Developing Teachers Digital Competence Through International STEM Coding Training

The purpose of this Community Service is to enhance the digital skill of teachers with coding training in STEM in the city of Palembang. Sriwijaya University is organizing this community service in collaboration with ARtec Japan and Indonesian STEM Association for the benefit of. There are 46 participating teachers attending this event, coming from different levels of education: SD, SMP, dan SMA (primary and secondary school). After the community service activities, a significant improvement was noted in the participants' understanding and technical skills on how to use coding in the classroom. This is evidenced by increased posttest scores across all elements in the provided evaluation instrument with a mean increase of 28 points. The approaches used in this training are lectures, practical training, and mentoring. In conclusion, what can be done from this training is that well-organized STEM Coding Training has boosted digital literacy, technical skills, and the confidence of instructors themselves

Analysis of the relationship between high school teachers 21st century teaching and learning skills

In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between 21st century teaching and learning skills of high secondary school teachers. In line with this main purpose, firstly, the levels of high education teachers' use of 21st century teacher and learner skills were determined; then it was examined whether the levels of use of these skills differed according to the gender, years of professional seniority and the type of school they worked in. The research was designed according to correlational research design. The participants of the study consisted of a total of 282 high education teachers working in high schools affiliated to the MoNE within the borders of Altınordu district of Ordu province in the 2023-2024 academic year. In the data analysis process, total scores, mean, and standard deviation values were calculated to determine the levels at which high school teachers use 21st-century teaching and learning skills. To identify whether the levels of 21st-century teaching and learning skills vary by gender, years of experience, and type of school where teachers work, independent sample t-tests and one-way ANOVA tests were conducted. According to the results of the study, it was determined that high school teachers used affirmative skills with the highest score, then technopedagogical skills, administrative skills, generative skills and flexible teaching skills with the lowest score among 21st century teaching skills. Among the 21st century learning skills of high school teachers, it was determined that they used cognitive skills with the highest score, then innovativeness skills, collaboration and flexibility skills and autonomous skills with the lowest score. Within the scope of the other sub-problem of the research, there was no significant difference between the gender and professional seniority variables of the teachers and the level of use of 21st century teaching and learning skills of high school teachers. According to the school type, there was a significant difference between the levels of high education teachers' use of 21st century teaching and learning skills. According to the results obtained within the scope of the problem based on the research, it was concluded that there is a significant positive relationship between the levels of use of 21st century teaching skills and 21st century learning skills of high education teachers.

Training and Assistance for the Development of PjBL Teaching Materials Based on Strengthening the Pancasila Profile for Elementary School Teachers

Training and mentoring in the preparation of project-based learning materials (Project-Based Learning/PjBL) which focuses on strengthening the profile of Pancasila students aims to improve the understanding and skills of teachers at SDN 1 Kaleo in implementing the independence curriculum. This program consists of several stages: socialization, training, application of e-book technology, mentoring, and evaluation involving 21 teachers. The results showed a significant increase in teachers' understanding of the Pancasila student profile from 53.8% to 95.2%, understanding of the PjBL model from 51.6% to 97.3%, and teaching materials from 54.3% to 98.3%. The introduction of e-books as an innovation in teaching materials supports independent learning, especially for students with limited school attendance. Although there were challenges in selecting relevant projects and using e-books, the focus group discussion (FGD) approach and intensive mentoring helped overcome these challenges. This training opens up opportunities for SDN 1 Kaleo to become a training model for other schools, thus expanding the positive impact of this program. Thus, this research has succeeded in increasing teachers' capacity to support the independent curriculum and forming a young generation with character according to the profile of Pancasila students.

Teacher Professionalism: Opportunities and Challenges in the Education Delivery System

The study set out to characterize the professionalism of teacher preparation programs offered by islamic schools and institutions. This kind of research combines a review of the literature with qualitative methods. They gather data by locating and compiling information from various sources, including books, journals, and previous studies. Meanwhile, data analysis was done using data triangulation techniques, member checking, and auditing, as well as Miles & Huberman's data analysis methodologies, which include data reduction, data display, and conclusions. The professionalism of teachers is a good indicator of the quality of education, according to research findings. Several activities are conducted to enhance teacher professionalism, such as workshops, seminars, M.G.M.P., and training. They are improving the calibre of teachers by organizing, carrying out, and monitoring changes. Professional teachers in schools are beneficial in improving the quality of education, one of which is by conducting training related to experienced teachers in schools. Skilled teachers are applied by meeting the tools of teaching needs, attendance, making academic calendars, and having work meetings with other teachers. They are also proven by attending professional teacher improvement training in schools. Teachers must be competent to carry out the learning process utilizing the current I.T. systems since teacher professional education presents both opportunities and obstacles. Teacher quality is achieved by mastering learning supported by understanding their duties and responsibilities.

