Study on Teaching Database Principles Course based on OBE Concepts

With the rapid development of information technology, database principles, as one of the core courses of computer science and technology majors, the quality of its teaching is directly related to the cultivation of students' practical work ability and innovation ability. However, the traditional teaching mode has problems such as emphasizing theory over practice, single assessment method and neglecting ability cultivation, which is difficult to meet the current social demand for high-quality technical talents. Therefore, this paper introduces the OBE (Outcome-Based Education) education concept into the teaching of "Principles of Database" course, and puts forward a series of teaching reform measures based on the OBE concept, including the formulation of specific teaching objectives, optimization of teaching content, innovative teaching methods, diversified course evaluation and assessment mechanism, etc., to realize the training of students' ability and innovation through the construction of student-centered and output-oriented teaching mode, and to realize the training of students' ability and innovation. By constructing a student-centered and output-oriented teaching mode, it realizes the enhancement of students' independent learning and innovation and practice ability, so as to make students become excellent talents of the new century with innovative consciousness and ability.

In an innovation-driven era, reforming university innovation and entrepreneurship education is crucial. Analyzing the "Hydraulic Buildings" course and its teaching reforms, combined with foreign innovative talent training models, this paper explores a training program for water conservancy innovative talents. Through literature review and case analysis, we assess domestic and foreign teaching reform achievements and propose further reforms. By enhancing teaching reform, integrating innovation and entrepreneurship education, and fostering industry-university-research cooperation, we aim to improve students' comprehensive quality and innovation ability, supporting the national innovation-driven strategy with water conservancy talents.

Exploration of Innovation Ability Cultivation Pattern for Environmental Students based on Open Experiments

The cultivation of innovation ability is especially important for students majoring in environmental science and engineering. In order to solve the problems existing in the process of traditional innovation ability cultivation, a novel pattern of innovation ability cultivation for environmental science and engineering majors based on open experiments is proposed. Through the exploration of platform construction, project declaration, process supervision and effect evaluation, an innovation-oriented open experiment system is constructed and put into practice, which provides students with richer practice opportunities and innovation space, further improves students' practical ability and innovation ability, and is a scientific and effective mode of cultivation of innovation ability.

A study of postgraduate students’ research training environment and innovation capabilities: The mediating role of academic interest and aspiration

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating role of academic interest and academic aspirations in shaping postgraduate students’ innovation abilities. A sample of 847 postgraduate students from the regions of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai was utilised. Structural equation model, employing partial least squares, a second-generation statistical software package, was employed for data analysis. The study reveals three key findings. First of all, it affirms a significant and positive correlation between the research training environment and the innovation abilities of postgraduate students. Secondly, it identifies academic interests and aspirations as crucial mediators within the intricate network of relationships connecting the research training environment and research innovation capabilities among postgraduate students in China. Moreover, academic interest and academic aspirations sequentially mediate this process, shedding light on the nuanced dynamics involved. Using these insights, higher education administrators can improve postgraduate student development and research training procedures.

The Assessment Method Reform of “Machine Design” Course Based on OBE Education Concept

In order to strengthen students' grasp of the knowledge of "Machine Design" and to improve students' ability to solve complex engineering problems and innovate, based on the OBE education concept, this paper analyzes the problems existing in the course of "Machine Design" and reforms the assessment method of "Machine Design" course. The reform highlights the character of the course and the main position of the students, and gives play to the incentive role of the assessment method. Starting from the concrete practice, under the premise of ensuring students' good adaptability, a number of measures focusing on cultivating students' engineering ability and innovation ability are introduced in the assessment. Students' attention to practical projects, academic performance and competition results have been significantly improved, which reflects the effectiveness of this reform to a certain extent.

Research on the Cultivation of Interdisciplinary Innovation Ability of Students in Higher Vocational Colleges and Universities

Abstract The rapid development of the new round of science and technology and the industrial revolution has put forward higher requirements on the quality of higher vocational students, especially the cultivation of interdisciplinary innovation ability. The study adopts statistical methods such as hierarchical regression analysis, chi-square test and gray correlation analysis, combined with questionnaire survey and empirical research, to deeply analyze the influencing factors of interdisciplinary innovation ability of higher vocational students. The evaluation system of innovation ability, which contained 4 first-level indicators and 12 second-level indicators, was tested, and SPSS software was utilized to process and analyze the data. The results show that there are significant differences in the critical thinking ability and knowledge integration ability of higher vocational students, with a mean difference value of 0.07191, a t-value of 7.4264, and a significance test of p=0.037<.05. The interdisciplinary task-driven-class has a more than 7 point advantage over the control class in terms of both the mean score and the innovative score. The results of the study provide strategies and methods for the cultivation of interdisciplinary, creative ability in higher vocational colleges and universities, which are of great practical significance for promoting the comprehensive development of higher vocational students and adapting to the industrial demands of the new era.

