Meningkatkan Soft Skills Siswa Melalui Pemanfaatan Aplikasi Canva di SMK Al Muhajirin

The background to this community service activity stems from the importance of soft skills in facing the challenges of an increasingly dynamic world of work. In the context of vocational education such as at Al Muhajirin Vocational School, apart from technical skills (hard skills) taught through the formal curriculum, soft skills such as creativity, communication and teamwork are important assets to support students' readiness to enter the world of work. The focus of this community service is to provide training on using the Canva application to Al Muhajirin Vocational School students, which is designed to improve creativity, visual communication skills and collaboration skills. This research uses a qualitative approach with a participatory action research research design. This research was conducted with the aim of understanding how the use of the Canva application can improve the soft skills of Al Muhajirin Vocational School students. The importance of developing innovative and creative soft skills to increase student motivation and help achieve learning goals as well as building interaction and knowledge in creating interesting learning media. This training exists to meet the need to utilize technology as an innovative and interesting learning medium. One application that is easy to use is Canva. The Canva application is a learning medium that can be used remotely, so it can be said to be a creative, innovative and collaborative learning medium, so it can be said to be very helpful in the teaching and learning process.

Speak Up! Empowering Vocational EFL Students through Oral Corrective Feedback

Given the significance of corrective feedback in enhancing language learners’ speaking skills, especially in boosting accuracy and motivation, this study aims to examine the impact of direct oral corrective feedback (OCF) on Indonesian EFL learners. While research has shown that teacher feedback plays a crucial role in student performance, there is limited insight into how students interpret and engage with feedback—a factor essential to its effectiveness. Employing a descriptive qualitative research method, this study involved 39 vocational school students from SMK Medikacom in Bandung, Indonesia. Data were collected through classroom observations and semi-structured interviews, enabling a thorough exploration of students’ responses, behaviours, and attitudes toward Oral Corrective Feedback (OCF). Oral Corrective Feedback (OCF) improved students' speaking skills, with Recast, Clarification Request, and Repetition being the most common types and Recast being the most effective for error correction without disrupting communication. Students reported gains in pronunciation, grammar, fluency, confidence, and teacher-student rapport. Some students, however, felt discomfort with feedback, highlighting the need for a supportive, non-judgmental approach to prevent negative emotional impacts. This study suggests that while implicit feedback benefits advanced learners, lower-proficiency students may need more explicit correction. To maximise OCF’s impact, educators are encouraged to tailor feedback to individual proficiency levels and focus on fostering supportive, adaptive classroom environments.

Project Based Learning Business Communication Teaching Materials To Improve Vocational School Students' Work Readiness

This research aims to develop business-based communication teaching materials Project Based Learning (PjBL) which is valid and tests its effectiveness in increasing the work readiness of Vocational High School (SMK) students. This research uses the ADDIE development model which includes stages Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The development of teaching materials is carried out based on analysis of student and industry needs, as well as validation by material experts, learning media and practitioners. The research results show that the teaching materials developed are valid and effective in improving students' business communication skills. The test results show a significant increase in pretest and posttest scores, which indicates that students are better prepared to face the world of work after using this teaching material. Apart from that, this research also found that the integration of technology in PjBL learning and collaborative learning can help students develop soft skills that are important for success in the world of work. Based on the research results, it is hoped that this teaching material can be implemented more widely in vocational schools to improve the quality of vocational education in Indonesia.

Development of Career Path Planning and Learning Motivation in Vocational School Students

Islamic boarding schools are a form of education that combines formal education with religious education. Apart from being included in the religious education curriculum, extra activities are also provided, this can be done because students live or live in a dormitory in the same area. With busy activities, students often experience boredom, which students at the Darut Taqwa Dlanggu Mojokerto Islamic Boarding School also experience. The result of the boredom experienced is a decrease in students' learning motivation; some students even choose to run away from the boarding school. Apart from the problem of decreasing motivation to learn, another problem faced is the lack of extensive exploration by students regarding career planning after completing their education at the boarding school. After graduating, some of them continued their studies, with their chosen majors being religion and education, while others chose to work and get married. This service activity aims to increase learning motivation and provide career planning to Darut Taqwa Islamic Boarding School students; the activity is carried out in the form of mentoring, where students are given an understanding of motivation and career planning. A follow-up step to this activity was a Forum Group Discussion (FGD) as a forum for sharing and discussion to help resolve problems related to students' career paths. This is intended to help map goals and get to know the various career options and college majors that can be taken after graduating from Islamic boarding school

