This study aimed to identify the implementation of character education in the era of globalisation through PPKN learning for students of SMK Cendana DDI Samarinda, Samarinda City. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The focus of this research is to find out how the planning, implementation and values that appear in learning at SMK Cendana DDI Samarinda. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data display, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of character education in SMK Cendana students still has many shortcomings in the form of planning that is documented very well but only continues the previous teacher's teaching program, the implementation of character education is very good in the field of delivery and giving examples but in the absence of documentation of measuring student development teachers do not understand how to see the progress of character education in the classroom, the value that arises from the implementation of character education in the classroom has had a great impact on student understanding but because smk cendana is a vocational school students do not pay full attention and focus more on their major lessons

Integrated Implementation of Teaching Factory and Islamic Education to Develop Learning Attitude and Work Ethics of Students in Vocational Schools

Aceh Province, which is a Special Autonomous Region based on Islamic Sharia, based on 2021 data shows that the implementation of the Teaching Factory has not yet occurred completely in all vocational schools in Aceh. This is a strong indication that the main factor has not yet seen the outcomes expected by the community. Seeing the gap in the quality of Teaching Factory implementation among vocational schools in Aceh, it is necessary to conduct a study regarding the integration of Islamic education through the Teaching Factory model as an effort to develop learning attitude and work ethic of students in vocational schools in Aceh. The research design used is a sequential explanatory design or combination model research. The total sample for quantitative data was 228 respondents using the Structural equation Modeling analysis method. Meanwhile, for qualitative data, the sample size was 509 respondents. Quantitative data analysis uses the Structural equation Modeling analysis method, while qualitative data describes the results descriptively by linking them to existing facts and supporting theories from the results of data integration from the implementation of the Teaching Factory and Islamic Education. The research results show that teaching and learning activities in vocational schools are not just coincidental or incidental, but are part of a planned effort to integrate Islamic education into the learning system and daily life through Teaching Factory learning. This integration has a positive and holistic impact on students' personalities, skills, attitude, and values, with a focus on success in the world of business run according to Islamic principles.

Fostering EFL Learners’ Writing Skills through Blog-Assisted Language Learning (BALL)

Blog-Assisted Language Learning (BALL) provides a platform for students to enhance their language skills through interactive and engaging activities. These activities include peer review and feedback, interactive discussions, reflective journals, and multimedia integration. This study aims to investigate the specific impact of BALL on improving EFL learners' writing performance, addressing the problem of how this innovative approach can enhance various aspects of writing skills. This study was conducted using classroom action research in one cycle, involving 18 vocational school students. Data were gathered through writing tests, observation checklists, and questionnaires. The findings revealed that implementing Blog-Assisted Language Learning significantly enhanced the learners’ writing performance and attitudes toward learning English. The students showed improvement in content, organization, vocabulary, language use, and mechanics of their writing. The average score increased from 71.61 in the pretest to 81.9 in the posttest. All students were engaged in the teaching and learning process, and they found using a blog to promote language acquisition to be an enjoyable activity. Additionally, a Paired Sample t-Test showed a significant difference between the students' overall scores pre-test and post-test, with a level of significance of 0.000, indicating that the implementation of Blog-Assisted Language Learning had a statistically significant impact on improving the students' writing performance. Therefore, Blog-Assisted Language Learning proves to be a valuable strategy for enhancing EFL learners' writing skills, and its interactive and enjoyable nature can motivate students, creating a more dynamic and student-centered learning environment.

Analisis Program Badan Layanan Umum Daerah (BLUD) Sekolah Menegah Kejuruan (SMK) Dalam Mewujudkan Layanan Pemerintah Daerah Yang Good Corporate Governance (GCG)

The Regional Government, in supporting education reform for better quality and optimality within its units of authority, established the Regional Public Service Agency Program (BLUD) which can be understood as a system implemented by a technical implementation unit of regional agencies/agencies in providing services to the community, and has flexibility in financial management as an exception to regional financial management provisions in general. In line with the Directorate of Vocational High School Development (SMK) in seeking SMK as a school with BLUD status, this can support the management of goods and services whose superior products can manage the production process in the Teaching Factory Program (TEFA) more flexibly without violating regulations (Fazli, 2022). Implementing the Teaching Factory (TEFA) in the form of goods and services for vocational school students is expected to align with the objectives of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) Regional Government Services, namely good management to support the BLUD Vocational School Program in schools. In conducting this research the author used a descriptive qualitative research method approach.

