Assessing the Opportunities Offered by the Implementation of the Teaching Method Through Thematic Project for Future Teachers in Preschool and Primary Education

The approach to the teaching process is continuously evolving. The main directions of reference are based on the integrated, modern perspective, respectively, of a single discipline, classic. Each of these has distinct benefits. The best framework is probably represented by a fusion of the two. Integrating thematic projects in science teaching at an early stage offers opportunities to develop and capitalize on multiple perspectives from different people’s interpretations and diverse disciplinary approaches to a given problem or situation. An integrated approach to learning enables teachers to implement the school’s core values in a natural and applied way, thereby elevating the learning experience to foster social-emotional strengths and character development. The research focused mainly on establishing the benefits of the future teacher who will be active in young education. Considering this context, research was conducted among second and third-year students from the primary and preschool education pedagogy area. The main findings that must be underlined relate to the future educator’s capacity to implement the new concepts. Even if they were not beneficiaries of the current methods, they can use these successfully and see their benefits.

Analysis of Fine Motor Development of Children Aged 4-5 Years in KB Cendekia Bapangan Through Pottery Formation Play Activities

Pottery is one of the traditional handicrafts made of clay that is shaped in such a way and then heated until it becomes hard. This clay pottery forming game can help children's imagination to make a desired object from clay play. This study aims to determine the fine motor development of children through pottery playing activities. The research method applied in writing this article is qualitative method. The results of this study confirm the importance of paying attention to children's fine motor development, especially by parents and teachers. Fine motor development, which involves coordinating small muscles in movements such as writing and buttoning a shirt, is essential for everyday tasks. One effective method to support fine motor development is through the medium of play, especially the manufacture of pottery from clay. This activity not only improves fine motor skills, but also develops the child's creativity and sensory experience. Clay manipulation requires precise hand movements, which strengthen eye-hand coordination and dexterity. In addition, working with clay encourages children to use their imagination, provides rich sensory stimulation, and allows emotional expression through art. To integrate pottery activities into early childhood education, teachers and parents can introduce structured pottery sessions, provide free playtime, incorporate thematic projects, encourage collaborative projects, and showcase children's work to celebrate their achievements. Thus, the use of clay in early childhood learning becomes a fun and effective way to support fine motor development and other aspects of development.

COMMEMORATING THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BIRTH OF HOWARD GARDNER’S THEORY OF MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCES VIA RESEARCH OF HIS APPROACH ON DIFFERENT LEVELS OF EDUCATION SYSTEMS IN THE CARPATHIAN BASIN

Individual and social well-being is a priority of the OECD 2030 Learning Compass aiming at contributing to generally more livable societies. One of the thought leaders of this international professional innitiative and guidelines is Howard Gardner, the father of the theory of multiple intelligences (MI). This approach implies that human intelligence should be differentiated into modalities, rather than be accepted as a general ability. The present publication aims at commemorating the 40th birth anniversary of MI theory, illustrating different ways of its possible educational implications in the Carpathian Basin, that have been carried out in the past fifteen years by a team of researchers lead by Dezső and attached to the doctoral school in education sciences at the Faculty of Hunmanities and Social Sciences of the University of Pecs, Hungary. The teams’ professional results contain edited compilations of lesson plans, and thematic projects using Gardner’s theory, testbook analysis from adequate aspects, and relevant research on coopretion between pre-service teacher education and schools with socially disadvantaged pupils. One of the most longitudinal researches of the field is Schmidt’s development focusing on pre-scool education. Her work is built on one of the US «Project Zero» Project Spectrum methods, and is called EIDW (Everybody is Intelligent in Different Ways). Schmidt adopted games and activities in different locations in the Carpathian Basin and observed different children’s intelligence profiles as well as those of their educators’. Abraham and Kolip’s researches are in their emerging stage. Whereas Abraham has investigated possible manifestations of inter-, and intrapersonal intelligences in a Vojvodinan kindergarten, as part of MI, aiming at illustrating how socialization in the education system affects these components of children’s personalities, Kolip has focused on even younger children and their educators concerning these areas in a South-Transdanubian village nursery. Although the participants of the research team have issued their findings several times, this is the first publication their work is presented as a common achievement. Main types of podcast advertising: foreign and Ukrainian experience

