Optimization of Strategic Areas in Regional Economic Recovery: Tourism Perspectives

This research contributes in the form of ideas and modeling of tourism potential development in the region. This research uses Soft System Methodology. This method used 4 stages: The first stage, the problem situation is considered problematic. In the second stage, the problem situation is expressed. The third stage is the root definition of the relevant purposeful activity system. The fourth stage is the conceptual models of the system named in the root definition. Based on the research, it was found that Pangandaran Regency, which is a new autonomous region, has tourism potential that can be developed, especially marine tourism that can support the regional economy. On the other hand, tourism potential is influenced by the geographical condition of Pangandaran Regency which is included in the National Tourism Strategic Area so it is hoped that this program can have a significant impact on regional economic recovery efforts. Based on the Regional Government Plan of Pangandaran 2022, it already has various strategies for tourism development, but it has not been able to run optimally due to the absence of a tourism development model as an economic recovery program.

Cultural Heritage and Tourism: The Case of Dellys in Algeria

Cultural heritage is an invaluable resource for the development of cultural tourism. It offers a wide range of economic and social opportunities, contributing to job creation, income generation and the promotion of local identity. However, to fully exploit its potential, heritage needs to be carefully integrated into an overall tourism strategy. Such a strategy must include specific measures for the preservation and enhancement of cultural heritage. Recognizing the profound synergies between cultural heritage preservation and tourism development strategies, we undertook an in-depth analysis of the current heritage situation in the town of Dellys. This analysis identified the challenges and opportunities associated with heritage enhancement in the context of tourism and local development projects. The results reveal that the implementation of the current tourism strategy in Dellys is not fully achieving its objectives. Nevertheless, its effective realization, coupled with better coordination between players in the sector, could make a significant contribution to safeguarding, revitalizing and enhancing the town's heritage.

Development Strategy of Community-Based Tourism in Trate Village, Bojonegoro

Bojonegoro is one of the districts within the administrative area of East Java province. So far, the quite large tourism potential in Trate Village has not been optimally utilized to develop it as a tourist village considering that several obstacles are still found, including weak human resources related to the entrepreneurial spirit, weak understanding of the concept of tourist villages, and so on. This research uses a qualitative approach method with descriptive explanation where the research emphasizes knowing certain phenomena. What is studied in this research is to develop a strategy for developing a community-based Trate tourist village to utilize and optimize the potential of the Trate Tourism Village and to analyze the internal and external factors that influence the development of the Trate tourist village. The results of this research are that the researcher provides the results of the Internal Strategy Factor Analysis (IFAS) in the Trate Tourism Village, obtained with a score on the strength factors of 2.15 and a score on the weakness factors of 1.10 with a total score of 3.25. The results of the analysis of External Strategy Factors (EFAS) in Trate Tourism Village were obtained with a score on the Opportunity Factor of 2.10 and a score on the Threat Factor of 1.25 with a total score of 3.35. The results of the researcher's analysis of processing data on internal factors and external factors in Trate Tourism Village obtained a score for each factor as follows: Score for strength factors = 2.15, Score for weakness factors = 1.10, Score for opportunity factors = 2.10, Score for threat factor = 1.25. The development strategy that must be implemented by the Trate Tourism Village uses the Strength Opportunities (SO) strategy and is applied based on existing strengths by exploiting opportunities in the Trate Tourism Village and taking advantage of opportunities outside the Trate Tourism Village.

Современные тенденции и пути развития внутреннего туризма России в условиях санкций

The article presents an in-depth analysis of current trends in the sphere of domestic tourism in Russia, empha-sizing the consequences of international sanctions and the COVID-19 pandemic. The research aims to identify and assess the impact of these factors on the dynamics of the tourism industry, as well as to develop and test new strategies for its support and development. Utilizing a combination of methods, including statistical data analysis, surveys of tourism operators, and expert interviews, the author thoroughly examines the reduction of international tourist flows and revenues, changes in the travel patterns of Russian citizens and foreign touris ts. The main findings highlight a significant rise in interest in domestic tourism as an adaptive response to the current challenges, strengthening of the tourism infrastructure, and development of key regions in ac-cordance with the tourism development strategy until 2035. The presented analysis emphasizes the need for targeted strategies to stimulate domestic tourism and ensure the sustainable development of the industry in the face of new economic and social realities.