INVESTIGATION OF PRIMARY SCHOOL FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHERS' LINGUADIDACTIC COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS IN UTILIZING MATERIALS AND MODERN TEACHING TECHNOLOGIES

This study investigates the linguadidactic competencies and skills of primary school foreign language teachers in Kazakhstan, with a particular focus on their ability to effectively utilize teaching materials and modern educational technologies. As the demand for foreign language proficiency continues to grow, the role of teachers in fostering early language development becomes increasingly crucial. In this context, foreign language teachers' linguadidactic teaching competencies and their ability to use materials and modern teaching technologies were determined as the aim of this study. The study was conducted with causal and correlational survey methods from quantitative research methods. 'Teachers' Linguadidactic Teaching Competence' and 'Teachers' Skills in Using Materials and Modern Teaching Technologies' scales were used to collect the data. The findings reveal varying levels of competency in both linguadidactics and the use of modern teaching technologies. While some teachers demonstrate advanced skills, others struggle with integrating digital resources effectively. According to the findings of the study, teachers' linguadidactic teaching competencies and their skills in using materials and modern teaching technologies were found to be at a moderate level. In another finding of the study, teachers' linguadidactic teaching competencies and their skills of using materials and modern teaching technologies show differences according to gender variable. In addition, linguadidactic teaching competencies showed differences according to professional seniority variable. As teachers' professional seniority increases, their linguadidactic teaching competencies increase. Finally, teachers' ability to use materials and modern teaching technologies significantly affects their linguadidactic teaching efficacy.

Unveiling the numerical insights: A study on number sense skills of first graders and their teachers

This study explores the number sense skills of classroom teachers and first-grade primary school students in Uşak, Turkey, examining the impact of various demographic factors. A quantitative research design was employed, utilizing a survey model to gather data from 102 teachers and 341 students. The Number Sense Test (Teacher Form), developed by Kayhan Altay (2010), and the Number Sense Screener (Student Form), adapted by Uyanık Aktulun (2018) based on Jordan et al. (2010), were used as measurement instruments. The results revealed significant differences in number sense skills among teachers based on gender, professional experience, and training, and among students based on gender and parental education levels. Male teachers exhibited higher number sense skills compared to female teachers, and those with more professional experience and specific number sense training performed better. Among students, males outperformed females in certain number sense subcomponents, and higher parental education levels were associated with better student performance. These findings highlight the importance of targeted professional development for teachers and the crucial role of parental education levels in children's numerical development. The study underscores the need for early intervention programs and parental involvement to foster strong number sense skills, which are foundational for later mathematical achievement.

AI-Powered Training Program for Enhancing Teachers’ Skills in Creating Educational Digital Games

This research aimed to investigate the effectiveness of an artificial intelligence (AI)-based training program in developing electronic educational game production skills for teachers of students with learning disabilities. Data were collected using research tools, including an achievement test designed to measure cognitive skills and an observation checklist aimed at assessing performance in the production of electronic educational games. Using a quasi-experimental design with a single group, the research tools were applied and then the AI-based training program was implemented, with the tools being applied again afterwards. The research sample included all 50 teachers from public and private schools for students with learning disabilities in the Jazan region during the third semester of the academic year 1444 AH / 2023 AD. The results demonstrated that the AI-based training program helped teachers of students with learning disabilities improve their cognitive and performance skills in creating electronic educational games. In light of these findings, the researcher recommends employing AI-based programs in education and encourages collaboration between teachers and educational technology experts to achieve effective educational training methods and the continual development of technical skills among these teachers. Development of A Science Module Based on Local Culture of NTT to Enhance Critical Thinking Skills of Prospective Elementary School Teachers

