Connecting the Dots: Bridging Innovation Management and Technology Transfer Through ISO 56002

This paper highlights the significance of centralising innovation within organisations to gain a competitive edge in a rapidly changing world. It emphasises the pivotal role of ISO 56002, a standardised innovation management system, in fostering innovation capacity through diffusion, certification and development. By establishing innovation standards, organisations can consistently generate successful innovations, leveraging their resources and knowledge capital. However, technology transfer faces trust and inter-organisational cooperation barriers. ISO 56002 provides comprehensive guidelines to overcome these challenges and bridge standardisation and innovation perspectives. The proposed framework integrates technology transfer with the ISO 56002 system, consisting of five phases: engagement in innovation processes, certification of technology transferors, overcoming barriers, technology transfer agreements and analysing effectiveness. ISO 56002 facilitates collaboration, resource allocation, strategic planning and adopts a customer-centric approach. This framework fills a literature gap, offering organisations a competitive advantage in technology transfer. The study explores the relationship between ISO 56002 guidelines and technology transfer, emphasising collaboration, leadership, planning, support, operation, performance evaluation and improvement. ISO 56002 aligns with various aspects of technology transfer, emphasising sustainability, connectivity and competitiveness. Implementing ISO 56002 drives organisational growth and successful technology transfer.

Understanding private consultants’ involvement in technology transfer – a case study

PurposeIn the realm of innovation systems and technology transfer (TT), the emergence of open innovation and complex market dynamics has amplified innovation intermediaries’ prominence of their role and involvement in TT projects. This study delves into private consultants’ involvement in TT projects, namely in what got them involved by the project’s key stakeholders.Design/methodology/approachAn iterative two-phased research approach was followed, including exploratory interviews and a quantitative case study of a consultancy firm engaged in 219 TT projects.FindingsFive main key motivators were found to lead TT stakeholders to involve private consultants in their TT projects, being the most relevant, the proactivity of private consultants.Originality/valueThe case study and results provide an alternative perspective of TT endeavours, emphasising the importance given by TT stakeholders (mostly recipient companies) to private consultants’ involvement as innovation intermediaries.

Currently, the main goal of the country's economic policy is to increase the competitiveness of the state. One of the measures to ensure optimal competitiveness is the approval of innovation strategies at all levels - federal, regional, sectoral, corporate. At the same time, the competitiveness of modern economy - depends not only on technological achievements, inventions, knowledge production, but also on organisational changes that promote the commercialisation of scientific and technological research. In this regard, the advantages of the cluster approach are increasingly becoming one of the ways to improve the system of innovation diffusion and technology transfer. The chosen topic is important because innovation contributes to the development of regions, increasing competitiveness, strengthening economic growth points through high-tech innovation, such as innovation clusters, research centres and other forms of institutional support., The purpose of this study is to summarise the material studied, to identify opportunities for improving the territorial innovation cluster of the Lipetsk region.

Industrial revolution and smart farming: a critical analysis of research components in Industry 4.0

PurposeThe domains of Industry 4.0 and Smart Farming encompass the application of digitization, automation, and data-driven decision-making principles to revolutionize conventional sectors. The intersection of these two fields has numerous opportunities for industry, society, science, technology and research. Relatively, this intersection is new, and still, many grey areas need to be identified. This research is a step toward identifying research areas and current trends.Design/methodology/approachThe present study examines prevailing research patterns and prospective research prospects within Industry 4.0 and Smart Farming. This is accomplished by utilizing the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) methodology applied to the data procured from the Scopus database.FindingsBy examining the available literature extensively, the researchers have successfully discovered and developed three separate research questions. The questions mentioned above were afterward examined with great attention to detail after using LDA on the dataset. The paper highlights a notable finding on the lack of existing scholarly research in the examined combined field. The existing database consists of a restricted collection of 51 scholarly papers. Nevertheless, the forthcoming terrain harbors immense possibilities for exploration and offers a plethora of prospects for additional investigation and cerebral evaluation.Research limitations/implicationsThis study examines the Industrial Revolution's and Smart Farming's practical effects, focusing on Industry 4.0 research. The proposed method could help agricultural practitioners implement Industry 4.0 technology. It could additionally counsel technology developers on innovation and ease technology transfer. Research on regulatory frameworks, incentive programs and resource conservation may help policymakers and government agencies.Practical implicationsThe paper proposes that the incorporation of Industry 4.0 technology into agricultural operations can enhance efficiency, production and sustainability. Furthermore, it highlights the significance of creating user-friendly solutions specifically tailored for farmers and companies. The study indicates that the implementation of supportive legislative frameworks, incentive programmes and resource conservation methods might encourage the adoption of smart agricultural technologies, resulting in the adoption of more sustainable practices.Social implicationsThis study examines the Industrial Revolution's and Smart Farming's practical effects, focusing on Industry 4.0 research. The proposed method could help agricultural practitioners implement Industry 4.0 technology. It could additionally counsel technology developers on innovation and ease technology transfer. However, notable progress has been achieved in the field of seclusion. To date, the provided dataset has not been subjected to analysis using the LDA technique by any researcher.

