Analysis of the Effect of Internal and External Factors on the Tax Collectors Performance at UPT. SAMSAT Medan Selatan

This study aims to determine and analyze the influence of the work environment, supervision, training and psychology of taxpayers on the performance of local tax collectors at UPT SAMSATMedan Selatan.This type of research is sequential explanatory design research conducted using a mixed-method research method. The sample in this study were all local tax collectors who work at UPT SAMSAT Medan Selatan, totalling 70 people. The type of data used in this study is primary data. The sampling technique used was the total sampling technique. And the data analysis technique uses the PLS (Partial Least Square) technique, a structural equation analysis (SEM) using the SmartPLS software.The results in this study indicate that the work environment, supervision and psychology of taxpayers have a positive and significant effect on the performance of local tax collectors at UPT SAMSAT Medan Selatan. Meanwhile, on the other hand, training is proven to have no significant effect on the performance of local tax collectors at UPT SAMSAT Medan Selatan. Why Do People under Community Supervision Work and Earn So Little? And What Can Policy Do to Increase Their Employment and Earnings?

In this article, I review what we know about the impacts of felony convictions and incarceration on later employment and earnings, particularly for those under community supervision. I then discuss what employers and public policymakers can do to improve these outcomes. First, I review the basic empirical facts on the employment and earnings of returning citizens, various hypotheses that could explain these facts, and the available evidence that support those hypotheses. Second, I review why people under community supervision may have either similar or different employment outcomes from those of returning citizens more broadly. Third, I consider the perspectives of employers and why it might be in their interests to reduce hiring penalties associated with earlier incarceration (especially in tight labor markets). Fourth, I consider what we know about policies to reduce these penalties and improve outcomes. In sum, I argue that both moral and economic arguments exist for a general reduction of hiring penalties that would improve employment outcomes.

Management of Strengthening Character Education Through Example and Characteristics

This study aims to describe the real situation/state of the management of character education through example and habituation in schools. The approach taken in this study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out in three steps; data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The conclusions of this study indicate: a) program planning to strengthen character education has several stages, namely observation, coordination, compiling work programs, program implementation, supervision, and evaluation, b) school principals are assisted by teachers, vice principal and related parties c) program implementation through four stages of activities, namely integration, exemplary, civilizing/ habituation , and cooperation with parents, d) direct program supervision process, e) program evaluation through the stages of evaluation preparation, data processing, and improvement. The findings in the field can be ascertained that the management of character education through exemplary and habituation is in accordance with the theories of several experts and the field in every process of activity in management to improve character education through exemplary and habituation continuously in one period according to the existing situation and conditions.

The purpose of this study is to find out how public sector case management supervision works. An online survey was conducted targeting public sector case managers, the heemang-welfare team leaders and the machum-welfare team leaders, and so on. In the survey, the supervision cycle, frequency, providers, problems, and contents related to internal and external supervision were asked. Frequency analysis, cross-analysis, T-test, and ANOVA were applied using PASW 25.0, and 750 cases were finally analyzed. Particularly we focused on the status of supervision and the differences between urban and rural areas. The analysis results are as follows. First, we found that 23% of the study participants did not receive any internal supervision, and 27.2% did not receive any external supervision. Second, in the supervision cycle, the responses to ‘1-2 times per week’ and ‘2-3 times per month’ were high for internal supervision, and ‘1-2 times per 3 months’ and ‘1-2 times per 6 months’ were high for external supervision. The internal supervision providers showed a high response to the machum-welfare team leaders and the heemang-welfare team leader. The external supervision providers showed a high response to the experienced field workers or professors. In relation to the supervision implementation system including supervision cycle, frequency, guidelines, and system, we found that rural areas should be further developed compared to urban areas. With regard to the contents of the supervision, we found that the supportive supervision was not well understood and implemented well in both urban and rural areas. Based on these results, contents and improvement strategies were suggested for the establishment of a case management supervisory system in the future.

