Technological developments are now growing rapidly in various fields, including the implementation of technology in everyday life, including the world of business and organizations. Digital technology includes information, computing, communications and connectivity, becoming a key factor for achieving sustainable competitive advantage in various industries. The use of technology also provides benefits such as sales monitoring, business recommendations and better decision making. Decision Support System (DSS) is a system that is deliberately created to assist certain parties in making decisions with quality and objective results, in an effective and efficient way of working, and does not depend solely on subjective decisions or based on wrong parameters. . The Weight Product (WP) method is one of the solution methods in Decision Support Systems. Choosing the best product is an important decision in various aspects of life, from purchasing consumer goods to choosing technology in business. UD. Anugrah Jaya Tani is one of the kiosks in Sayur Mahincat village, Kec. Barumun Selatan, Padang Lawas Regency, which operates in the agricultural sector and sells various types of pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers. Pesticides are chemical substances and other materials used to control various pests. For farmers, the types of pests are mites, pest plants, plant diseases caused by fungi (fungi), bacteria and viruses, nematodes (worms that damage roots), snails, mice, birds and other animals that are considered detrimental. This research aims to determine pesticides that are suitable for the type of pest on plants. The method used is a Decision Support System (DDS), namely Weight Product (WP). The data used is 10 data with 6 predetermined criteria. The results of this research are based on the final value obtained from each alternative, the pesticide with the highest value is considered the best alternative and the result is that Alternative A5 is the best pesticide with the highest value of 0.1396, namely Sidabas. This means that the pesticide is considered to best meet the specified criteria with the weight given.

The Role of Sustainable Competitive Advantage on Sustainable Finance and Bank Profitability

This study examines the moderating effect of sustainable competitive advantage on the relationship between sustainable finance and bank profitability of Indonesian conventional commercial banks from 2019 to 2022. The study has found that sustainable finance has a positive impact on bank profitability (ROA and ROE). However, the impact of sustainable competitive advantage on bank profitability was only positive with ROA, suggesting that ROA is a more effective indicator of bank profitability for this study. Furthermore, the study indicates that the impact of sustainable finance on bank profitability (both ROA and ROE) is diminished by the delay in the implementation of sustainability reporting during the COVID-19 reporting period. The results of this study are likely to encourage banks to increase their sustainable finance and focus on improving the quality of sustainability reporting in order to gain a competitive advantage in the current banking industry landscape in Indonesia.

Internal Auditors’ Characteristics, Internal Audit Effectiveness, and Enterprise Risk Management in Jordan: A Resource-Based View

Jordanian public-listed companies (PLCs) face significant internal, external pressures and risks that hinder their performance and survival in today’s high-risk business environment. The relatively recent implementation of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) adds to its ineffectiveness, further complicating the situation. This study aims to examine the impact of internal auditors' characteristics on ERM effectiveness and internal audit effectiveness (IAE) from the Resource-Based View (RBV) perspective. Additionally, it explores the relationship between IAE and ERM effectiveness, as well as the mediating role of IAE. A quantitative cross-sectional research design was utilised, collecting data from Jordanian PLCs via questionnaires, with 119 final responses analysed using SPSS and SmartPLS softwares. The findings indicate that internal auditors' characteristics positively impact both ERM effectiveness and IAE. Furthermore, IAE positively impacts ERM effectiveness and serves as a partial mediator in this relationship. These results align with the RBV, highlighting that internal auditors' characteristics and IAE as valuable internal resources that foster sustainable competitive advantage. Practical implications include raising companies' awareness of the critical importance of internal auditors' characteristics and IAE, thereby offering a cost-effective solution to enhance ERM effectiveness.

Методичний підхід до оцінювання соціальної відповідальності підприємства в умовах інноваційності бізнесу

