Purpose: Up to 65% of children with congenital heart disease (CHD) suffer from malnutrition. The goal of our study was to evaluate how health and nutrition outcomes changed in newborns undergoing surgery for CHD at our institution after implementation of our “Pediatric Heart Institute Nutrition Program,” which included pre-operative and post-operative feeding algorithms to standardize nutritional management.