The Path and Enlightenment of American Project-Based Learning to Promote the Cultivation of College Students’ Innovative Ability

In this new era of fierce international competition, innovation is the motive force of a country’s development, so cultivation of innovative talents is particularly important in this era. The innovative education in the United States is characterised by project-based learning, which plays a prominent role in cultivating innovative talents and has certain reference value. This paper will summarise the outstanding characteristics of PBL in the United States, that is, PBL in the United States is cooperative, practical and autonomous. Universities cooperate with social enterprises. Interdisciplinary ability is of vital significance and PBL emphasises that teachers should pay attention to guidance rather than control the process. At the same time, multiple assessment standards of comprehensive network should be set. PBL focuses on students’ independent learning ability. Then the paper summarises the lessons and inspirations brought by PBL innovation education, that is, it pays attention to the cooperation with social enterprises while it has a more reasonable practice setting orientation and sets up a more scientific management system, so as to enhance the innovation ability and international competitiveness of college students in various countries.

Reform of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ability Cultivation System for Undergraduates in the Context of Economic Transformation and New Engineering Disciplines

Abstract Science and technology and new industries are constantly changing, providing a more precise direction for innovation and entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities. To reform the cultivation system of college students’ innovation and entrepreneurship ability, this paper proposes the cluster core academic competence model (KAI) to analyze the learning process and the degree of knowledge absorption of college students engaged in bi-innovation education. The Group Learning Generation Network (GLGN) is constructed, and the GCN is used to update the GLGN, which can clearly show the practice and degree of difficulty of knowledge implementation, and focus on cultivating college students’ innovation and entrepreneurship ability. After the experimental research in this paper, the national innovation and entrepreneurship policy and innovation and entrepreneurship courses significantly correlate with the cultivation of innovation and entrepreneurship ability of college students. The Pearson correlation coefficient is 0.233 and 0.183 respectively, and the significance P-value is less than 0.01. From the aspect of the results of the innovation and entrepreneurship ability cultivation, the score of the college students’ participation in innovation and entrepreneurship competitions has risen to 0.098 after the reform, which shows that the reformed training system pays more attention to the education of innovation and entrepreneurship practice of college students.

Construction and Implementation of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education System in Higher Vocational Colleges in the New Era Based on VAR Modeling

Abstract This study is dedicated to exploring the construction and implementation of innovation and entrepreneurship education system in higher vocational colleges. By analyzing the relationship between education investment and industrial employment, it further enhances the innovation and entrepreneurship ability of students in higher vocational colleges. It promotes the synergistic development of education and economy. First, the relationship between higher education investment and industrial employment is analyzed by VAR model, which reveals the influence of education on the structural adjustment of industrial jobs. Second, the evaluation indexes and quality clustering of innovation and entrepreneurship education are refined through fuzzy cluster analysis and K-means clustering method based on seagull optimization algorithm. The research results show that the improved innovation and entrepreneurship education system can significantly improve students’ innovation and entrepreneurship satisfaction and self-evaluation, in which the indicators of entrepreneurial spirit and psychological quality are considerably enhanced. In addition, students’ innovation and entrepreneurship ability showed significant differences in multiple dimensions. This study confirms the effectiveness of the construction of innovation and entrepreneurship education system in higher vocational colleges, which is substantial in improving students’ innovation and entrepreneurship ability.

Coordinated Cultivation of Innovative and Entrepreneurial Knowledge and Ability of College Students Based on Markov Modeling

Abstract Evaluating innovation and entrepreneurship ability measurement of college students is one of the critical areas of research on innovation ability cultivation in colleges and universities. In this study, based on the existing Bayesian knowledge tracking model, the parameter matrix of innovation and entrepreneurship knowledge point relationship is added to improve the standard knowledge tracking model. The CS-BKT model is proposed to provide college teachers with detailed mastery of students’ innovation and entrepreneurship knowledge. Then the corresponding state space is delineated according to the mastery situation, and the evaluation model of innovation and entrepreneurship ability measurement for college students based on polymorphic rewarded Markov chain is constructed. Combined with different transfer probabilities, the model operates on student data to measure students’ innovation and entrepreneurship ability. The results of the study showed that there was a significant difference between the acceptance and non-acceptance of innovation and entrepreneurship education in students’ innovation and entrepreneurship competence, and the level of innovation and entrepreneurship competence of students who had accepted it was 3.71, which was higher than that of students who had not taken it (3.53). There is a significant positive correlation between the social level of the place of origin, the individual level of entrepreneurial experience, and the rank of professional achievement and innovation and entrepreneurship ability, with p-values of 0.008, 0.003, and 0.001 respectively are less than 0.01. This study concludes the factors influencing the innovation and entrepreneurship ability of college students, which provides a reference value to the formation and development of the innovation and entrepreneurship ability of the students.

