The Development of Creative Potential as a Condition for the Formation of the Competitiveness of the Future Specialist

Relevance. New requirements for the training of students in higher educational institutions are that acquiring only specialized professional knowledge is no longer sufficient for a future competitive specialist. It is necessary to develop such individual abilities that significantly reveal his individuality and creative potential.Goal of the work. To determine pedagogical conditions that contribute to the development of the creative potential of future specialists as a factor in the formation of their competitiveness.Objectives of the research: Based on the analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature, to find out the essence and content of the basic concepts of the study “personal competitiveness,” creative potential”; to justify the pedagogical conditions for the development of the creative potential of future specialists in the sociocultural space of higher education.Methodology. During the scientific search, the following research methods were used: systemic, analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, generalization, comparison.Results. Based on the analysis of scientific sources, the concept of individual competitiveness is defined as a necessary set of professional and personal qualities that contribute to the possession of competitive advantages in current sociocultural conditions. The pedagogical conditions for the development of creative potential are determined as conditions for the formation of the competitiveness of a future specialist.Conclusions. Preparation for identifying and developing creative potential is possible provided that a creative learning environment is created that stimulates students' creative activity and students' motivation for creative activity.

Pathways of Indian Students Transition Through Higher Education: Why do they differ?

Differential pathways followed by the students deserve more attention due to the development of school education in general and higher education in particular during the last two decades in India. Due to the consistent efforts by the Indian government at the school education level, students arriving at the doors of higher education institutions are no longer homogeneous. As a result, the diversity of students in higher education institutions leads towards diversification of pathways followed by the heterogeneous segments of students. There is a real shortage of studies which have researched the students’ differential pathways through higher education in general and specifically in the Indian context from the micro perspective. This study examines the decision-making process and differential trajectories followed by the students during the transition from secondary to higher education. The methodology of the present study involves a mixed-method approach and data was collected from a sample of 900 senior secondary students. A Self-structured questionnaire and semi-structured interviews were used for the collection of data. The findings reveal that the decision-making process of transition through higher education is complex and involves different stakeholders and timelines in the Indian context.

Principles for Training Students in Circular Economy Skills: Pedagogical and Ecological Areas

The purpose of the study is to substantiate the principles of the formation of students' competencies in the circular economy in the pedagogical and ecological aspect, taking into account the achievement of the sustainable development goals. The methodological basis of the research is the systematic approach, which in pedagogy is aimed at revealing the value of pedagogical objects, identifying their various forms, components, types and relationships between them, which makes it possible to present the acquisition of competences among students for activities in the conditions of the circular economy as a whole presentation of actions using various forms, methods, means of teaching students in heigher education institutions. In the article, the epistemology of social challenges in the direction of achieving the sustainable development goals due to the implementation of the principles of the circular economy and the need in this context for the formation of relevant competencies of students of higher education institutions is substantiated. The characteristics that should correspond to the competence of the circular economy according to the characteristics of the integrated quality of the individual have been determined. The components that form the competences of the circular economy have been identified, which include: axiological, cognitive, practical-technological, and institutional.

Experience of Foreign Countries in the Development of Kinetic Intelligence of Students

The article reflects on the results of research on the experience of foreign countries on the development of kinetic intelligence among students. Methods and approaches used in different countries to encourage physical activity, sports and creativity among students of higher educational institutions are analyzed. Also, the practice of applying the best practices used in foreign educational institutions in the educational system of our country was studied.

This study aims to determine the role of ChatGPT as a virtual assistant for the students in higher education institutions in the Sultanate of Oman to enhance learning, foster their skill growth and improve their productivity. It also aims to identify how the students at Oman College of Management and Technology (OCMT) can use ChatGPT in an effective way, the advantages of using it, and the challenges that prevent it from being used in education, from their point of view, keeping in mind the ethical considerations that arise in the process. Some consider it as a support for the process of developing education, while others see it as a threat that affects its future. On the positive side, ChatGPT helps improve education, while on the negative side, it raises several concerns about fraud and plagiarism. Since the results of the survey showed that many students at Oman College of Management and Technology tend to use AI applications in their studies, the problem of this study emerged in the researchers' desire to explore the degree of students' use of ChatGPT, the advantages of using it, the obstacles, challenges and ethical considerations that may affect its integration in education.