Pemberdayaan Kelompok Pembudidaya Ikan Desa Pakowa Bunta dengan Menggunakan Ekstrak Daun Sirih (Piper betle L.) dalam Pakan pada Budidaya Ikan Nila Sistem Bioflok

Pakowa Bunta Village is one of the villages in Nuhon District, Banggai Regency, physically it is a lowland area located on the coastline. The large area of tilapia ponds in Pakowa Bunta Village and the suboptimal management of tilapia cultivation have caused many tilapia fish to die. The repeated failure of cultivation in the traditional system of tilapia cultivation in Pakowa Bunta Village requires the transfer of innovative fish cultivation technology from the traditional system to the biofloc system. This community service activity aims to improve the skills and knowledge of fish cultivator groups regarding biofloc system fish cultivation and increase the economic income of fish cultivators in Pakowa Bunta Village. The approach used to resolve partner problems in this activity is the Community Development method, which is oriented towards developing community empowerment by making the community the subject and object of development and direct involvement in various service activities. The final result achieved from this community service activity is an increase in the skills of the fish cultivator group in innovating tilapia cultivation technology using a biofloc system that is modified by using betel leaf extract in the feed given to tilapia, resulting in an increase in tilapia production and an increase in the community's economic income of fish farmers.

INFORMATION SECURITY IS A FACTOR INCREASING THE EFFICIENCY OF THE SEED INDUSTRY

Increasing the efficiency of seed production in the country is of strategic and food importance. It takes into account the components and tools of marketing that will primarily increase the potential of agricultural production and determine its competitive advantages. The article examines the important issue of the application of information support mechanisms in the field of seed production in order to satisfy the needs of the domestic agro-producer in high-quality seed material and increase its competitiveness and volume of sales on the international market. It was determined that filling the market with the seeds of cultivated plants of domestic selection is the improvement of scientific and advisory support of agricultural formations and the rural population. It has been confirmed that domestic agricultural science, implemented on the basis of innovation, needs a systematic approach to the practical implementation of the transfer of intellectual innovative technologies, and scientifically based information and marketing support. The rise of information technologies in the field of agribusiness and seed production can be carried out by automating business processes related to the production of seeds of primary links and higher reproductions and the organization of the sales market, the formation of orders for production and financial and economic support.

Directions for improving the concept of technology for the purpose of financial support for their transfer within the European Union

The object of this study is the essence and directions of improvement of the normative construction of the concept of technology, which is used within the framework of legal regulation of financial support of the innovation process and technology transfer within the framework of the law of the European Union. In the course of summarizing and studying the existing regulations, it was established that they are not unified and differ significantly. This does not meet the needs of participants in the innovation process and subjects of technology transfer. It has been proven that the most negative impact of the disparity of legal regulation occurs during the implementation of means of financial support for innovative processes. The expediency of improving the existing concept of technology definition by fixing its single generalized definition has been substantiated. Authentic definition of technology is proposed as information of an organizational and technical nature about the sequence of production operations, which can be expressed in the form of the results of scientific research, research and design works, a system of objects of intellectual property rights, information of an organizational and technical nature, technological documentation, equipment, tools, machines, and mechanisms. It was substantiated that this definition makes it possible to eliminate most of the identified problems and is formed on the basis of the existing needs of the participants of technology transfer. The study is aimed at the formation of general theoretical foundations for improving the essence of technology for the purposes of legal support for financial support of innovation processes and technology transfer in the European Union. The research results could be used in the formation of international normative acts, acts of national legislation, and serve as a basis for further scientific research on these issues

Devising an economic-legal approach to the viability of innovative technology transfer in the process of its commercialization