Organizational Support of Working from Home: Aftermath of COVID-19 from the Perspective of Workers and Leaders

(1) The objective of this study is to analyze working from home (WFH) arrangements implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are focusing on: 1. The main challenges and differences in WFH arrangements, compared to regular work before the pandemic. 2. The scope of WFH workload and its potential negative effects on workers’ well-being and reconciliation of work and family. 3. Organizational support to workers WFH, including communication with co-workers, IT specialists, and leaders, and required competence to perform WFH. 4. Organization support of work process, including data access, provision of IT, and work supervision. (2) The research is based on structured interviews with 102 employees and leaders of WFH in the second wave of COVID-19 in Slovenia. (3) Results strongly confirm previous research and emphasize that the pandemic has suddenly completely changed the WFH by placing a much greater accent on work–family reconciliation, communication among co-workers and leaders, work organization, workload, and organizational support. (4) Identified WFH practices developed during the pandemic will help individuals and businesses to optimize WFH and hybrid work, which is on the rise.

Helmet Wearing Recognition of Construction Workers Using Convolutional Neural Network

One of the most effective ways to prevent construction workers from suffering a head injury is to wear a safety helmet. The use of a computer vision method to detect whether or not construction workers are wearing helmets can improve external construction worker supervision, reducing the number of head injury accidents. A helmet-wearing recognition method based on head recognition is proposed using CNN (convolutional neural network). The area of the head of constructors can be accurately located using crossvalidation of facial feature recognition and head recognition, which solves the problem of determining constructor head position under complex posture. The I-YOLOv3 target detection network is used to detect helmet wear, and the relative position relationship between the helmet and the human body is determined. The findings show that the helmet wearing identification system can be successfully applied to helmet wearing identification work in a complex environment construction site, and it offers a new research perspective and technical method for construction industry information-based safety monitoring.

Remote scanning support in magnetic resonance imaging: Friend or foe?

IntroductionRecent advances in technology have seen the introduction of remote scanning capabilities become a reality for departments, allowing staff to remotely access, observe and even scan without being by the scanner side. The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated use of remote working which also aligns with the direction of travel for healthcare more widely. However for technology to succeed it needs to be acceptable for use by radiographers in clinical practice. MethodsFollowing trial of a remote scanning technology, a group of radiographers were surveyed for their views on its use in practice. The survey was based on the Technology Acceptance Model as well as providing opportunity for open feedback on views regarding the technology. ResultsPerceived ease of use was high but appears to have little influence over overall intention to use. Perceived usefulness was lower and demonstrated correlations with attitude towards and intended use of the remote technology, suggesting that this is a key area to address which would positively impact on acceptance. Other considerations that would help support effective implementation were highlighted with the majority stating the technology as friend rather than foe. ConclusionAs an early evaluation of practitioner views on remote scanning within MRI, the results highlight the areas that would benefit from further development before further roll out in practice. A clear vision of its use and robust governance is needed to effectively support its implementation and acceptance by radiographers. Implications for practiceIntroducing remote scanning technology has potential to support training and share skills of experienced radiographers across multiple locations. It has the potential to transform the way MRI departments work and increase safer supervision to enable wider utilization of the support workforce.

Analysis on Safety Management of Construction Site

In view of the importance of safety management in construction site,from bearing frame of formwork,external scaffolding,construction machinery and other aspects,which exist more hidden dangers the content of safety supervision work in construction site are introduced as well as some experiences and viewpoints in order to realize interchange among supervisors and increase supervision level.

Validation of Chinese Version Emotional Labor Scale for Social Workers in Mainland China

Purpose: Social work practice needs emotional labor input, the level of which is related to job satisfaction, and well-being. The aim of this study was to validate the Chinese version of the Emotional Labor Scale (ELS) for social workers in Mainland, China. Method: Using a quota sampling method, 476 social workers in Mainland China were selected, and the reliability, and validity of the translated ELS was tested. Results: Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis revealed a six-factor structure, which was consistent with the original scale. The Chinese version of ELS was indicated to have good factorial validity (KMO = 0.75, Bartlett’s test of sphericity: χ2 = 882.65, df = 91, p < 0.001) and reliability (Cronbach’s α = 0.69). Conclusions: The validated Chinese version of ELS was applicable in future assessments of emotional labor of social workers in recruitment, training and supervision work in Mainland China. Cutoff scores were also suggested.

