Is Transformational Military Leadership Out There? An Exploratory Research Study of Military Teams in Action

Transformational leadership has entered the doctrines of many militaries and has become a fundamental aspect of military training and an aspiration in military practice. However, prior research has not sought to analyze the in situ doing of leadership on combat zone service. To address this research gap, using video and audio-recordings of Danish soldiers on combat service in Afghanistan in 2018, this article takes an inductive and qualitative discursive approach to leadership. More specifically, it investigates the extent to which behaviors associated with transformational leadership are observable in the in situ practice of army teams. We present this article as exploratory research which analyzes what is happening in a limited number of cases to come up with tentative conclusions that suggest avenues for further research that may be investigated in more extensive studies.

Developing an integrated model for remote teaching amelioration with artificial intelligence (AI) awareness

Purpose This research aims to propose a high-performance-based model of remote teaching where trained teachers (those who deliver lectures by using different tools i.e. Microsoft Team, Zoom, etc.) can get the desired results through artificial intelligence (AI) awareness, knowledge sharing and transformational leadership in the future. Design/methodology/approach This research is quantitative in nature and convenience sampling is followed to gather data from 307 trained faculty (those who deliver lectures by using different tools i.e. Microsoft Team, Zoom, learning management systems, etc.) from various universities of the federal capital territory (FCT) Islamabad and district Rawalpindi of Punjab province, Pakistan who worked online from home during novel corona lockdown. SmartPLS is used for data analysis and structural equation modeling is performed to test the suggested model. Findings Results revealed that AI awareness has a significant positive influence on knowledge sharing but exhibited a negative significant impact on teacher performance. Likewise, knowledge sharing acts as a partial mediator; however, transformational leadership moderates between remote working and knowledge sharing. Originality/value During the pandemic, the mode of instruction shifted from physical to online, generating several barriers for teachers who were used to on-campus teaching. This research presented an effective model for knowing the mechanism of possible and reliable implications at educational institutions of developing countries to get the desired outcomes of effective online teaching in calamity situations.

A Systematic Literature Review on the Relationship Between Emotional Intelligence and Transformational Leadership—A Critical Approach

The aim of this paper is to fill the identified gap in the literature regarding a holistic approach to the relationship between emotional intelligence (EI) and transformational leadership (TL). In fact, this paper contributes to the annotation of the literature in this particular field through a selective bibliography, aiming to cover the main contributors to the development of this topic and explore their different views in order to critically approach the pros and cons, producing implications for academia and organizations. A leader who applies the transformational style is able to indirectly or directly influence the efficiency of employees through increased levels of emotional intelligence and developed cognitive skills. The purpose of this paper is to examine the correlation between EI and TL. A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted for papers published from 2000 onwards (21st century). Published papers were selected from international scientific journals that have been indexed as Q1 or Q2 (best quartiles) in the SJR database fields of business, management, and accounting. For the initial screening, the Google Scholar database was used to access papers through the following keywords: emotional intelligence, transformational leadership, organizational behavior, management, and organizational development. Furthermore, SLR’s PRISMA flow chart indicated the most suitable papers to be analyzed in the context of this paper. The research yielded 16 published studies confirming the positive relationship between EI and TL and 9 papers questioning it. These papers have been analyzed to open a discussion and draw conclusions. Research on the relationship between transformational leadership and emotional intelligence demonstrate a positive correlation in the majority, while there are some who question it.

The Influence of Leadership Management on Entrepreneurial Innovation in Computer Network Projects

