Management of innovation potential of telecommunication enterprises in conditions of economic instability

Within the framework of this article, an analysis of economic entities of different sizes on the Ukrainian market in conditions of economic instability was carried out, taking into account their innovative activity. The peculiarities of the functioning of enterprises in the field of telecommunications in conditions of economic instability have been determined, and the conceptual bases of their management within the framework of the components of the management system by levels and the support system have been substantiated. On this basis, a mechanism for managing the innovative potential of telecommunications enterprises was developed and its components were described. It is proven that the formation and implementation of the mechanism for managing the innovative potential of communication enterprises within the framework of the proposed management system will affect their activities in accordance with the development goals and the chosen strategy. This will allow the management of telecommunications enterprises to ensure the effectiveness of management decisions, to increase competitive advantages based on innovation and increase their competitive position in conditions of economic instability.

Assessing the Effects of Consumer Sales Promotion and Consumer Buying Behaviour in the Telecommunication Industry of Nigeria

The study aims to investigate the effects of consumer sales promotion on consumer buying behaviour in the Nigerian telecommunication industry. 280 customers of the major telecommunication firms in Lagos were conveniently selected to administer questionnaire on. The SPSS version 23 was employed for data analysis. The study’s findings revealed among other things that management commitment, heightened competition, rising advertising cost and the desire to increase sales volumes were the reason why telecommunications firms in Nigeria adopt consumer sales promotion. Additionally, it was also revealed that pilfering of premiums, difficulty in raising the prices of product/service once they were discounted, a great deal of experience is required to execute consumer sales promotion are the challenges found to be associated with the use of consumer sales promotion in the telecommunication industry in Nigeria. Notwithstanding these challenges, majority of these methods were found to impact consumer buying behaviour significantly. On the basis of the findings, the study, recommends that telecommunication firms should focus on using the consumer sales promotion methods such as buy-one-get-one-free and price discount as an effective marketing strategy to topple the competition and to increase sales. However, since management’s commitment is vital in making the consumer sales promotion successful, the firms should get management committed to the marketing strategy. Given that the cost of advertising is on the rise, the strategy can save the firms some money. Also, since the use of consumer sales promotion is associated with some intricate challenges, the telecommunication managers should tread cautiously when considering the strategy. Management should consider people with expertise or well-vexed individuals to execute this strategy to reduce pilfering of premiums, mal-redemption and to be able to adjust price once the promotion is over

Entrepreneurial Orientation and Market Responsiveness in the Nigerian Telecommunications Industry

The study emphasis on the empirical relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and market responsiveness in the Nigerian telecommunications industry. The study is quantitative in nature with a cross-sectional research design. Twenty-eight (28) management level employees were inclusive to form the study participants from different downstream telecom firms in Bayelsa state. Structured questionnaire was established as the primary instrument for data collection, and the collected data was analysed inferentially using spearman rank correlational coefficient with the aid of SPSS software. From the analytical perspective, the result shows that there is a significant relationship between entrepreneurship orientation as a practice and market responsiveness. It was also revealed that all dimensions of the independent variable as a significant correlation with market responsiveness in the telecom firms. It was recommended that the studied firms need to find new market possibilities and gain domination, management of telecommunications companies must encourage innovation.

