The Influence of Intra-School Student Organizations (OSIS) on the Formation of Pancasila Student Profiles at SMKN 3 Pekanbaru

This research is motivated by the independence curriculum, one of the achievements of which is the Pancasila Student Profile, which aims for Indonesian education to embody Indonesian students as students who have global competence and have behavior that is in accordance with Pancasila values. We certainly don't get the formation of the Pancasila Student Profile from the learning process alone, there are organizations that facilitate the implementation of the formation of the Pancasila Student Profile. The activities of the school and OSIS are able to have a positive impact, making it easier to understand the Pancasila Student Profile. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of OSIS on the formation of the Pancasila Student Profile at SMKN 3 Pekanbaru, using descriptive quantitative research. Meanwhile, data collection techniques use questionnaires, documentation and interviews. The results of the F test obtained that F_tab is 4.052 while F_hit is 43.798 so it can be concluded that in this case F_hit is greater than F_tab so Ho is rejected and so Ha is accepted. Based on this statement, this research hypothesis is accepted. The relationship between OSIS and the formation of the Pancasila profile is in the strong range. Where the value of the relationship (R) is 0.698. From this output, a coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.488 was obtained, which means that the influence of the independent variable (OSIS) on the dependent variable (Pancasila Student Profile) was 48.8%. so it can be concluded that the Intra-School Student Organization has a positive influence on the Pancasila Student Profile at SMKN 3 Pekanbaru.

Black Students’ Mental Help-Seeking Processes During College Matriculation

The present study examined how Black students’ pre-college beliefs and perceptions of mental health services influenced their help-seeking behaviors, both within and beyond college counseling services. Using semi-structured interview data and consensual qualitative research methods (CQR), we examined the experiences of 48 Black college women and men (ages 18–22) sampled from two universities. We identified the following four themes: (1) pre-college experiences shape mental health knowledge (MHK); (2) college adjustment challenges as a precursor to seeking treatment; (3) negative perceptions of college counseling services; and (4) campus community mental health support. Upon seeking counseling services, many students encountered a lack of diversity in counseling staff and cultural mistrust. Thus, they opted to seek mental health support in campus community spaces curated by Black student organizations and administrators. Overall, our findings suggest Black students engage in various alternative campus community spaces to support their mental health. We conclude by discussing the need for deliberate and specialized mental health support for Black students.

Study on the Application of "Time Bank" to College Students' Volunteer Service System in the Context of Rural Revitalization

With the idea of inclusiveness gradually penetrating into the philosophy of governance of colleges and universities, college students' volunteer activities are gradually enriched, and college students have become the most energetic group in youth volunteer activities. Student organizations and associations at the college or school level have become the main field and position for college students to carry out volunteer service activities in various colleges and universities. They arouse students' interest and achieve the purpose of recruiting college students' volunteers by means of credit awards, personal enhancement, and outings, etc., and then carry out volunteer service activities on the basis of which they provide various services for others or the society to promote the development and progress of China's society. According to the survey, college student volunteers have reached 83.1% of the total number of volunteers, college students have been the main force in the body. However, from the current situation, the conditions of volunteer service are still lacking, the contemporary university volunteer group students do not have a comprehensive understanding of volunteer service, awareness is weak, and volunteer activities are mostly top-down type of promotion, passive volunteer service also deviates from the original intention of the spirit of volunteerism. Therefore, with the development of the new era of volunteerism, how to cultivate and improve the awareness of college students volunteering has become an urgent task.

Menumbuhkembangkan Keterampilan 4C Melalui Problem Based Learning (PBL) Terintegrasi Role Playing dan Game Quizziz

This research discusses the use of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model which is integrated with the Role Playing method and the Quizziz game platform in improving 4C skills (Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity) in 4th grade elementary school students in understanding the rights and obligations of students. Pancasila Education lessons. In the 21st century era of education, the need to develop these essential skills is crucial to prepare students to face an ever-changing environment. PBL, with a focus on solving problems relevant to everyday life, is integrated with role playing and Quizziz games as an innovative solution in learning. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a focus on an integrated learning approach. The research was conducted at SD Negeri Semarangan 1 involving 25 grade 4 students as research subjects. Data was collected through documentation and observation techniques. The results of the research show that through structured learning steps, such as student orientation towards problems, student organization for learning, individual and group investigation guidance, development and presentation of work results, as well as analysis and evaluation of the problem solving process, 4C skills can grow and develop in student. Students engage in collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking while undergoing these learning stages.

