Symmetry criteria for Hochschild extensions

We give two sufficient and necessary conditions for the Hochschild extension of a finite-dimensional algebra by its dual bimodule and a Hochschild 2-cocycle to be a symmetric algebra.

On k-para-Kähler Lie algebras, a subclass of k-symplectic Lie algebras

k-Para-Kähler Lie algebras are a generalization of para-Kähler Lie algebras (k = 1) and constitute a subclass of k-symplectic Lie algebras. In this paper, we show that the characterization of para-Kähler Lie algebras as left symmetric bialgebras can be generalized to k-para-Kähler Lie algebras leading to the introduction of two new structures which are different but both generalize the notion of left symmetric algebra. This permits also the introduction of generalized S-matrices. We determine then all the k-symplectic Lie algebras of dimension and all the six dimensional 2-para-Kähler Lie algebras.

CFT Correlators for Cardy Bulk Fields via String-Net Models

We show that string-net models provide a novel geometric method to construct invariants of mapping class group actions. Concretely, we consider string-net models for a modular tensor category C. We show that the datum of a specific commutative symmetric Frobenius algebra in the Drinfeld center Z(C) gives rise to invariant string-nets. The Frobenius algebra has the interpretation of the algebra of bulk fields of the conformal field theory in the Cardy case.

PERIODIC AUTOMORPHISMS, COMPATIBLE POISSON BRACKETS, AND GAUDIN SUBALGEBRAS

Let \U0001d52e be a finite-dimensional Lie algebra. The symmetric algebra (\U0001d52e) is equipped with the standard Lie–Poisson bracket. In this paper, we elaborate on a surprising observation that one naturally associates the second compatible Poisson bracket on (\U0001d52e) to any finite order automorphism ϑ of \U0001d52e. We study related Poisson-commutative subalgebras (\U0001d52e; ϑ) of \U0001d4ae(\U0001d52e) and associated Lie algebra contractions of \U0001d52e. To obtain substantial results, we have to assume that \U0001d52e = \U0001d524 is semisimple. Then we can use Vinberg’s theory of ϑ-groups and the machinery of Invariant Theory.If \U0001d524 = \U0001d525⊕⋯⊕\U0001d525 (sum of k copies), where \U0001d525 is simple, and ϑ is the cyclic permutation, then we prove that the corresponding Poisson-commutative subalgebra (\U0001d52e; ϑ) is polynomial and maximal. Furthermore, we quantise this (\U0001d524; ϑ) using a Gaudin subalgebra in the enveloping algebra \U0001d4b0(\U0001d524).

On support τ-tilting modules over blocks covering cyclic blocks

Support τ-tilting modules are in bijection with two-term tilting complexes for any finite-dimensional symmetric algebra. This fact motivates us to classify support τ-tilting modules over blocks of finite groups. We classify support τ-tilting modules over particular blocks of finite groups using modular representation theoretical approaches including Clifford theory and Green's indecomposability theorem.

Foundations of Frobenius Heisenberg categories

We describe bases for the morphism spaces of the Frobenius Heisenberg categories associated to a symmetric graded Frobenius algebra, proving several open conjectures. Our proof uses a categorical comultiplication and generalized cyclotomic quotients of the category. We use our basis theorem to prove that the Grothendieck ring of the Karoubi envelope of the Frobenius Heisenberg category recovers the lattice Heisenberg algebra associated to the Frobenius algebra.

CONSTRUCTIVE NONCOMMMUTATIVE INVARIANT THEORY

The problem of finding generators of the subalgebra of invariants under the action of a group of automorphisms of a finite-dimensional Lie algebra on its universal enveloping algebra is reduced to finding homogeneous generators of the same group acting on the symmetric tensor algebra of the Lie algebra. This process is applied to prove a constructive Hilbert–Nagata Theorem (including degree bounds) for the algebra of invariants in a Lie nilpotent relatively free associative algebra endowed with an action induced by a representation of a reductive group.

A quiver variety approach to root multiplicities

We present combinatorial upper bounds on dimensions of certain imaginary root spaces for symmetric Kac-Moody algebras. These come from the realization of the corresponding infinity-crystal using quiver varieties. The framework is general, but we only work out specifics in rank two. In that case we give explicit bounds. These turn out to be quite accurate, and in many cases exact, even for some fairly large roots.

ON THE SPLITTING PRINCIPLE FOR COHOMOLOGICAL INVARIANTS OF REFLECTION GROUPS

Let k0 be a field of characteristic not two, (V, b) a finite-dimensional regular bilinear space over k0, and W a subgroup of the orthogonal group of (V, b) with the property that the subring of W-invariants of the symmetric algebra of V is a polynomial algebra over k0. We prove that Serre’s splitting principle holds for cohomological invariants of W with values in Rost’s cycle modules.

Two Tilts of Higher Spherical Algebras

We introduce and study two exotic families of finite-dimensional algebras over an algebraically closed field. We prove that every such an algebra is derived equivalent to a higher spherical algebra studied by Erdmann and Skowroński (Arch. Math. 114, 25–39, 2020), and hence that it is a tame symmetric periodic algebra of period 4. This together with the results of Erdmann and Skowroński (Algebr. Represent. Theor. 22, 387–406, 2019; Arch. Math. 114, 25–39, 2020) shows that every trivial extension algebra of a tubular algebra of type (2,2,2,2) admits a family of periodic symmetric higher deformations which are tame of non-polynomial growth and have the same Gabriel quiver, answering the question recently raised by Skowroński.