STRATEGIC CRITERIA FOR ASSESSING THE MANAGEMENT OF TELECOMMUNICATIONS ENTERPRISES IN THE DIGITAL ECONOMY

The relevance of the chosen research topic is due to the insufficient conceptual development of the paradigm of strategic management of telecommunications enterprises in the digital economy. The article reveals the essence of defining and applying strategic criteria for assessing the management of telecommunications enterprises. It is determined that the essence lies in the ability to predict the business situation, prevent the negative impact of internal and external factors, introduce measures to minimize costs, ensure the achievement of the set goals and, above all, obtain a positive financial result of the enterprise's activity - the desired profit. The article argues that the digital economy, which is spreading through active digitalization and is based on the activities of telecommunications enterprises, gives rise to a new type of strategic management and leads to profound changes in how telecommunications enterprises should be organized today and managed in the future. The article describes the current trends that already have a major impact on the organization of telecommunications enterprises and will shape changes in the strategic management of telecommunications enterprises in the near future. These circumstances require further scientific developments on the formation of new approaches to the strategic management of telecommunications enterprises and tools for their implementation based on strategic criteria for assessing the management of telecommunications enterprises in the context of the development of the digital economy. The author's approach to determining the directions of digitalization's impact on the activities of telecommunications enterprises is proposed, which allows to outline the strategic criteria for assessing the management of telecommunications enterprises in the long term. The study allows us to conclude that the strategic management of telecommunication enterprises in the digital economy requires expanded monitoring and analysis of the external environment; enhancing the safety, protection and empowerment of citizens, ensuring freedom of choice on the Internet, continuous improvement and development of telecommunication devices and channels and integration of innovations; supporting participation in the digital public space by creating a digital environment in which interaction between participants takes place through digital services.

Package for data management of a telecommunication device in a monitoring system

In order to identify the role of data storage in the monitoring system of a telecommunications device, a conceptual design method was used, which was based on the basic principles of the Telecommunication Management Network concept, which is a network management system for telecommunication operators. Based on this concept, it was possible to design a data storage model in the monitoring system of a telecommunications device, which clearly reflects the separation of databases involved in the telecommunications network at different levels of the concept. A description of the differences between the databases assigned to each specific level from each other and an explanation of the functional features of each of the databases under consideration, as well as a description of the data circulation process over the network, is presented. The work focuses on describing the contents of the database of a specific telecommunications device, which is the object of control in the communication network, with the possibility of developing an interface to this database, which makes it convenient to search, view and modify stored data. To designate the information stored in the database of a telecommunications device, a fragment of the database was developed containing a set of attributes characterizing the device, their values and parameters of attribute values. The role of the database interface is to enable the user to quickly and easily access the information contained in the database.

Customer churn prediction in telecom sector using machine learning techniques

In the telecom industry, large-scale of data is generated on daily basis by an enormous amount of customer base. Here, getting a new customer base is costlier than holding the current customers where churn is the process of customers switching from one firm to another in a given stipulated time. Telecom management and analysts are finding the explanations behind customers leaving subscriptions and behavior activities of the holding churn customers’ data. This system uses classification techniques to find out the leave subscriptions and collects the reasons behind the leave subscription of customers in the telecom industry. The major goal of this system is to analyze the diversified machine learning algorithms which are required to develop customer churn prediction models and identify churn reasons in order to give them with retention strategies and plans. In this system, leave subscriptions collects customers' data by applying classification algorithms such as Random Forest (RF), machine learning techniques such as KNN and decision tree Classifier. It offers an efficient business model that analyzes customer churn data and gives accurate predictions of churn customers so that business management may take action within the churn period to stop churn as well as loss in profit. System achieves an accuracy of 99 % using the random forest classifier for churn predicts, the classifier matrix has achieved a precision of 99 % with a recall factor of 99 % alongwith received overall accuracy of 99.09 %. Likewise, our research work improves churn prediction, scope other business fields, and provide prediction models to hold their existing customers customer service, and avoid churn effectively.

Relationship between Customer Satisfaction and Brand Loyalty

Globally, customer satisfaction remains a major predictor of brand loyalty and customer satisfaction in the telecommunication industry. Regardless of this, mobile telecommunication firms in Kenya are yet to achieve the required brand loyalty levels. This is evident given the high levels of switching freedom and churn rate levels, which rose from 21.20% to 31.45% in Safaricom, while in Airtel, this rose from 4.9% to 6.0% in 2021. Studies on the relationship between customer satisfaction and brand loyalty revealed both positive and negative results. The main purpose of this study was to assess the relationship between customer satisfaction and brand loyalty. The study hinged on the theory of planned behaviour. The research used descriptive research design. The target population was 124,849 subscribers drawn from four telecoms: Safaricom, Airtel, Telecom and Equitel. The stratified sampling technique was used to select a representative sample of 443 respondents. The primary data for the study was collected using a closed-ended survey instrument. Quantitative data was analyzed using both descriptive statistics (frequencies, percentages, means, standard deviation) and inferential statistics (Correlation and Regression). The findings indicated that there is a positive and significant relationship between customer satisfaction and brand loyalty, where customer satisfaction explained 50.9% of the variance in mobile telecommunication service providers' brand loyalty. The study concludes that customer satisfaction has a significant effect on brand loyalty. The study recommended that the telecom management should put more effort into service promptness, responsiveness, staff courtesy and customer understanding to enhance brand loyalty in their companies.