Analysis of Factors Affecting Adoption Fintech Sharia: Literacy Perspective, Interests, Risk Management, and Sharia Compliance (Case Study on High School, Vocational School and Cileungsi Students)

This study aims to analyze the influence of literacy, interest, risk management, and Sharia compliance on the adoption of Sharia fintech, with a case study of high school, vocational school, and university students in East Bogor. The research sample consists of 100 respondents, and the data analysis technique used is Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results show that literacy has a significant influence on the adoption of Sharia fintech, with a P- value of 0.007 (less than 0.05) and a T-statistics of 2.693. This indicates that a good understanding of Sharia fintech increases the likelihood of adoption. Additionally, interest was found to have a highly significant influence on the adoption of Sharia fintech, with a P-value of 0.000 and a T-statistics of 3.594. This confirms that individuals' desire and interest in Sharia fintech services play a crucial role in driving adoption. Risk management also proved to have a statistically significant relationship with the adoption of Sharia fintech, with a P-value of 0.011 and a T- statistics of 2.557. This suggests that the ability to manage and understand the risks associated with Sharia fintech affects the decision to adopt such services. However, the study results indicate that Sharia compliance does not have a statistically significant relationship with the adoption of Sharia fintech, with a P-value of 0.221 (greater than 0.05) and a T-statistics of 1.227. This means that in this study, adherence to Sharia principles does not significantly influence the decision of individuals or institutions to adopt Sharia fintech.

Pengaruh Praktik Kerja Industri terhadap Kesiapan Kerja Siswa Smk Kota Jombang

The unemployment rate in Jombang district is still quite high, data from the Central Statistics Agency for East Java Province shows that there are still 4.66 percent of Jombang residents who are still unemployed. Efforts to reduce the unemployment rate in the future are by preparing complex education and providing training. Prakerin is expected to be able to increase the work readiness attitude of vocational school students. The approach used in this research is quantitative, with the research population being class XII vocational school students in Jombang City who have taken part in Prakerin. The research results support the first hypothesis that the Prakerin variable has a positive and significant effect on the work readiness of vocational school students in the city of Jombang. It is shown in the f test where the significance value for the Prakerin variable (X) is 0.000 because the significance value <0.05 shows that there is a partial influence of the Prakerin variable (X) on the work readiness variable (Y).

Classroom Climate Effectiveness in State Vocational High Schools in Padang City

Education plays an important role in creating quality human resources. To create quality human resources, they must have good learning outcomes and good learning outcomes are influenced by one of them by the classroom climate. Therefore, the problem that will be studied in this study is "How effective is the classroom climate seen in terms of 1) student cohesiveness, 2) student activity, 3) timeliness of assignment collection, 4) difficulty in students understanding learning, 5) democracy in the classroom, 6) student discipline, 7) completeness of learning resources, 8) comfort of the learning process in State Vocational High Schools in Padang City?". The type of research used is quantitative descriptive with a population of all students of State Vocational Schools in Padang City totaling 14,159 people, with a sample of 108 people. The size of the sample was determined using the Slovin formula and taken using the proportional stratified random sampling technique. The research instrument used was a questionnaire with a Likert Scale model about class climate which amounted to 45 items. Before the questionnaire is used, its validity and reliability have been tested. From the results of the data processing, it was obtained that the effectiveness of the classroom climate in public vocational high schools in Padang City in the aspects of 1) cohesiveness with an average score of 4.40 is in the effective category, 2) involvement with an average score of 4.25 is in the effective category, 3) difficulty with an average score of 3.77 is in the effective category, 4) speed with an average score of 4.06 is in the effective category, 5) Democracy with an average score of 4.25 is in the effective category, 6) Clarity of rules with an average score of 4.34 is in the effective category, 7) Completeness of resources with an average score of 4.22 is in the effective category, 8) Comfort of the physical environment with an average score of 4.12 is in the effective category. Based on these results, the author suggests that the Effectiveness of Classroom Climate in State Vocational High Schools in Padang City be maintained and needs to be improved again so as to increase the effectiveness of the classroom climate by students which is very effective.

