Analysis of the Reasons for the Problems of Music Teaching in Chinese Universities

The reasons for the problems of music teaching in Chinese colleges and universities are manifold. Firstly, the influence of education system and policy is an important factor. The current education examination system in China pays too much attention to scores and promotion rates, leading schools and teachers to pay more attention to exam-oriented education, and music education often becomes a neglected part. At the same time, the unbalanced distribution of educational resources also makes some colleges and universities with poor music teaching conditions and insufficient teachers to provide high-quality music education. Secondly, the backwardness of the concept of music education is also one of the causes of the problem. In addition, the imperfection of teacher training and selection mechanism is also one of the causes of the problem. At present, the training system for music teachers is not sound, and there is a lack of ways to train music teachers with comprehensive qualities. Meanwhile, the irrationality of the teacher evaluation mechanism also prevents some music teachers with professional skills from getting due recognition and incentives, which leads to the shortage of teachers.

An Entropy Measure for n-Cylindrical Fuzzy Neutrosophic Sets

n-Cylindrical fuzzy neutrosophic set (n-CyFNS) is a new variant of fuzzy neutrosophic sets. In this paper, our aim is to introduce an entropy measure for n-CyFNS. Here, we explained its properties along with examples. Two real life applications, one on better way of shopping and the second on teacher evaluation, based on this proposed entropy measure are also illustrated.

Exploring the Impact of Online Teaching Factors on International Students’ Control-Value Appraisals and Achievement Emotions in a Foreign Language Context

Drawing upon Pekrun’s (2006) control–value theory of achievement emotions, the present study explores the relations between online teaching factors (i.e., teachers’ information and communications technology (ICT) competence and provision of structure) and students’ control–value appraisals and achievement emotions (i.e., enjoyment, boredom, and anxiety) in an online foreign language learning context. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 12 international students and 6 teachers who were involved in a Chinese foreign language course delivered online during the coronavirus pandemic. Results from the thematic analysis showed that both students’ and teachers’ positive evaluations of teachers’ ICT competence and provision of structure were associated with students’ increased control beliefs and intrinsic value, but not necessarily with utility value. According to the participants, the two increased appraisals related to students’ greater enjoyment and reduced feelings of boredom and anxiety during the online language learning process. Findings are discussed in light of the role of online teaching factors in shaping students’ appraisals and emotional experiences in online environments, particularly during the coronavirus pandemic.

Application Big Data and Intelligent Optimization Algorithms on Teaching Evaluation Method for Higher Vocational Institutions

INTRODUCTION: The optimization of the teaching evaluation system, as an essential part of teaching reform in higher vocational colleges and universities, is conducive to the development of higher vocational colleges and universities' disciplines, making the existing teaching more standardized.OBJECTIVES: Aiming at the problems of inefficiency, incomplete index system, and low assessment accuracy in evaluation methods of higher vocational colleges and universities.METHODS: Proposes a teaching evaluation method for higher vocational colleges and universities with a big data mining algorithm and an intelligent optimization algorithm. Firstly, the teaching evaluation index system of higher vocational colleges and universities is downgraded and analyzed by using principal component analysis; then, the random forest hyperparameters are optimized by the grey wolf optimization algorithm, and the teaching evaluation model of higher vocational colleges and universities is constructed; finally, the validity and stability of the proposed method is verified by simulation experimental analysis.RESULTS: The results show that the proposed method improves the accuracy of the evaluation model.CONCLUSION: Solves the problems of low evaluation accuracy, incomplete system, and low efficiency of teaching evaluation methods in higher vocational colleges.

Design of Intelligent Political Test Paper Generation Method Based on Improved Intelligent Optimization Algorithm

With the development of artificial intelligence, computer intelligent grouping, as a research hotspot of political ideology examination paper proposition, can greatly shorten the time of generating examination papers, reduce the human cost, reduce the human factor, and improve the quality of political ideology teaching evaluation. Aiming at the problem that the current political ideology examination paper-grouping strategy method easily falls into the local optimum, a kind of intelligent paper-grouping method for political ideology examination based on the improved stock market trading optimisation algorithm is proposed. Firstly, by analyzing the traditional steps of political thought grouping, according to the index genus of the grouping problem and the condition constraints, we construct the grouping model of political thought test questions; then, combining the segmented real number coding method and the fitness function, we use the securities market trading optimization algorithm based on the Circle chaotic mapping initialization strategy and adaptive t-distribution variability strategy to solve the grouping problem of the political thought test. The experimental results show that the method can effectively find the optimal strategy of political thought exam grouping, and the test questions have higher knowledge point coverage, moderate difficulty, and more stable performance.