360° View on Zero-Touch (Zero-Touch) Networks

In modern telecommunication sectors, zero touch (Zero-Touch) networks are a novel idea. A combination of quick, context-aware network and service configuration, adaptable new service development, and dynamic, effective resource allocation are required for everyone. An innovative telecommunication management software, Zero-Touch Networks (ZTNs), were released to address these complicated conditions. The primary objective of the zero-touch network is autonomous operation, which is governed by higher layers of policies and regulations and allows for self-configuration, self-monitoring, self-healing and self-optimization without the need for human interaction. This conceptual study document is based on white and grey literature in the Google and Web of Science databases. Text, image, audio and video formats all existed for the data. The manuscripts examined the theories, enabling technologies, problems and difficulties associated with zero touch networks. The primary goal of this manuscript is to provide an overview of ZTN so that aspiring academics, researchers, students and businesspeople can profit from it.

IMPROVEMENT OF THE METHODOLOGY FOR EVALUATING THE CARRIER FREQUENCY OF THE SIGNAL DURING DATA TRANSMISSION IN TELECOMMUNICATION CONTROL AND DISTANCE LEARNING SYSTEMS

Effectiveness of the application of telecommunications systems is directly influenced by the effectiveness of the functioning of each component and device of its design. The article directly examines the issue of improving the carrier frequency estimation methodology for data transmission in telecommunication management and distance learning systems. The essence of the solution lies in proposals for improving the efficiency of frequency estimation at the input signal synchronization stage, which is presented on the example of a satellite telecommunication control system and distance learning. Namely, the analysis of modern satellite telecommunications systems was carried out and the features that affect the effectiveness of carrier frequency estimation and input signal synchronization were determined. The main inconsistencies are the low energy of the input signal receiving channel, significant signal frequency uncertainty, and the presence of "neighboring channels" receiving the input signal. It was determined that satellite communication systems during data transmission work in the mode with multi-station access in the variant of operation with frequency division of channels, which can receive data packets in the mode of multiple access or when providing a data reception channel on demand. At the same time, the operation of telecommunications systems can proceed both in continuous and in batch modes of receiving the input signal. It is considered that coherent processing of the input signal is carried out in demodulators of satellite telecommunications and interference-resistant coding is used. To solve the task of estimating the carrier frequency of the input signal in coherent demodulators of modern satellite telecommunications, considering the above-defined inconsistencies and features, the article proposes a methodical approach. The essence of this approach is to determine the potential boundary of variances of the obtained estimates of the carrier frequency and to develop algorithms for estimating the carrier frequency of the input signal separately for continuous and batch modes of input data transmission based on the fast Fourier transform. THE IMPACT OF THE DIGITAL ECONOMY ON MANAGEMENT PROCESSES

Purpose of the research is to study changes in management processes under the influence of the digital economy in order to effectively carry out the digital transformation of a company and adapt management to new conditions.Methodology. The methodology and research methodology is based on the use of a monographic method of studying literature and sources, systemic and comparative analysis using observations and analysis of statistical materials.The theory was developed and validated using scientific evidence derived from the data following a literature analysis.Originality / value of the research.The article analyzes the literature on this topic, which showed that the problem is poorly researched. A diagram of the interaction of the digital economy and management processes was built, which made it possible to identify the composition of changes in the management of the company. The content of the transforming impact of the digital economy on the enterprise is highlighted, for which a scheme of the impact of the digital economy on the management of the company is proposed. Analysis of the digital transformation of business in the largest Kazakhstani telecommunications company Kazakhtelecom revealed changes that should be made in the field of personnel management, the formation of corporate culture, the system of working with clients and the organizational structure of management. Particular attention is paid to the digitalization of the company's business processes, on which the digital model of the company depends, which determines the design of the entire company management system.Findings. The results obtained: some provisions on the methodology of the influence of the digital economy on management processes were systematized and developed, an analysis of the digital transformation of business and management of the Kazakhtelecom telecommunications company was carried out, from which recommendations for adapting management processes to digital changes follow.