In today's digital era, computer network projects are crucial for companies as they provide the infrastructure for communication, data exchange, and sharing. Effective project management, which requires strong leadership, is essential for success. Leadership management plays a key role in influencing the outcomes of computer networking projects by fostering creativity and entrepreneurship. Innovative leadership encourages risk-taking, creativity, and experimentation, which are vital for developing new products, services, or processes. Entrepreneurship promotes proactivity, flexibility, and responsiveness to changing market conditions. This study explores the relationship between leadership and innovation, highlighting that leadership style, behavior, and abilities are critical in driving innovation and entrepreneurship. However, the specific challenges and opportunities in computer networking projects necessitate further research. This research aims to fill the gap by investigating how management leadership influences innovation and entrepreneurship in computer networking projects and identifying the key leadership competencies required. Using a quantitative approach and correlational research design, the study finds a significant positive relationship between transformational leadership and entrepreneurial innovation (path coefficient 0.75, p < 0.01), and between transactional leadership and entrepreneurial innovation (path coefficient 0.42, p < 0.05). However, no significant relationship is found between field leadership and entrepreneurial innovation. The findings suggest that both transactional and transformational leadership contribute to groundbreaking innovation in computer networking projects. Therefore, project leaders should enhance their leadership skills to achieve higher levels of innovation in these projects.

The Influence Of Transformational Leadership Style, Work Motivation, And Work Discipline On The Performance Of Employees Of RSUD Mojokerto District

In the era of Industry 4.0, the competition among companies has become increasingly fierce, prompting organizations to strive to maintain and develop themselves to achieve success. One of the key factors supporting the sustainability and development of an organization is human resources, which serve as a benchmark for success to achieve organizational goals. Using SPSS data analysis techniques with a path analysis approach, correlation tests, determination tests, simultaneous tests, and partial tests with a sample size of 75 employees, the results of this study show that leadership style, motivation, and work discipline significantly influence employee performance. Partially, only work discipline has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, while leadership style and motivation do not significantly influence employee performance but positively impact it. Furthermore, this study finds that work discipline has the most substantial influence on employee performance. The research used a saturated sample, which includes the entire population of 50 respondents. The quantitative method was applied, and the analysis used multiple linear regression, T-tests, F-tests, and classical assumption tests using SPSS version 25. The questionnaire employed in this research has been validated and tested for reliability. Based on the findings, transformational leadership style significantly influences employee performance, along with work motivation and employee discipline.

The mediating effect of employer branding on the relationship between transformational leadership and organisational commitment in the South African telecoms sector

PurposeThis study sought to investigate the mediation effect of employer branding on the relationship between transformational leadership and organisational commitment.Design/methodology/approachBased on an extensive literature review, a structured questionnaire was designed, and data were collected from 400 managers in the South African telecoms sector. Statistical analyses were done using SMART PLS 4.FindingsThe study established that while transformational leadership positively impacted organisational commitment, employer branding partially mediated the relationship between the two variables.Originality/valueLittle is empirically known about the mediation mechanism of employer branding on the relationship between transformational leadership and organisational commitment in the South African telecoms sector. This study, therefore, brings new insights that are important for decision-making.

PENGARUH GAYA KEPEMIMPINAN TERHADAP KINERJA SDM DAN KUALITAS LULUSAN MAHASISWA DI POLITEKNIK ABCD JAKARTA

This study discusses the influence of leadership style on human resource (HR) performance and the quality of student graduates at ABCD Jakarta Polytechnic. This study aims to analyze the impact of leadership style applied by institutional leaders on HR performance and the quality of student graduates. The research method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to lecturers, administrative staff, and students, as well as in-depth interviews to gain further perspectives. The results of the study indicate that the dominant authoritarian leadership style in this institution contributes to employee performance which is only at a moderate level and the quality of graduates that is not optimal. In contrast, transformational and participatory leadership styles have been shown to have a significant positive influence in increasing motivation, HR performance, and graduate quality. The main recommendation of this study is the need for a shift in leadership style from authoritarian to a more inclusive and supportive style to improve overall institutional performance.

Leadership, Gender, and School Culture: Navigating Power and Resistance in Education

This paper investigates the ongoing gender inequalities within education systems, influenced by globalization and entrenched power dynamics that often limit gender inclusivity. Global initiatives aimed at gender equality frequently adopt a universalist approach, yet this can mask intersectional disparities and reinforce hegemonic masculinity, especially through the spread of Western masculine ideals. Within educational institutions, heteronormative and cisnormative school cultures frequently marginalize non-heterosexual identities, creating challenging environments for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) students. Although anti-discrimination policies exist, many teachers lack adequate training to address gender and sexuality issues, leading to adverse academic and social outcomes for marginalized students. The study reveals that traditional educational leadership often reinforces conventional gender norms, while transformational leadership grounded in social justice is essential to fostering inclusivity and addressing intersecting inequalities. The findings underscore the need for structural reforms to establish supportive and equitable school settings that acknowledge and celebrate diverse gender identities