The object of this study is to determine the economic effect of technology transfer during the period of its viability. This paper suggests a methodology that takes into account the appropriate amount of profit and the accumulated amount of royalties in the commercial use of innovative technology. The necessity of taking into account the viability of the transfer of innovative technology as the beginning of its new life cycle was substantiated. The possibility of formalizing this process in the form of an assessment of the sum of the present values of all projected cash flows, taking into account the eligibility criterion and the barrier rate, has been established. We propose an approach, which, unlike the existing ones, consists in allocating a certain period of viability of innovative technology transfer in the life cycle of technology. It is argued that based on the results of technology renovation, it is possible to assess the economic effect of its transfer due to the benefits of implementation and achievement of licensing activity by expanding the number of licensees. We substantiate the possibility of generating profits and royalties to the licensor as the amount of investment that can and should be directed to the development of a fundamentally new or improved technology in relation to the previous one. The transition to a new technology causes an increase in the overall technological level and leads to the formation of a technological gap between the S-shaped life curves of technical systems and, in parallel, forms a new S-shaped curve of a new technological system based on new knowledge. An economic and legal approach to the development of a methodology for determining the economic effect or viability of innovative-level TT was implemented. The results of the current study could be used in the formation of legislative and subordinate national regulations, as well as serve as a basis for further research on this issue

The synergistic effect of innovation transfer in the agricultural sector: Regional aspect

The article considers the concept of “transfer of innovations”, taking into account the specifics of the Russian agricultural sector and its basic structural elements. Its stages are highlighted, starting from the technology audit and ending with signing a contract and selling the technology to an interested partner. The reasons for the slow pace of transfer of innovative agricultural technologies and their impact on the effectiveness of the agricultural sector are explored. Promising technology transfer mechanisms in the agriculture are examined, considering their importance for this sector of the Russian economy. The author’s approach to systematization of the main areas for improving the transfer of innovative technologies in the agricultural sector in the country’s regions is offered and their importance to the regional economy is emphasized. The sources of the synergies occurring during the transfer of innovative technologies are identified and further promising research trends in this field are determined.

Assessing the role of emerging green technology transfer in sustainable development and identification of key regions in Yangtze River Delta region

Green innovation technology transfer (GITT) has become an essential means to realizing regional sustainable development due to its dual attributes in economy and society. To better understand GITT's importance and mechanism in regional sustainable development, we propose new evidence on its significance at the city-regional scale based on green innovation technology patent transfer data from the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), involving 41 cities in the Yangtze River Delta from 2012 to 2020. We find that the Yangtze River Delta's global GITT network has become increasingly dense, moving from existing only within single cities or among geographically adjacent cities to a jump-type interactive cooperation network structure. The hierarchical network structure is broken, the direct paths connecting cities are increasing, redundant connections are being reduced, and the network is increasingly stable and flat. The core cities have been upgraded from a closed-door in-city state to stronger and more open external connections and internal sources. We also find that the development of staged outreach of green technology is key to the region's sustainable development.

The six-helix model of technology transfer innovation ecosystem

Based on the analysis of the development of models of technology transfer, the concept of open innovation, innovation systems and innovation ecosystems, the approach of an effective technology transfer in the conditions of the development of innovative economy is proposed. A multi-level technology transfer ecosystem is proposed in the "Six Helix" innovation ecosystem model, which is based on the generation of new innovative enterprises based on technologies developed in research institutes/universities using: direct classical technology transfer, reverse technology transfer and outward transfer of open innovations.

Labour-Use Efficiency of Rice Farmers in Nigeria’s North-Central Region

A cross-sectional data collected through structured questionnaire coupled with an interview schedule from 360 rice farmers selected via a multi-stage sampling technique was used to determine the labour efficiency of rice farmers in Nigeria’s North-Central region. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the 2020 cropping season data. The empirical evidences showed a farming population that is gender biased due to gender stereotype, thus affected women’s access to and control over productive resources. Besides, economic-productive people that explored pecuniary advantages to achieve economies of scale engaged in cultivation of thinly uneconomic holding. The poor economic status of the farm families made most of the farmers to rely on family labour for farm operations, thus keeping most of their children and young ones out of school. Furthermore, most of the farmers were fairly efficient in the use of labour with little technical support required to enable them to achieve optimum labour efficiency level (frontier point). However, the empirical evidences showed competition for labour demand between farm and off-farm activities, and, conservative and complacency attitudes due to longevity in the enterprise to be the factors that affected labour efficiency. Therefore, the study calls for gender mainstreaming in the agricultural budget to overcome women’s challenge on productive resources; incentivized the enterprise viz. credit provision; and, adoption of a bottom-to-top approach in research and practical demonstration approach in the transfer of innovative rice technologies.