The article is devoted to developing a methodological approach to assessing the social responsibility of an enterprise in the context of business innovation. It is noted that corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a dynamic process of innovation that transforms social needs into new business opportunities. CSR can be considered a set of states that reflect the constant renewal and improvement of an enterprise’s social practices. In the context of innovative business, social responsibility acts as a strategic direction of development that allows an enterprise to achieve economic goals and solve urgent social problems that contribute to creating a sustainable competitive advantage through satisfying social needs. It is proved that CSR acts as an evolutionary characteristic of a business entity that requires systematic monitoring to determine the adequacy of its manifestations and is integrated into the system of indicators of sustainable development of enterprises, covering economic, environmental, and social aspects of the functioning of the enterprise, and is reflected in the results of regular dialogue with external stakeholders. As an integral part of strategic management, SVP is subject to constant updating and adaptation to changes in the external environment, and the procedure for determining its level is proposed to be carried out according to the appropriate algorithm, which allows making final decisions on a set of measures to increase the level of SVP. An object-subject approach to the mechanism for forming information support for social responsibility of transport enterprises in the context of business innovation is substantiated, which allows considering this approach as the interaction of various elements of the system, determining the main subjects and their functions, identifying objects of information support, determining mechanisms for interaction between subjects and objects, ensuring effective communication between all stakeholders on issues of social responsibility and using the information obtained to make informed decisions on the further development of social responsibility of enterprises. Conclusions. The proposed methodological approach to assessing the social responsibility of enterprises is an integral part of modern business (especially in the context of its innovativeness), as it allows for an objective assessment of the social responsibility of enterprises regardless of their size, creates a basis for comparison, which helps enterprises identify their strengths and weaknesses in the social sphere, develop effective strategies for ensuring a high level of competitiveness, which contributes to the sustainable development of enterprises. Management of Sports and Recreation Centers in Karanganyar District Through Knowledge Based Worker-Based Sports Human Resources Development

This research aims to explore innovation in management through the development of knowledge-based sports human resources in the sports and recreation center of Karanganyar Regency. The main focus of this study is on the development of knowledge-based sports human resources (knowledge-based workers). In the corporate context, the development of sports human resources should involve several important aspects, including participation in training, mandatory learning, training to improve skills relevant to various modern positions, as well as providing a broad career path and competency development. In addition, performance and competency assessment as well as effective communication in providing feedback are also an integral part of this process. Knowledge-based development is considered a fundamental requirement for achieving sustainable competitive advantage. This underlines the important role of professional intellect in creating value and profits for sports and recreation centers to face business competition. The concept of professional intellect is implemented at four levels, namely cognitive knowledge (professional intellect), skill improvement (advanced skills), system understanding (system understanding), and self-motivated creativity (self-motivated creativity)

Efforts to achieve sustainable competitive advantage for SMEs: The strategic entrepreneur model

The aim of this research is to examine and analyze the dimensions of strategic entrepreneurship that are able to realize long-term sustainable competitive advantage in small and medium businesses. This research methodology and sampling technique use a purposive sampling method, with a total of 150 respondents from Batik Small and Medium Enterprises industry leaders in Central Java Province, Indonesia. Then the analysis technique uses Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS software. Empirical data supports the six hypotheses proposed in this study. Specifically, the first hypothesis is that entrepreneurial culture is influenced by entrepreneurial learning. The second hypothesis posits that entrepreneurial culture influences entrepreneurial capacity. The third entrepreneurial learning hypothesis is influencing entrepreneurial capacity. The four entrepreneurial capacities are influencing sustainable competitive advantage. The fifth hypothesis is that entrepreneurial learning influences a sustainable competitive advantage. The sixth hypothesis is that entrepreneurial culture influences a sustainable competitive advantage. The practical implication for realizing sustainable competitive advantage for batik Small and Medium Enterprises in Central Java Province, Indonesia, is to improve and develop entrepreneurial learning built by indicators 1). Experience 2). Cognitive; 3). Network; 4). Social relationships. Entrepreneurial learning and entrepreneurial capacity can mediate entrepreneurial culture towards sustainable competitive advantage. The strategic entrepreneurship development model begins with the establishment and enhancement of an entrepreneurial culture, which encompasses the following elements: 1). Enthusiasm 2). Stakeholder alignment 3). Learning and Development Support. 4). Change is driven by business opportunities.

