The Revised Second Victim Experience and Support Tool: Thai Translation and Psychometric Evaluation.

Background and Purpose: Nurses are vulnerable to being second victims, resulting in physio-psychological problems and leaving their profession. Exploring second victims requires reliable instruments. This study aimed to translate the Revised Second Victim Experience and Support Tool (SVEST-R) and evaluate its psychometric properties. Methods: The translation process applied the World Health Organization guidelines and validated the Thai version of the SVEST-R (Thai-SVEST-R) with 400 registered nurses. Results: Part A of the scale had a highly constructed validity with a significantly good model fit and was equivalent to the original SVEST-R. For Part B, the test-retest reliability value was satisfactory. Conclusions: Thai-SVEST-R demonstrates evidence of validity and reliability, indicating the scale's value for measuring Thai nurses' experiences as second victims.

Obstetric Fistula: Connecting the Interface between Social Work and Social Support Services for the Management and Reintegration of Victims in Ebonyi State, Nigeria

ABSTRACT Obstetric fistula is a chronic health condition that leaves affected women medically, socially, physically, and psychologically battered and traumatized. Those with the health condition live their lives as a social recluse because of the unpleasant smell the disease produces in them thereby making people avoid them. Adequate social support to those affected by the disease from all quarters has helped in the management and prevention of the health condition. This study, therefore, aims at exploring and connecting the link between social work and social support in the management of obstetric fistula in Nigeria and the reintegration of survivors into the society. The study adopted a qualitative approach using interviews and focus group discussions to collect data from 51 participants, and the data were thematically analyzed. The results of the study highlighted the potential roles of social workers in enhancing social support for the management and reintegration of victims of obstetric fistula in Nigeria. The findings also revealed challenges confronting social workers in enhancing social support in fistula victims. Findings from the study have implication for policy development, hence, the full involvement and expansion of the coverage of social workers in maternal and public health is recommended.

Erasing stigmas through storytelling: why interactive storytelling environments could reduce health-related stigmas

In this article we describe how designers can apply storytelling to reduce health-related stigmas. Stigma is a pervasive problem for people with illnesses, such as obesity, and it can persistently hinder coping, treatment, recovery, and prevention. Reducing health-related stigma is complex because it is multi-layered and self-perpetuating, leading to intertwined vicious circles. Interactive storytelling environments can break these vicious circles by delimiting the narrative freedom of stigma actors. We theoretically explain the potential of interactive storytelling environments to reduce stigma through the following seven functions: 1) expose participants to other perspectives, 2) provide a protective frame, 3) intervene in daily conversations, 4) persuade all stigma actors, 5) exchange alternative understandings, 6) elicit understanding and support for stigma victims, and 7) support stigma victims to cope with stigmatization. We elaborate on these functions through a demonstration of an interactive storytelling environment against weight stigma. In conclusion, this article is a call on designers for health and wellbeing, scientists, and practitioners from various disciplines to be sensitive to the pervasiveness of stigma and to collaboratively create destigmatizing storytelling environments.

Addressing Workplace Harassment in Pakistan: Building a Safe and Inclusive Environment

Globalization has resulted in more women participating in the workforce, but it has also led to an alarming increase in human rights violations. A persistent issue in the modern workplace is harassment. Workplace harassment takes many forms, including verbal abuse, physical assault, discrimination, and sexual misconduct. It creates hostile and offensive experiences for individuals and groups, despite being illegal in many places. This not only hampers productivity and job satisfaction but also harms employees' mental and physical health. Organizations have a moral and legal duty to address workplace harassment. Organizations should promote awareness of the legal and ethical consequences of sexual harassment through dialogue, leadership support, and accessible resources. Key strategies to combat workplace harassment include clear policies, training, inclusive culture, strong legal frameworks, victim support, monitoring, and collaboration. Implementing these strategies creates safe and thriving workplaces. This article focuses on workplace harassment, particularly sexual harassment against women. It highlights the prevalence of harassment, its various forms, and the challenges women face in addressing it. The article emphasizes the need for societal and governmental recognition to effectively combat workplace harassment. It also explores global and regional prevalence of workplace harassment, its consequences, and strategies for prevention.