Framing the main patterns of an academic innovation ecosystem. Evidence from a knowledge-intensive case study

PurposeThis research aims to shed new lights on the most shared constructs developed on Innovation Ecosystems, Entrepreneurial Ecosystems and Technology Transfer Ecosystem proposing an additional stand-alone ecosystem.Design/methodology/approachThis research is built upon a qual-quantitative analysis of an empirical case. The latter analysis is performed through a single case study methodology on the San Giovanni Hub of the Federico II University of Naples.FindingsEvidences show how a technological hub orchestrates three main ecosystems for the knowledge exploitation: the technology transfer ecosystem, devoted to gather knowledge form universities' labs towards industries; the innovation ecosystem, able to manage the exploration and exploitation of new knowledge and techniques; the entrepreneurial ecosystem, that supports startup/spinoff creation process.Research limitations/implicationsLimitations mainly concern the fact that it is centred on just one case study.Practical implicationsPractical implications imply new opportunities of collaboration involving different stakeholders as university administrators, researchers, businesses and policymakers, creating a supportive environment for innovation.Originality/valueThe research offers a new vision about the role of Universities as creators and enablers of ecosystems pursuing diverse value propositions. The Academic Innovation Ecosystem is a new conceptualization of this role played by a university, and it can convey innovation and entrepreneurial attitude within its ecosystem leveraging on the transfer of university knowledge and technology.

Directions for the implementation of regulatory means for the application of tax benefits in the general system of regulatory regulation of technology support means

This paper substantiates the expediency of conducting scientific research into the formation of the concept of tax benefits within the framework of technology transfer, which would meet the strategic interests of the state and business needs. The study is aimed at finding the optimal level of tax benefits within the existing means of state support for the introduction of new technologies. It is proved that the effectiveness of preferential taxation depends on the area of implementation, the level of the economy, the sustainability and immutability of tax legislation. Normative means of formation of a system of preferential taxation of innovation activity and technology transfer within the legal system are proposed, namely: 1) a candidate for tax benefits from the state must undergo a special permitting procedure for confirming its legal status; 2) the system of tax benefits for participants in innovative relations and technology transfer should include two options for tax systems. On the one hand, there should be a system of tax benefits based on a preferential rate of income tax, value added tax, and an increased level of depreciation. On the other hand, a special type of simplified taxation system should be implemented, which should contain special (preferential) rates for paying a single tax; 3) the types of activities that can be carried out by business entities wishing to receive tax benefits should be limited by law. Such activities should include only those that carry out activities in the field of social production of goods. The results of the study take into account the world experience of using similar means of support and can be used in the formation of regulatory means for regulating these relations

Regional Assessment at the Province Level of Agricultural Science and Technology Development in China

Science and technology innovation are crucial components underpinning agriculture. We constructed an evaluation framework including 4 pillars and 21 indicators, taking 31 provinces in China as examples to examine the level of agriculture science and technology development from a regional perspective. We found that there is an obvious gap between east and west nationwide, and that only about half of the provinces have reached the high and medium levels. It was worth noting that the innovation conditions in Shanghai and Beijing presented huge advantages, of vital importance to a first-class talent team, a complete innovation system, a stable and prosperous market, and active exchanges and cooperation. In addition, to maximize the transformation of agricultural science and technology achievements into real productivity, local government should also strengthen the construction of agricultural research and innovation platforms, technology transfer, and transformation of results. The findings advance understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the evaluation subjects’ agricultural science and technology development from a regional perspective and are expected to provide some basis for the government and stakeholders to make relevant decisions.

СУЧАСНІ ПІДХОДИ ДО ВИЗНАЧЕННЯ ЕФЕКТИВНОСТІ ІНВЕСТИЦІЙ В МАРКЕТИНГУ

The article discusses modern approaches to determining the effectiveness of investments in marketing projects related to the use of innovative technologies. The process of commercialization of innovative technologies involves the modeling of value chains, as it can transform them or form new ones. When implementing the commercialization process, it should be taken into account that the economic effect can be obtained both from the sale of innovative technology and from its consumption. However, these processes cannot be considered separately, since the transfer of innovative technology without installation, maintenance, and personnel training cannot be due to the fact that it is a combination of goods and services, and its seller is included in the consumer value chain. Therefore, economic efficiency should be presented as the effect of the functioning of a new or modified value chain. These aspects determine the perspective and limits of marketing effectiveness research during the implementation of the marketing project commercialization process. An important fact presented in the article is the impossibility of discretely determining the effectiveness of marketing communications on each subsequent stage due to the complexity of the process commercialization of innovative technology marketing project. The result of obtaining an effect on each stage are the efforts (projects, programs, actions) implemented at this stage marketing communications and undertaken on previous stage of commercialization. The effects of the commercialization of innovative technologies have a multidimensional and complex structure consisting of the effects of innovations and of the marketing of innovative technologies, and in an integrated form and create an even more complex structure of effects. It becomes the main reason for the complexity of the methods of evaluating the effectiveness of marketing during the commercialization of innovative technologies. The main thesis is that the calculation is to be able to analyze all the marketing tools used in commercialization and to have enough material, information and financial resources.