The research aims to develop a Science Module based on Local Culture to enhance the Critical Thinking Skills of prospective Elementary School Teachers. This type of research is development research, using the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The subjects of this study were 30 fifth-semester students of the Elementary School Teacher Education Program, who acted as prospective teachers and used the Local Culture-Based Science Module in their coursework as part of a trial of the module's use. The data collection methods employed were questionnaires to gather information on validation, attractiveness, and practicality, as well as tests to assess effectiveness. The data analysis technique used was descriptive quantitative analysis, where total scores and values were calculated and then averaged to be interpreted according to predetermined criteria. The results obtained from the research process showed that the Local Culture-Based Science Module was valid with a validity score of 3.85, attractive with a score of 82.2, practical with a score of 80, and effective with an average final test score of 83.06. In conclusion, the Local Culture-Based Science Module is valid, attractive, practical, and effective for use as a teaching guide for prospective elementary school teachers

OPTIMALISASI KOMPETENSI PEDAGOGIK GURU SD MELALUI PEMBELAJARAN BERDIFERENSIASI BERBASIS ETHNO-RME

This community service is motivated by the importance of differentiated learning to facilitate students' learning needs, in addition to the need to use teaching materials that are close to students' daily lives through an approach based on Ethno-Realistic Mathematics Education. The purpose of this activity is to optimize the pedagogical and professional skills of elementary school teachers through training and mentoring in digital differentiated learning based on Ethno-Realistic Mathematics Education. This activity was carried out at SD Negeri Tunjung 1 involving 38 elementary school teachers who are members of the Teacher Working Group (KKG) Gugus 1 Korwil Kec. Tunjung Teja. Mentoring and training were carried out by three lecturers from La Tansa Mashiro University with presentations of materials related to differentiated learning, Ethno-RME materials and sharing good practices of differentiated learning based on Ethno-Realistic Mathematics Education. The activity procedure consists of observation and interviews with partner schools, training and mentoring in preparing learning designs, developing differentiated learning and implementing Ethno-RME. The results of this service were an increase of 59,6% in the pedagogical and professional competence of teachers in digital differentiated learning based on Ethno-Realistic Mathematics Education.

Understanding the factors that affect early childhood education teachers’ self-regulation skills

This study aims to examine the self-regulation skills of early childhood education teachers in terms of teacher-related factors (age, number of in-service trainings, professional experience) and factors related to the schools they work in (the location of the schools, the type of school, classroom sizes). Descriptive correlational design was preferred. The sample of the study consists of 239 early childhood education teachers. The convenience sampling method was used to reach the participants. Demographic Information Form and Teacher Self-Regulation Scale (TSRS) were used to collect the data. Confirmatory factor analyses were performed on the data, and model fit indices were examined The Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficients for the subscales of the scale ranged from .70 to .86. It is seen that the mean scores of early childhood education teachers in the performance goal orientation sub-dimension are at a medium level, while the mean scores of the other sub-dimensions are at a high level. Teacher age had a significant effect on emotional control and self-evaluation subscale, while professional experience, school type and school location had a significant effect on emotional control subscale. The number of in-service training courses was found to have a significant effect on goal setting and self-evaluation subscales. In addition, class size has a significant effect on goal setting and self-reaction subscales. In the light of the results obtained from the research, it can be suggested that incentives should be provided and experience sharing meetings should be organized to improve teachers' performance goal-oriented skills. Teachers' self-regulation and self-evaluation skills can be improved through in-service training. In addition, small class size and interactive teaching processes can play an important role in developing teachers' goal setting and self-evaluation skills.

Empowering MGMP of Central Maluku German Language in Developing AKM Literacy Instruments

The German Language MGMP (Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran) empowerment program in Central Maluku has a clear goal in the development of literacy AKM (Minimum Competency Assessment) instruments. The program begins with an introduction to what an AKM instrument is and its importance in measuring literacy skills in German. Participants were introduced to the framework and methods of AKM instrument development. This community service program aims to: (1) improve the skills of German language teachers in Central Maluku in developing literacy AKM instruments; (2) increase collaboration among teachers and build networks and cooperation to create active and connected German language teachers, and allied teachers, so that they can share experiences, resources, and best practices. The methods used are: (a) initial observation; (b) plan development; (c) online and offline face-to-face approach with teachers; (d) training; (e) evaluation. This activity is carried out face-to-face directly (offline) and indirectly (online). The results achieved from the Central Maluku German Language MGMP empowerment activities in developing literacy AKM instruments show that these efforts have succeeded in improving teacher competence in designing and implementing assessment instruments. The training and workshops not only strengthened teachers' understanding of AKM, but also enriched German teaching methods, encouraged collaboration between teachers and cognate teachers and resulted in the exchange of ideas and best practices in learning.

