Implementing Quasi-Experimental in Educational Intervention Towards a Mobile Application Approach to Mute and Deaf Students

Mobile applications have become an important tool in various fields especially education. However, the implementation of technology in education to students with mute and deaf disabilities is still less than normal students. This is due to the lack of digital materials that suit the needs of students. Innovation in education is needed to translate research results into life as practice. This study aims to implement a quasi-experimental research method on the technology intervention of teaching and learning materials in Education. This study reviewed articles and books that discuss the design of quasi-experimental studies. Findings showed that, the test question items for section A that were tested showed students who answered correctly at the level above average. There is one item that is below average. While for sections B and C all items tested students can answer well at a level above average. Based on these findings, the implementation of quasi-experimental methods to determine the effectiveness of an innovation technology in Education is appropriate to determine the maximum impact on the use of technology.

Development of Moral Education Teaching Materials for Students at Arabic Education Department

The role of teaching materials are very crucial in learning as the media and source of information in improving learning effectiveness. Character teaching materials is a set of teaching materials that are used by lecturer in teaching process which can produce students with good behavior, personality and character. The useful of teaching materials or not is depend on the ability of lecturer to implement and develop them in order the steps to develop teaching materials should be mastered. Development of teaching materials based character is developed by considering the content and design of the materials that is used by students at Arabic education department of Islamic religion Faculty. The development of teaching materials has been validated by experts of content and design materials by conducting interview. After being revised, teaching materials has reached the standard of eligibility from the experts’ assessment of content and design material. Based on data analysis of the effectiveness of teaching materials during the trial by distributing questionnaire and analyzed by using SPSS 23 version, it obtained teaching materials was categorized into neutral namely 69.1%. It means at trial activity, the respondents stated teaching materials neither good nor bad. After being revised from experts, the researchers distributed the questionnaire again to look at the effectiveness teaching materials. After being revised, the effectiveness of teaching materials increases to very good category. It can be proved by respondents’ respond namely 51.87 stated very good.

DIGITAL MEDIA INFORMATION LITERACY PROGRAM FOR TEACHER

The development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is very rapid. APJII 2020 data revealed that internet penetration in Indonesia reached 73.7% (196.7 million people) of the entire Indonesian population of 267 million people. This condition allows the dissemination of information so quickly and easily, whether it is positive and useful information or hoaxes. This also has an impact on the world of education. The sophistication of the internet is misunderstood as a learning method. As a result, plagiarism and googling exam answers have become a habit for students. Therefore, the community service team created an information literacy education program for the teacher community. This program aims to introduce the concept of information literacy, how to verify hoaxes, plagiarism and how to write articles for teaching materials. The methods used are webinars, FGDs, writing reflections, and guidance on writing articles for teaching materials. The results of the program evaluation showed an increase in the information literacy skills of the participants. Articles written on teaching materials for teachers are published as an ISBN book with the title "My Class Story".

Management of Material Component Development in Multicultural Islamic Education Curriculum

This article will analyze and interpret the concepts of the components of the multicultural PAI curriculum, the learning process and management of the development of the components of the multicultural Islamic religious education teaching materials at SMK Nusa Unggul Husada. This research is qualitative. The development model used is the McKenny model which consists of preliminary analysis, planning stages, and evaluation. The research subjects were students of SMK Nusa Unggul Husada. The research instruments are observation sheets, interviews, assessment sheets, evaluation sheets and validation sheets. Furthermore, data processing is carried out with qualitative description. Data were analyzed comprehensively according to the characteristics of qualitative research. The result is that the concept of material components in the multicultural PAI curriculum is a series of activities carried out in the form of compiling and developing content to achieve goals. Multicultural PAI learning at Nusa Unggul Husada Vocational School is focused on understanding multicultural Islamic religious education materials comprehensively and then being applied in a multicultural school environment in terms of language, culture, religion, ethnicity, and even gender diversity. The development of the components of teaching materials in the learning process that has been carried out illustrates the validity of the learning tools. The use of multicultural PAI learning tools as a whole falls into the practical category in terms of the implementation of the implementation plan.

Developing Islamic Education and Local Culture Textbooks

This study aimed to determine the need for Islamic education courses and local culture at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training IAIN Palopo and to determine the prototype, validity, practicality, and effectiveness of teaching materials for Islamic education and local culture based on the integrative-interconnective paradigm at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training IAIN Palopo. The type of research used was development research. The research was conducted at the Palopo State Islamic Institute in the 2020/2021 academic year. This study concludes that a textbook that can integrate Islamic education and local culture is needed, consisting of 7 chapters, 28 subchapters, and 28 materials; textbooks are very valid, practical, and effective to be used as teaching materials for Islamic education courses local culture.