РОЗВИТОК ТА ФУНКЦІОНУВАННЯ РИНКУ МЕДИЧНИХ ПОСЛУГ В УМОВАХ ГЛОБАЛІЗАЦІЇ ТА ІНТЕГРАЦІЇ

The article reveals significant globalization trends of the world market of medical services and unites them into four groups: political (functioning of international organizations, activities of interstate non-governmental organizations and charitable foundations, exit of intellectual property rights protection procedures to the global level), economic (liberalization of trade in medical services , monopolization of the world pharmaceutical market by TNCs, formation of medical clusters), technological (intensification of information exchange, use of international standards of medical care, development of modern treatment methods, medical technologies and equipment) and social (international migration of medical specialists, internationalization of medical education, spread global epidemics). It was determined that these trends have a mostly positive impact on the development of the world market of medical services. One notes that the maximum possible use of the advantages of international cooperation to improve the quality of medical services, the transfer of innovative technologies, the acquisition and development of modern equipment and medicines, the introduction of modern treatment protocols with the simultaneous minimization of the negative consequences of globalization processes must be taken into account when developing strategic plans for transformation and development sphere of health care of Ukraine. The article identifies the negative manifestations of globalization: bureaucratic decision-making process by international organizations, stagnation of national health care systems as a result of the liberalization of trade in medical services, an increase in the general level of drug prices due to a significant level of monopolization of the international pharmaceutical market, a decrease in the number of the working population and shortages qualified workers as a result of labor migration and the internationalization of higher education, the emergence of economic and social crises due to the spread of infectious diseases, the need for significant amounts of investment for the introduction of modern technologies. One identifies the measures to minimize globalization risks: creating optimal conditions for the productive work of medical workers (salary, equipping workplaces, improving qualifications, protecting intellectual property rights, stimulating research and innovation), preventing stagnation in the field of health care by ensuring a constant flow of investment funds (insurance funds of state and non-state institutions, international grants, international cooperation programs, funds of charitable funds), constant improvement of the response system to natural and man-made emergencies.

Pengembangan Hortikultura Lahan Kering dan Penerapan Teknologi Budidaya Ramah Lingkungan untuk Meningkatkan Pendapatan Petani Di Desa Sukadana Lombok Utara

One important issue of agricultural development in the dry land area of North Lombok Regency is how to increase the Cropping Index that supported by the availability of sufficient water, especially for the development of horticultural commodities. The increase in the Planting Index is expected to lead to an increase in community welfare, specifically an increase in farmers' incomes. The development of horticulture is intended to provide added value to farmers' income by applying environmentally friendly Good Agricultural Practices with production management in accordance with the conditions of natural resources. One area of dry land that has sufficient potential for horticultural development in North Lombok Regency is Sukadana Village. Problems faced by dry land farmers include the level of knowledge and skills of farmers, especially in the management of horticultural commodities and the relatively low level of farmer participation. To overcome these problems, innovation technology transfer is needed through the development of environmentally friendly horticultural crops by regulating cropping systems and improving cultivation technology to increase farmers' incomes. Counseling and training, as well as demonstration plots for improved cultivation technology and regulation of horticultural cropping patterns were carried out during Mei-November 2022. Community service activities were considered quite successful in terms of the enthusiasm and perseverance of participants in participating in counseling and training, as well as demonstration plots (tomato plants, chili peppers, intercropped chili peppers and sawi/pachoy). The results of the demonstration plot showed a significant increase both in crop productivity and increased income per unit area of arable land. On going assistance from all parties, especially the local government, is expected to sustainably develop horticultural commodities in order to increase the income of dry land farmers.

The development of countries is now mostly dependent on their research and how fast they can convert the results into tangible products and services. Employment of research for industrial development is not being encouraged in developing countries. Developing countries must engage more in research that will contribute positively to their economy. Encouraging collaboration and entrepreneurship within and across different disciplines will serve as impetus to create alternative local products as well as chart a course for a competitive future. The transfer of innovative research and technology from our universities and research centers into the economy can be driven by university lecturers and researchers from institutes.