Research on the Innovative Path of Teaching Mode of Urban Management Major in Higher Education Continuing Education

At present, there are a series of challenges in the construction of urban management courses in continuing education in colleges and universities. The main reasons are the deviation of the orientation of universities and colleges, the lack of teachers’ understanding of the necessity of continuing education curriculum teaching, the need for innovation in teaching methods, the significant defects and deficiencies in the current teaching evaluation system, and the lack of initiative of continuing education students in curriculum learning. Therefore, this study starts with the adjustment of the positioning of continuing education courses in universities, gradually analyzes the necessity of deepening teachers' understanding of continuing education teaching, and proposes five dimensions of suggestions to promote the construction of a scientific and reasonable continuing education teaching system, establish a scientific and reasonable continuing education teaching evaluation mechanism, and enhance the learning initiative of continuing education students.

Development and Implementation of the Standard of “Double-Qualified” Teachers in Vocational Education in China

With the rapid development of manufacturing industry in China, a lot of special works with advanced technology and skills are demanded. This paper elaborates the background of developing “Dual-Qualified" teacher (DQ teacher) standards. From the three levels of national, local and school, the current situation of DQ teacher standards is systematically reviewed, and the implementation of existing standards and related government documents is also analyzed, which result in the conclusions that Chinese national standards (GB) for DQ teachers need to be formulated speedily, local Standards (DB) need to be formulated combined with local industrial economy, the operation specifications and evaluation indicators need to be optimized and the long-term tracking standards and assessment indicators should be contained in school-level standards (QB). The research results of this paper can be a reference to build a "double-qualified" teacher evaluation system and improve the quality of DQ teachers synergistically by our national, local governments and schools.

Exploration of the Practical Teaching Model for Artificial Intelligence Majors in Higher Vocational Colleges

To enhance the comprehensive quality and employability of students majoring in artificial intelligence technology applications, this paper proposes a practical teaching model reform that integrates industry-education integration and job-course integration. This proposal is based on an analysis of the current situation of practical teaching positioning, practical teaching system, and evaluation standards for artificial intelligence majors. This paper suggests cultivating high-quality and high standard artificial intelligence professionals who meet the current industry needs through conceptual innovation, reconstruction of practical course system, and reform of multi-dimensional practical teaching evaluation system.

PELATIHAN PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN INOVATIF BERBASIS BAHAN SEDERHANA: TRANSFORMASI EVALUASI PEMBELAJARAN UNTUK GURU SDN 20 PANGKALPINANG

This training aims to provide knowledge and skills to teachers at SDN20 Pangkalpinang in developing innovative learning media based on simple materials and producing effective learning evaluations in the current era of technology. The methods used in this training include needs identification, training implementation, evaluation of learning outcomes, and monitoring and evaluation. Through this training, it is hoped that teachers can improve students' critical skills in Elementary School through the Feedback-Based Learning Model Based on the Socrative Application in the P5 Program. Needs identification is carried out through needs analysis and evaluation of teachers' learning evaluation practices, as an important initial step in designing a training program that meets their needs. This needs analysis provides a better understanding of the challenges faced by teachers in using innovative learning media based on simple materials and effective learning evaluation practices. The results of this training show an increase inknowledge and skills of teachers in developing innovative learning media and conducting learning evaluations. The training evaluation indicates that teachers feel more confident inimplementing new learning strategies and using technology in learning. Further monitoring and evaluation are needed to ensure the sustainability of implementing new learning strategies and the use of technology in learning.

TEACHER PERCEPTIONS AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A DEMOCRATIC CLASSROOM ATMOSPHERE IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

The implementation of a democratic classroom atmosphere in elementary schools is still very rare because most of them are still authoritarian and focus on the teacher, even though a democratic classroom atmosphere is very important because it can foster students' enthusiasm for learning, increase student participation in learning, teach democratic values, and create a classroom culture that reflects democratic character. Therefore, this research is important to find out the strategies and ways that teachers can create a democratic classroom atmosphere by recognizing the diverse characteristics of their students. Part of the purpose of this research is to find out teachers' understanding of a democratic classroom atmosphere, efforts, forms of implementation, and evaluations made by teachers in implementing a democratic classroom atmosphere in elementary schools. This study used a sample of 30 students from grades V and VI of SD Muhammadiyah 1 Ketelan Surakarta. This research is a type of descriptive qualitative research by describing the data that has been obtained and analyzing the results of the research. Data were collected through classroom observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis of research results using transcription and classification. The results in this study show that teachers have successfully implemented a democratic classroom atmosphere. Teacher perceptions are in accordance with the concept of a democratic classroom atmosphere, teacher efforts and implementation are carried out by fostering active participation of students in discussion activities, providing equal access and facilities, appreciation, interpreting diversity, and giving students freedom to express and speak without fear of being punished. Teacher evaluation uses reflection and direct observation during learning.