Noncommutative differential calculus on (co)homology of hom-associative algebras

A hom-associative algebra is an algebra whose associativity is twisted by an algebra homomorphism. It was previously shown by the author that the Hochschild cohomology of a hom-associative algebra A carries a Gerstenhaber structure. In this short paper, we show that this Gerstenhaber structure together with certain operations on the Hochschild homology of A makes a noncommutative differential calculus. As an application, we obtain a Batalin-Vilkovisky algebra structure on the Hochschild cohomology of a regular unital symmetric hom-associative algebra.

The center of the wreath product of symmetric group algebras

We consider the wreath product of two symmetric groups as a group of blocks permutations and we study its conjugacy classes. We give a polynomiality property for the structure coefficients of the center of the wreath product of symmetric group algebras. This allows us to recover an old result of Farahat and Higman about the polynomiality of the structure coefficients of the center of the symmetric group algebra and to generalize our recent result about the polynomiality property of the structure coefficients of the center of the hyperoctahedral group algebra.

Dieudonné theory via cohomology of classifying stacks

Abstract We prove that if G is a finite flat group scheme of p-power rank over a perfect field of characteristic p, then the second crystalline cohomology of its classifying stack $H^2_{\text {crys}}(BG)$ recovers the Dieudonné module of G. We also provide a calculation of the crystalline cohomology of the classifying stack of an abelian variety. We use this to prove that the crystalline cohomology of the classifying stack of a p-divisible group is a symmetric algebra (in degree $2$ ) on its Dieudonné module. We also prove mixed-characteristic analogues of some of these results using prismatic cohomology.

Weakly symmetric biserial algebras

We introduce the class of generalized biserial quiver algebras and prove that they provide a complete classification of all weakly symmetric biserial algebras over an algebraically closed field.

The space of invariant bilinear forms of the polarization algebra of a polynomial endomorphism: An approach to the problem of Albert

In this article we explore an approach to the problem of Albert described by U. Umirbaev. We characterize the space of invariant bilinear forms of the polarization algebra of a polynomial endomorphism F:Kn→Kn, where K is a field with characteristic different from two. We obtain some conjectures expressed in the language of polynomial endomorphisms, which are equivalent to the existence of invariant bilinear forms in a finite-dimensional commutative algebra. We give a characterization of the space of invariant bilinear forms in terms of differential forms in the ring K[x1,…,xn]. We also introduce a new kind of algebra, we call them totally symmetric algebras, and we establish the relationship between these algebras and the existence of invariant bilinear forms in any commutative algebra.

Lovász–Saks–Schrijver ideals and parity binomial edge ideals of graphs

Let G be a simple graph on n vertices. Let LG and IG denote the Lovász–Saks–Schrijver(LSS) ideal and parity binomial edge ideal of G in the polynomial ring S=K[x1,…,xn,y1,…,yn] respectively. We classify graphs whose LSS ideals and parity binomial edge ideals are complete intersections. We also classify graphs whose LSS ideals and parity binomial edge ideals are almost complete intersections, and we prove that their Rees algebra is Cohen–Macaulay. We compute the second graded Betti number and obtain a minimal presentation of LSS ideals of trees and odd unicyclic graphs. We also obtain an explicit description of the defining ideal of the symmetric algebra of LSS ideals of trees and odd unicyclic graphs.

Gröbner–Shirshov bases for symmetric brace algebras

In this paper, we develop Gröbner–Shirshov basis theory for symmetric brace algebras. As applications, firstly, we give an alternative proof that the category of symmetric brace algebras is isomorphic to the category of pre-Lie algebras, secondly, we prove that each pre-Lie algebra can be embedded into a simple pre-Lie algebra, and finally, we present a new linear basis for the universal pre-Lie algebra of a Lie algebra.

The associated graded algebras of Brauer graph algebras I: finite representation type

It is well known that Brauer graph algebras coincide with symmetric special biserial algebras and there has been a lot of work on Brauer graph algebras and their representation theory. Given a Brauer graph algebra A associated with a Brauer graph G, we denote by gr(A) the graded algebra associated with the radical filtration of A. We give a criterion for gr(A) to be representation-finite in terms of the graded degrees of vertices in G. Moreover, when gr(A) is representation-finite, we give the precise relationship between the Auslander–Reiten quiver of A and the Auslander–Reiten quiver of gr(A).

Poisson algebras and symmetric Leibniz bialgebra structures on oscillator Lie algebras

Oscillator Lie algebras are the only non commutative solvable Lie algebras which carry a bi-invariant Lorentzian metric. In this paper, we determine all the Poisson structures, and in particular, all symmetric Leibniz algebra structures whose underlying Lie algebra is an oscillator Lie algebra. We give also all the symmetric Leibniz bialgebra structures whose underlying Lie bialgebra structure is a Lie bialgebra structure on an oscillator Lie algebra. We derive some geometric consequences on oscillator Lie groups.

The topological symmetric orbifold

We analyze topological orbifold conformal field theories on the symmetric product of a complex surface M. By exploiting the mathematics literature we show that a canonical quotient of the operator ring has structure constants given by Hurwitz numbers. This proves a conjecture in the physics literature on extremal correlators. Moreover, it allows to leverage results on the combinatorics of the symmetric group to compute more structure constants explicitly. We recall that the full orbifold chiral ring is given by a symmetric orbifold Frobenius algebra. This construction enables the computation of topological genus zero and genus one correlators, and to prove the vanishing of higher genus contributions. The efficient description of all topological correlators sets the stage for a proof of a topological AdS/CFT correspondence. Indeed, we propose a concrete mathematical incarnation of the proof, relating Gromow-Witten theory in the bulk to the cohomology of the Hilbert scheme on the boundary.
