of innovation processes, as well as their interaction with the external environment. Such comprehensive observation allows you to assess not only intermediate results, but also to predict long-term consequences and determine directions for further development. Modern science demonstrates the growing role of collective research carried out by analytical groups and independent experts. Projects implemented on a competitive basis are of particular importance, because they contribute to the introduction of innovative approaches and the involvement of a wide range of specialists. Often, such initiatives are funded by international foundations, which creates opportunities for the global integration of scientific knowledge, but at the same time increases the risks of incompatibility of assessment methodologies. An important element of ensuring the effectiveness of monitoring is the standardization of approaches, which contributes to the objectivity and comparability of results. These principles are especially relevant for the analysis of the activities of scientific institutions. For example, conducting a comparative analysis within terms of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine allows not only to assess the current state of individual industries, but also to identify the strengths and weaknesses of research institutions. Monitoring with use of modern analytical approaches serves as an important tool for improving science management. Its results not only form recommendations for optimizing scientific activities, but also lay the foundation for the integration of national science into the international context. In a globalized world, this requires a balance between adaptation to international standards and preservation of the uniqueness of national scientific traditions. This approach allows for more effective use of the existing potential of science, strengthening its competitiveness and international influence.

COMPETENCES OF A PRESCHOOL TEACHER IN UKRAINE (SELEKTED ASPEKT)

The article is devoted to the issues of competences of a contemporary teacher of preschool education in Ukraine. An analysis of selected positions of Ukrainian researchers on the competences of teachers in the context of new educational challenges was carried out. Aim of the research: The aim of the article is to present and analyse the issues related to the competences of contemporary preschool teachers in Ukraine and to get acquainted with the position of Ukrainian scientists in this field. State of knowledge: In the works of Ukrainian scientists dealing with the presented issue, the following competences of preschool teachers necessary to perform the profession are most often mentioned: communication, organisational, methodological, planning, moral-ethical, IT, design, competences in the field of health care for children and lifelong learning. The competences of a preschool teacher is largely determined by a number of external factors (the state of education, organisation of training, status of teachers, demographic situation, equipment of preschools) and internal factors (personality traits, level of vocational preparation, theoretical knowledge and practical skills, improvement and further vocational education). The sum of all these factors forms the basis for the development of professional competences of the teacher, both in the positive and negative aspect. Summary: The conducted analysis of selected issues in the field of competences of a preschool teacher in Ukraine shows the spectrum of positions of Ukrainian scientists in the context of determining the key knowledge and skills that should be available to a teacher working with children. In the activities of teachers, an important place is occupied by the use of elements of folklore in working with children, taking into account regional specificities (fairy tales, songs, dance, games, art, crafts and ceremonial arts). In the scientific discussion, the issue of improvement and further training of teachers takes up a lot of space.

Science Fiction in Ukraine: 1920–2020

The variability in the genre of Ukrainian science fiction (SF) has always been determined by the requirements of the time and the political situation. That is why the fiction of the 1920s promoted the ideology of naive techno-communism, but during the next forty years it became obvious that the Soviet project had reached a dead end, and its positivist component had not brought the desired results. Ukrainian SF writers then turned to mysticism and denial of a rational view of the world.

Peculiarities of Creating Surnames from the Appelative Nebesa and Their Territorial Dissemination in Ukraine