The right to accompaniment by a person of the victim‘s choice as a key right to avoid secondary victimisation: Exploratory qualitative research in Spain

This paper explores the right of any victim of crime to be accompanied by any person of her choice from the first contact with the authorities. This right was formally acknowledged by the Directive 2012/29/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 October 2012 establishing minimum standards on the rights, support and protection of victims of crime, and replacing Council Framework Decision 2001/220/JHA (2012/29/ EU Directive), and transposed to the 2015 Law 4/2015 of 27 April 2015 on the standing of victims of crime (2015 Law 4/2015), subject to exceptions on reasoned grounds. The rationale for this right is the persistent secondary victimisation of victims in the criminal justice system and the need for a procedural justice approach. This article draws on qualitative exploratory research conducted during September, October and November 2019 in the Basque Country (Spain), based on information collected from fieldwork observation, photos, questionnaires and interviews with victims and legal professionals, as well as secondary data on a Basque Government program that offers more comprehensive professional companionship to women victims of intimate partner violence. It analyses some aspects that emerge from the implementation of this right in Spain. Finally, it concludes that, even if relevant, the specific legal inclusion of this right in the Directive should be complemented with a more responsive perspective of human rights.

Developing Core Indicators for Evaluating Second Victim Programs: An International Consensus Approach.

To establish a consensus for evaluating second victims (SV) support interventions to facilitate comparison over time and across different organizations. A three-phase qualitative study was conducted from June 2023 to March 2024. This consensus approach engaged members of the European Researchers Network Working on Second Victims. A nominal group technique and insights from a scoping review were used to create a questionnaire for Delphi Rounds. Indicators were rated 1-5, aiming for agreement if over 70% of participants rated an indicator as feasible and sensitive with scores above 4, followed by a consensus conference. From an initial set of 113 indicators, 59 were assessed online, with 35 advancing to the Delphi rounds. Two Delphi rounds were conducted, achieving response rates of over 60% and 80% respectively, resulting in consensus on 11 indicators for evaluating SV support programs. These indicators encompass awareness and activation, outcomes of SV support programs, as well as training offered by the institution. This study presents a scoreboard for designing and monitoring SV support programs, as well as measuring standardized outcomes in future research.

Criminal Prevention and Support for Children Against Sexual Violence by Pedophiles

Objective: This study aims to identify the common characteristics of pedophiles, preventive measures against sexual violence towards children, necessary support after incidents of sexual violence, and the underlying factors contributing to both becoming a pedophile and victimization by pedophiles. The research focuses on understanding these aspects to develop comprehensive strategies for prevention, intervention, and support. Methods and Materials: This qualitative research was conducted in Karaj, Iran, involving experts in psychiatry and law who specialize in sexual violence by pedophiles. A total of 10 participants, including 5 psychiatric experts and 5 legal experts, were selected through snowball sampling. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews until theoretical saturation was achieved. NVivo software was utilized for organizing and analyzing the qualitative data. The Delphi technique was employed in a multi-stage process to achieve consensus among experts on the identified sub-dimensions and operational indicators. Findings: The study identified several common characteristics among pedophiles, such as medical history, psychological issues, family problems, and criminal records. Preventive measures included enhancing knowledge and awareness, implementing control measures, defining family boundaries, and strengthening legal punishments. Necessary support for victims emphasized appropriate parental reactions, counseling, and empathy. Underlying factors contributing to pedophilia and victimization were categorized into economic, social, and cultural influences. The study also found that comprehensive educational programs targeting both children and parents and holistic support systems are crucial in addressing the issue. Conclusion: Addressing pedophilia and child sexual violence requires a multi-faceted approach that includes prevention, intervention, and support strategies. By understanding the characteristics of pedophiles, implementing effective preventive measures, and providing necessary support to victims, the impact of this crime can be mitigated. Strengthening family and community support systems and incorporating culturally sensitive approaches are essential in creating a safer environment for children.