Empowering Future Teachers: The Role of Student Organizations in Enhancing Public Speaking and Teaching Skills

<span id="docs-internal-guid-8c3491fc-7fff-0197-f738-be37e25a0884"><span>Recognizing the pivotal role of teachers in shaping education, extensive research has been conducted to assess their effectiveness. Among the prominent challenges faced by many educators is mastering public speaking, a crucial skill for effective classroom instruction. This study delves into whether participation in student groups can augment aspiring elementary school teachers' public speaking and teaching competencies while emphasizing the significance of public speaking skills within the teaching profession. Employing descriptive qualitative methods such as interviews, observations, and document analysis, the research elucidates the profound impact of public speaking proficiency on teaching effectiveness. The study encompasses four key stages: preparation, implementation, analysis, and reporting. Twelve students participated as respondents, focusing on those actively engaged in group activities. Additionally, six lecturers from the Primary School Teacher Education Study Program, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, knowledgeable about the fundamental skill requirements for aspiring teachers and the program director, served as supplementary subjects. The findings suggest that engagement in student groups can significantly enhance aspiring teachers' public speaking skills, thereby better equipping them for successful careers in education.</span></span>

Satisfaction of Students on their Respective Organization at Asian Institute of Maritime Studies

The study endeavored to elucidate the performance as well as the satisfaction of students toward their respective student organization in AIMS. Descriptive-correlation was used to determine the significant difference in the performance and satisfaction of the student organizations while documentary analysis was used to assess the performances of the same organizations. Employing stratified random sampling as sampling technique, and using Slovin’s formula to derive the samples, respondents were 244 randomly selected students from course-based organizations at the College of Business (CB) and Maritime College (MC) in AIMS, Pasay City. A validated, self-made survey questionnaire was utilized as data gathering instrument. Data were outsourced at the Center for Student Services (CeSS). To analyze the data, percentage, weighted mean, and analysis of variance were employed as statistical tool for the study. Based on the findings, Nautica Society and Marine Engineering Society (MES) had the largest student organization populations while members who are moderately active also comprise the largest number in terms of population. Performance wise, the AIMS Cyber Mode Society (ACYMOS), Culinarians Hospitality and Entrepreneur Fellow Society (CHEFS), and Junior Executive Society (JES) were student organizations that have almost complied with the required number of activities to be held. In terms of satisfaction, the members of Nautica and MES were only satisfied (WM = 2.7 and 2.6 respectively) with their seminars, community services, other activities, officers elected, and advisers appointed except for MES’ community service with fairly satisfied result mainly because there were no activities held by these student organizations for the previous academic year. PSCAS and NARCHIMES members were also satisfied because of the same reason above. A high satisfaction level was also given to the officers and advisers of other organizations namely CHEFS, JES and ACYMOS because of their active leadership on their respective organizations. Except for the community services rendered, there is no significant difference between the members of the different organization and their level of satisfaction in terms of seminars held, other activities held, officers elected, and advisers appointed. No significant difference was also noted in the performance of the organization and their activities.

Unearthing, preserving, and promoting Sikh American history: The Sikh American history project

ABSTRACT The Sikh American History Project (SAHP) is a grassroots organization of scholars, students, and community members committed to unearthing, preserving, and promoting the stories and experiences of Sikh Americans. By sharing these stories from the early pioneer era to the present day, SAHP aims to build greater understanding and respect for Sikh American history. SAHP also offers a variety of educational resources and programs designed to engage and inform individuals both within and outside of the Sikh American community about Sikh American history and culture.