The state of physical readiness of the students of higher education institutions to the defense of Ukraine

The article reveals the theoretical issues of patriotic upbringing and physical readiness of students of educational institutions to defend the state. It was revealed that modern realities led to intensify the search for an effective content of the educational process in physical education, the introduction of physical culture, health and applied technologies to increase the level of physical fitness and mastery of military-applied physical skills and abilities by students of higher education institutions. The purpose of the article is to study the state of physical preparedness of students of higher education institutions to protect the national sovereignty and integrity of Ukraine. Physical readiness refers to the student's physical condition which allows him to perform physical exercises and overcome obstacles that may be encountered in accordance with the requirements of the military task. Departments of physical education should ensure the proper physical readiness of students for life and military service in higher education institutions. Currently, the level of physical preparedness of students of higher education institutions does not meet the requirements for conscripts in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Studies have confirmed that only 7.0% of first-year students have a high level of physical preparedness, these are as a rule athletes who have a high qualification or those who systematically do physical exercises, visit gyms or physical culture and health centers. 24.0% of students are classified as average, 37.2% as low and 31.8% as poor respectively. It can be assumed that 69.0% of the first-year students who have just entered the university are not ready to defend the Motherland in terms of physical preparedness. The system of physical education in higher education institutions of Ukraine needs a fundamental restructuring and restoration.

Mental fitness as a modern trend in physical culture

The article examines mental fitness as a modern trend in physical culture. It is noted that "fitness" is the pursuit of optimal quality of life, which includes social, mental, physical and spiritual components. It is determined that mental fitness is a great way to relieve stress, improve not only physical but also mental health, alleviate psychological problems and get rid of many diseases. Mental fitness includes stretching, balancing, breathing, and relaxation exercises. It is emphasized that mental fitness is one of the safest forms of exercise. It includes yoga, Chinese wushu gymnastics and its varieties, stretching, European Pilates, Feldenkrais, Loban, Alexander, Kalan Pinkney (Callonica) and other programs; all of them are largely based on the principles of Eastern health systems. All Eastern systems are characterized by the active involvement of mental activity, concentration, conscious breathing, meditation and relaxation. It is concluded that in order to improve the health and level of physical activity of students of higher educational institutions, it is necessary to use popular areas of mental fitness - Pilates and fitness yoga, which are valuable in the field of physical training.

THE USE OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES FOR LEARNING FOREIGN LANGUAGES IN NON-LINGUISTIC HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

The aim of the work is to determine the effectiveness of the use of digital technologies for learning foreign languages in non-linguistic higher education institutions (HEIs). The aim was achieved through the use of general theoretical methods of comparison, observation, as well as calculations of the statistical significance, efficiency ratio, Phillips’ correlation coefficient. The results showed that YouTube, Simpler, and Memrise are the easiest to use, as they do not require additional training for learning the functionality. Blackboard, Learn English, and Bussu applications have the greatest efficiency in classroom perception of the necessary information, as they are aimed at the complex interaction of understanding the theory and the performance of multi-directional tasks. According to students, Rosetta Stone, Learn English, and Memrise applications are the most favourable for self-study. Based on the Kirkpatrick Model, it was established that the majority of students achieved a high level of knowledge (72%). Although students believe that they have reached a medium level of knowledge to a greater extent, as they do not know all the necessary rules. It was found that during language learning students were primarily able to develop working memory (19%), cognitive flexibility (18%). They also gained independence in obtaining new knowledge (17%). The practical significance of the article is in the combination of various digital technologies for learning a foreign language by students of non-linguistic HEIs. The prospects for further research may be determining the effectiveness of learning of students of non-linguistic and linguistic educational institutions with the use of YouTube, Blackboard, Rosetta Stone, Learn English, Simpler, Memrise, Bussu.

Педагогическая профилактика негативных поведенческих проявлений обучающихся образовательных организаций высшего образования МВД России

The urgency of preventing undesirable manifestations in the behavior of students of higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia is explained by the fact that in modern Russian society, as well as in other countries, abnormal behavior has become a common phenomenon among this age group. Types of antisocial behavior among adolescents are becoming more diverse and complex, which entails an increase in negative social consequences both for adolescents and young people themselves and for society as a whole. Prevention of negative behavior among students, of course, is an important area of work with adolescents, since it is the younger generation that shapes the course of development of society.
 
 The article discusses pedagogical prevention aimed at eliminating negative behavioral manifestations of university students The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, which is a set of educational measures aimed at preventing, and possibly completely eliminating negative manifestations that affect the development of deviant behavior of students.
 
 Any negative manifestation of deviant behavior carries a potential danger both for adolescents themselves and for society as a whole. It is for this reason that the identification and prevention of negative behavioral manifestations among students is a critically important area of activity. To achieve maximum results in prevention, it is necessary to focus on forming an active position in the life of every young employee who is just starting his professional career. To do this, it is necessary to pay sufficient attention to leisure activities: sports, art, self-education.