Developing a Horizontal Risk Assessment Instrument for incidents of domestic violence victims in Greece: Understanding the landscape and risk factors as identified by the Hellenic Police

ABSTRACT This article describes the process of developing the Hellenic Risk Assessment Instrument reaching the pilot phase, with particular application to the police. The Risk Assessment tool is designed to assess incidents of domestic violence for recidivism and lethality. In particular, the Hellenic Risk Assessment tool is designed to be applied horizontally, across all frontline national agencies that receive reports of domestic violence and abuse (health, police, social services, specialised network of structures for victim support). First, the legal underpinnings nationally and internationally will be described, and the theoretical background and methodology for the overall project will be discussed. During the first stage of the development, data were collected from the specialised department for domestic violence in the Hellenic Police force for the period from January 2019 until July 2021. The data pertained to six overall parameters, which were selected to identify potential risk markers that might be potentially present in the Greek domestic violence incidents. These include perpetrator variables (age, gender, ethnicity), victim variables (age, gender, ethnicity), incident variables (type of violence, and prevalence). In addition, the number of cases reported before and after a domestic homicide, the number of cases at the times of major sporting events and at during the major holidays were investigated. The results were then analysed and will be presented and cross-referenced with other international findings and were used to create the preliminary version of the risk assessment tool. During the second phase of the development of the tool, focus groups were conducted with police officers who covered various departments (Anti-Racism division, Homicide division, Minors, Domestic Violence), that came into direct or indirect contact with victims of abuse, and could offer significant insight into risk factors and parameters that could potentially lead to recidivism and to lethal violence and be usefully incorporated within the tool as well as give their expert opinion as to its efficacy.

Causes of Child Marriage and its Effects on Maternal Health of Teenage Mothers in Chereponi District, Ghana

The purpose of the study was to investigate child marriage and its effects on maternal health of teenage mothers in the Chereponi District in the North East Region of Ghana. The study used a quantitative approach underpinned by descriptive survey design. A sample size of 150 was selected using purposive sampling technique. Child marriage questionnaire, psychological general well-being and a demographic questionnaire were used to collect data. Data was analysed using frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation using SPSS version 25.0. Findings revealed that child marriage is caused by poverty and economic demands, the protection of girls’ sexuality as a means of strengthening family relations, socio-cultural and religious factors, and preventing premarital sex. The study also found that child marriage has profound impact on the maternal health of teenage mothers. Again, girls should be oriented to take their studies seriously and report any early signs of child marriage to Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit and Social welfare for prompt action. The study recommended that there should stringed measures where perpetrators of child marriage will be sanctioned by law. The study further recommended that girls should be given enough psychoeducation on the effects of child marriage. Finally, it was again recommended that counsellors and psychologists should provide counselling to girls to be self-assertive and provide economic empowerment strategies to make girls less dependent and vulnerable.

Analysis of the work of the VDS info and victim support service over the past 20 years

To help victims overcome the consequences of victimisation and their recovery, in 2003 the Victimology Society of Serbia established the VDS Info and Victim Support Service as a special organisational unit, which provides support to victims of crime. The VDS Info and Victim Support Service is a service whose target group consists of victims of all forms of crime, regardless of any personal characteristics or form of injury. This makes the VDS Info Service specific, which is why it represents a general service for victims, as opposed to specialised services that provide aid to certain categories of victims. Through information, emotional support, and connections with other institutions and organizations, victims have been empowered for the past twenty years through the VDS Info Service, so that they can overcome the consequences of the injury suffered and regain confidence in themselves and their environment. From 2003 to 2023, a total of 6.425 contacts were made with 3.615 persons within the VDS Info and Victim Support Service. In the largest number of cases, the reason for contacting VDS Info Service was the violence to which the persons who turned for help and support were exposed, such as violence at the workplace and domestic violence. The paper aims to present the results of a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the work of the VDS Info and Victim Support service in the past 20 years, as well as to present the two-decade work of the Service, its origin, development, organisation, way of working, as well as the results so far to the scientific, professional and general public.