Peningkatan Literasi Teknologi Guru melalui Pelatihan E-Evaluation Berbasis HOTS di SMAS Muhammadiyah Kota Bima: Dampak pada Efektivitas Evaluasi Pembelajaran

The implementation of E-evaluation based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in private high schools remains limited. Observations from the Community Service Team revealed several issues, including the minimal use of E-evaluation in Muhammadiyah High Schools. Interviews with the principal and several teachers indicated that evaluations are still predominantly paper-based. In 4.0 era, it is essential for both teachers and students to adapt the technological advancements, especially in the evaluation process. E-evaluation serves as an effective tool for assessment at the high school level. The goals of this initiative are to: 1) enhance the technological skills of teachers at partner private schools, 2) improve teachers' understanding of E-evaluation, 3) develop HOTS-based E-evaluation products, and 4) increase teachers’ knowledge about crafting questions that promote Higher Order Thinking Skills. The methods used include presentations, demonstrations, and hands-on practice. The proposed steps for working with teachers are: 1) FDG, 2) training and mentoring, 3) monitoring, and 4) evaluation. The outcomes of this activity include: (1) 90% teacher participation, (2) 80% teachers grasping how to formulate HOTS-based questions, (3) 90% understanding the use of E-evaluation, (4) 90% of students gaining familiarity with courses in Human and Computer Interaction, Teaching Strategies, and Learning Evaluation, (5) the creation of an E-evaluation module/guidebook, (6) certificates for teachers who develop E-evaluation questions, (7) visual materials such as posters, (8) published articles in the Abdi Insani journal, (9) media coverage of activities in online platforms, and (10) activity videos uploaded to the STKIP Taman Siswa YouTube channel. Pelatihan Mendongeng Untuk Peningkatan Kualitas Pengajaran Bahasa Indonesia Bagi Guru SD di Kabupaten Soppeng

This activity aims to enhance the storytelling skills of Indonesian language teachers at the elementary school level in Soppeng through a structured approach that focuses on the real needs of educators. The program is implemented in four essential stages: first, a training needs analysis is conducted to identify the challenges and opportunities faced by teachers in implementing storytelling techniques; second, the development of relevant and engaging training materials tailored to the characteristics of students and the learning context in elementary schools; third, the execution of training that includes both theoretical and practical sessions, providing opportunities for teachers to practice and directly apply storytelling techniques; and lastly, an evaluation of the activities to assess the effectiveness of the training and to establish steps for future improvements. The results of the evaluations conducted during and after the training implementation indicate a significant increase in the understanding and storytelling skills of the teachers. Through this enhancement, the teachers are not only able to tell stories more engagingly but also integrate storytelling techniques into the Indonesian language learning process in the classroom. Improved storytelling skills are expected to stimulate students' reading interest and literacy, as well as create a more interactive and enjoyable learning experience. Consequently, this activity not only provides a positive impact on the professional development of teachers but also contributes to the growth of more innovative and effective Indonesian language education at the elementary school level. Further research is still needed to explore the long-term impacts of this training and how storytelling techniques can be further optimized within the educational context. From Diophantian Equations to Matrix Equations (Iv) - Diophantian Equations of Higher Degree

In the context of training and developing the skills of teachers, students and children to solve exercises and problems in Mathematics, in this paper we propose to continue the steps started in the first three papers with the same generic title and marked symbolically with (I), (II), respectively with (III) namely, the presentation of some ways of achieving a systemic vision on a certain notional mathematical content, a vision that motivates and mobilizes the activity of those who teach in the classroom, thus facilitating both the teaching and the assimilation of the concepts, concepts, and scientific theories addressed of the educational disciplines that present phenomena and processes from nature. Thus, we will continue in the same systemic approach, solving some Diophantine equations of higher degree, more precisely some generalizations of the Pythagorean equation and some quadratic Diophantine equations, in the set of natural numbers, then of the whole numbers, in order to "submerge" a such an equation in a ring of matrices and try to find as many matrix solutions as possible. The methods used, in this work, in solving the Diophantine equations, are diversified and different, for the most part, from those used in previous works of this type. It will result, then, that the methods of solving matrix equations related to these equations will follow the same direction. To facilitate the reader's understanding of the solutions of these matrix equations, in some cases we have also presented examples.