Dark Tourism As A Tourism And Culture Development Strategy In Indonesia

This research aims to (1) determine the potential for tourism and dark tourism culture in Indonesia; (2) knowing the strategy for developing tourism and culture through dark tourism. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. The data sources used in this research were obtained from books, websites and literature related to dark tourism as a tourism and culture development strategy in Indonesia. The analysis used in this research is SWOT analysis. The results of this research show that (1) the development of the attraction of dark tourism in Indonesia has great potential. Indonesia has a lot of dark tourism with historical and cultural values that attract tourists; (2) strategies for developing tourism and culture through dark tourism include marketing planning for dark tourism as tourism and culture, creating a dark tourism concept, collaborating with tourism agencies and private parties to support dark tourism, and education and promotion of dark tourism programs.

The attractiveness of rural tourism as special interest tourism: Case study on natural attractions in Bogor District

Tourism has become an activity of the needs of society in general, Tourism has become the main necessity of human life so that many tourists want to take a vacation to tourist attractions that they are interested in. There is a gap/problem that can be seen from this phenomenon, namely along with the development of tourism there is a problem called mass-tourism. Mass tourism occurs due to activities focused only on the most popular tourist attractions. This research was conducted to determine the potential for special interest tourism activities in Bogor Regency to minimize potential of mass tourism. The research method used qualitative methods with a case study approach. Data collection carried out is literature review, in-depth interviews, survey, and documentation. The interview data collected was analysed using triangulation techniques. Bogor Regency has a geographical type that falls into the category of rural tourism, which is dominated by highlands and many natural attractions have 20 attractions in the particular interest tourism category. Unique interest tourism attractions such as nature trekking, camping, mountain hiking, forest exploration, tourist / traditional villages, and agro-tourism. Tourists are interested in visiting special interest tourism objects with the highest percentage of 85.7%. The uniqueness and Novelty of this research is done to find out special interest tourism attractions in Bogor regency. The topic of previous research that is used as a reference in this research is tourism potential and tourism development strategies in Bogor regency.

Natural Tourism planning and sustainable tourism in Libya The case of the Derna region

The Derna region experienced a violent hurricane in 2023 that destroyed much of the infrastructure and residential neighborhoods. The area requires extensive reconstruction that takes into account the natural and touristic qualities of the place, beyond the obvious shortcomings in tourism planning processes. It is time to pay attention to this important sector, by adopting urban plans that are updated and modified according to circumstances in order to create a sustainable tourism project.
 The Derna region in eastern Libya is one of the cities that, if it benefits from tourism urban programs adopted within a national strategy for sustainable tourism development, will constitute a tourism pole not only in Libya but also at the regional level. The area is coastal, characterized by stunning natural landscapes with the presence of the sea, valley and plateaus. It is also located within a rich tourism field that provides the practice of various types that attract tourists at different levels, capabilities and ambitions, and establishes true sustainable tourism. However, the effectiveness of the tourism sector in the region and in all cities of the Libyan country is still modest in its practice compared to the opportunities and capabilities available. It also does not have sustainability requirements, as it does not have an effective tourism plan. This requires a redoubled effort to overcome various challenges and create a sustainable future tourism project.

Collaborative Synergies for Elevated Destination Experiences: A Model of Cooperation between Hotel Companies, DMOs, and Local Stakeholders

Abstract Background and Purpose As outlined in the National Tourism Development Strategy until 2030, Croatia aims to provide higher value, innovative, sustainable, and authentic tourist experiences. There is a need to examine how the main tourism stakeholders can contribute to the transformation of traditional and commodified tourism products into premium-class offerings that add value throughout the entire value chain. It is important for premium-class hotels to take additional steps in improving their offerings to positively impact the entire destination and enhance service quality. This paper aims to: explore initiatives for promoting innovation in premium-class experiences within destinations focusing the cooperation between on hotel companies and DMOs; identify anticipated trends influencing the future of the tourism industry, and assess the future prospects of premium-class hotels in Croatia. Design/Methodology/Approach The methodology incorporated both quantitative and qualitative approaches, driven by the structured nature of the questions in the online survey that target sales and/or marketing directors of hotel companies that have premium-class hotels in their portfolio. Suitable statistical methods were employed to conduct the analysis for the quantitative portion of the data. Content analysis was utilized to analyze the open-ended questions. For this purpose, the MAXQDA software for coding, categorizing, and exploring patterns within the data. Originality/value This study represents one of the pioneering investigations into the essential initiatives that hotel companies need to undertake in order to orchestrate the development of a destination that relies on its premium-class experiences. Furthermore, the study examines the role of supporting institutions such as destination management organizations (DMOs) in facilitating this process. A conceptual model to improve the development of the premium hotel segment and destination at the same time, pursued by the responsible practices and initiatives of the hotel companies and strong partnerships with DMO and the local community, is proposed.