Applications of Knowledge Graphs in Telecommunication Systems Management

Telecommunications systems management represents a technical challenge with profound economic implications. Many different sources of information must be integrated, and complex decisions must be automatically taken and executed. In this article, we review the usage of Knowledge Graphs in this domain since they are a powerful tool for dealing with data integration and complex knowledge representation. The main insights are that they have been applied in several areas of Telecommunications Management, such as resource/service discovery and monitoring, with a particular focus on Software-Defined Networks. Their main advantages are their extensibility and interoperability. However, data quality and graph performance are still challenges, and work is yet to be done for its application to the rest of the telecommunication management areas.

DIRECTIONS OF ACTIVATION OF RISK MANAGEMENT OF TELECOMMUNICATIONS ENTERPRISES IN UKRAINE IN MARTIAL LAW AND POST-WAR CONDITIONS

Aim: The aim of the research was to determine the risks of telecommunications enterprises in Ukraine in martial law and post-war conditions. Methods: During the writing of the article, scientific research methods were used – namely: dialectical, analysis and synthesis, generalization and specification, monographic; forecasting and abstraction; systematic; factorial, statistical analysis; the abstract method, methods of system analysis, and a systems approach. Results: The authors analyzed the changes and systematized the specific risks of telecommunications enterprises in the conditions of the Russian-Ukrainian war. The author’s definition of the concept of the “activation of risk management of telecommunications enterprises” was proposed, taking into account the specifics of risks in the field of telecommunications. Conclusions: The article builds a triangle of directions of activation of risk management of telecommunications enterprises, which are interconnected and cover the stages of the risk management process that relate to management functions. Based on the obtained results, recommendations were presented for the risk management mechanism of the telecommunications enterprise.

THEORETICAL BASIS FOR STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT OF TELECOMMUNICATIONS ENTERPRISES IN THE DIGITAL ECONOMY

The digital economy is based on the activities of telecommunication enterprises, which leads to profound changes in the construction of strategic management of enterprises today so that they can be managed in the future. Telecommunication enterprises need a new theoretical basis for building a modern model of strategic management, which will ensure: formation of a knowledge base, definition of a set of interrelated rules of digitalisation, use of innovative technologies, development of an expert system, implementation of a digital management system to achieve strategic goals in the long term. The article proves that in the context of the development of the digital economy, one of the effects of the strategic management system at an enterprise should be an increase in the level of formalisation of its processes. In turn, this will also ensure the process of digitalisation and the creation of procedures that will allow a telecommunications enterprise to achieve its goals in the best possible way. It is noted that the system of strategic management of telecommunications enterprises in the digital economy allows to form a model of strategic management based on the paradigm of digital strategy, and also includes the values and goals of the enterprise and social responsibility of business. The model of strategic management proposed in the article will help to stabilise the work of telecommunications enterprises in difficult times, introduce digital methods of strategic management, and use artificial intelligence to make and implement strategic management decisions. The theoretical basis of the digital strategy allows for a decomposition of the goals and functions of management subsystems. The decomposition itself is carried out on the principles of transparency and sufficiency, i.e. rational division of management types with their subsequent integration into a single system (composition) of strategic management at all levels of a telecommunications enterprise.