Self-determination and self-efficacy as predictors of campus engagement among college students with serious mental illnesses.

Campus engagement, including participation in student organizations and groups, is important for both academic and health outcomes. Yet, college students with serious mental illnesses demonstrate lower levels of campus engagement compared to peers without mental illnesses. To inform psychiatric rehabilitation approaches that might enhance this outcome, the purpose of this study was to test an integrated model of self-determination and self-efficacy theories to predict campus engagement within this student population. Sixty-seven college students with serious mental illnesses completed measures assessing self-determination constructs (autonomy, competence, and relatedness), college self-efficacy, and campus engagement. Correlational and path analytic models examined relationships among these variables. Bivariate and multivariate analyses supported the interrelationships among the variables. Specifically, the theory-driven path model demonstrated that autonomy (but not competence or relatedness) was a significant predictor of college self-efficacy, which in turn was associated with campus engagement. Findings particularly highlight the importance of autonomy and self-efficacy for promoting campus engagement among college students with serious mental illnesses. As such, they may be relevant targets for psychiatric rehabilitation interventions, such as supported education, that are designed to enhance student success. Bodo Conflicts and Signing of Accords

India’s North-East region (NER), comprising of eight states- Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim, is inhabited by a large number of ethnic groups. The region is juxtaposed with a large number of challenges simultaneously- armed conflict, ethnic conflict, poverty, inequality, etc. A multicultural, poly-ethnic region, ethnicity and the ethno-nationalists sentiments of the numerous communities of the region have often led fanning political and ethnic conflicts. Ethnic violence can be categorised in three different types- first, there is violence fabricated by armed ethnic organisations in order to achieve their goals, often targeted against the government, involving rival organisations in the same ethnic groups or even against civilians belonging to other ethnic groups. Second, violence is set up by student (and other) organisations, including protests against the government through road blockades, the burning of bridges, and sometimes clashes with police or para-military forces. Third, there are inter-group clashes. Assam, the second largest state of the NER has been in turmoil and agitation since long. The Bodoland region is one of the most disturbed areas in Assam. Inhabited by various ethnic groups like the Bodos, Gorkhas, Assamese, Santhals, Bengali speaking Muslims etc., this region has witnessed several conflicts.

Comparative Study of Learning Outcomes among Students Engaged in Student Organizations and Those Not Participating in Student Organizations

This research aims to compare the learning outcomes of students who actively participate in student organizations with students who do not participate in student organizations in Basic Mathematics courses. The research design utilized a quantitative comparative approach with two sample groups, each consisting of 34 students who actively participate in organizations and 33 students who do not participate in organizations. The research instrument was a basic mathematics learning outcomes test, including objective and subjective aspects. The results of statistical tests indicated that the average score of students who actively participate in organizations (77.21) is higher than students who do not participate in organizations (72.58). Data analysis using the t-test showed a significant difference between the both groups (p = 0.026), confirming that students who are active in student organizations have better academic achievements. These findings support the alternative hypothesis, which states that there are significant differences in learning outcomes between the two groups. These results have the implication that participation in student organizations can make a positive contribution to student learning outcomes. Therefore, it is recommended for educational institutions and students to consider the potential benefits of involvement in student organizations as a strategy to improve academic achievement.

Level of Environmental Ethics Awareness and Environmental Citizenship Participation among Filipino Higher Education Student Leaders

School institutions are responsible for honing environmental ethics awareness and environmental citizenship participation among their students. Student leaders, on the other hand, are expected to uphold responsibilities to empower their co-students and address pressing environmental issues through different sets of activities aligned with sustainable development goals. Thus, this study assessed the higher education student leaders' environmental ethics awareness, environmental citizenship participation, and its correlation, and proposed a plan of activities to sustain and enhance the two aforementioned variables. By employing a descriptive-correlational design with a researcher-made questionnaire, this study found out that the higher education student leaders are highly aware of ethical actions concerning the environment. However, in terms of citizenship participation, the results revealed that these student leaders are not highly participative in various environmental activities despite having high levels of awareness. Hence, this study suggests that fostering collaborations among student leaders, organizations, and clubs will address environmental issues collectively, strengthening their environmental ethics awareness and participation, and a proposed plan of activities that may be initiated by the concerned authorities to ensure its full implementation.