INVESTIGATING INDONESIAN VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL VOICES IN THE ONLINE WRITING CLASS: A CASE STUDY

Nowadays, online learning that is conducted by students requires them to work harder to carry out the learning process. It is undeniable that students at various levels of education have used online platforms to help the learning process, including vocational high school students. Therefore, it is interesting to investigate students' voices about the implementation of online classes in their schools. In this study, researchers focused on the use of Google Classroom among vocational school students attending online writing classes. This study uses a case study design by selecting eighty students in Bandar Lampung. To collect data, researchers distributed questionnaires through Google Forms and interviewed students. The results showed that students had positive and negative perceptions about the implementation of Google Classroom, namely: (1) There are issues with connecting Google Classroom to the internet; (2) Students do not comprehend the writing materials provided by Google Classroom; and (3) Students' laziness and lack of discipline in carrying out or collecting assignments (5) Students have difficulty expressing themselves and responding in the writing class via Google Classroom. Furthermore, several challenges were discovered for students in online writing classes via Google Classroom, including: (1) Student indiscipline due to being too bored to do online assignments; (2) students' lack of understanding of writing material in class; and (3) Students' lack of interaction with teachers in Google Classroom.

Health Vocational High School is a place of education where students study. Busy student activities can sometimes reduce students' knowledge regarding the use of natural materials. The method applied in community service activities is providing counseling and education in the form of lectures and questions and answers directly by practicing making pomade cosmetics. Students' lack of knowledge regarding the use of natural ingredients from meniran leaves (Phyllanthus niruri L) as the main ingredient in natural pomade cosmetics which functions as a hair growth stimulant. For this reason, students are given education and understanding about the formulation of meniran leaf extract pomade preparations. The aim of holding service activities for students is "Introducing Local Plants for Cosmetics to Gen Z: Education on the Formulation of Meniran Leaf Extract Pomade Preparations as a Hair Growth Stimulator". To provide knowledge and understanding to Dewantara Husada Health Vocational School students regarding the introduction of local plants for cosmetics in the formulation of meniran leaf extract pomade as a hair growth stimulant. The conclusion of this PKM activity was carried out using the lecture and question and answer method, and practice. Based on the high level of participation in this PKM activity, it was classified as very good, participants in the question and answer session were considered to have a special interest in the material

Fire disaster is one of the many disasters that occur in the wider community both in the office and residential environment. This fire disaster generally occurs due to human factors such as: using electrical loads that exceed the power capacity and placing flammable items near the source of fire. This fire hazard will be easier to overcome if people know how to put out fires properly and know how to use extinguishers such as APAR (Light Fire Extinguisher) and the use of gunny sacks. APAR is generally categorized into 3 types, namely: Dry Chemical Extinguisher, Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Extinguisher, and Foam. Extinguishers containing dry chemical powder are very commonly used because they are able to extinguish almost all types of fires. The use of APAR is most likely to be used because of its portable nature, easy maintenance, and easy to use. In the community service that has been carried out at Batam State Polytechnic, a demonstration on how to extinguish fire with fire extinguisher and the use of gunny sacks was also carried out. Participants of this community service program are students, vocational school students and vocational school teachers.

Pengaruh Penggunaan Media Pembelajaran Berupa Alat Peraga Montessori Terhadap Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematika

This research aims to determine the effect of Montessori learning media on mathematical problemsolving abilities. This research method is experimental with regression analysis techniques. The research sample consisted of 70 Bina Bangsa Vocational School students in South Tangerang City who were taken using a simple random sampling technique. The instrument for measuring mathematical problem solving uses a descriptive test of 5 questions. The results of the research show that there is a significant positive influence of Montessori learning media on mathematical problemsolving abilities with a value of tcount (3.61889) > ttable (3.13167).