Linking green transformational leadership to employee green behavior: The moderating role of green psychological climate

There has been significant scholarly interest in the phenomenon of employee green behavior, largely due to its perceived impact on organizational ecological performance. In this research we examined the impact of green transformational leadership on employee green behavior, with a particular focus on the moderating effect of green psychological climate. We administered a survey to 425 part-time Master of Business Administration students, and the results demonstrated that both green transformational leadership and green psychological climate were significant predictors of employee green behavior. Furthermore, green psychological climate moderated the relationship between green transformational leadership and employee green behavior. These findings make a valuable contribution to the existing research by shedding light on the interplay among green transformational leadership, green psychological climate, and employee green behavior.

This article explores integrating transformational leadership in educational settings, focusing on balancing accountability with innovation while fostering sustainability and global citizenship. The primary objective is to develop a theoretical framework that illustrates how academic leaders can effectively align these elements to enhance student outcomes and community engagement. A qualitative research design was employed, incorporating a literature review and case studies of five exemplary schools. The findings revealed that successful transformational leadership involves redefining accountability, promoting innovative teaching practices and embedding global citizenship into the curriculum. Key challenges include resistance to change, balancing assessment pressures and ensuring adequate professional development. However, schools implementing these strategies report can improve student engagement, academic performance, and community involvement. In conclusion, transformational leadership is essential for navigating the complexities of modern education. It empowers schools to thrive amidst accountability demands while fostering innovation and global awareness. The article recommends that educational leaders prioritise flexible assessment methods, invest in continuous professional development, and build strong community partnerships to sustain these initiatives. By adopting this comprehensive approach, schools can better prepare students to become responsible and engaged citizens in an increasingly interconnected world.

Safeguarding older adults in residential care settings: lessons from Kouzes and Posner's transformational leadership model.

Various styles and models of leadership can be used in nursing practice, with transformational leadership generally considered to be the most effective style. This article explores the application of Kouzes and Posner's Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership framework to the safeguarding of residents from abuse in residential care settings in the Republic of Ireland. The authors outline and critically evaluate Kouzes and Posner's five fundamental leadership practices in this context. While this transformational leadership framework offers a comprehensive approach, emphasising emotional connection and empowerment, the authors consider its practical applicability in a highly regulated healthcare environment. The authors' analysis highlights the strengths and limitations of the model in this context, particularly in fostering a culture of safety and accountability among nursing teams. They conclude that while Kouzes and Posner's model provides valuable insights, its idealistic nature may require adaptation to effectively address the complex realities of safeguarding older adults living in residential care settings.

Transformational Leadership: Strategies for Creating Green Environments in Indonesian Schools

The primary aim of this study is to explore how transformational leadership influences school management and to identify effective strategies that support sustainable environmental development. This qualitative research employs case studies involving school principals, five teachers, three students, and three parents from junior high schools in Malang City that have implemented green school (Adiwiyata) programs. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and document analysis. Triangulation was used to analyze the data, ensuring the accuracy and credibility of the findings. The results indicate that transformational leadership is crucial in implementing green school policies by fostering stakeholder motivation and engagement in sustainability practices. Key challenges include resistance to change and limited resources. Effective strategies involve enhancing leadership training, fostering participatory policy development, and integrating environmentally friendly technologies. This study offers valuable insights for improving managerial practices in green schools and advancing environmental sustainability in the education sector.