Perceptions of politics and knowledge sharing: Moderating role of Islamic work ethic in the Islamic banking industry of Pakistan

Knowledge is the most critical source for sustainable competitive advantage in an organization. Organizations must therefore focus on creating a culture for Knowledge Sharing. However, politics or political work environment is an inevitable outcome where people interact and communicate on a daily basis. Politics discourage Knowledge Sharing and its related efforts in the organization. However, Islamic Work Ethic can remove negativity and strengthen Knowledge Sharing behaviors in the organization. This research focused on the moderating role of Islamic Work Ethic between Perceptions of Politics and Knowledge Sharing behaviors.The data was gathered using a structured questionnaire from the Banking Industry in Karachi, Pakistan using unrestricted non-probability convenience sampling technique. Hypotheses was tested using Structural Equation Modelling in SMART-PLS software. It was found that Perceptions of Politics reduces Knowledge Sharing Behaviors while Islamic Work Ethic Increase Knowledge Sharing Behaviors. Islamic Work Ethic moderates the relationship between Perceptions of Politics and Knowledge Sharing Behaviors. Employees religious orientations affect their work-related outcomes and behaviors. Islamic Banks have been mostly neglected as they have recently emerged as an important part of the economy therefore this study contributes to the literature by collaborating Islamic Work Ethic, Perceptions of Politics and Knowledge Sharing.

HRM Strategies and Sustainable Competitive Advantage: Assessing Strategic Agility Mediating Impact

The study thoroughly investigates unexplored impact of HRM strategies in less developed countries. It delves into pivotal strategic agility role as mediator among HRM strategies & sustainable competitive advantage. The study aims to establish basic knowledge and emphasize connections linking HRM strategies and SCA, with strategic agility playing mediating role. The information was collected from various internet platforms and analyzed using CB-SEM to assess proposed model. The results found that strategic agility is crucial mediating impact in enhancing HRM strategies influence on competitive advantage. The paper ends by highlighting theoretical and practical contributions, research limitations, and recommendations for future studies.

Determinants of Sustainable Rural Community-based Value Chains

Failure to understand business from a value chain perspective was identified in the National Entrepreneurship Policy 2030 as one of the challenges that need to be addressed for an entrepreneur's sustainability. Value chains refer to the activities that add value at each stage in developing, producing, and delivering quality products to customers. This paper aims to identify the determinants of effective and sustainable factors that underpin rural community-based value chains in their business conduct. In achieving these objectives, the methodology includes a case study on the Warisan Dapur Lenggong Business Project in Lenggong, Malaysia, library searches, and an analysis of previous literature reviews on value chains and community-based small businesses. The finding shows that factors contributing to the success of rural entrepreneurs in value chains can be categorised into internal and external patterns. Internal individual factors include entrepreneurial culture, skills and knowledge, adaptability, continuous improvement and Innovation, networking and collaboration. In contrast, internal community factors include community, leadership, local association and staff support, value proposition and differentiation, financial management, community resilience and perseverance. In comparison, external factors include access to market information, technology and infrastructural limitations, political influence and government policy. This paper also hopes to strengthen the body of knowledge on how effective value chains help entrepreneurs achieve sustainable competitive advantage as one of the agenda for 2030 Sustainable Development and for making Malaysia a higher-income and civilised nation.

Does integrated talent management foster competitive advantage in higher education institutions?

Orientation: Today, industries and academic institutions across different continents, including those in South Africa, compete for the same talent, which presents the most valuable asset of an organisation. The surge in talent rivalry means that employers need to adopt strategies to distinguish themselves from their rivals.Research purpose: The aim of this study was to develop a conceptual model to better understand how talent management (TM) creates value for higher education institutions.Motivation for the study: Talent management research is primarily built around an exclusive approach to TM, yet how it works in practice and is implemented, conceived and developed in higher education, remains unclear. Hence, this study is needed to understand how integrated TM fosters competitive advantage in higher education institutions.Research approach/design and method: A quantitative research method was, by means of a questionnaire. Primary data were collected from 265 academics across three universities in South Africa. The data were analysed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences and Analysis of Moment Structures.Main findings: The results revealed that integrated TM practices (i.e. talent attraction, development and retention) positively contributed to sustainable competitive advantage of higher education institutions.Practical/managerial implications: The study provides a better understanding of the role of integrated TM in improving competitive advantage. Also, the study will help shape the policy-making process on TM in higher education institutions.Contribution/value-add: This study adds value to TM literature by designing a conceptual model for higher education institutions to achieve sustainable competitive advantage.