Pengembangan Keterampilan Las Listrik SMAW Pada Siswa Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) Di Workshop Politeknik Penerbangan Surabaya

This study aims to achieve several results that contribute to improving the community's ability regarding welding techniques that are currently in great demand by various industries. The method used is a qualitative method with observation used to understand in depth how SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) electric welding skills are developed in vocational high school students. The sample in this study was the Community Service Activity Implementation Team for the Development of SMAW Electric Welding Skills for Vocational High School (SMK) Students at the Surabaya Aviation Polytechnic Workshop in the 2024 Fiscal Year consisting of 16 people, the results of the study showed that the Development of SMAW Electric Welding Skills has improved the abilities of students of SMK Penerbangan AAG Yogyakarta, SMK Penerbangan Angkasa Lanud Iswahjudi Magetan, SMK Penerbangan Angkasa Malang, even providing new experiences for students from the Computer and Network Engineering department. Based on the results of the activity, the participants showed significant progress in knowledge and skills. Increasing knowledge and skills through the approach of educational materials and technical training provided, participants in this activity have learned the benefits, placement, procedures and how to use SMAW Electric welding correctly and safely. Almost all participants of this activity agreed that SMAW Electric Welding can help improve skills both in education and industry. Empowerment of Aviation Vocational School students in developing SMAW Electric Welding skills is expected to be applied in various industrial fields by providing several examples of how to use SMAW Electric Welding.

Vocational high school students need the ability to think creatively to face the challenges of the world of work in the 21st century. Creative thinking skills can be developed through open ended problem solving and problem posing activities. This study aims to describe the creative thinking skills of vocational students in solving and posing open ended problems on sequences and series material. This study uses a type of qualitative research. The subjects of this study were students of class X Office Management 1 (MP-1) at SMK Negeri 1 Geger for the 2022/2023 academic year. Data collection techniques using tests and interviews. Testing the validity of the data using triangulation techniques. Data analysis includes data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are: Vocational school students' creative thinking abilities in solving open-ended problems include indikators of fluency, flexibility and novelty. Novelty is the least likely to appear. Vocational school students' creative thinking abilities in posing open-ended problems include indikators of fluency and flexibility, while indikators of novelty have not yet appeared in posing problems. When posing problems, vocational school students tend to be inspired by previously solved problems. Based on the results of this research, teachers are expected to be able to present open-ended problems in learning so that students' creative thinking abilities can develop well.

Family Functioning, Anxiety and Depression in Chinese Higher Vocational School Students: A Network Analysis.

Network analysis is a statistical method that explores the complex interrelationships among variables by representing them as nodes and edges in a network structure. This study aimed to examine the interconnections between family functioning, anxiety, and depression among vocational school students through network analysis approach. A sample of 2728 higher vocational school students participated in a survey utilizing the Family APGAR Index Questionnaire (APGAR), Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7), and Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9). Meanwhile, a network analysis was conducted to investigate the interrelationships between family functioning, anxiety, and depression symptoms among the higher vocational school students. The network analysis revealed that node APGAR2 ("Partnership") exhibited the highest strength, followed by node GAD5 ("Restlessness"); node GAD7 ("Negative future anticipation"), PHQ9 ("Suicidal ideation"), and PHQ6 ("Guilty") were bridge nodes linking family functioning, anxiety and depressive symptoms in the sample. The results of the Network comparisons testbetween male and female indicated that theedge weights and global strength did not exhibit a statistically significant difference. These results emphasized that certain anxiety symptoms and family functioning nodes are more central than others, and thus play a more critical role in the family functioning-anxiety-depression network, which highlight potential targeting symptoms to be considered in future interventions.

WORKSHOP PENGENALAN PROGRAM DESAIN PCB MENGGUNAKAN PROTEUS DI SMK SAFAATUL UMMAH BREBES

This workshop was held to introduce the Proteus program as a PCB (Printed Circuit Board) design and simulation tool to Safaatul Ummah Brebes Vocational School students, with the main aim of increasing their understanding and skills in designing electronic circuits. This activity includes an introductory theoretical session regarding the basics of using Proteus, a demonstration of making PCB designs, and hands-on practice by participants to complete simple projects. The implementation method consists of a combination of lectures, demonstrations, and project-based practice, with assistance by instructors to ensure participants understand each step. The results of the activity showed that most of the participants succeeded in completing a simple PCB design, showing an increase in their technical abilities. Post-activity evaluation also indicated that this workshop provided significant benefits in broadening students' insight into electronic circuit design and motivating them to learn more about electronic technology. With these positive results, it is hoped that similar activities can be carried out on an ongoing basis to support the development of student competencies in the field of electrical engineering.