Innovative Approach: The Role Of Counseling Guidance Teachers Through Zoom Meetings In Improving Learning Guidance And Learning Supervision For Vocational School Students In Jember

The role of the counseling teacher using Zoom Meeting Media shows the importance of context in the association known to students and the process of coaching to supervision by the students themselves so that the concepts received by students are more meaningful. This research is in the form of causal quantitative (causality quantitative) with the research subject of class X students of SMK Plus Bustanul Ma'arif Gumukmas in the 2023/2024 academic year. The purpose of this study is to increase the role of counseling teachers with Zoom Meeting media in improving the guidance and supervision of grade X students' learning. The data in this study are quantitative data obtained from tests of student knowledge and understanding through questionnaire tests. The results of this study indicate: the influence of the role of the counseling teacher by using Zoom Meeting media on student learning coaching is 78.8%, the influence of the role of the counseling teacher by using Zoom Meeting media on student learning supervision is 70.6%, and the influence of the role of the counseling teacher in using Zoom Meeting media on student learning coaching and supervision together is 79.8%. This means that the application of the counseling teacher's role approach in coaching and supervising students has a significant effect.

Creation of Engineering Drawing Learning Modules Using Datum Plane Media in Improving Students' Competence in Automotive Engineering Skills at SMK Negeri 55 Jakarta

The aim of this research is to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of the engineering drawing module using datum plane media to strengthen students' knowledge about projections on objects. This research uses the 4D research method developed by S. Thiagarajan, Dorothy S. Semmel, and Melvyn I. Semmel in 1974 which consists of 4 stages, namely Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. Data was collected through interviews, questionnaires and pre test-post test. The subjects of this research were students majoring in automotive engineering at SMKN 55 Jakarta 2023/2024 academic year class x semester 1 with a sample size of 30 students from a population of 3 classes totalling 103 students. The research began with Define, namely defining the need for difficulties in students' understanding of reading and drawing projections by observing and interviewing teachers who teach technical drawing. Furthermore, from the observation data obtained, the researchers looked for solutions to the problems faced by automotive vocational school students with modules that use datum planes, so the researchers designed the required modules and datum planes. At the Develop stage, the researcher's design is validated by material experts and media experts, their criticism and suggestions are used as input for revising the media created. Finally, the Disseminate media stage, which had been validated and revised, was used on 30 students from SMKN 55 Jakarta, carried out a pre-test-post test and obtained an average result for the entire pre-test sample of 45.33 and post-test of 68.17.

Development of Electrical Circuit Display Panel for Light Vehicle Turn Signal Lights as a Learning Media for Vocational School Students

This research aims to develop a demonstration panel for the electrical circuit of light vehicle turn signal lights as a learning medium. The purpose of making this demonstration panel is to describe the process of making a demonstration panel for the electrical system of turn signal lights on light vehicles, to describe the feasibility test of the electrical circuit demonstration panel for light vehicle turn signals and to describe students' responses to the electrical system demonstration panel for turn signal lights on light vehicles. This research uses the Research and Development method. The subjects in this research are material experts and media experts as well as students, and the objects are teaching materials and students. The instruments used are: observation, questionnaires and documentation. Research procedures include potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design improvement, and product testing. The data analysis technique used is a descriptive analysis technique by explaining the results of making the product in the form of a learning media display panel, testing the validity and suitability of the product to be implemented in lighting systems and light vehicle instrument panels. 1) The results of the process of making electrical circuit display panels for light vehicle turn signal lights as a learning medium have been successfully described in detail, including the steps and components used. 2) The results of the demonstration panel feasibility test after being validated by material expert I scored 93.75%, and material expert II gave a score of 96.87%. Meanwhile, the feasibility results of the media expert panel I gave a score of 100%, and media expert II gave a score of 95.83%. 3) The results of students' responses to the demonstration panel received a very good response, the overall score obtained was 90.38%, which is very suitable.