Influence Tactics of Leaders: The Role of Ray Kroc’s Transformational Leadership in Shaping McDonald’s Organizational Culture and Global Success

Leadership plays a central role in determining organizational success, especially in the context of competitive global business. Ray Kroc, the figure behind McDonald’s success, is known as a transformational leader capable of turning a small restaurant into a leading global fast-food chain. This study aims to analyze the application of the Model of Power and Influence in Kroc's leadership, particularly in building an organizational culture based on innovation, efficiency, and adaptability. Using a literature review approach, data were obtained from scientific journals, books, and credible reports. The analysis shows that Kroc integrated influence tactics such as rational persuasion, inspirational appeals, and consultation to create commitment, compliance, and overcome resistance within the organization. Innovations such as the Speedee Service System reflect a rational persuasion approach that enhanced operational efficiency. Inspiration was instilled through core values such as Quality, Service, Cleanliness, and Value. Consultation with franchise partners ensured local adaptation without sacrificing global standards. As a result, McDonald’s achieved customer loyalty, employee compliance, and consistent global expansion. Kroc's transformational leadership demonstrates how the application of the Model of Power and Influence can create a highly competitive organizational culture and long-term sustainability. This study emphasizes the importance of combining vision, strategy, and influence tactics in building a successful global organization.

Analysis of components and find mechanism models to promote digital transformational leadership of school administrators

The research aimed to: 1) analyze components and indicators of digital transformation leadership among school administrators, 2) assess their leadership needs, and 3) develop mechanism models to promote this leadership. A mixed-method approach was applied, involving three sample groups: 8 experts, 406 administrators, and 7 experts. Data collection tools included semi-structured interviews, leadership scales, needs assessments, and focus group discussions, with analysis performed through construct validity testing, needs assessment, and content analysis. The findings revealed: 1) The components and indicators of digital transformation leadership showed structural validity, as confirmed by the model’s alignment with empirical data (Chi-Square = 82.3, df = 65, p = 0.072, CFI = 0.998, TLI = 0.997, RMR = 0.00965, RMSEA = 0.0256). 2) Among the leadership components, “innovative knowledge” ranked highest in need (PNImodified = 0.075), followed by “ideological influence” (0.066), “consideration of individuality” (0.055), “intellectual stimulation” (0.052), and “inspiration” (0.053). 3) Mechanism models for promoting leadership emphasized enhancing these five components to strengthen administrators’ skills in applying technology, managing teaching and development plans, and fostering innovation. Administrators were encouraged to tailor strategies to individual needs, inspire personnel, and create a commitment to organizational change and development. These mechanisms aim to equip administrators to effectively lead transformations, motivate staff, and drive educational institutions to adapt and thrive in evolving environments.

Transformational leadership model as a strategy to optimize the work environment for teachers in educational institutions

The transformational leadership model as a strategy to optimize the work environment for teachers in educational institutions proposes a transformational approach to strengthen the workplace atmosphere among educators. Using a quantitative methodology and a non-experimental cross-sectional design, the research involved 65 participants, including teachers and administrative staff, who responded to surveys with 64 questions. The data analysis, conducted using SPSS software and validated through the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test (p < 0.001), confirmed that implementing a transformational leadership model significantly improves the work environment. The results emphasize that this leadership approach, based on motivation and personal development, positively impacts collaboration and productivity within the educational institution, highlighting its potential to optimize the organizational climate in academic environments.

The use of assessment centers as a means to develop transformational leadership.

Today's workplace continually requires organizations to empower employees to go beyond their job description to help maintain a competitive edge in the market. Developing transformational leadership in an organization is one means in which a company can attempt to empower and inspire their employees. However, thus far there are a limited number of tools to assist in the development of transformational leadership. The following exploratory review sought to examine the potential use of an assessment center as a means to develop transformational leadership. The topic was examined by analyzing both the assessment center and transformational leadership literatures. The literatures were obtained via a search on Ebscohost and Google scholar databases. The intersection of the literatures was used to develop a proposed framework for the transformational leadership development center that includes suggested dimensions, exercises, and future approaches. This article aims to develop an innovative model of transformational leadership in wartime that addresses these challenges and opportunities to strengthen organizational resilience and enhance competitiveness. The object of the study is current leadership trends and their impact on management effectiveness. The methodological foundation includes a comparative analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of various leadership styles and empirical research methods to identify effective management approaches. Structural and systemic approaches enabled the integration of diverse leadership elements into a unified model that is resilient and adaptable to dynamic conditions. The study results confirmed the importance of combining adaptive, innovative, inclusive, and ethical approaches to form a resilient management strategy that allows rapid responses to challenges. The findings of the study are of paramount importance, as they provide a robust model for transformational leadership in wartime. The practical value of the article lies in the recommendations developed for implementing the proposed model, which can be adapted to the needs of any organization, regardless of its scale, industry, or specific features. Such recommendations promote not only increased organizational resilience in crisis conditions but also foster conditions for long-term development and competitive advantage.