СТРАТЕГІЧНІ ОРІЄНТИРИ УПРАВЛІННЯ ТЕЛЕКОМУНІКАЦІЙНИМИ ПІДПРИЄМСТВАМИ В УМОВАХ ЦИФРОВОЇ ЕКОНОМІКИ

In this article, we argue that the digital economy, which is spreading through active digitalisation and is based on the activities of telecommunications enterprises, is giving rise to a new type of strategic management and leading to profound changes in how telecommunications enterprises should be organised today to manage in the future. It is noted that the authors are developing a conceptual framework to prepare a methodological approach to the strategic management of telecommunications enterprises based on the application of digital innovations; use of information systems and information and telecommunications technologies; development and implementation of a digital strategy; improvement of management of corporate infrastructure of telecommunications enterprises in a strategic perspective. The author describes the current trends that already have a great impact on the organisation of telecommunications enterprises and will shape changes in the strategic management of telecommunications enterprises in the near future. he author’s own approach to determining the directions of influence of digitalisation on the activities of telecommunications enterprises is proposed. This allows defining strategic guidelines and their impact on strategic management. The study leads to the conclusion that the strategic management of telecommunications enterprises in the digital economy requires expanded monitoring and analysis of the external environment; enhancing the security, protection and empowerment of citizens, ensuring freedom of choice online, continuous improvement and development of telecommunication devices and channels and integration of innovations; support for participation in the digital public space by creating a digital environment in which interaction between participants takes place through digital services; increasing the transparency of customer-oriented processes, and the formation of E2E business. The article emphasises that all of the above should be implemented by telecommunications companies only on the basis of the key strategic guideline for the development of the digital economy, which is to define human rights as an essential element of digital transformation.

THE PARADIGM OF STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT OF TELECOMMUNICATIONS ENTERPRISES IN THE DIGITAL ECONOMY

The article is concerned with defining the concept of the paradigm of strategic management of telecommunications enterprises and its adaptation in the digital economy to form a mechanism for the strategic development of enterprise and its efficient functioning. The article emphasises that the modern paradigm of strategic management of telecommunications enterprises is based on a humancentred approach, which is based on the potential of management personnel in accordance with the strategic directions of enterprise development. For telecommunications enterprises that ensure the development and functioning of the digital economy, the management objectives should be: global digitalisation of business and society; adaptation of the enterprise's operation to the consequences of digital transformation; development of corporate digital culture; introduction of modern management methods corresponding to the digitalisation and digitalisation of the social, financial and economic spectrum of society development. The analytical review made it possible to compare the advantages and disadvantages of strategic, situational and process management, which became the basis for the formation of a paradigmatic digital strategy for managing telecommunications enterprises, which involves determining the overall strategy, strategic directions of activity, scenarios for their implementation in accordance with management situations, taking into account management signals from the external and internal environments.The study of modern concepts of strategic management of enterprises has made it possible to determine that most of the paradigmatic directions of strategic management are based on the known approaches to the formation of a synergistic system of strategic, situational, operational and process management to achieve the goals of enterprise development. Focusing on the strategic management of telecommunications enterprises has made it possible to outline the basic paradigms that are practical for determining effective procedures for making strategic management decisions and implementing the strategic management process; allows telecommunications enterprises to form a form of effective management with due regard for digital transformations.

OPTIMIZATION OF INFORMATION COMMUNICATION NETWORK MANAGEMENT PROCESS PARAMETERS

The classical theory of control systems focused mainly on control objects, which are characterized by a certain determinism, stationarity, relative simplicity, fixity of coordinates, sufficiently studied characteristics, and the possibility of building regular mathematical models. These characteristics were fully met by telecommunication networks with channel switching, including mathematical network models for calculating resources by means of mass service theory. Over time, new problems arise that require new solutions and, accordingly, new approaches to managing information communications, which is considered in this study. The research analyzed trends in the construction of fifth generation 5G networks. The relevance of the study of new approaches to the management of information communications is shown. The main stages of the evolution of telecommunications as an object of management are indicated. Problems corresponding to this evolution and approaches to their solution are outlined. Forecasts of the development and complications of telecommunications in the 2020s and 2030s are offered. Self-organization and multi-agent systems are considered within the framework of the analysis of telecommunications management as a scientific discipline. The concept of the correctness of the management strategy at certain moments of time and always, that is, at all moments of time of the considered period, is formalized. A new probabilistic-parametric concept of three-level management of 5G information and communication networks is substantiated. Approaches to mathematical modeling of telecommunications management within the framework of this concept are proposed. The relevance of the development of new methods for calculating probabilistic-temporal characteristics of management of fifth generation communication networks in real time has been proven. Ways to develop research on software-configured networks and virtualization of the functionality of post-NGN networks are proposed.