PENGARUH KEPEMIMPINAN, PENGAWASAN DAN HUKUMAN TERHADAP KEDISIPLINAN KERJA PEGAWAI SEKRETARIAT DAERAH KABUPATEN BIMA

Quality and competitive and reliable Human Resources (HR) in completing organizational tasks in order to realize a superior, clean and authoritative government system beginning with the enforcement of employee discipline. This research is an associative or causal research that examines the relationship between leadership, supervision and punishment variables as independent variables on work discipline as the dependent variable. The sample of this study was determined by calculation using the Slovin formula and the sampling technique using the Probability Sampling technique as many as 100 people as the research sample. Then the instrument for data collection is a questionnaire and before being used, the validity and reliability tests are carried out first. The data analysis technique is multiple linear regression analysis, namely the analysis of connecting more than two variables to determine the magnitude of the change from one variable to another variable or in other words a technique that aims to determine the contribution or influence of independent variables on the dependent variable. The results of the description analysis show that the leadership style belongs to the high/good category. Supervision of work is relatively high on average. Regarding punishment, the results showed that respondents rated professionalism in giving sanctions or punishments to employees who were not disciplined in their work as high and the basis for consideration was as good as possible. The average discipline is good/high. The results of multiple linear regression analysis that: (1) Leadership Style Has a Positive and Significant Effect on Employee Discipline; (2) Supervision Has a Positive and Significant Effect on Employee Discipline; (3) Punishment has a positive and significant impact on employee performance; and (4) Punishment is the dominant variable affecting the work discipline of the Regional Secretariat of Bima Regency. The Bima Regency Government, especially the Regent and Deputy Regent and officials within the Bima Regency, should be given strict sanctions for undisciplined employees while still prioritizing supervision and adjustment of their leadership style in order to improve employee work discipline.

Analisis Pengaruh Gaya Kepemimpinan, Pengawasan Kerja dan Lingkungan Kerja Terhadap Kinerja Pengawai Di Kantor Dinas Kependudukan Dan Pencatatan Sipil Daerah Kabupaten Tapanuli Selatan

This research aims to find out the influence of leadership style, work supervision, and working environment toward the employees’ performance in the Civil Registry Service Office of South Tapanuli Regency. Quantitative method and approach are used together with statistical analysis via SPSS version 26. The population of this research consists of 45 employees working at the Civil Registry Service Office of South Tapanuli Regency. Probability Sampling is done through saturated census; due to the fact that the total population is less than 100 persons. The results show that leadership style has partially positive and significant influences toward the employees’ performance with an amount of tcount > ttable (3,126 > 2,01954), work supervision has positive and significant influences toward the employees’ performance with an amount of tcount > ttable (3,758 > 2,01954), and working environment has positive and significant influences toward the employees’ performance with an amount of tcount > ttable (4,759 > 2,01954). Moreover, the leadership style, work supervision, and working environment simultaneously have positive and significant influences toward the South Tapanuli Regency’s Civil Registry Service Office employees with an amount of fcount > ftable (160,475 > 2,83). The research results show that partially and simultaneously, H1 is accepted; meanwhile H0 is denied. In addition, the coefficient of determination value is 91,6%; with a residual of 8,4% from other independent variable that is purposely left out from this research.