Systematic Literature Review : Importance Of Knowledge Sharing on Organization (Antecedents & Consequences

Sharing knowledge (Knowledge Sharing) is considered important to encourageemployee behavior to improve employee performance and influence the results that leaders want fortheir members, for this reason the author concentrates on finding answers to what factors influencea person's decision to share their knowledge with colleagues. This research examines theoriesrelated to knowledge sharing behavior, by concluding 37 journals that discuss knowledge sharing.The author concludes that there are many factors that influence knowledge sharing behavior. Theresearch started by searching for data on journal banks such as Scopusm, Emerald, ScienceDirect,Google Scholar, and other supporting websites, after that the author studied and grouped theantecedents of this knowledge sharing behavior, and concluded that knowledge sharing behaviorwas discussed in 5 different journals as an antecedent of knowledge behavior. This sharing andbehavior is influenced by several factors such as organizational commitment (OC), ethicalleadership (EL). Transformational Leadership, and Trust, as well as knowledge sharing research have been widely researched in various organizational sectors, especially profit organizations.

Sustainability‐Oriented Leadership and Business Strategy: Examining the Roles of Procedural Environmental Justice and Job Embeddedness

ABSTRACTOrganizations are progressively focusing on their sustained growth by designing and implementing environmentally friendly policies. However, their environmental performance depends on their employees' proenvironmental behavior and the firm's sustainability policies. Previous research has provided evidence that environmentally specific servant leadership, transformational leadership, ethical leadership, spiritual leadership, and charismatic (value‐based) leadership enhance employee organizational citizenship behavior toward the environment (OCBE). However, limited research examines the role of sustainability‐oriented leadership (SOL) in maturing employees' OCBE. This research examines the SOL–employee OCBE linkage mediated through mechanisms like perceived environmental justice and affective commitment to one's supervisor under varying permutations of employee job embeddedness (EJE). More specifically, this paper examines SOL's direct, indirect, and moderated effects on OCBE through perceived environmental justice and employee commitment toward the leader under disparate EJE levels. The empirical findings confirm a direct impact of SOL on employees' OCBE. It was also evident that SOL significantly and indirectly influences employees' OCBE through procedural environmental justice under disparate levels of job embeddedness. The paper advances academic and managerial understanding on OCBE proliferate in organization. Besides enriching literature, the study's findings provide valuable insights to organizations seeking to enhance OCBE through fostering SOL, PEJ, and EJE.

A Conceptual Framework for the Interplay of Leadership, Technology, Total Quality Management, and Sustainable Practices in Driving Organizational Performance and Innovation: A Multi-Sector Analysis

In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, organizations face the challenge of improving operational efficiency and fostering innovation while maintaining service quality and employee well-being. This conceptual study develops a comprehensive framework that integrates leadership styles, technology integration, Total Quality Management (TQM), and sustainable business practices to drive organizational performance and innovation. The framework draws on existing literature to explore how transformational, servant, and knowledge-oriented leadership styles influence employee well-being, creativity, and organizational learning, and how these leadership approaches moderate the effects of technological advancements, such as Business Intelligence (BI) tools and blockchain. The study highlights the role of TQM in enhancing service quality, customer satisfaction, and retention, particularly in sectors such as healthcare. Additionally, sustainable business practices, including environmental and human resource sustainability, are shown to foster innovation, reduce operational costs, and improve organizational reputation. By focusing on multi-sector contexts, particularly in developing economies, the research provides insights into how organizations can achieve long-term growth and competitiveness by integrating these key elements. The study also suggests future research directions, including empirical validation of the framework, sector-specific studies, and investigations into the role of emerging technologies. This research contributes to the growing body of literature by offering a holistic approach to understanding the interconnectedness of leadership, technology, TQM, and sustainability in driving organizational success.