The article is devoted to considering podcast advertising as a means of monetizing. The podcast advertising types are characterized. An analysis of the domestic experience of using podcasts for advertising purposes was carried out. The purpose of the article is to consider the main types of podcast advertising and analyse their use in the Ukrainian segment of the media market. Podcasts of Radio NV, Suspilny, "The Ukrainians", "Ukrainian Pravda" have been analysed. Content analysis of podcasts was chosen as the main research method to identify the types of advertising used in domestic podcasts. The main characteristics of the classification of podcast advertisements and the types that are distinguished within these characteristics have been established. It was found that Ukrainian podcasts most often use self-promotion, but there are isolated cases of partnership and sponsorship (usually at the end of the podcast) and mentions that can be identified as native advertising. It was concluded that it is too early to talk about the monetization of podcasts thanks to advertising as a mass phenomenon, it is rather an exception to the rule than a regularity. An effective way of interacting with the audience is thematic projects and those ones, which are designed for a specific brand, which is their sponsors.

STEAM интеграция на изкуствата и математиката в детската градина

The article analyzes the essence of the approach to the integration of arts and mathematics and its role in the formation of the universal 4K skills (creativity, communication, cooperation, criticality) in children of preschool age. A comparison of STEM and STEAM is made, describing their methods for forming the four groups of skills of the 4K system. Three types of curricula are distinguished in which art is used as an end or a means of learning. A model of the integration of arts and mathematics to develop creative and active personalities is presented. Ideas and examples of thematic projects for the integration of visual and theatrical activities in the teaching of mathematics in kindergarten are given.

American, German and Turkish Classroom Teachers’ Opinions about Character Education: A Cross-Cultural Study

The purpose of this survey research is to analyze and compare the views of classroom teachers on character education in Turkey, Germany and the U.S. In this study, in which descriptive survey method was used, data were collected from 419 teachers from three countries with questionnaire forms. The data were subjected to descriptive analysis. It was determined that character education is influenced by many factors such as family education level, media, internet, social and physical context, and that teachers in all three countries have similar views, only American teachers think differently that "social and physical context" is more important. Character education is mostly practiced in the USA, and to a lesser extent in Germany and Turkey. Teachers of three countries believe that Life & Social studies are the most important lessons that contribute character education. However, character education should be integrated with other curricula with an interdisciplinary approach preferably. Various resources such as meetings, in-school posters, books and thematic projects are used in character education and American teachers use these resources more than other teachers. According to participants, techniques such as observation, interviews, and questionnaires may be used to determine whether character education goals have been achieved. It is seen that the majority of teachers in all three countries are not sure about the possibility to achieve the goals of character education. It may be stated that teachers do not have a very high level of belief in the level of realization of character education goals. According to German teachers, values are less important, but values are acquired at a similar rate, and for Turkish teachers values are very highly important, but not realized at the expected level. In conclusion, the views of teachers from different countries on character education have similar and different aspects.

Some Aspects of the Formation and Representation Prnciple of Interdisciplinary Collection in the Digital Space of Scientific Knowledge

Interdisciplinary thematic projects implemented by means of the electronic library "Scientific heritage of Russia" allow integrating objects of various nature (printed publications, archival documents, multimedia objects) into a single thematic resource and making it accessible to users. The approaches to the formation of interdisciplinary thematic collections in the digital space of scientific knowledge are investigated. Algorithms for the formation and presentation of a digital interdisciplinary collection are presented. The method of creation and presentation of virtual collections in the information environment of the electronic library "Scientific heritage of Russia". The main types of sections present in most projects are indicated. The main stages of the formation of an interdisciplinary collection in the digital space of knowledge have been formed and described, including the composition of the collection sections, sources for presenting collection materials, dispatching work with sources, the formation of metadata, the main types of sections, etc. An example of the application of the content formation methodology for creating an interdisciplinary collection is given.