Pengembangan Bahan Ajar Statistik Pendidikan Berbasis Learning Cycle 5E dan Dampaknya Terhadap Peningkatan Hasil Belajar

This study aims to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of Educational Statistics teaching materials based 5E Learning Cycle. This research used Research and Development model. The average validation results from evaluation & curriculum experts and material experts are 3.64 and 3.69 (very valid). This means that the teaching material is said to be feasible. Practicality is obtained from the student's response to teaching material of 93.68% (very positive) and observations of implementation of teaching materials with an average of 1.73 (implemented entirely). Thus the teaching materials are said to be very practical. Furthermore, effectiveness of teaching materials was measured by using paired samples test. The results showed that there were significant differences in learning outcomes between before and after using the Education Statistics teaching materials that had been developed. In other words, the average student learning outcomes after using Educational Statistics teaching materials based Learning Cycle 5E have increased.

Preliminary Study on the Development of Infographic-Based Islamic Education Teaching Materials to Improve Soft Skills for High School Students in Surakarta

Purpose – This research aims to conduct an initial assessment of students' attitudes in high school, with a focus on Islamic education, which is one of the benchmarks in soft skills development activities.
 Design/methods/approach – This study uses research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) with three stages in it, namely the preliminary, development, and testing stages. To increase students' soft skills, an infographic-based Islamic Religious Education teaching material was designed in this study.
 Findings – According to preliminary research conducted at senior high schools in Surakarta with class XI subjects, Islamic learning does not provide opportunities for students to improve their soft skills. This is requiring the development of learning tools, one of which is infographic-based teaching materials, to assist in achieving the expected competencies.
 Research limitations – This study focuses on acquiring Islamic education in high school, with a focus on the limitations of development in teaching materials that affect students' ability to obtain competencies in the form of soft skills.
 Originality/value – A preliminary investigation into the development of teaching materials in Islamic education courses, namely for senior secondary school, was studied further in this study. The development of soft skills is one of the things that is actively supported in the development of character education in Indonesian schools.

Development of the CPOL design to improve the ability to develop teaching materials

This study aims to develop an online-based collaborative project learning model design that can improve students’ abilities in developing teaching materials. The method used is research and development. Data collection instruments are questionnaires and rubrics. Data analysis used descriptive statistics. The validation test used the individual content validity index and the overall content validity index. The Collaborative Project Online Learning (CPOL) model developed consists of six stages in learning: (1) orientation, (2) understanding project concepts and tasks, (3) designing and determining project themes, (4) working on project assignments, (5) presenting project assignments, and (6) evaluating project assignments. The results show that the content validity index shows a good category. Students are also good at developing teaching materials. Thus, the design of the CPOL model can be used in the course of developing teaching materials in higher education.

The Development of Multicultural Based Islamic Education Curriculum in General Higher Education

The development of Islamic Religious Education curriculum in Indonesian Public Universities is a necessity, because the nation which is undergoing changes in this era of democratization requires a framework of thinking and proper implementation for students. This is especially so when it is associated with the multiculturalism of this nation, both culture, ethnicity, language, and religion. The purpose of this research is mainly to get answers about how to develop a curriculum for Islamic religious education in public universities based on multiculturalism. Then this study also aims to obtain data on the implementation and development of teaching materials for Islamic religious education in public universities. The methods used in this research include: survey, exposed facto method, phenomenology related to developments that have been carried out by public universities and evaluating them. Thus, the qualitative and explanatory approaches are interrelated with each other. The results of this study are in the form of descriptions of Islamic religious education materials in public universities that have been developed over the last 3 years. In addition, the main material for PAI can be stated as a benchmark for MKDU in Indonesian universities.

The Investigation of Mobile Virtual Reality Application Instructional Content in Geography Education: Academic Achievement, Presence, and Student Interaction

In this study, we created an interactive Virtual Reality (VR) instructional application for geography education. The sample consisted of 9th grade students as 20 students in the control group and 20 students in the experimental group. Expository Instruction Methods, one of the traditional teaching methods, were applied to the control group, and the teacher on the slide explained the “Shape and Movements of the Earth” as the subject. The students in the experimental group used the VR-based interactive teaching environment we designed for the same subject under the supervision of a teacher. We explored the relationship between students’ level of presence and their academic achievement and received students’ opinions. The students’ academic scores in the experimental group were higher with a statistically significant difference than the control group, and we found that the motivation was higher in the experimental group. The research aims to show the effect of using VR interactive teaching materials in geography education, specifically for “Shape and Movements of the Earth”.

Formation of communicative competence of higher education students in the conditions of distance learning

The subject of research: the formation of professional communicative competence in the training of teachers of vocational training in higher education institutions in terms of distance learning. The purpose of the study is to form knowledge not only on knowledge and technology, but also to develop dynamically in accordance with the needs and requirements of the time, for both applicants and teachers. Therefore, based on new information technologies, higher education should be ahead of schedule in updating educational information and teaching materials. The field of application of results. The results of the study can be used in the activities of higher education to increase the effectiveness of the formation of communicative competence in the training of teachers of vocational training in commodity science in the context of distance learning. On the basis of the conducted research the approaches in improvement of communicative competence of applicants of higher education in the conditions of distance learning are revealed.