Adaptation and Psychometric Evaluation of Homework Management, Teacher and Parent Involvement Scales for Middle Schoolers in Turkey

The aim of this research is to adapt the scales "Homework Management, Homework Effort, Teacher Homework Involvement, Teacher Feedback and Parental Homework Support" into Turkish. The research data were collected from 1,698 secondary school students in grades 5 to 8. The sample was divided into four subgroups and explanatory factor analysis was conducted on two groups and confirmatory factor analysis was conducted on two groups. Concurrent validity analyses were carried out on all students. Data were collected from students studying in 24 classes of six different secondary schools in the Maltepe, Kartal and Pendik regions of Istanbul. 49.12% of this group of students are girls and 50.88% are boys, and the mean age of the participants is 11.84 years. In addition to the scales adapted to the Turkish language, homework behavior (homework completion, time spent on homework, going to school without homework) and academic achievement were measured for concurrent validity. The results of the EFA and CFA analyses were similar to the original scales for all scales. These findings regarding the number of sub-dimensions, the placement of scale items within these sub-dimensions, and the concurrent validity scores indicate that the Turkish versions of the five scales are valid and reliable for assessing mathematics homework at the secondary school level.

디지털 시대의 초ㆍ중등 국악교육 지원을 위한 국립국악원 e-국악아카데미의 활성화 방안

This study aims to suggest a plan to revitalize the National Gugak Center's e-Gugak Academy to support gugak education in elementary, middle, and high schools, considering the changing direction of school education in the digital age. To this end, it examines the changing aspects of school education in the digital age through literature research and reviews the contents development status and usability in school education by analyzing the National Gugak Center's e-Gugak Academy site. As a result, it is found that school education in the digital era emphasizes the orientation of learner-centered customized education based on digital technology and the establishment of future teaching and learning methods and evaluation systems. In addition, the National Gugak Center's e-Gugak Academy is analyzed to have utility as basic data for gugak teaching materials based on the music curriculum, multimedia gugak teaching and learning materials, extraction of gugak instruction contents, and design of gugak teaching and learning methods. Based on these results, this study proposes a direction to improve the usability of the National Gugak Center's e-Gugak Academy in school education in the digital era as ‘strengthening the educational function of the e-Gugak Academy as a digital gugak education platform.’ And as a concrete way to reach this direction, this study focuses on two aspects: ‘customized gugak education support’ and ‘digital-based gugak class support’.

THE EFFECT OF INDEPENDENT CURRICULUM E-REPORT ASSESSMENT ON ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING AT SMPN SATAP 2 SANGALLA’

The objective of this study is to find out how the English teachers assess students’ achievement from e-Report of Independent Curriculum indicator and how e-Report effect on English teachers evaluation process and the effect of Independent Curriculum e-Report assessment on English Language Teaching. In this study the researcher used a qualitative approach method and collected the data by interview and observation. The data of interview were obtained from 2 English teachers. The researcher used technique of analyzing the data of Miles and Huberman data analysis which have three phases; (1) Data Reduction, (2) Data Display (3) Conclusion Drawing/Verification and for the trustworthiness of the data, the researcher used Methodological Triangulation. The findings of this research show that there is no specific method or assessment specifically used by English teachers when assessing English subjects. Basically, the independent curriculum are still assessed in accordance with the rules, namely there is a predetermined assessment rubric and the teacher also determines the points on each aspect to be assessed then checks grammar and vocabulary. Also, the findings of this study show that e-Report greatly facilitates teachers in the assessment process. The results of this study show that according to English teachers, the effect of assessment is for teachers’ and there is also for students. The effect for students is that after they know the results of the assessment is at least they try to improve what is still lacking and determined by the interests and talents of the students themselves. The effect for teachers is how they create an atmosphere and strategies in learning English.