ANALYZING COMPANY’S COMPETITIVENESS: DEFINITIONS AND INFLUENCING FACTORS

The article is devoted to the study of the competitiveness of the enterprise as an economic concept and an object of assessment. Issues that remain unresolved, despite the significant level of development of this issue, are considered. In particular, the problems of the integration of digital technologies as one of the main factors of competitiveness are highlighted, the importance of the adaptability of cross-industry innovations is shown, and the relationship between the concepts of sustainable development and the competitiveness of the enterprise is explained. It was determined that today enterprises, forming competitive advantages, face new challenges in the context of globalization. Much of the existing research focuses on static models of competitiveness, while prospective studies should pay more attention to how corporations can maintain competitiveness in a dynamic global marketplace. The article identifies the main factors in the formation of sustainable competitive advantages of enterprises in the conditions of the digital economy and the intensive spread of technologies. The authors proposed a schematic visualization of the multifaceted meaningful interrelationship of competitiveness and the main business competencies of innovative enterprises. Based on the analysis of scientific sources and previous empirical studies of the authors, the list of competitiveness factors is summarized, which is based on a synthetic approach and includes external, internal, macroeconomic, environmental, social, technological, innovative and other factors. It is emphasized that one of the key levers of the mechanism of formation of sustainable competitive advantages of enterprises in modern conditions of uncertainty is market adaptability, which is subject to economic analysis and forecasting. Thus, the authors note that innovation potential has become a key element for maintaining competitiveness, especially in technology-driven industries, while corporate social responsibility and sustainable development are increasingly seen as integral components of long-term competitiveness; moreover, with the deepening of globalization, companies must possess the ability to adapt to the conditions of international markets in order to remain competitive in the long term. The priority direction of further research is the development of a model for evaluating the market adaptability of innovatively active enterprises operating in growing markets.

Revolutionizing Workflows: The Role of Efficiency in Organizational Success

This research investigates the impact of workflow optimization and resource management on organizational success at PT. Citra Shipyard, with a particular focus on the mediating role of operational efficiency. Using a quantitative research design and random sampling of 80 employees, data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed with Smart PLS (Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling). The study found that both workflow optimization and resource management significantly influence operational efficiency, which, in turn, has a strong effect on organizational success. Specifically, workflow optimization and resource management were shown to enhance operational efficiency, thereby driving greater organizational success. These results emphasize the importance of integrating effective workflow and resource management strategies to improve operational outcomes and achieve sustained competitive advantage in the shipbuilding industry. This research provides valuable insights for PT. Citra Shipyard to refine its operational practices and enhance overall performance.

Creating a fuzzy DEMATEL-ISM-MICMAC -fuzzy BWM model for the organization's sustainable competitive advantage, incorporating green marketing, social responsibility, brand equity and green brand image

This study aimed to create a model that would enable the achievement of a sustainable competitive advantage. The research approach is combining four multi-criteria decision-making tools including Fuzzy DEMATEL, ISM, MICMAC Analysis and Fuzzy BWM to evaluate factors in four key areas included corporate social responsibility, green marketing, brand image, and brand equity in Unilever Corporation. These factors collectively contribute to enhancing competitiveness. The process begins with the fuzzy DEMATEL method, which helps to uncover the cause-and-effect relationships among various components. Following this, the ISM approach is utilized to construct a hierarchical model that clarifies how these components influence and depend on one another. This step is crucial for gaining insights into their collective impact on Unilever's sustainability goals. Next, MICMAC analysis categorizes these factors based on their levels of influence and dependence, pinpointing the most critical elements that drive competitive advantage. Finally, the fuzzy BWM technique is applied to prioritize these key factors, leading to the aimed at bolstering Unilever's long-term competitiveness by fostering a green and sustainable brand image that resonates with consumer values. The key results reveal that the highest priority was given to achieving sustainable development goals. The criterion "Promotion of customer awareness" secured the second position Finally, ensuring the quality of products and services was also recognized as a third key focus area. Identifying these key factors and their interrelationships will provides decision-makers and stakeholders in Unilever company with actionable insights for precise planning and strategic prioritization.