Towards Improving Welding Skills: Creating Innovative Modules For Teaching SMAW Integrated 3D Animation

This research aims to develop teaching modules on welding techniques in vocational schools using the problem-based learning (PBL) model, a scientific learning approach, and an authentic assessment of welding competency using the manual arc welding or SMAW welding process. The development of teaching modules at vocational schools will improve the quality of the process and the quality of learning outcomes for SMAW welding engineering subjects at vocational schools. This research uses a development research method with a research design using design-based research (DBR), which refers to the instructional design model (IDM) development model design. The participants involved in this research were class XI vocational school students in East Java. The module validity test assessment results have an average score of 3.8 in the very valid category. The SMAW welding technique module that has been prepared can be used to implement SMAW welding technique learning at vocational schools. The teaching module evaluation stage results show an outstanding category, which means that the teaching module developed meets practical requirements. All students' average normalized gain score (<g>) was 0.72, included in the high improvement category. The results of observations of the implementation of the PBL model facilitated by teaching modules from two observers were analyzed using percentages of agreement (PA). The conclusion of the research shows that the teaching module developed is valid, practical, and effective.

Electric Motorbike Conversion Training to Reduce Pollution and Create A Friendly Environment For Society

Electric motorbike conversion training at Vocational High Schools (SMK) and motorbike workshops in Kotabumi, North Lampung, is a strategic step to prepare future workers to face the electricity-based transportation revolution. This study aims to evaluate the impact of training on improving the technical skills of vocational school students and motorbike repair shop mechanics, as well as analyzing the contribution of training to the adoption of environmentally friendly technology at the local level. The training method includes theoretical exposure, field practice sessions, and case studies to provide an in-depth understanding of electric motor conversion. Evaluation is carried out through practical exams and collecting feedback from participants and instructors. The research results showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge and skills regarding electric motor conversion. Adoption of this technology in local motorbike workshops is also increasing, creating the potential for reduced environmental impact and generating positive effects on the local automotive industry. The conclusion confirms that this training was successful in empowering vocational school students and motorbike repair mechanics, creating new career opportunities, and stimulating economic growth in the region. However, challenges such as adapting infrastructure and changing mindsets were also identified as areas requiring further attention. Therefore, this research provides valuable insights for further development in supporting technical education, industrial innovation and sustainability at the local level.

E-Learning Platform for Enhancing 21st Century Skills for Vocational School Students: A Systematic Literature Review

The importance of skills for vocational high school graduates in entering the workforce, facing competition, and increasing productivity, in accordance with the current industry needs, cannot be overstated. E-learning has become one of the platforms that vocational high schools can utilize to assist students in acquiring the necessary skills such as literacy, communication, collaboration and critical thinking as needed in the 21st century. However, the issue lies in determining the type of e-learning that can enhance students' learning outcomes and skills. This paper aims to present an analysis and description of the implementation of different types of e-learning in vocational high school education. The research adopts a systematic literature review approach, incorporating research questions: i) what types of e-learning are being used? ii) what are the impacts of implementing e-learning in vocational high schools? and iii) what competencies can be enhanced through the implementation of e-learning. The subject of this research is articles that have been published in Scopus and Google Scholar-indexed journals. The article selection technique employed the PRISMA method, which successfully obtained 35 articles out of the 2,093 articles. The review results indicate that there are many variations in the utilization of e-learning formats in schools. Digital learning media is one type of e-learning that is often used by teachers, although there are many other types such as e-modules, Learning Management System, multimedia, and others. In addition, the research findings showed that through e-learning, many 21st-century skills, such as literacy and critical thinking abilities can be improved. The findings further showed that e-learning contributes to the improvement of learning outcomes in psychomotor and cognitive aspects. These research findings are expected to serve as a basis for vocational school teachers to confidently utilize e-learning in their teaching activities.

Understanding Vocational School Students’ Work Readiness : The Synergistic Role of Fieldwork Practice and Self-Efficacy

This study aims to analyze the synergy between fieldwork practices and self-efficacy in improving the work readiness of vocational school students. This research used a survey method with a quantitative approach. This study involved 1289 populations and 306 samples from three state vocational schools in Surakarta, selected using a proportionate random sampling method. The instruments used in this study consisted of Fieldwork Practice (FWP), Self-efficacy (SE), and Work Readiness (WR) questionnaires. The data obtained were analyzed by statistical testing of descriptive analysis, correlation, and mediation using path analysis. The results of this study revealed that fieldwork practices and self-efficacy contribute significantly to students’ work readiness. The analysis shows that self-efficacy serves as an important mediator in the relationship between fieldwork practices and work readiness, reinforcing the role of practice-based education in preparing students for the world of work. In this study, it was found that the development of education and training programs that focus on improving students’ self-efficacy through fieldwork practices can be a major key in the school-to-work transition.