Adaptation into Turkish of the Social-Emotional Assets and Resiliency Scale for Preschool

The aim in this study was to adapt the Parent and Teacher Form of the Social-Emotional Assets and Resiliency Scale for Preschool, developed by Ravitch (2013) to measure the resilience of preschool children, into Turkish and to test its validity and reliability. The validity and reliability of the Social-Emotional Assets and Resiliency Scale for Preschool were tested with 335 children observed by their parents and 276 children observed by their teachers, selected by random sampling from the population. Confirmatory factor analysis was performed with the software package LISREL v. 8.80. The analysis confirmed the three-factor structure of the scale. When the coherence indices of the scale were examined, it was seen that model data coherence was achieved. The internal consistency coefficient for the Self-Regulation/Social Competence subdimension was .86, for the Understanding/Expressing Emotions subdimension was .83, and for the Empathy/Responsibility subdimension was .83. The scale form consisting of three dimensions and 27 items was designed as a four-point Likert type. Based on the analyses performed, the Social-Emotional Assets and Resiliency Scale for Preschool is a valid and reliable measurement tool within the scope of parent and teacher evaluations of 60- to 72-month-old Turkish children with its three-dimensional and 27-item structure.

Method for Evaluating the Effectiveness of Physical Education Classes Utilizing offline and Online Mobile Edge Computing

Convergence is occurring between the two fast-evolving domains of computing at the edge and artificial intelligence. The synergy between these two technologies seems like it may lead to even better results. In physical education (PE), neither students nor instructors are tied to a single place, and neither the curriculum nor the classes repeat themselves. That's why it's hard for conventional colleges to evaluate their PE courses accurately. This article uses an optimization model created for edge computing to improve the conventional way of assessing the efficacy of PE programs utilized by most schools. The goal of physical education programs in traditional schools is to improve students' overall health and well-being. Consequently, the ratio of final exam scores is given less weight in this teacher evaluation model than the proportion of students who fulfill the requirements for a physical fitness assessment. The study aimed to develop measures for evaluating the efficacy of kinesiology programs in two-year institutions. This approach enables continuous self-assessment of learning and provides immediate responses to teacher effectiveness. One method that might be utilized to fine-tune the setup is edge computing. Based on the findings of the experiments conducted, it seems that the PES designed for this research has the potential to gather student feedback and enhance the scholarly character of PE teaching objectives. The PES for use in inclusive universities presented in this study is a prime example of this. The edge-computation optimization strategy created for this architecture has the ability to decrease the network's transference amount of the total system by 20 percent while simultaneously improving efficiency by 15%.

Granting access: Development of a formal course to demystify and promote predoctoral fellowship applications for graduate students.

Strong scientific writing skills are the foundation of a successful research career and require training and practice. Although these skills are critical for completing a PhD, most students receive little formal writing instruction prior to joining a graduate program. In 2015, the University of Iowa Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) addressed this issue by developing the scientific writing course Grant Writing Basics (GWB). Here we describe the structure of this course and its effectiveness. GWB is an interactive, workshop-based course that uses a National Institutes of Health (NIH) F30 predoctoral fellowship proposal as a platform for building writing expertise. GWB incorporates established pedagogical principles of adult learning, including flipped classrooms, peer teaching, and reiterative evaluation. Time spent in class centers on active student analysis of previously submitted fellowship applications, discussion of writing resources, active writing, facilitated small group discussion of critiques of student writing samples, revision, and a discussion with a panel of experienced study section members and a student who completed a fellowship submission. Outcomes of GWB include a substantial increase in the number of applications submitted and fellowships awarded. Rigorous evaluation provides evidence that learning objectives were met and that students gained confidence in both their scientific writing skills and their ability to give constructive feedback. Our findings show that investment in formal training in written scientific communication provides a foundation for good writing habits, and the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in this vital aspect of a scientific research career. Furthermore, they highlight that evaluation is valuable in guiding course evolution. Strategies embedded in GWB can be adapted for use in any graduate program to advance scientific writing skills among its trainees.

Evaluation and Improvement Strategies of Teachers’ Information Technology Teaching Ability Based on Data Mining

The rapid evolution of emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data analytics, and next-generation artificial intelligence has propelled education through the ranks to new heights. To promote the development of digital education in an all-round way and build a learning country under the strategic action of digital education in China, it is necessary to objectively and accurately evaluate the information-based teaching ability of college teachers. This paper takes the evaluation of teachers’ information-based teaching ability and the construction of promotion strategies as the research object, introduces the composition of teachers’ information-based teaching ability in detail, designs the evaluation index system of teachers’ information-based teaching ability from the perspective of educational digital strategic action, and constructs the promotion strategies of teachers’ information-based teaching ability based on the case study of teaching ability evaluation. The constructed evaluation index of teachers’ informatization teaching ability has strong maneuverability and the evaluation results are objective and accurate, which can be used as an evaluation model in the construction of teachers’ informatization teaching ability in colleges and universities and provide practical guidance for improving teachers’ informatization teaching ability in colleges and universities.