Exploration of Innovative Development and Talent Digital Cultivation Path of Computer Specialties in Colleges and Universities

Abstract In the face of globalization and the rapid evolution of information technology, higher education, particularly in computer science, encounters both challenges and opportunities. This paper investigates strategies for fostering innovation and digital competency among university computer science students. Through an analysis of teaching methodologies across various institutions, student development, and industry collaborations, we propose a comprehensive educational framework. We evaluate and refine our student innovation ability assessment system by employing both quantitative and qualitative approaches, including the entropy weight method and gray correlation analysis. By updating curriculum content, prioritizing hands-on learning, and enhancing industry partnerships, we demonstrate a marked improvement in students’ programming and practical skills—showing 20% and 25% increases, respectively. Our findings advocate for a holistic revamp of teaching approaches, course material, and university-enterprise collaborations, aligning computer science education with the demands of the digital age.

On “Stratified and Progressive” Teaching System of College Physics Experiment Course

Improving the teaching quality of College Physics Experiment Course can make it conducive to cultivating students' practical ability and innovative thinking ability. Research on the Cultivation Mechanism of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ability of Excellent Engineers

Abstract In this paper, after using PSO algorithm to encode the information on innovation and entrepreneurship education resources in universities, N particle is randomly generated to form the initial population, and it is also necessary to continuously update the particles to carry out the adjustment of the initial population size. The mathematical model of hard constraints of all courses of innovation and entrepreneurship teaching is obtained through the fitness function, on the basis of which, according to the objective function of innovation and entrepreneurship education resources in universities, each kind of resource is effectively allocated to the most adapted aspects, so as to realize the optimal allocation of innovation and entrepreneurship education resources in universities. Based on the current situation of innovation and entrepreneurship education at the Polytechnic Institute of Zhejiang University, the research hypothesis and research design are proposed, and the utilization efficiency and allocation efficiency of innovation and entrepreneurship education resources are confirmed and analyzed. The results show that before the experiment, there was a large difference in resource allocation efficiency between groups; the minimum value was 0.123, and the maximum value was 0.187. After optimization, the allocation efficiency is 0.188, with an average growth rate of 19.55%. That is, the PSO algorithm can achieve the optimization of innovation and entrepreneurship education resource allocation at the Polytechnic Institute of Zhejiang University. The four dimensions of innovation and entrepreneurship education: theoretical education, practical education, teacher quality, educational support and initiative personality of the three dimensions, motivation, change and resilience are in the presence of each other in the middle of the work, and the correlation coefficient is concentrated in the role of 0.5 on average. This study further stimulates the students passion for innovation and entrepreneurship, which is of great significance to the cultivation of students innovation and entrepreneurship abilities.

A Service-Learning Project Based on a Community-Oriented Intelligent Health Promotion System for Postgraduate Nursing Students: Mixed Methods Study.

Service learning (SL) is a pedagogical approach that combines community service with cognitive learning for professionals. Its efficacy in promoting community health has gained broad recognition in nursing education. The application of postgraduate nursing SL programs in community-based intelligent health remains underexplored. Thus, additional investigation is necessary to assess the influence of the SL project based on a community-oriented intelligent health promotion system (SLP-COIHPS) on postgraduate nursing students and health service recipients. This study aims to assess how SLP-COIHPS influences the scientific awareness and research innovation abilities of postgraduate nursing students. In addition, the study sought to examine the experiences of both participating students and health service recipients. We conducted a mixed methods investigation by using web-based surveys and conducting interviews. The web-based surveys aimed to explore the differences in scientific awareness and research innovation capabilities between 2 distinct groups: an experimental group of 23 postgraduate nursing students actively participated in SLP-COIHPS, while 23 postgraduate students (matched one-to-one with the experimental group in terms of grade, sex, and research methods) served as control participants. Semistructured interviews were conducted with 65% (15/23) of postgraduate students and 3% (12/405) of community residents who received health services, aiming to assess the project's impact on them. The community-based intelligent health promotion system installed in intelligent health cabins can be conceptualized as an expert system providing valuable references for student health education. It has the capability to generate comprehensive assessments and personalized health guidance plans. Following training, students were involved in offering health assessments, health education, and related services. Subsequently, after the web-based surveys and semistructured interviews, quantitative data were analyzed using the SPSS (IBM Corp) software package, using 2-tailed t tests and Mann-Whitney U tests; qualitative data underwent analysis using the constructivist grounded theory approach. Postgraduate nursing students participating in this program scored 12.83 (Cohen d>0.8; P<.001) and 10.56 (Cohen d>0.8; P=.004) points higher than postgraduate students in the control group in research awareness and research innovation capability, respectively. On the basis of the qualitative results, postgraduate students reported improvement in this program. Analysis of the interviews revealed a total of 12 subcategories across three primary domains: (1) specialized skills, (2) scientific research ability, and (3) comprehensive qualities. Community residents reported high satisfaction and positive experiences. Analysis of the interviews with community residents identified two primary categories: (1) satisfaction and (2) perceived benefits. SLP-COIHPS had a positive impact on students' development of scientific awareness and research innovation ability. Qualitative study findings also support the further development of practical programs that integrate intelligent health and SL theories in the field of medical education. This includes exploring the potential factors influencing postgraduate nursing students' research capabilities or investigating the long-term effects of the project.