PRACTICES AND PROBLEMS OF SUPERVISION AT ELEMENTARY LEVEL IN DISTRICT BHAKKAR

Supervision is an important aspect of performance management and effectiveness of an organization. This study was conducted to assess the practices and problems of supervision at elementary level in district Bhakkar. To conduct the study, descriptive survey design was employed. Random sampling technique was used to select the sample. The population of the study was all 197 elementary schools and 64 supervisors from district Bhakkar. From population, 16 supervisors and 50 head teachers were selected for the study conveniently. The data collected through questionnaires were analyzed by calculating mean and standard deviation through SPSS v.21. Consequently, the main findings of this study were as follows: The major problems that affect supervisors while implementing supervision. Supervisors were not given adequate facility to manage transportation, while visiting schools for the purpose of supervision. Supervisors are overburden with tasks and lack of access to many schools for visit. Furthermore, the study found that they were not rewarded and encouraged if they perform well. Department takes disciplinary action against them when they cannot achieve targets. Supervisors are facing the problem of lack of means of transportation especially those that have to go to the rural areas. Based on the findings, it was recommended that a supervisor must be trained to perform their duties efficiently. Recommendations can also be made for the provision of required facilities to the supervisory staff that may ultimately impact their work of supervision. Official human resource policies may be developed to recognize the efforts and an incentive system may be introduced to acknowledge and motivate the supervisors.

HUMAN APPROACH IN THE IMPLEMENTING HEALTH PROTOCOLS FOR WORKERS SAFETY IN THE ENGINEERING OF OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY DURING THE PANDEMIC COVID 19

The safety of workers in the oil and gas industry during the COVID-19 pandemic has become a serious public concern. It is known, the oil and gas industry is one of the sectors with a large number of workers who are positively infected with the Covid 19 virus. This has led to the implementation of several pillars of work safety for oil and gas industry workers. One of these pillars is the human approach. The human approach in implementing health protocols has a fairly effective role, especially for the safety of workers in operational systems or industrial engineering. A literature review that focuses on several important points, namely: (1) how is the safety of workers in the oil and gas industry engineering sector during the covid 19 pandemic? (2) What is the function of the human approach pillar in the application of worker safety health protocols in the oil and gas industry engineering sector during the COVID-19 pandemic? Several aspects must be considered in the engineering section of the oil and gas industry by identifying installations and equipment, safe work practices, change management, integrated management, environmental management, industrial health and hygiene, contractor management, operations management, and others. While the pillars of the human approach that are of concern in implementing the health protocol are coaching and training, work competence, supervision, ergonomics, building awareness and interaction in the fields of health, work safety, building a safety culture, and building safe behavior at work.

Workflow management system with smart procedures

Supervision of repair and diagnostic works aimed at improving the safety of maintenance crews is one of the key objectives of the distributed INRED system. Working in a real industrial environment, the INRED system includes, among others, the so-called INRED-Workflow, which provides an infrastructure for process automation. Participants of the service processes, managed by the INRED-Workflow, are controlled at each stage of the performed service procedures, both by the system and other process participants, such as quality managers and technologists. All data collected from the service processes is stored in the System Knowledge Repository (SKR) for further processing by using advanced algorithms, and the so-called Smart Procedures merge services supplied by other INRED system modules. The applicability of workflow management systems in conjunction with image recognition and machine learning methods has not yet been thoroughly explored. The presented paper shows the innovative usage of such systems in the supervision of the repair and diagnostic works.

PENGARUH BAURAN PROMOSI TERHADAP KEPUTUSAN BERKUNGJUNG WISATA KE KEBUN RAYA CIBODAS

According to the result of research performed by the researcher of promotional strategy. Cibodas Botanical Garden manager try to attract the tourist to visit the garden by emphasizing cooperation with schools and giving discount for the visitors (Sales Promotion), distributing brochures and billboard/banner (Advertising), providing website and online media (Direct Marketing) and relying on the tourists who have already familiar with the Cibodas Botanical Garden. The researcher used quantitative method. Types of Descriptive and verificative research were also used to discuss the problem further by selecting the tourists visiting Cibodas Botanical Garden in 2016, which are also treated as research sample. Data was collected by distributing questionnaire to the samples selected by frame sampling. Next, the collected data was processed by SPSS 22.0 program where hypothesis testing was conducted by regression analysis because the researcher aims at finding the correlation among variables and the effects of X1, X2, X3, X4 variables on Y variable. The result of hypothesis testing simultaneously shows that value of Fcount > Ftable, then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means there is a significant effect simultaneously from the promotional mix (X variable) on visiting decision (Y). Partially, there are several factors affecting visiting decision, which are advertising, personal selling, sales promotion, and direct marketing. Based on the research result, it is suggested that the company improve the supervision of employee work under the leadership in order to achieve better employee productivity.