범죄피해자 국선변호인 제도 활성화 방안에 관한 연구

Criminal justice procedures have historically been centered on punishment for crimes, and proof and defense of crimes have been key. The ideology of the Criminal Procedure Act, which is the principle of discovery of substantive truth, proper procedure, and prompt trial, was also established in this dimension. However, as the interest in criminal law expanded to the area of recovering criminal damage, many academic theories and legislation for this came to fruition. The need for social support for crime victims is also gaining a lot of support from the international community. The UN adopted the SDGs and suggested equal access to justice as one of the international community's efforts, and recently, “The Kyoto Congress” emphasized the need for compensation and compensation beyond the victim's participation in criminal justice procedures. Legal assistance and assistance from lawyers are essential to enable crime victims to recover to their daily lives. Currently, Korea guarantees this right to victims of crime under a special law. However, the reality is that support for crime victims is insufficient because the types of crimes that can be assisted by lawyers are limited. Therefore, there is a need to expand the scope of crime victims to use the public defender system. Currently, the system stipulated only in the special law should be stipulated in the Criminal Procedure Act, a general corporation, and there should also be legislation for the elderly who are socially vulnerable. In addition, from the beginning of the criminal damage, the effectiveness of the recovery of the damage should be secured with the assistance of a lawyer. In addition, it is necessary to clearly define the role of public defenders who have suffered criminal damage and prepare a plan that enables legal support from the investigation stage to the process of receiving damages. In order to guarantee the defendant's right to defend, the Korean Criminal Procedure Act recognizes various rights and operates a system. If so, it is appropriate to provide the same level of support to victims who have been victimized by the accused. Anyone can unintentionally become a victim of a crime, and the cause of the crime is also in the social environment. If so, the state is obligated to establish a social system so that the daily life, which has been painful due to criminal damage, can be restored to the time before the damage situation. In addition, the prerequisite of such a system is to be able to receive assistance from public defenders.

한국판 스토킹 위험성 평가 도구(K-SAS) 피해자 취약요인을 통한 스토킹 사건 위험성 평가

Recently, in Korea, stalking has been a big social issue, and the way how to
 deal with it and how to support the victims has been also discussed with great
 interest. This study analyzed the scores of the victim vulnerability factors (V
 factors) of the Korean Stalking Assessment Scale (K-SAS) developed by Lee and
 her team(2023) to verify whether the severity of stalking cases is predictable with
 the V factors. To do so, 36 experts in charge of counseling and supporting
 victims at the sexual crime victim support center who had experienced stalking
 victims support evaluated two cases for each, a serious case and a mild case,
 based on the V factors of K-SAS. As a result of the analysis, it was found that
 the total score of the V factors significantly predicted the severity of the stalking
 cases, and as the total score of the V factors increased by 1 point, it is about 1.4
 times more likely to be one of the serious group, R2=.186, OR=1.411, p<.01.
 According to the ROC (Receiver Operating Characteristic) analysis, the optimal
 cut-point for discriminating the serious cases and the mild cases with the total
 score of the V factors was found to be 7 points (AUC=.653), which means that
 the V factors of the K-SAS can distinguishably predict the severity of stalking
 cases, and that the stalking case with the total score of 7 or more can be
 estimated as a serious case. The results of the correlation analysis between the
 scores of the each item and the total score suggest that the current victim
 protection by criminal justice system do not effectively lower the risk of stalking
 cases, or that the experts in charge of supporting victims regard it like that. And it is also suggested that the economic situation of the victims has a great
 influence on the risk of stalking cases and that the financial support for victims
 may be important to lower the risk of stalking cases.

여성폭력 피해자 보호·지원시설 종사자의 성인지 교육 요구와 맥락

This study investigates the needs and context of gender equality training for workers at the protection and support facilities for women affected by gender violence. We employed focus group interviews (FGI) with 20 field workers from various support facilities, exploring the specific contexts in which they need gender training and the particular contents and training methods needed. The findings indicate workers agreed on the importance of continuous gender training, emphasizing the necessity of training that encourages critical reflection on practices that contribute to gender discrimination. They sought knowledge and attitudes to approach victim support with the understanding of social structure. They also desired an open learning community for discussion due to the tension among colleagues and the need for more conversation on the gender-sensitive approach. In terms of method of education, they expected participatory and self-directed learning. Based on this, the study suggests gender equality training that brings the content from the actual experiences of their field. It explores participatory training that uses voices collected from the field as both material and direction for education and analyzes and discusses the social structures underlying the cases. This research provides foundational data for developing professional training programs for the workers that enables more comprehensive support of gender violence victims and offers meaningful insights for social transformation toward gender equality.