The main tasks and subject of military-economic statistics as a branch of statistical discipline are proposed. The main challenges and tasks of the national economic system in the conditions of a full-scale military invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine are characterized, as the solution which will accelerate Ukraine’s victory in the war. Emphasis is placed on the importance of the following elements of statistical management support, such as accounting, analysis, and forecasting of the vector of development, taking into account all the burdens of war. The key role in this process should be given to the state administration, including state statistics bodies, and, accordingly, to the improvement of statistical literacy at the appropriate level of competence of specialists. Definitions of such concepts as: «military economy», «economic statistics of the Armed Forces», «economic statistics», and «military-economic statistics» are given, and they are also classified and structured among themselves. It was determined that military-economic statistics is a branch of statistical science that studies the quantitative side of mass military-economic phenomena and processes in an inextricable connection with their qualitative characteristics in the conditions of a certain place and time. The subject of the study of military-economic statistics is the quantitative side of mass military-economic phenomena and processes inextricably linked with their qualitative characteristics in the conditions of a certain place and time. Accordingly, the object of the study of military-economic statistics is the quantitative side of mass military-economic phenomena and processes. The structure of this branch of statistical science can be successfully presented in the educational process of higher education institutions for students studying economic and military specialties and specializations (general and special).

Factors Influencing Social Media Platform Engagement among Thai Students: A Quantitative Study

This study delves into the complex landscape of social media utilization among undergraduate students in higher education institutions in Thailand, investigating the pivotal factors that shape their engagement with these platforms. Employing a quantitative research approach, the investigation utilizes a meticulously crafted multi-stage sampling methodology coupled with a robust data collection process. Through applying multi-correlation and multiple-regression analyses, the research unveils significant insights into the determinants of social media usage among Thai youth. Notably, motivation for social media use, access, creativity, and participation through these platforms emerge as substantive predictors. This aligns seamlessly with existing research, underscoring the critical roles played by motivation and accessibility in influencing online engagement. The resultant predictive equation is a pragmatic instrument for comprehending and forecasting social media engagement patterns among Thai undergraduate students. The findings underscore the importance of motivation, access, and creativity as driving forces behind social media utilization. This research equips educators, policymakers, and researchers with valuable insights, emphasizing the imperative of fostering responsible and effective use of social media within this demographic. Being a victim: how knowledge hiding affects student creativity and performance in higher education

ABSTRACT Taking the perspective of the hidden object in knowledge hiding of higher education institutions (HEIs), this article explores how HEI students’ perceived knowledge hiding (PKH) affects their knowledge resources in the form of academic creativity and academic performance. Based on social information processing (SIP) theory, we investigate the mediating role of perceived social undermining (PSU) and the moderating role of proactive personality. Using time-lag data from 306 HEI students collected in China, we found that PKH was a strong predictor of PSU, and PSU mediated the negative relationship between PKH and academic creativity and academic performance. In addition, proactive personality not only played a moderating role between PKH and PSU, but also moderated the negative indirect effect of PKH on academic creativity and academic performance (through PSU). Overall, our research expands the literature on the consequences of knowledge hiding from the victim’s perspective.

From Campus to Crisis: Psychological Effect of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Indian Management Students.

The COVID-19 pandemic has adversely affected students pursuing higher education, but limited studies highlight student's psychological experiences, especially from Western India. The present study aimed to understand psychological experiences, coping behaviors, and the perceived role of tele-counseling services among final-year students of Masters of Business Administration from leading business schools (B-schools) in Western India. A qualitative research design was adopted for the study. A semi-structured interview guide was utilized to conduct in-depth interviews with 35 students. Students were reached via personal networks and social media, and data was gathered after the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. A thematic analysis technique was employed to analyze the data. The findings showed that management students had upsetting psychological experiences. Key stressors that emerged in the study were job concerns, lifestyle changes, concerns about their own and parents' health and safety, uncertainty about the future, and social isolation. They expressed the need for mental health help; however, they were reluctant to utilize tele-counseling services. The authors present an integrated psychological well-being model for promoting positive mental health among students in higher education institutions. The study explains the psychological toll on management students. Enhancing mental health literacy through awareness sessions and other innovative means would be critical to addressing myths around mental health and mental healthcare-seeking behavior in higher education institutions. An integrated approach to promoting positive mental health and well-being is needed.