To drive active OSIS activities, national educational leadership is needed, namely leadership that requires a stable system, adequate funding, professional human resources and has the following requirements or characteristics: Devotion to God Almighty, high intelligence, have a strong physique, broad knowledge, self-confidence, can be a member of a group, fair and wise, firm and take the initiative, have the capacity to make decisions, have emotional stability, be physically and spiritually healthy. Based on the conditions that must be met to become an OSIS leader or administrator, it turns out that it is not easy, apart from having the will, ability and knowledge, apart from that you also have to be able to manage your time as well as possible so that lessons are not disturbed and go through several selections. OSIS as the only student organization in the school, is a means of organizational training and a forum for activities for students at school, so it can be concluded that the progress and development of school activities is very dependent on the OSIS work program, leadership attitudes and basic knowledge regarding good organizational management and activities. OSIS administrators who are guided by OSIS supervisors. Seeing this important role and position, the OSIS needs to be managed as well as possible. Organizations in general can be interpreted as providing a structure or arrangement, namely in arranging/placing people in a cooperative group, with the aim of placing relationships between people in terms of their respective obligations, rights and responsibilities, determining the structure, relationship of duties and responsibilities. It is intended to organize an activity to lead to a common goal. Discipline is an action carried out in accordance with applicable regulations or doing something in accordance with applicable norms. Decision Support System for the Presidential Election of the Student Executive Board Using the Multi-Factor Evaluation Process Method

Student Executive Board is a student organization or executive institution found in every tertiary institution and can represent the existence of a tertiary institution. The student Executive Board is headed by the Student Executive Board President, who is assisted by the Secretary-General, three Coordinating Ministers, and several ministries that represent student needs. In carrying out its function as a forum for student aspirations to make changes (agents of change) in paradigm, emotional, intellectual, and religious values, the Student Executive Board requires student candidates who are in synergy with their vision and mission. The Student Executive Board Presidential Election is usually held every year. A decision support system (DSS) was built by implementing the Multi-Factor Evaluation Process (MFEP) method to easily and efficiently elect the Student Executive Board President quickly and efficiently. The criteria used are communication skills (C1), leadership attitude (C2), vision and mission (C3), skills (C4), and organizational experience (C5). Each criterion is weighted where the total weight of all criteria equals 1. Next, calculate the evaluation weight value (EW), total evaluation weight (TEW), and ranking. The research results show that alternative 7 (A7), with the highest score of 4.35, is the student candidate with the top ranking, meaning A7 is the most recommended to be elected as President of the Student Executive Board. With this DSS, we can provide appropriate recommendations for Student Executive Board Presidential candidates and assist universities and students in carrying out the selection process quickly and efficiently.

Exploring Engineering Students’ Perceptions of Diversity and Inclusion in a Southern Public University: A Case Study

Understanding the present landscape of students’ perceptions and the representation of diversity and inclusion within engineering textbooks is paramount for the effective development and execution of diversity and inclusion initiatives. This case study, conducted in the College of Engineering at the University of South Alabama, aims to assess the current perceptions of diversity among its engineering students. The study encompasses three fundamental elements: textbook evaluations, comprehensive student surveys comprising 30 questions that explore various facets of the engineering curriculum, student organizations, and the workforce, along with in-person interviews. The summarized findings provide invaluable insights for faculty, instructors, and administrators, facilitating informed decision making and program enhancement in the realm of diversity and inclusion.