Project LABΩ

A new concept of an online research and training platform for the implementation of collaborative thematic projects, particularly in the SHS field, LABΩ enables the rapid launch and successful completion of a research programme virtually mobilising an international, multidisciplinary and multi-level network (from the enlightened amateur to the PR via the doctoral student) without having to seek funding but solely on the basis of the scientific interest of the project. The article was first published in French in the form of an interview with the director of the Gilles Gaston Granger Center P. Taranto (Dématérialiser la recherche pour revenir à l’essentiel: le projet LABΩ // La Lettre de l’InSHS, №66, juillet 2020, pp. 14-17). The article reveals the details of one of the center’s scientific projects on the implementation of scientific research in the field of humanities in the modern digital world. The authors answer the question of how digitalization processes affect the process and methodology of scientific work in the digital world, as well as reveal the essence of the digital tools offered by the platform LABΩ for this. The article is published as part of the implementation of a joint EuropeanKazakhstan project “Digital humanities in the Republic of Kazakhstan: local solutions for global problems” co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. The project includes lectures, the creation of MOOC courses, and a number of scientific publications. The authors of the article invite Kazakhstani researchers to discuss and share experiences on the topic of digital humanitarian research in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Practicing Fair and Sustainable Local Food Systems: Elements of Food Citizenship in the Simeto River Valley

This paper examines a community-based food system which emerged recently around the Simeto River Valley Agreement (SRA) in Sicily (Italy) through the lens of food citizenship. The concept of food citizenship develops an understanding of how food systems function to ensure that individuals and communities have agency, access, and engagement with their food. It allows for comparative analysis between global/industrial and community/alternative systems. This paper follows a methodological integration between action research and a case study approach. The action research process produced a networked governance structure derived from multiple initiatives which are currently initiating many thematic projects—amongst them, a local food system. Results indicate that formalizing governance structures derived from self-organizing behavior have led to an inclusive platform with a shared vision and goals. The governing structures, however, require continued efforts and capacity to engage collaboratively in implementing their strategic plans. Findings suggest that actors developing a food citizenship-focused system should (1) consider how the governance organizational structure enables fluid communication among members and leads to building trust, (2) seek alternatives to engage youth (especially in rural areas) and promote citizen engagement, and (3) develop strategies to seek technical and programmatic support for initiatives. These three aspects are key features which may be adapted to other such efforts in sustainable and local food systems. The complex networked approach to governance presented here and the shared vision for sustainability are considered key elements in fostering a successful alternative food system with the fundamentals of food citizenship at its core.

Neutron star cooling and GW170817 constraint within quark-meson coupling models * *This work is a part of the project INCT-FNA Proc. In the present work, we used five different versions of the quark-meson coupling (QMC) model to compute astrophysical quantities related to the GW170817 event and the neutron star cooling process. Two of the models are based on the original bag potential structure and three versions consider a harmonic oscillator potential to confine quarks. The bag-like models also incorporate the pasta phase used to describe the inner crust of neutron stars. With a simple method studied in the present work, we show that the pasta phase does not play a significant role. Moreover, the QMC model that satisfies the GW170817 constraints with the lowest slope of the symmetry energy exhibits a cooling profile compatible with observational data.

Open access repositories: Functions and trends

Open access repositories are an integral part of open science infrastructure that ensures the accessibility and findability of research results. This article is based on the analysis of the various types of repositories. The authors attempted to identify main functions of these platforms, their features and development trends. The sample includes 11 repositories, both institutional and thematic projects, and also general-purpose platforms. The main function of repositories is the storage of publications, although over time the role of these services as the publication priority registrators is increasing. Projects typically feature pre-moderation procedures, as well as a rather careful attitude to the metadata and its accuracy. Only one repository charges publication fee, their revenue come from sponsorship funds, donations, advertising, additional paid services (in various combinations). The possibilities of social interaction as a rule are quite limited: neither reviewing, nor even commenting are built-in functions of the reviewed projects. Collective work on the manuscript is also impossible. The trends of repositories future development are the diversification of formats and types of works exchanged by scientists, as well as the increasing of the importance of non-profit projects for the scientific communication infrastructure.