Authentic-Inquiry-Project about Nyale on Science Teachers Critical and Creative Thinking Skills

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of authentic inquiry project practicum on Nyale in improving critical and creative thinking skills of prospective science teacher students. The method used was experimental research method with one group pretest postest. The research subjects involved science education students of one of the universities in Sumba in the 2023/2024 academic year who contracted animal anatomy and physiology courses. The instrument used in this research was a critical and creative thinking skills test. The results of the Wilcoxon test showed that in experimental classes 1 and 2 there was an effect of practicum on the critical and creative thinking skills of prospective science teacher students as evidenced by the Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 < than 0.05. In addition, the N-gain test results showed an increase in critical thinking skills before and after practicum in experimental classes 1 and 2 with moderate categories. While the N-gain test of creative thinking skills showed an increase in the creative thinking skills of prospective science teachers in the moderate category for experimental class 1 and in the low category for experimental class 2. From the results obtained, it can be concluded that the authentic inquiry project practicum on Nyale is effective in improving the critical and creative thinking skills of prospective science teachers.

Pelatihan Pembuatan Video Animasi dan Kuis Interaktif untuk Meningkatkan Kompetensi Guru Adaptif di Desa Tonasa

Partners in this community service activity are the Kelompok Kerja Guru (KKG) of Tonasa Village and Thematic KKN students of the Educational Technology Study Program, State University of Makassar. The implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka needs to be supported by improving the adaptive skills of teachers in facilitating the learning process, especially in terms of utilizing appropriate technology in learning. Important skills needed include skills in developing learning media and implementing learning assessments. This interactive quiz and animated video training activity aims to improve the adaptive competence of teachers in Tonasa Village. More specifically, this training is expected to be able to: (1) produce an animated video using the Canva application; (2) produce an interactive quiz using the Wordwall application; and (3) integrate animated videos and interactive quizzes into the learning process in the classroom. The methods used in this activity are presentations, practices, and discussions. The training is carried out through three stages, namely the planning, implementation, and evaluation and reflection stages. The majority of teachers in Tonasa Village already have and often use the Canva application because they have an education account, but so far they have only used the application to make presentations. This training provides new insights while facilitating teachers to learn to use Canva as an application to create creative animated videos. The training on creating interactive quizzes using the Wordwall application was very well received by teachers in Tonasa Village, because the application offers more than 18 attractive templates for students. The results of students' work on the Wordwall application can be used by teachers as a form of formative assessment that supports the learning process. Training on creating interactive quizzes and animated videos can provide insight and skills so that teachers are able to answer the challenges of the times and students' needs for innovative, creative, and fun learning.

Using Theory and Technology to Build an Interprofessional Community of Human Trafficking Educators.

Human trafficking, a global health crisis, requires interprofessional responses. Skilled teachers are needed to train health care providers about human trafficking. To promote nonhierarchical interprofessional collaborative learning, we applied social cognitive and experiential learning theories within a dialectical constructivist program design to scaffold participants' knowledge and leveraged technology to build and sustain the program's community. WhatsApp and Flipgrid connected participants and faculty prior to the program. Participants' reflections on experiences were used to inform confidential and respectful information sharing. Live case presentations were interwoven with prerecorded didactics, Zoom break-out case analyses, and Q&A sessions with trafficking survivors. Participants used learning theories to cocreate and teach about labor and sex trafficking, disclosure, and the law. A reciprocal teaching activity facilitated participants' integration of new knowledge with authentic work responsibilities. Constructive peer feedback on the content, clarity, and engagement of their teaching reinforced participants' self-efficacy in expanding their education work in their home organizations. As of 2021, 156 physicians, nurses, social workers, advanced practice providers, psychologists, and public health workers, from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Trinidad/Tobago, have graduated from the program. Three-month postprogram surveys indicated lasting knowledge and skills changes in use of the Stop, Observe, Ask, Refer framework, teaching with adult learning principles, and creating organizational trafficking protocols. The strategic application of learning theory and technology has enabled us to foster a nonhierarchical community of interprofessional learners, cultivating a dynamic network of educators who continue to make international impacts on people with an experience of human trafficking.