This article is devoted to the ways and means of creating surnames from the appellative nebesa and their territorial dissemination in Ukraine. It provides a review of the scientific works of the Ukrainian linguists on the theoretical and applied aspects of the Ukrainian surnames study (the works of I. Varchenko, V. Horpynych, A. Popovskiy, Yu. Pradid, Yu. Redko, M. Khudash, etc.), their lexicographic elaboration both in general (V. Demchenko and I. Lopushinsky, A. Zosimov, Yu. Redko, and others.), and in certain regions of Ukraine, in particular (G. Arkushyn, V. Horpynych, Yu. Novikova, P. Chuchka, and others). They served as the theoretical and methodological basis of the study.&#x0D; A review of the scientific papers by the Ukrainian scientists gives reasons to conclude that the surnames derived from the appellative nebesa, as well as other similar microsystems, were almost not studied in Ukrainian linguistic science, except for a few works by Y. Pradid.&#x0D; The study has identified a group of surnames derived from the appellative nebesa in the system of surnames in Ukraine, numbering a total of 22 surnames. However, only 4 out of 22 surnames became the basis for the creation of new surnames, and no new surnames were formed from the rest.&#x0D; The most common surname of the studied microsystem is the surname Nebesna (601 cases), and most of all derived surnames are formed from the surname Nebes (7 surnames).&#x0D; The analysis of the actual material gave grounds to assert that the main way of creating surnames derived from the appellative nebesa is the suffixation (10 surnames). Most often, the suffixes -yuk (3 cases), -k- (2 cases) are used to create new surnames. Eight female surnames are formed in the inflectional way from the stems of male surnames.&#x0D; The study findings argue that surnames derived from other names, double and rare surnames, surnames common in certain territories, surnames of social groups and some others require further research.

The Current State Of Scientific Support In Investigating Criminal Offenses Involving Illegal Takeover And Seizure Of Enterprises And Their Assets

In order to ensure sustainable development of economy and national security, which includes economic security, it is crucial to create corresponding protection instruments and support the unhindered legitimate operation of economic entities. To prevent infringements upon their rights, such as illegal takeovers and seizures of enterprises, organizations, and institutions of various ownership forms, encroachments on their property, assets, and land plots, it is necessary to ensure appropriate countermeasures against such occurrences, in particular, through criminal and criminal procedural methods. To support activities aimed at countering these phenomena through criminal procedural methods, it is vital to ensure scientific development of relevant aspects associated with such activities. In this context, the Article Purpose is to determine the current state of scientific support for investigating criminal offenses involving the illegal takeover and seizure of enterprises, institutions, organizations, their property, and agricultural land plots. On the basis of generalizing normative provisions of the current criminal legislation, theoretical developments of Ukrainian scientists, the paper outlines scientific development peculiarities of the problematics related to criminal responsibility for offenses associated with takeovers, as well as research and development of the methodology for investigating these offenses.

Культурна співпраця України та Польщі наприкінці 20 – у перших десятиліттях 21 ст. в контексті євроінтеграції: аспекти української історіографії

The purpose of the article is a systematic analysis of the available works of Ukrainian scientists on the studied issues by thematic blocks for a more detailed coverage of individual aspects and regular processes of Ukrainian-Polish cultural cooperation. The research methodology is based on general scientific methods, such as systematization, generalization, analysis and synthesis, and special scientific methods, in particular, historical-genetic, historical-comparative, hermeneutic, as well as the principles of historicism, objectivity, and scientificity. The scientific novelty lies in highlighting the patterns of the formation of the national historiographical opinion on Ukrainian-Polish relations, taking into account the European integration processes in both states, which undoubtedly influenced the construction of interstate cultural relations. However, these aspects are not sufficiently represented in the writings of modern Ukrainian historians, which reveals the prerequisites for a more detailed study of the outlined issues. Conclusions. Modern European integration processes, conditions of rapid globalization and the common historical path of development of Ukraine and Poland contribute to increasing the relevance of the subject of Ukrainian-Polish cooperation among historical studies. The perspective of these studies directly affects the growth of scientific interest among Ukrainian historians in the analysis of certain aspects of the interaction between Ukraine and Poland at the current stage, which we can observe by analyzing the relevant array of works in historiography. The authors often lean towards a thematic approach and analysis of individual components of cultural interaction of both states, presenting concrete examples of manifestations and characteristic features of inter-ethnic dialogue. The available number of relevant works allows for comprehensive studies of the strategy and retrospective and dynamics of Ukrainian-Polish relations during the last decades. However, the lack of works that reveal mutual influences and interdependencies between European integration and the cultural dialogue of Ukraine and Poland represents a significant potential for scientific development in this field in the future.