Promocja czytelnictwa dzieci i młodzieży przez Wojewódzką Bibliotekę Publiczną – Książnicę Kopernikańską w Toruniu w latach 80. XX wieku

The article presents activities undertaken by a Public Provincial Library – the Copernicus Library in Toruń in the field of promoting readership among children and adolescents in the 1980s. The author describes the situation of libraries after WWII and the role of librarians, emphasizing the educational aspect of their work. In addition, she recreates the course of seminars organised for librarians from children’s libraries, the curiculum of which included academic lectures including lectures on authors of books for children, an analysis of the status of readership and libraries and a discussion of the latest developments. The text includes a description of popularizing activities and initiatives. Cyclical library lessons and thematic projects like holiday and summer campaigns, are also described. The article is based mainly on historical source materials stored in the Archives of the Public Library and the State Archives in Toruń. They include documents relating to the institution, i.e. reports, characteristics of the directions of library development for selected years, as well as materials documenting library events and happenings.

Monitoring of Waste Management in the Central Ecological Zone of the Baikal Natural Territory

Quantitative assessments are made of the formation of municipal solid waste, ash and slag from heat power plants (boilers), and logging and timber processing activities in the central ecological zone of the Baikal natural territory. The material and raw material balance method and the normative method were used as the basis, and calculations used potential volumes of waste produced (thematic industrial reference books) and specific indicators adopted for particular federal subjects of Russia. These authors are executors of several thematic research projects of federal and regional status, aimed at the environmental and socioeconomic development of the central ecological zone of the Baikal natural territory (seven administrative districts and one urban district of Irkutsk oblast and of the Republic of Buryatia), which has allowed us, over the last two decades, to characterize, evaluate and predict the development of various economic processes in the environment and society of this territory, including issues related to production and consumption waste management. Variants of a comprehensive solution to the problems of waste management are proposed: alternative sources of energy and heat supply in the central ecological zone (logging and timber processing waste and consumer waste) as well as applications in the construction sector and, in particular, in road construction (ash and slag). The findings of this research can serve as the substantiation of particular managerial decisions on the promotion of the ideology of the green economy by developing further the aforementioned individual types of reuse of waste produced in order to safeguard the World Heritage site, Lake Baikal, and sustainable development of society on its shores.

Projetos Temáticos e Modelagem Matemática na Extensão Universitária

A extensão se constitui como uma prática acadêmica essencial nas universidades, associada ao ensino e à pesquisa. Em cursos de formação inicial ou continuada de professores as ações de extensão podem promover a integração entre teoria e prática, aproximando a Universidade da Educação Básica. Neste artigo apresentamos e discutimos a dinâmica do desenvolvimento de um curso de extensão, voltado para formação de professores de Matemática, realizado na Universidade Federal do ABC (UFABC) na cidade de Santo André, SP. O curso visou propiciar aos participantes o envolvimento com temáticas interdisciplinares, por meio da integração entre Projetos de Trabalho e Modelagem Matemática. Nosso objetivo neste artigo é analisar as contribuições do curso para a formação e para a prática docente. Como dados utilizamos registros e produções dos participantes, incluindo seus depoimentos. Por meio da metodologia qualitativa, analisamos os dados buscando identificar, nas manifestações dos participantes, indícios de possíveis contribuições das atividades desenvolvidas para a formação inicial, continuada e para a prática docente. Identificamos que o curso propiciou, aos professores em formação, um novo olhar para a Matemática e para a Educação, estimulando práticas alternativas às chamadas aulas tradicionais, como os Projetos Temáticos e a Modelagem Matemática, que se mostraram viáveis para a escola em diferentes níveis, a partir da vivência desse tipo de prática no curso.