PERFORMANCE CONTROL’S EFFECT ON SMKN 3 PEKANBARU’S WORK DISCIPLE AND TEACHER PERFORMANCE

This study aims to analyze the effect of work supervision on work discipline and teacher performance at SMK Negeri 3 Pekanbaru. Meanwhile, the research was carried out from April to June 2020. The data source for this research was the teachers of SMK Negeri 3 Pekanbaru with 51 respondents as the research sample. The data collection technique used the census method. In addition, the data analysis technique was descriptive analysis, validity and reliability tests, normality and linearity tests, and hypothesis testing, namely path analysis tests. The results of the study: Sub Structure 1 shows direct work supervision (X) has a significant positive effect on work discipline (Y 1) with an influence value of 35.9%. Sub Structure 2 shows that work supervision (X) and work discipline (Y1) has a significant positive effect on teacher performance (Y2) at SMK Negeri 3 Pekanbaru, with an influence value of 79%. Furthermore, the indirect effect shows; Work supervision (X) has a significant positive effect on teacher performance (Y2) through work discipline (Y1) teachers at SMK Negeri 3 Pekanbaru

This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of work quality and monitoring on employee performance in the Personnel and Training Agency of South Minahasa Regency. This research uses quantitative research methods. In this study, there are two variables, namely the independent variable (X) and the dependent variable (Y) where the independent variable (independent) is the quality of work and supervision and the dependent variable (dependent) in this study is employee performance. The data analysis carried out in this study was instrument test, classical assumption test, and multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the study indicate that the quality of work, supervision, and both simultaneously affect the performance of employees at the Personnel and Training Agency of South Minahasa Regency. Through the determination test, it was found that the effect of work quality and supervision was 52.6%, the remaining 47.4% was explained by other variables not examined in this study.

TRANSFORMATIVE ASPECTS OF SUPERVISION

The article analyses the most relevant anthropological and transformative tasks of social work supervision in the context of today’s risk society, promoted by the process of globalisation with its instrumental rationality, which devalues the significance of the personality in the social system. The article provides the ontological grounds of the transformative function of supervision based on synergic patristic anthropology, and describes the simultaneous vectors of the transformative function in the supervision process: 1) experiential (experience-based) transformative learning, or acquisition of ‘practical wisdom’; and 2) anthropological transformation as a process of recreation of true self-identity. The article conceptually emphasises the decisive influence of the intrinsic quality of the supervisor’s personality in the performance of the transformative tasks of supervision, as well as the supervisor’s ability to form reciprocity relations with supervisees in the supervision process.

Audiologists' phenomenographic experiences of professional development during community service in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

BackgroundThe compulsory community service programme (CSP) was implemented to improve access to healthcare and arguably facilitate the transition of graduates into independent professionals. However, its role and outcomes as a developmental platform for audiology graduates remains unclear and scant in literature.ObjectiveTo explore the qualitative differences in the experiences of professional development among new Audiology graduates during their community service year at their fixed-placements in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.MethodsWithin a phenomenographic design and framework, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 12 purposively sampled Community Service Officers (CSOs) of the year 2017, after obtaining ethical clearance, gatekeeper permission and participant’s consent.ResultsThe findings were interpreted according to the tenets of phenomenography. An outcome space based on the participants’ reported experiences, revealed three categories of description: transitioning from graduate to professional, learning in the workplace during community service and professional development. The findings reflected that the work environment, supervision, resource allocation, socialisation and infrastructure contributed to qualitatively different developmental experiences of the CSP.ConclusionThe current model of fixed-placement of the CSOs exposes them to qualitatively different developmental experiences, resulting in them attaining different developmental outcomes despite being in the same programme at the same time. Hence, we argue for an urgent CSP review, with the aim of standardising and redefining its intended outcomes and pertinent criteria for the attainment of the independent practitioner status.