Predicting base station return on investment in the telecommunications industry: Machine‐learning approaches

Investment in the right location ensures sustainable competition. In the telecommunication sector, the number of base stations (BSs) is one of the most significant investment parameters. When a potential BS is subject to be selected, practitioners will first consider investing in a BS where the return on investment (ROI) is highest. Therefore, the quantifiable objectives are distinctly defined, as it makes sense to choose maximizing features that raise per unit investment. This study provides a solution to evaluate the best BS installation alternative with machine-learning approaches as well as to estimate ROI value by changing the properties that affect the ROI value. For this purpose, the estimation performance of logistic regression, random forest, and XGBoost methods are compared and further strengthened by random forest hyperparameter optimization to provide the best performance. The model, with a success rate of 98.7% according to the F $$ F $$ -score, showed that it was a robust algorithm. The three most essential features for the ROI value are determined to be voice traffic, data traffic, and frequency cost. These parameters enable a review of the prediction results of telecommunications managers and planning specialists responsible for BS investment.

Economics of Nepalese Telecom Industry

This paper aims to investigate the economics of Nepalese telecom industry with special reference to Nepal Telecom. The study is undertaken with the objectives to analyze Nepal Telecom as the market leader, drive an aggressive pricing model and to explore reliable telecommunication service in Nepal and become the lowest cost provider. Telecommunication at present, is the transmission of information, voice or data per time and space through electronic device. Efficiency gains and cheaper phone calls are possible from telecommunications aggressive pricing and effective customer care. The telecommunications revolution has arrived to 21st century wireless communication with fiber to the home (FTTH), 4G and 5G. The overall telecommunication market is huge. Majority of market share is needed to become a market leader. Telecom management need to formulate effective plan to achieve the target within the period of five years. Fiber to the home (FTTH) service, which includes three in one as voice, internet and IPTV has been expanded within 62 districts. Nepal Telecom has been able to expand 4G network in all 77 districts of the country with the wide coverage of 654 local bodies and 85% of the total population. FTTH is an important project as it supports the fifth-generation mobile internet (5G) which is coming to Nepal in the near future.

User-Generated Content and Firm Generated Content: A Comparative Empirical Study of the Consumer Buying Process

This research determines the impact of content marketing (user-generated content (UGC) and firm-generated content (FGC)) on the consumer buying process for telecommunication products and services in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI). The study attempts to compare the impact of UGC and FGC on the consumer buying process. To achieve this aim, the study utilized a descriptive quantitative methodology. The population of interest for this research is all consumers of telecommunication products in the KRI. Primary data was collected from 402 online questionnaires from a convenience, snowball, sample from the main provinces of Kurdistan. The results indicate that all FGC marketing dimensions have a statistically significant positive direct effect on the consumer buying process, while only content valence and information richness of UGC dimensions have a statistically significant positive direct effect. FGC valence has the greatest impact on the consumer buying process, closely followed by FGC trustworthiness, and then FGC information richness. Between the two examined types of content, FGC has a greater impact than UGC on the consumer buying process for telecommunication products and services. Telecommunications marketers and management should thus prioritize the identified FGC dimensions in their marketing strategies for optimum resource allocation efficiency. Further discussion is provided.

Entrepreneurial Orientation and Competitiveness of Telecommunication Firms in Rivers State, Nigeria

This research investigated the connection between the entrepreneurial mindset of telecommunications companies in Rivers State, Nigeria, and their level of market competitiveness. In the state of Rivers, there were a total of 139 managers working for four different telecommunications companies: MTN, 9Mobile, Airtel, and Globacom. The researchers used a straightforward random selection method to choose 103 participants for their investigation. The delivery of a structured questionnaire was used to obtain the primary data for this study. Using Spearman's Rank Order Correlation Coefficient and the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 22.0, we examined whether or not the provided hypotheses were supported by the data. According to the findings of the research, the two aspects of entrepreneurial orientation that were chosen (innovativeness and proactiveness) have a substantial connection to an organization's level of competitiveness (quality and market share). According to the findings of the study, the management of telecommunications companies should have an innovative plan to fund innovative ideas, experimentation, and creative processes; they should also introduce new products and services; and they should invest significantly in research and development. Additionally, the management of companies that deal in telecommunications have to take the initiative in the launch of new goods and services whenever possible. When it comes to the current state of the telecommunications industry, they should be recognized as a reputable brand. They should also react more quickly than their rivals do to educational and research opportunities.