TRANSLATION AND TEACHING OF CLASSICAL ANCIENT GREEK LITERATURE IN UKRAINE: CULTURAL INFLUENCE AND HISTORICAL DIMENSION

The article studies the translation of the Ancient Greek literature into Ukrainian as an important and historically conditioned process that influenced the translation tradition in Ukraine. The authors trace the history of translation dating from the period of Kyivan Rus to modern times by applying linguistic, chronological and thematic approaches. As a result of the conducted study the authors define main directions and trends of assimilation of the classical Ancient Greek literature by the Ukrainian context through translation in its cultural and historical dimension, as well as characterize the translations of the Ukrainian scientists and outline their contribution into the classical literature corpus formation. It has been revealed that in different historical periods, translated literature performed definite functions (it was used in religious worship, as the material for original literature creation, in intellectual discussions). Since the 19th century, there existed a tendency when translators (M. Zerov, I. Franko, Lesya Ukrainka, V. Svidzinskyi, P. Nishchynskyi, M. Rylskyi, G. Kochur, Borys Ten, M. Lukash, M. Moskalenko, A. Sodomora, etc.), guided by their own preferences, cultural trends, national needs, political attitudes, consciously chose original texts for translation, carried out scientific investigations and added commentaries to their publications, thereby creating a scientific discussion in the Ukrainian society. It was also found out that translations of Homer's works into Ukrainian led to the emergence of a certain translational tradition (the same phenomenon is observed in Western Europe), when Ukrainian translators developed a methodology that allowed them not only to convey the ideological and content component of the original poems, but also to reproduce the rhyming of ancient poetry. The paper concludes that modern translators from the Ancient Greek language continue to popularize ancient literature and the legacy of the holy fathers, thereby supporting the continuity of the Ukrainian school of translation.

Farewells to the War and Military Magic in the Folklore of the Cossack Period: Relationship with the Funeral Rite

The articleis aimed at the studying the military magic of Zaporizhzhya, Register and Black Sea Cossacks, as well as the rituals associated with their farewell to a land and sea campaigns. Main research methods include descriptive, comparative and comparative-historical ones. The source base is formed with folklore texts of the 16th–18th centuries, in particular, Ukrainian folk dumas, songs, prayers and incantations, as well as ethnographic descriptions of rituals and magical practices related to war. The authoress uses both previously published materials and her own recordings made during the last decade. The theoretical basis for the article consists of the works of predecessors, Ukrainian scientists of the 19th–20th centuries Mykola Kostomarov, Mykola Sementovskyi, Vasyl Myloradovych, Dmytro Yavornytskyi, Kateryna Hrushevska, Prokop Korolenko, and others, who have published a number of primary sources and attempted to analyze them. The scientific novelty of the work concerns the fact that it is the first comprehensive folkloristic study where a comparative analysis of collective and individual magical practices of the Cossack period is carried out. They are supposed to ensure the victory of the Cossack army over the enemy and save the life of every Cossack. All available materials indicate that the ritual of the farewell to war in Cossack times belongs to the rites of passage and is most closely related typologically to the funeral ritual, namely to the symbolic funeral. It duplicates such key elements of the funeral as preparation for death (preparation of new clothes, confession and communion of the Holy Mysteries), a ritualized form of farewell to relatives and the whole community, the use of occasional folklore forms (wishes, blessings, formulas of reconciliation with neighbours), ritual bringing the Cossacks out of «their» cultural space (house, yard, village), mourning a Cossack who goes on a campaign, a joint meal. The same places of farewell also appear: a threshold, a gate, the border of a settlement. Thus, sending off to war can be considered one of the forms of a symbolic funeral.

The researcher was closely associated with the Zoological Section of the Ukrainian Scientific Society and the Zoological Museum of the All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, where his collections are still being housed. The bulk of his research was carried out in the vicinity of Kyiv, but he also has collections from Kherson, Abkhazia, and Primorskyi Krai.