Effect of Educational Videos on the Interest, Motivation, and Preparation Processes for Mathematics Courses

Videos are widely used teaching materials in education. The current research aimed to conduct an examination of the effects that different educational videos prepared for the distance education model had on the motivation, interest, and course preparation processes of students for mathematics courses. A total of 106 (80 females and 26 males) mathematics teacher candidates agreed to participate in the current study. Two different educational videos were used in the study. The first of these was prepared by the educator, while the second was taken from the Khan Academy education videos. It was determined that, although the educational videos prepared by the educator made no significant difference with regard to the motivation of the students toward the course, there was a significant difference with regard to the level of interest in the course. On the other hand, the Khan Academy videos were found to have a significant effect on the pre-test as well as the post-test scores of the motivation of students toward the course, but did not result in a significant difference in their interest in the course.

DEVELOPMENT OF TEACHING MATERIALS INTEGRATED WITH CULTURAL VALUES IN SMA KABUPATEN ACEH BESAR

Learning tools play an important role and become a reference for teachers in schools. In this case, the importance of developing teaching materials is equally important in the development of learning devices because teaching materials are part of learning devices so that teachers are required to have the ability to develop their own learning tools. The purpose of this study was to develop Islamic religious education teaching materials through a sociocultural approach to high school students in Aceh Besar. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach. Qualitative research is research that describes the data obtained in the field. Information that has been obtained in the field either through direct observation, interviews, document review, and official records at each school that is the object of research. The research results found that; The development of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teaching materials is by integrating cultural values with Islamic Religious Education (PAI), starting with the search for cultural values which are then collected to understand the meaning contained in them through competent literatures and cultural figures. in the field; the development of PAI teaching materials based on social and cultural references is by looking at the local wisdom of the local culture. In this research, the local wisdom raised is about hadih maja; the development of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teaching materials that accommodate socio-cultural values or local culture (local genius) is by combining the material in the RPP with local wisdom material in Aceh Besar.

Biological knowledge is one of the fundamental components of a common human culture, because without knowledge of biology it is unthinkable to develop an ecological way of thinking, to ensure the perception of the scientific principles of interaction of the Man-Nature system. The formation of a healthy lifestyle, the preservation of ecosystems, and the development of mankind are based on knowledge of biology. The purpose of the article is to develop and use a model of a methodology for organizing project-based education in biology in non-core institutions of secondary vocational education. The interrelation of theoretical knowledge and practical skills is a prerequisite for increasing the level of training of future specialists in any industry. In connection with the introduction of new FSES SPE into the work of educational institutions, secondary schools are required to improve the organization of the educational process and teaching materials. The involvement of students in the implementation of various projects leads to the development and development of project competence, and its level is determined by the number and quality of developed projects. The author concludes that the formation of competencies among students at secondary schools through project activities takes place.

Throughout the essay we propose an analysis of the evolution of teaching resources and materials in Early Childhood Education, focused on the visibility and inclusion of sex-gender diversities in said educational stage, given the importance of teaching materials in the teaching and learning process, taking into account its link with the hidden curriculum. Likewise, we expose the importance of the initial and continuous training of teachers in terms of affective-sexual and sex-gender diversity in order to carry out a thorough and adjusted selection of resources and materials, as well as an effective use of them with the students in the classroom. At the same time, we expose the obstacles that are currently found in classrooms for the projection of sex-gender diversity and we provide current, innovative and attractive resources for working with students in an inclusive manner with sexual, affective and gender diversities.

Teaching statistics to students using authentic research is one way to highlight the transferability and value of the material taught in the class. Below we describe an activity in Statistics for Biological and Health Sciences (STAT2510), an introductory required course for the specified majors, at Auburn University in Fall 2018. In this activity, the students were asked to read and critically evaluate a scientific paper, and perform the quantitative analysis themselves. The scientific paper is based on research conducted by another researcher from within the Biology Department of the same institution. This was an effective activity for introductory statistics because it: (1) did not require substantial background knowledge for students, (2) encouraged students to grapple with real data in an authentic research context, and (3) relates to gender equity, which is of general interest to students both within and outside of STEM . Suggestions for adapting this approach to other topics and audiences are provided.

Online and offline hybrid teaching breaks the discontinuity of traditional teaching, provides teachers with a variety of evaluation channels, provides students with rich teaching resources, expands and enriches the teaching content of Japanese courses, and makes Japanese course teaching rich and colorful. The cultural nature of the Japanese course determines the feasibility of developing the course ideology and politics, and the internationality determines the necessity of developing the course ideology and politics, which is conducive to cultivating students' patriotic feelings and humanistic quality.