ФОРМУВАННЯ ГОТОВНОСТІ МАЙБУТНІХ ПЕДАГОГІВ ДО ОРГАНІЗАЦІЇ ПАРТНЕРСЬКОЇ ВЗАЄМОДІЇ МІЖ УЧАСНИКАМИ ОСВІТНЬОГО ПРОЦЕСУ

In the article the peculiarities of forming of future teachers’ readiness for the organization of pedagogical partnership in pre-school educational establishments and elementary schools are revealed. Psychological and pedagogical researches concerning scientific interpretations of the concept of readiness in future teachers for professional activity are analyzed. The basic technologies and methods, which are used to form readiness of future teachers to organize pedagogical partnership in the teaching of pedagogical disciplines, are explained. The features of application of different technologies (situational modeling, dialog, personal oriented, communicative) and methods (research tasks, thematic projects aimed at solving educational problems on different sociocultural topics (problems), which have shown their effectiveness in forming readiness to form readiness, are characterized to a pedagogical partnership. In the course of studying the content module «Pedagogical Partnership» of the integrated course «Pedagogy» for students of 1–2 year of specialty «Preschool education» and discipline «Didactics of elementary school» for students of 1–3 course of specialty «Elementary education», that the pedagogical partnership not only contributes to the creation of an effective educational space for preschool education and general secondary education, while ensuring unity in the education and training of preschool and primary school children, but also psychologists but comfortable conditions for each participant of the educational process is an important mechanism for quality assurance. Based on the results of the study, the essence of the concept of «future teachers’ readiness for the organization of pedagogical partnership in educational institutions» is defined as an integral formation, which includes the ability to communicate with the participants of the educational process, willingness to interact, design a model of optimal behavior in different situations and situations as subjects of educational activity, and various social institutions for the sake of full, comfortable stay of the child in educational essays.

New Approaches to Thematic Projects in the Design of Urban Spaces: Eskisehir Example

Kentsel mekânlarda uygulama alanı bulan tema; kentte yaşayanlar ve kentin ziyaretçileri ile kent arasında ilişkiler kuran, kent imajını belirleyen, ulusal ve uluslararası platformlarda kentin tanınırlığını artıran bir kavramdır. Bu nedenle kentsel mekânın şekillenmesinde katkıya sahip yönetici, tasarımcı, sanatçı ve kent sakinlerinin mevcut ve yeni yapılacak mekânsal düzenlemelerde temanın önemini, işlevini ve etkilerini göz önünde bulundurmaları gerekmektedir. Kamusal alanlar olan ve herkesin kullandığı bu mekân düzenlemelerinde temanın bulunduğu yerin doğal ve yapay coğrafyası, kültürel coğrafyası ve tarihi coğrafyası ile ilişkilendirilmiş olması; hem imaj ve tanınırlık açısından güçlü ve köklü bir söylem geliştirmesi hem de kentte yaşayanların olduğu kadar yaşamayanların da aidiyetini arttırması açısından önemlidir. Eskişehir tematik projeler açısından Türkiye’de öncü kentlerdendir. Kentin sahip oldukları arasında; güçlü bir coğrafi referansa sahip olan Porsuk Çayı, tarihi açıdan önem taşıyan Odunpazarı Evleri ve özellikle öğrenci kenti imajıyla genç ve dinamik kültürel özellikler sayılabilir. Bu gibi özelliklerin kentte kamusal alan tasarımlarında doğru ve dikkatli bir şekilde kullanılması önem taşımaktadır.

Promoting integrative teaching through interdisciplinary arts and crafts collaboration between after-school clubs

This article presents an art-teacher-researcher’s perspective on issues related to project-based integrative visual arts teaching to primary school students attending after-school activities. Based on the theoretical assumption that contemporary art forms are a suitable pedagogical solution for integrative visual arts teaching, the study explores the transformation and materialisation of a conceptual contemporary art installation into a performance. The described processes reveal the potential of contemporary art forms for encouraging integrative teaching through multiprofessional collaboration, which enhances the simultaneous application of the four integrative teaching styles as defined by Bresler (1995): subservient, co-equal, affective and social. The study demonstrates how artistic multiprofessional collaboration, triggered by the contemporary art expression can, in practice, extend the integrative learning opportunities by putting the students into authentic creative processes.
 The results of this action research confirm that after-school activities provide a favourable environment for quality integrative teaching as they give the freedom to plan educational thematic projects that allow active co-equal collaborations. Such projects unfold the possibilities for learning in collaboration through artistic expression and multidisciplinary discovery, which in turn fosters knowledge and skill transferability that go beyond the discipline-based school curriculum.