Wellness Tourism Development Strategy In Madura Based on Local Wisdom

Wellness tourism is a new niche in the global tourism industry that has high opportunities for product development. It is this local wisdom that underlies their daily cultural behavior that has great potential in the development of wellness tourism in Madura, even though it has to deal with the challenge of Madurese stereotypes for outside communities. This background underlies the importance of designing wellness tourism strategies based on local wisdom in Madura. This study used constructivist qualitative research methods. The determination of this strategy is adjusted to the research objectives that will build a model of health tourism development strategy based on local wisdom in Madura. Observations will be made on Madurese people in the Bangkalan and Sampang regions. The location selection was carried out by considering the socio-cultural characteristics of the Madurese people who have great tourism potential. The result of this study is that Madura has various types of tourism. If associated with the concept of wellness tourism, this potential can be explored deeper with the help of the theory of cultural commodification and become a potential new tourism commodity network called "wellness tourism based on local wisdom." Wellness Tourism can be a model of tourism development strategy that can drive the local economy in the Bangkalan Madura region. The potential of the Madurese people in an effort to increase new tourism, especially wellness tourism, requires efforts to diversify products. This is also a cultural commodification in an effort to strengthen Madura's potential as a wellness tourism destination; product diversification of Madura's resource potential; Strengthening Local Wisdom Education through Non-Formal and Formal Education Institutions. And policy collaboration with the Tourism Office, cooperatives, and village governments is needed.

Formation of a marketing strategy for regional tourism development

Currently serving as the backbone of numerous national economies, the tourism industry occupies a substantial economic niche and is a rapidly evolving and promising sector. However, it is not immune to the uncertainties of the economic environment. To address the challenges and foster the industry's growth, it is imperative to employ comprehensive marketing tools and strategies in regional tourism development. The publication's purpose is to research and analyze the theoretical and methodological aspects of forming a marketing strategy for the regional development of tourism. The article examines the peculiarities of forming a marketing strategy for the regional development of tourism. The categorical apparatus "strategy" and "marketing strategy" are defined and researched marketing tools in tourism at the regional level. Grounded marketing concepts: management concept, promotion technology, functional direction. The role of marketing in the tourism industry is indicated, and attention is paid to the fact that the strategic goals of regional management require a marketing approach. The requirements for the marketing strategy are determined, the system of indicators for evaluating the results of the strategy implementation at the regional level, and indicators of the regional effectiveness of marketing activities. Tourism activities are implemented in a competitive market environment where specific economic laws and market relations apply. Numerous external and internal factors currently affect the development of the tourism industry. Marketing tourism policy is aimed at increasing the level of competitiveness. Visual and Verbal Elements on Kerta Gosa Website: A Discourse Analysis Approach

These days, tourism websites play a vital role to support the tourism industry, including in Bali. Tourism websites involve not only textual contents but also visual element—such as images that complement the verbal discourse on the websites. This research aims to discuss the verbal and visual elements on the websites of one of Bali’s tourist attractions, namely Kerta Gosa. Kerta Gosa is a renowned historical tourist attraction which is located in Klungkung Regency, Bali. Furthermore, this research intends to identify how the website engages with its readers and explore how discourse creates a sense of belonging or exclusion within specific communities. This research utilized descriptive qualitative method. Data collection was conducted by gathering sentences and visual elements, which were taken from Kerta Gosa’s online websites Moreover, data were analyzed by using discourse analysis approach, by using Cheongs (2004). In addition to that, this research examines the meanings produced by the verbal and visual elements, as well as the contexts and processes of these meanings, and practices caused by these meanings. The results show that Kerta Gosa’s strategies through the websites includes employing persuasive speech acts, such as emotional appeals and positive language. Additionally, the visual elements such as images on the website support the verbal elements, which can influence readers' perception and encourage them to visit Kerta Gosa in Bali. To sum up, verbal and visual elements on Kerta Gosa’s websites complement one another and have a crucial role in development strategy of tourism in Bali.