The Use of Artificial Intelligence by Students in Vocational Colleges in China and the United States

The rapid development of artificial intelligence, while promoting the progress of the times, has also brought unprecedented employment pressure on vocational school students. To adapt to the requirements of the times, vocational schools in both China and the United States have updated their curricula and teaching concepts to ensure that vocational school students can maximize their mastery of modern AI technology. This article employs interview and questionnaire surveys, combining qualitative and quantitative analysis to investigate the usage and proficiency of AI technologies among vocational school students. The research finds that the use of various AI technologies by students in vocational colleges varies across majors, with equipment availability, the scheduling of hands-on classes, and the frequency of school-enterprise cooperation all contributing to this difference. Although China and the United States share the same reform policies and educational goals, there are still differences in the details of teaching and learning implementation due to different national conditions. However, the findings suggest that it is still beneficial to offer AI-related courses at school. Familiarity with basic theoretical knowledge and practical experience can alleviate students' social anxiety and employment pressure to a certain extent. It can be seen that the reform of vocational education in the era of artificial intelligence in China and the United States is beginning to bear fruit.

The Influence of Canva-Based Learning Media on Creativity and Critical Thinking of Vocational School Students

The creativity and critical thinking of class XI students at SMK Plus Bustanul Ma'arif is still relatively low. One of the reasons for this is that teachers in carrying out learning do not use media. The aim of this research is to describe the influence of Canva-based learning media on the creativity and critical thinking of class XI students at SMK Plus Bustanul Ma'arif. The method used is Quasi Experiment with a Pretest-Posttest Only Control Group Design. The research instruments used were creativity and critical thinking tests. The homogeneity test results show that the sig value. creativity of 0.115 and a sig value. critical thinking is 0.773, so it can be concluded that the sample variance is homogeneous. Meanwhile, the normality test results show that the sig. creativity and critical thinking in the control group and experimental group were normally distributed because > 0.05. After fulfilling the prerequisite tests, the researcher collected posttest data on creativity and critical thinking in the control class and experimental class which were analyzed using the MANOVA test with an error degree of 5%. The results show that there is the significant influence of Canva-based learning media on the creativity and critical thinking of class XI students at SMK Plus Bustanul Ma'arif; Ha accepted and rejected H0.

Measurement of Health Services Vocational School Students’ Knowledge, Attitudes and Behaviors About Radon: Van Province Example

Almost 50% of the natural radiation that is constantly present in our environment is caused by radon gas and its short-lived decay products. Radon (222Rn) is a gas and can become trapped in closed spaces and rise to dangerous levels. Because 222Rn is colorless, odorless and tasteless, it is impossible to detect without special equipment and may not be perceived as a health risk by the public due to these properties. It is important to investigate individual risk perception in order to prevent the negative health effects of radon. In this study, which aimed to determine the knowledge and awareness of students studying in Radiotherapy and Medical Imaging Programs regarding radon gas, a survey consisting of 15 questions was applied to the participants. According to the findings, 54.2% of the participants stated that they had heard of radon and 51.1% stated that radon was harmful. The rate of those who responded that school was their source of information was 33.3%, and most of them were 2nd grade students. The rate of those who did not know the causes of radon in residences was 47%. Although the proportion of those who think that radon testing should be done in homes is high (86.3%), there are many who do not know how to test (94%). The study showed that the level of knowledge about radon among the participants is not high enough. Considering the carcinogenic effect of radon, there is a need to create more awareness among the members of the society.

Omnibus Law dan Substansi Perubahan Undang-Undang Tentang Perpajakan

The omnibus law on taxation in Indonesia is part of the government's efforts to reform the tax system to increase investment competitiveness and support economic growth. These reforms include a range of changes in tax regulations intended to simplify tax administration, expand the tax base, and improve tax compliance. Changes to the law occurred through Law Number 11 of 2020 and changed the content of the KUP Law, Income Tax Law and VAT Law. This change in law was then socialized to the students of Santa Maria Catholic Vocational School Pontianak City in the form of providing knowledge and answering situation analysis about challenges and implementation. It can be concluded that through this Job Creation Law, several important rules contained in the Income Tax Law, the VAT Law and the KUP Law have been changed. Changes in the law substantially renew, clarify, facilitate and provide competitive rates for the ease of doing business cluster in the field of taxation It is hoped that this presentation can support the knowledge of Santa Maria Catholic Vocational School students about the importance of the tax system which later after the students graduate and have an income, they will also become taxpayers and comply with existing taxation according to the law.
