Professional practices constitute an important curricular component in university education; In this sense, it is necessary to know in detail their scope and how they should be structured to obtain the expected training contribution from their execution. Through this research, we set out as an objective to analyze the contributions and the importance of carrying out a professional practice within the academic curriculum of public and private universities, as a transcendental factor for the personal and professional life of the student. The methodology used was the documentary exploration of different postulates in curricular and educational matters as well as regulations and derivatives. It is concluded that although the theory can become the fundamental starting point, which provides a specific general culture to the student, the truth is that he must acquire skills, techniques, abilities and analysis of very specific situations, and professional practice or An internship is one of the most important means to acquire these competencies for your graduation profile, which will allow you to function safely and suitably in the labor field in the future.