International regulation of tourist activities of China as a basis for the application of experience for the domestic economy

Due to its geographical and geopolitical position and natural conditions, China has excellent opportunities to develop various types of tourism. International tourism is a critical mechanism for integrating China's economy into the world economy. Given China's scale of development, which is among the world leaders, domestic tourism plays an increasingly important role in the country's economy. All this makes studying specific features of tourism development in China very relevant. China sets domestic and international standards and regulations to regulate the tourism industry. The legislation includes safety and quality of service rules, visa requirements, and measures to preserve natural and cultural resources. China is a member of international tourism organizations such as the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), a component of sharing experiences and implementing international standards. Participation in such organizations allows China to interact with other countries, share experiences, and participate in defined international standards. China considers international standards and best practices in the field to raise the quality of services and ensure the safety and comfort of tourists. China is actively developing both domestic and international tourism. This gives the company the desire to develop its tourism resources and attract the attention of foreign visitors. China implements measures to control and standardize tourism activities through licensing and other mechanisms. This is aimed at ensuring the quality and safety of tourist services. China's tourism development strategy also promotes the inclusion of cultural exchange through tourism, which promotes mutual understanding and the development of diplomatic relations. Given the importance of environmental sustainability, China considers measures to preserve natural resources and places. China can regulate the visa regime for foreign tourists, changing the requirements and conditions of the visit according to its strategic and security interests. China actively offers its tourist attractions at the international level, helping to attract foreign tourists. In connection with global challenges such as the pandemic, China considers international standards for the safety and health of tourists by implementing appropriate measures and protocols. China can develop and maintain bilateral and multilateral ties with other countries to jointly implement tourism projects and exchange cultural experiences. In general, China's international tourism regulation emphasizes the country's desire to ensure stable, safe, and sustainable tourism development, promoting both domestic and international tourism. Considering these aspects, China is interested in cooperating with the international community and complying with international standards to improve the competitiveness of its tourism sector and ensure the satisfaction and safety of tourists. Community education as a lifelong learning to support sustainable tourism

A community-based tourism (CBT) approach has become an integral part of rural and sustainable tourism development strategies. However, CBT has some constraints on being sustainable due to some internal weaknesses and external concerns, including poor marketing competencies. As a top-down government initiative, Malaysian CBT homestay is blessed with numerous assistance to ensure its survival which in the other hand, creates over-reliance toward other parties. This lack of marketing expertise challenges homestay sustainability. This study examines the importance of community education in marketing activities as a lifelong learning towards sustainable tourism in Malaysia. Qualitative case study is employed to gain an extensive and in-depth explanation on homestay’s marketing implementation and its issues. A semi-structured interview was taken to 9 homestay operators. This study employs a thematic data analysis to investigate the interview results. Research findings show that in majority, the community enjoys the comfort zone provided by government and travel agents, hence encourage the resistance for change. However, a few homestay demonstrates positive respond to involve lifelong learning through community education to support sustainable tourism. More importantly, partnership between various key stakeholders are the utmost important to ensure policy planning and to improve community education quality.

Dampak Ekonomi Keberadaan Sektor Wisata Air Panas Mengeruda Terhadap Perekonomian Masyarakat di Desa Mengeruda Kecamatan So’a Kabupaten Ngada Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur

This research aims to analyze the impact of the existence of the Mengeruda Hot Springs tourism sector on the community's economic income. The tourism sector requires a strategy with a planned tourism development pattern so that its potential can be developed as optimally as possible in advancing the tourism sector both at regional and national levels, namely as a driving force and then giving authority to the Ngada district regional Culture and Tourism Office in determining tourism development strategies. The data obtained came from observations and interviews with informants. The data used comes from qualitative data. Data analysis was carried out using a qualitative descriptive method in the form of a summary of the results of interviews between researchers and informants. Based on the results of research and discussion on the economic impact of the existence of the Mengeruda Hot Spring Tourism Sec-tor on the community's economy, including increased economic activities due to the construc-tion of tourist site facilities and infrastructure, increased agricultural output for hotel and res-taurant needs around tourist sites, increased visitors as tourists, increased community income, job creation for the surrounding community, increased restribution income.

