Scientific and technological progress (hereinafter referred to as STP) is an evolutionary process, during which the development and improvement of both food and production methods is ensured, as a result of increasing the level of scientific knowledge and the introduction of this knowledge into production; the practical implementation of the achievements of STP is called an innovative process. At all stages of the development of feed production, great importance was attached to the intensification of this branch of agriculture based on the introduction of STPs, which is manifested in the development of production forces, technology, organization and management of production. On the basis of the development of productive forces, qualitative changes are taking place in science, technology, technologies, leading to a deep restructuring of feed production. At the current stage, qualitative changes in the development of science and technology are taking place, production conditions are changing, STP is accelerating. This is manifested in the qualitative transformation of feed production, tools and objects of labor, the energy base, technology, organization and management of production; scientific and technical achievements in economic practice are being introduced faster; connections in the science-technology-production chain become more intensive and deeper. In accordance with this, the article considers the main innovative directions for the production, procurement and storage of feed based on the use of the latest means of mechanization of feed production, innovative progressive technologies, including digital (information), a rational combination of traditional and rare, but promising, innovative types and varieties of feed crops. Taking into account these areas, groups of achievements of STP in feed production were determined.