노인 혐오범죄 및 인권침해에 대한 형사정책적 개선방안에 관한 연구

Due to industrialization, urbanization, and nuclear familyization, the meaning of the Eastern country and the idea of the elderly filial piety are gradually fading, and the lack of a stable source of income, poverty, economic difficulties, job vulnerability, physical and mental health vulnerability, and social isolation and disconnection have caused elder hatred and discrimination. In particular, COVID-19 has increased the difficulty of social relations, elder hatred and discrimination have led to various crimes against the elderly, and various policies are being implemented to resolve the violation of the human rights of the elderly and protect the human rights of the elderly. In particular, in order to harmonize with the rapidly changing times and act as a rights subject, social systems must be established and operated to ensure access to various information, and systems that support the elderly to have the ability to utilize them must also be prepared, but the search for these legal and institutional measures around the world is being overlooked, and the vulnerability of elderly human rights is intensifying. Therefore, from a criminal policy perspective, this paper proposed five policies: first, the enactment of the “Act on the Prohibition of Elder Hate,” second, the enactment of the “Protection of Senior Human Rights” by local governments, third, the development and activation of education programs for the elderly at crime victim support centers, and fourth, the establishment of a council for “prevention and protection of human rights against elder hate crimes” by local governments, and fifth, the establishment of a “Hate Crime Prevention Instructor” certificate.

THE COMPARATIVE LAW ON THE CRIME OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE BETWEEN INDONESIA AND THE UNITED KINGDOM

The sexual violence is often experienced by women although it does not rule out the possibility that men can also experience sexual harassment. Each country has different regulations from one another regarding the definition, regulation and punishment of the Crime of Sexual Violence, as well as Indonesia and the United Kingdom. The type of research used is normative legal research or juridical normative, namely legal research based on examining library materials or secondary data materials which include research on legal norms. The purpose of this research is to analyze the legal regulation of criminal acts of sexual violence in Indonesia and legal comparison of criminal acts of sexual violence between Indonesia and the UK. So far, cases of sexual violence that mostly occur against women and children, including boys, are often just drowned and difficult to reveal. When they enter the legal process, it is not necessarily going to provide justice to victims. There are things done in the UK that Indonesia can emulate. For example, the Reynhard case came to light because at the University of Manchester there is a telephone complaint service, which offers support for victims of sexual violence or for those affected.

CASES OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN HANDLED BY SENTRA PARAMITA MATARAM

Various forms of societal violence often target women, causing significant impacts on well-being and requiring substantial recovery efforts. This research aims to comprehensively explain the different forms of violence against women in Sentra Paramita Mataram. The study employs a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, enabling an in-depth exploration of experiences and perceptions of victims and a better understanding of the context of the violence. Primary subjects are women who have been victims of violence in Sentra Paramita Mataram, with social workers, psychologists, and nurses as informants. This approach allows for a thorough examination of the experiences and perceptions of victims, providing a nuanced understanding of the dynamics of violence against women in this specific setting. Data collection methods include in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The data analysis process involves presenting data, reducing data, verifying information, and drawing conclusions. Study findings reveal that the most prevalent form of violence against women in Sentra Paramita Mataram is physical violence, including actions such as causing injuries, physical assaults, torture, and rape. Non-physical incidents of violence against women, such as verbal abuse, harassment, involvement in commercial sex work, and neglect, also receive attention. Both physically and non-physically experienced violence compels victims to seek immediate assistance at Sentra Paramita Mataram, underscoring the urgent role of the center as a support and protection hub for victims. This research contributes to a profound understanding of the dynamics of violence against women in this environment and lays the groundwork for more effective intervention and prevention measures.

Second Victim Symptoms and Desired Support Strategies Among Italian Health Care Workers in Friuli-Venezia Giulia: Cross-Sectional Survey and Latent Profile Analysis.

The second victim (SV) phenomenon concerns health care workers (HCWs) whose involvement in a medical error, as well as non-error patient safety events, has affected their well-being. Its prevalence ranges from 10% to 75% and can predispose HCWs to burnout, increasing the probability of committing errors. The primary aim of our study was to determine the prevalence of HCWs involved in an adverse patient safety event in Friuli Venezia Giulia Region (Italy). The secondary aims were to use latent profile analysis to identify profiles of SVs and factors influencing profile membership, and to evaluate the relationship between the severity of symptoms and desired support options. A cross-sectional survey through the Italian version of the Second Victim Experience and Support Tool tool was conducted in 5 local health authorities. Descriptive statistics were conducted for all variables. Associations and correlations were assessed with statistical tests, as appropriate. Latent profile analysis was based on the scores of dimensions measuring SVs' symptoms. Factors affecting profile membership were assessed through multinomial logistic regression. A total of 733 HCWs participated. Of them, 305 (41.6%) experienced at least 1 adverse event. Among dimensions measuring SVs' symptoms, psychological distress had the highest percentage of agreement (30.2%). Three latent profiles were identified: mild (58.7%), moderate (24.3%), and severe (17.0%) symptoms. Severe symptoms profile was positively associated with the agreement for extraoccupational support and negatively associated with the agreement for organizational support. A respected colleague with whom to discuss the details of the incident (78.7%) and free counseling outside of work (71.2%) were the support options most desired by HCWs. The severity of symptoms was directly associated with the desire for support strategies. The prevalence of HCWs involved in adverse events is consistent with the literature. Three latent profiles have been identified according to SV symptoms, and the higher the severity of symptoms, the greater the reliance on extraoccupational support.