Lessons of the global COVID-19 pandemic in relation to the quality of education

The global COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on humanity, affecting not only physical health but also neurological, social, and ecological well-being. Neurological and psychological disorders can negatively impact learning quality and significantly worsen learning outcomes for higher education students. The aim of this study is to compare the prevalence and evaluate the symptoms of post-COVID-19 syndrome among senior students in two higher educational institutions, Poltava State Medical University and Poltava National Pedagogical University named after V.G. Korolenko. The impact of these symptoms on the quality of education will also be assessed through analysis of the author's questionnaire. Rehabilitation measures will be recommended to improve quality of educational process. It has been determined that there is a high level of damage to the nervous system among students from both universities, which is accompanied by a combination of symptoms including headache, memory impairment, insomnia, anxiety, unmotivated weakness, and excessive fatigue. The aforementioned complaints and the need to increase time for completing educational tasks after illness, along with memory impairment and sleep disturbances, suggest that the academic performance, psychological state, and psychosomatic background of students are at a low level. Therefore, recommendations for cognitive rehabilitation of this category of applicants are necessary, taking into account their significant educational load. The samples were made by senior year students. Physical activity levels among senior higher education students may exacerbate post-COVID-19 syndrome symptoms. Recommendations for the physical rehabilitation of this patient group are necessary. Applicants experiencing weakness, increased fatigue, reduced work capacity, sleep disturbances, and mood instability should review the organization of the educational process in distance learning conditions and make changes to their lifestyle. Distance Learning During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Language Barriers and New Contents of Kazakh Society

The COVID-19 pandemic, which rocked humanity on Earth, changed people's attitudes, psychology, and way of life. Because of this situation, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared an emergency of international importance, various scientific and clinical studies were conducted, and the people of the world had to adapt to the situation. In 2020–2022, it is known that the COVID-19 pandemic has become a serious challenge for the education system of the whole world. During the pandemic, schoolchildren and students of higher education institutions couldn't study in the traditional format, so they switched to the online mode. When the pandemic started, it was not easy to hold classes in a distance learning format. Both teachers and students of higher educational institutions had to learn ways to use information and communication technologies, new platforms, and tools and use them in the teaching process. The purpose, methodology, methodical materials, organizational forms of the lesson, selection of educational tools, and organization are related to pedagogical design. However, despite the systematic planning of classes, there were gaps in the organization of online training, such as the inability of all students to connect, poor internet access, lack of devices to use the internet, unsuitability, etc. All this interfered with the activities of students in the lesson process communicatively and pragmatically. Also, during distance learning, lexico-semantic barriers were encountered in the speech of students, which were influenced by cases when new terms began to be actively introduced into our language, difficulties with their interpretation, and limited ZOOM time for analyzing and interpreting the meaning of these words. These points were taken into account and analyzed in the article. The changes in the people's daily life in our country were also reflected in their language, i.e., since March 2020, our language has been supplemented with many new words, and several words and phrases have acquired new meanings. Some of them expanded the scope of work and moved from special medical and social spheres to general use. The article also paid attention to the types and usage of new language units that entered the vocabulary of the Kazakh language during the spread of the Coronavirus infection.

Challenges Faced by the International Students Studying in Universities of Pakistan

The study tries to find out the challenges faced by international students in higher education institutes in Pakistan. The main objective was to find out the challenging areas for international students studying in higher education institutes in Pakistan. A descriptive research approach was utilized to find the challenges experienced by international students in Pakistani higher education institutions. Data was collected using a 5-point Likert-type scale questionnaire comprising six parts covering academic, social and cultural, logistic and administrative, financial, discrimination-related challenges, and support and resources. Prior to the main data collection phase, pilot testing was conducted with a small group of international students to refine the questionnaire and assess its alpha reliability (0.921) and validity. Data was collected from 150+ samples using snowball sampling due to a low response rate from different universities. Ethical considerations were considered, and respondents were provided with informed consent outlining the purpose of the study. Data analysis was conducted using statistics software. Descriptive statistics, including frequency distributions and group statistics, were used to quantify and compare the challenges. Mean scores, standard deviation, t-values, and significance were also calculated. The study found certain very challenging areas for international students and certain areas as less difficult. The study recommends a comprehensive support setup for international students by the higher education institutes of Pakistan.

Addressing language-related challenges requires tailored support mechanisms and interventions that facilitate language acquisition and proficiency. Moreover, motivation plays a pivotal role in shaping international student experiences and outcomes. Understanding the diverse motivational factors driving international students can inform the design of interventions aimed at fostering engagement, persistence, and academic success. By proposing a comprehensive framework that integrates these key dimensions, this concept paper seeks to contribute to the ongoing discourse on international student success. It underscores the importance of adopting a holistic approach that considers the interplay of various factors and levels of influence. Ultimately, enhancing the international student experience requires concerted efforts from educational institutions, policymakers, and other stakeholders to create an inclusive and supportive environment conducive to academic achievement and personal growth.