Optimization of Village Tourism Development Strategy in Tulungagung: SWOT Approach

Tulungagung Regency is an area in which each village has tourism potential. Mbalong Kawuk, for example, was created as a tourist attraction and family leisure by Village- Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) Sumbermulyo, in collaboration with the administration of Sumberejo Kulon Village. Due to the high level of competition for tourist attractions and family recreation in Tulungagung, the management and village government must be able to devise strategies and innovations in the development of tourist attractions in order to compete for new market spaces where other attractions do not exist. The purpose of this research is to uncover internal and external elements in Mbalong Kawuk and to build tourist development plans in the face of commercial rivalry. The SWOT data analysis approach was applied in the case study. According to the findings of this study, Mbalong Kawuk is in quadrant I, indicating that the market has both strength and potential.

Research on the Integrated Development of Marine Culture and Tourism Enabling the Common Prosperity of Islands

This paper summarizes the research results of the integrated development path, strategy and case analysis of Marine cultural tourism and island common prosperity, summarizes relevant policy suggestions and practical experience, and provides reference for Marine economic development and island common prosperity.

Pendampingan Strategi Digital Marketing Sebagai Upaya Meningkatkan Daya Tarik Wisata Kampung Gerabah Penanggungan

This research aims to accompany and develop digital marketing strategies as an effort to increase the tourist attraction of Pananggungan Pottery Village in Malang. Research methods include field observations to analyze conditions, potential and challenges in the village, interviews with various parties including local communities, pottery craftsmen, village administrators, tourists and related stakeholders, as well as FGDs to obtain input and suggestions regarding tourism development strategies. These results are the basis for developing development strategy recommendations, which are then complemented by digital marketing training assistance for the community and tourism actors. By implementing a targeted digital marketing strategy, this research seeks to strengthen the existence of Pananggungan Pottery Village as an attractive and sustainable tourist destination. The methods used in this research involve a series of qualitative approaches, including field observations, interviews with key stakeholders, and FGDs. Field observations provide a comprehensive picture of village conditions, while interviews provide an opportunity to hear the voices of various stakeholders. FGDs were held to gather ideas and further input from stakeholders. Recommendations for tourism development strategies are strengthened by accompanying digital marketing training as a concrete step in implementing the proposed solutions.

The Development Strategy Tourism in Mapur Island Marine Conservation Area Bintan Regency

The coastal area of Mapur village is a conservation area that is a tourist attraction because of its uniqueness and natural beauty. This aims to increase people's income, utilize seagrapes without exploiting them, and make tourism while still paying attention to preserving the aquatic environment sustainably. This research was carried out in February 2022 in the Bintan Waters, Mapur Island, Bintan Regency, Kepulauan Riau Province. The method used in this study is mixed, including qualitative and quantitative methods. In this study, researchers explored data and information on topics or issues related to strategies for tourism development by describing qualitative and quantitative data using SWOT analysis. In selecting informants, the researchers used a purposive sampling technique with 30 respondents: a village leader, a PKK leader, the LPM, a youth organization leader, an Ecology Foundation Team, three fishermen, and 22 tourists. Results show that Mapur Village can be categorized as a water conservation area, which has now been designated as TWP (Tourism Water Park) in Bintan Timur. This village has excellent potential and is very promising as a tourism destination based on its natural resources, such as abundant sea grapes with high economic value ecological conditions. Waters and social support, beautiful beaches, and coral reefs in good condition all support the development of tourism on Mapur Island. The best strategy is to implement an aggressive approach by maximizing existing strengths and opportunities, which can be done with 4 SO strategies: cultivating sea grapes with eco-farming techniques, utilizing sea grapes and beautiful beaches to bring in tourists, and opening business opportunities for rural communities. They are building cooperation between village communities and the government, universities, and LPM and expanding promotions.

Homogeneity of European Union and Western Balkan Countries According to Travel and Tourism Sustainability

Managing the future policy and strategy of tourism development is becoming increasingly challenging due to the constantly changing environment. It is crucial to identify key dimensions and implement the concept of sustainable development to ensure tourism development is sustainable. This paper aims to research the dimensions of sustainable tourism development in European Union countries and the Western Balkans. The goal is to analyze the homogeneity of these countries in terms of sustainability of tourism and travel. Additionally, this paper aims to determine the level of deviation of the Western Balkans from the European Union countries in terms of economic, ecological, and social sustainability of tourism development. Identifying critical components of tourism sustainability in these countries is important for creating strategic guidelines to manage tourism and directing supply and demand in the dynamic tourism market.