Interventions to support nurses as second victims of patientsafety incidents: A qualitative study of nurse managers' perceptions.

To describe nurse managers' perceptions of interventions to support nurses as second victims of patient safety incidents and to describe the management of interventions and ways to improve them. A qualitative study using interviews. A purposive sample of nurse managers (n = 16) recruited from three hospital districts in Finland was interviewed in 2021. The data were analysed using elements of inductive and deductive content analysis. The study identified three main categories: (1) Management of second victim support, which contained three sub-categories related to the nurse manager's role, support received by the nurse manager and challenges of support management; (2) interventions to support second victims included existing interventions and operating models; and (3) improving second victim support, based on the sub-categories developing practices and developing an open and non-blaming patient safety culture. Nurse managers play a crucial role in supporting nurses as second victims of patient safety incidents and coordinating additional support. Operating models for managing interventions could facilitate nurse managers' work and ensure adequate support for second victims. The support could be improved by increasing the awareness of the second victim phenomenon. Mitigating the harmful effects of patient safety incidents can improve nurses' well-being, reduce burden and attrition risks and positively impact patient safety. Increasing awareness of the second victim phenomenon and coherent operation models would provide equal support for the nurses and facilitate nurse managers' work. COREQ checklist was used. What does this paper contribute to the wider global clinical community? Nurse managers' role is significant in supporting the second victims and coordinating additional support. Awareness of the second victim phenomenon and coherent operating models can secure adequate support for the nurses and facilitate nurse managers' work.

Effectiveness of Teaching and Demonstration in Improvement of Knowledge and Skill on CPR among School-going Adolescents: A Quasi-experimental Study

Background: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is one of the most evolving areas of saving actions that improve the survival rates following cardiac arrest and educating high school students can play a dynamic role in case of emergencies in society. Education of school students in CPR is a strategic goal for the improvement of bystander CPR in rural society. If adolescents were trained to perform CPR during school physical education hours, this may be a cost-effective approach to CPR training. This study is conducted to assess the effectiveness of health education in the improvement of knowledge of CPR among school-going adolescents. Aim: To assess the effect of a training program on students’ knowledge of CPR. Objective: (A) To determine the background knowledge of high school students about cardiac arrest and basic life support in adult victims of cardiac arrest. (B) To determine the association between knowledge of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and skills with selected demographic variables. Materials and methods: This is a quasi-experimental study conducted among adolescents aged 13–15 years attending schools in rural areas of South India. The study was conducted between Jan 2022 and Jan 2023. 680 students were included in this study. The universal sampling method was used to enumerate the participants to reduce the impact of the dropout rate. The data was collected using a pre-tested semi-structured questionnaire by interview method. Basic teaching of CPR for the participants included 2 hours of oral teaching using lecture method, question and answer discussion method as well as 2 hours of practical session using demonstration, practice on a manikin, provision of feedback and correction of errors. Results: A total of 680 participants were grouped into three categories according to their knowledge scores: (A) fair, (B) Moderate, and (C) Good scores obtained in pre-training observation and post-training observation. Initially, there were 666 (97.9%) in the fair category, most of them improved after training as seen in the post-training observation results, with 97 (14.3%) persons in the fair (A) category. There was not a single student in the good category of the score before intervention, which increased to 665 (45.6%) in the good category of knowledge. The mean score of pre-training is 2.55, and the post-training score is significantly increased to 9.5. Conclusion: An improvement is observed in knowledge of CPR post-training with planned teaching and demonstration. Hence, this method can be considered a logical solution for improving knowledge about CPR in cases of emergency life-saving skills in a particular group of society.