Student’s Collaboration and Creative Mathematical Thinking Skills in Problem-Based Learning Using Numeracy Problems

Collaboration and creative mathematical thinking are important for students. However, students' collaboration and creative mathematical thinking skills are still low because students are not used to collaborating or investigating the problem-solving process. This research aims to determine students' collaboration and creative mathematical thinking skills in the 10th grade in Problem-Based Learning using numeracy problems. This research was carried out on 25 vocational school students majoring in accounting in Palembang, Indonesia. The research method used was a mixed method. The results of research on students' collaboration skills show that most of the students are in the excellent category. Students can fulfill respect for others and commitment indicators, but the indicators of deliberation and participation are rarely fulfilled. The research results on students' creative mathematical thinking skills show that 80% are in the very good category, 16% are in the good category, and others are in the pretty good category. Students can fulfill three indicators, fluency, originality, and elaboration, but flexibility is rarely fulfilled. Creative thinking skills of students need to improve.

Pelatihan Microsoft Office Excel Sebagai Upaya Peningkatan Kompetensi Siswa SMKN 1 Praya Tengah Dalam Mengolah Data

The right information can be obtained with good data management. For accurate business decision making, organizations need this information. It is very important for vocational school students to understand data processing so that they can improve their performance in the industrial sector. As a strategy for preparing vocational school students for the world of work, training in using Microsoft Office Excel 2013 for data processing is very useful. At SMKN 1 Praya Tengah, students are involved as partners in this training. The program begins with a pre-test to measure students' initial abilities, followed by scheduling training with partners, creating material based on pre-test results, implementing training, and closing with an evaluation of learning outcomes. The results show students' ability to use various formulas in Microsoft Office Excel 2013 to process data. This contributes to improving graduate skills and the quality of education at SMKN 1 Praya Tengah.

Network analysis of relationships between depressive symptoms and stressful life events in Chinese vocational school students

BackgroundChina's vocational high school students, approximately 13 million, confront unique stressors that may predispose them to depression. Our research investigates core and bridge depressive symptoms and their causal links with stressors in this demographic. MethodWe measured depressive symptoms and stressful life events in 4967 students aged 14–19 using the PHQ-8 and ASLEC, and analyzed the data using GGM and DAG to explore: 1) central depressive symptoms; 2) bridge symptoms/events; and 3) causal relationships. ResultsFatigue surfaced as the central depressive symptom, with guilt, sad mood, and school dislike as bridges to stressors. Guilt was pivotal in influencing other symptoms within the depression network. Fights were a primary trigger, while school dislike led to further depressive symptoms. Stressors generally led to depression, notably the study pressure to guilt pathway. A unique sad mood to heartbreak link was found. ConclusionsCore depression symptoms and bridge symptoms/events between depression and stressful life events in vocational high school students were pinpointed. The results highlight the importance of addressing interpersonal conflicts, family pressures, and emotions like fatigue and guilt to mitigate the transmission of stressful life events into depressive symptoms.

Vocational school students’ use and opinions of voluntary-based online learning solutions presented in a mathematics course

This article focuses on the use made by Finnish vocational upper secondary students, including their opinions, with regard to the voluntary-based aspects and activities of a compulsory mathematics online course. In particular, the study investigated whether the vocational field affects students’ views and actions. There were altogether 313 students from six vocational fields participating in this study, but the number of students who responded to the feedback questionnaires related to the different opportunities and activities varied. Of the opportunities offered, the repetition opportunity was the most used and the most useful from the students’ point of view. Almost 90% of the respondents ended up, either voluntarily or under guidance, taking advantage of the repetition option. The education video was watched by almost 60% of the students responding to the questions related to the video. Students had a positive attitude towards the effects used in the educational video, the length of the video, and the level of explanation of theory. Approximately half of the respondents who were offered an additional practice opportunity took advantage of this, and the opportunity was seen as quite useful. There were only minor, if any, statistically significant differences between the vocational fields regarding the use of the opportunities offered and the opinions related to them. This research will assist in developing online teaching of mathematics at vocational upper secondary level and will also offer guidelines for the development of online education more generally.