The Impact of Intellectual Capital on Enterprise Performance in Saudi Arabia: Literature Review of Empirical Research

Physical assets such as buildings, plants, and so on, are important factors in the production era, but their importance has decreased with increased the importance of intangible assets in the knowledge era. In the knowledge-based economy, intellectual capital (IC) is one of the most important assets in an enterprise for achieving sustainable competitive advantages. As a result, research on the correlation between IC and enterprise performance (EP) and its role in achieving competitive advantage has become one of the most controversial topics in accounting globally. The findings of the empirical research have been inconsistent; there is no consensus on the effect of IC on the enterprise's performance due to the different definitions and methods of measuring IC used among researchers. The paper focuses on reviewing empirical research about the effect of IC on EP in Saudi Arabia, aiming at a presentation of recent developments and a discussion of the direction for future research. This paper is the first study to review empirical research on IC and EP in the Saudi context.

The main issue in Web-based technologies is on how to differentiate and create many fresh opportunities. Internet portals represent an extension of knowledge sharing (KS) for users. In a contemporary knowledge-intensive economy, knowledge is considered a fundamental strategic resource for individuals and a source of sustainable competitive advantage. By sharing existing knowledge from a web based domain to a target such as retention, individuals can learn about a company’s products/services. The findings of this study provide useful information and could help organizations managers motivate their employees to engage in KS practices by Web-based technologies. The main finding of this study is that content quality, service quality, systems quality have a positive effect on KS among the employees of organization.

Artificial intelligence and marketing innovation: The mediating role of organizational culture

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the e-commerce landscape, prompting businesses to adopt innovative marketing strategies. This study investigates the relationship between AI applications and marketing innovation in Egyptian e-commerce retailers, with a focus on the mediating role of organizational culture. The research employed a quantitative approach, utilizing a survey to gather data from 260 Egyptian e-retail store owners, managers, and marketers. The findings reveal a significant positive correlation between AI applications and marketing innovation, with organizational culture playing a crucial mediating role. The correlation coefficient (R) between AI and organizational culture was found to be 0.76, indicating that AI explains 57% of the variance in organizational culture. Similarly, the correlation coefficient (R) between AI and marketing innovation was 0.70, suggesting that AI explains 49% of the variance in marketing innovation. Path analysis further demonstrated a significant indirect effect of AI on marketing innovation through organizational culture. The study concludes that the integration of AI into marketing strategies can substantially enhance innovation, particularly when complemented by a supportive organizational culture. It underscores the importance for e-commerce retailers to invest in AI technologies and cultivate a culture that embraces technological advancements to drive marketing innovation and achieve sustainable competitive advantage. ABSTRACT Given that marketing managers are taught the significance of predicting and responding to competitors’ actions, comparing their firms’ strategies to those of competitors, and developing sustainable competitive advantages over competitors, the task of identifying competitors emerges as pivotal for effective marketing strategy development. However, a notable challenge lies in the diverse interpretations of what defines a competitor among strategists. This article explicates the nature of competitors by drawing on resource-advantage theory and its focus on market segments. Specifically, it focuses on market segmentation strategy as a mechanism to examine what constitutes a ‘competitor’. In addition, it outlines an approach that can be used to identify competitors.

Enhancing competitive advantage through digital innovation and organisational culture in the logistics sector

Introduction: The modern logistics sector is rapidly changing under the influence of digital technologies. The use of innovative digital technologies can significantly increase efficiency, reduce costs and improve customer service. Objectives: Formation of a comprehensive theoretical approach to the impact of innovation transfer and organizational culture on improving logistics processes and achieving sustainable competitive advantages in the context of digital transformation. Methods: Empirical research methods include analysis and synthesis, SWOT analysis, grouping method, abstraction, and generalisation. Results: The study analyses the impact of digital transformation on logistics processes, examines the main trends and technologies that promote the digital transformation of logistics chains, assesses the impact on the efficiency and productivity of logistics processes, determines the significance of innovation in developing logistics strategies and enhancing companies' competitiveness, and outlines the factors that contribute to innovative activity in logistics companies. The influence of technological changes on digital competitiveness is substantiated based on the IMD World Digital Competitiveness Ranking indicators for 2023. Countries worldwide are grouped according to their level of digital competitiveness, the impact of education, the implementation of innovations, and their readiness for transformational changes. The impact of innovation transfer on the competitive advantages of the logistics company Amazon is studied. Critical aspects of the organisational culture of digital transformation in modern conditions are outlined. A SWOT analysis of digital transformation in the logistics business is presented using the example of "Nova Poshta." Opportunities and threats to logistics entrepreneurship regarding competitive advantages in digital transformation are identified. Conclusions: The main directions of digital transformation for a logistics company are highlighted.