Menanamkan Nilai-Nilai Keorganisasian Bagi Siswa Smkn 4 Kota Bengkulu Dalam Pembangunan Pendidikan

SMK Negeri 4 Bengkulu City on Embedding Organizational Values for Students of SMKN 4 Bengkulu City in Educational Development. The targets of this activity are students of SMK Negeri 4 Bengkulu City who are active in the intra-school student organization (OSIS). The activity method is carried out directly (face-to-face) through exposure to organizational and leadership materials. This PKM activity is carried out in several stages, namely the preparation stage, observation stage, implementation stage, report writing stage, and activity evaluation stage. The results of this activity educate and instill organizational values for students of SMKN 4 Bengkulu City in educational development. This PKM activity is carried out to encourage and motivate students to be more active and foster a sense of belonging, solidarity, caring and develop creativity and innovations in organizations to improve students' soft skills and hard skills. So it is hoped that the achievements achieved by SMK N 4 Bengkulu City students will increase and have a role in the development of Indonesian education.

Competitive Foods' Nutritional Quality and Compliance with Smart Snacks Standards: An Analysis of a National Sample of U.S. Middle and High Schools.

Snacks and beverages are often sold in addition to meals in U.S. schools ("competitive foods"), but their current nutritional quality and compliance with national Smart Snacks standards are unknown. This study assessed competitive foods in a national sample of 90 middle and high schools. Differences in compliance by school characteristics were measured using mixed methods analysis of variance. Overall, 80% of the schools in the sample sold competitive foods; but they were less commonly available in schools with universal free school meal (UFSM) policies. A total of 840 unique products were documented and, on average, 75% were compliant with Smart Snacks standards. A total of 56% aligned with recommended added sugar limits (<10% of calories); and 340 unique products (40%) aligned with both sugar and Smart Snacks standards. Approximately one-fifth of competitive foods contained synthetic dyes, and 31% of beverages contained artificial sweeteners. Smart Snacks standards compliance was greater when competitive foods were overseen by food service departments, in comparison with others (e.g., principals, student organizations, or outside vendors [77% vs. 59% compliance; p = 0.003]). Therefore, district wellness policies should consider requiring food service departments to oversee competitive foods. Federal and state policies should limit added sugars, artificial sweeteners, and synthetic dyes. This appears to be highly feasible, given the substantial number of products that meet these criteria. UFSM policies should also be considered to support healthier school meal environments more broadly.

The state of citizen abilities in university students of Chile, Colombia, and Mexico

The educational field proposes to develop the most qualified professionals in all senses, not only academically. This includes the formation of citizenship skills that students must possess in order to train the professionals of the future. To measure civic engagement in university students, three Latin American higher education institutions joined forces. These were the Universidad de los Andes (Colombia), the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (Chile), and the Tecnológico de Monterrey (Mexico); through these joint efforts, a citizenship laboratory was created. This article was descriptive in scope, and the general objective was to describe the state of citizenship skills in university students. The methodology consisted of formulating an instrument, specifically a survey, which integrated 42 items; it was divided into socioemotional, citizenship and global skills. Subsequently, the data were processed using the statistical program R. The most relevant findings are that there is an area of opportunity, especially in terms of their participation in student organizations, in order to exploit their abilities as much as possible.

Student Management in Improving the Quality of Student Organizations

This study aims to describe student management in improving the quality of student organizations. This research uses a type of field research or field research with a phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data sources in this study are primary data sources and secondary data sources. Data analysis is carried out through three lines of activities: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. Test the validity of the data, namely tricoagulation of sources, techniques, and time. The focus of this study is to describe student management in improving the quality of student organizations. The results showed that student management promotes the quality of student organizations, namely from the planning stage, namely forming HDI management, organizing, recruiting, and selecting HDI members, implementation, compiling work programs, and supervision by the school. The importance of coordination between all stakeholders, such as teachers, school staff, management, and parents to ensure student programs run according to plan.

Analisis Mengenai Kependidikan pada MAS PAB 1 Sampali

MAS PAB 1 Sampali is located at Jalan Pasar Hitam No. 69 Sampali, Sampali Village, Percut SEI Tuan District, Sampali Sub-District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province. This private school is part of a complex or entrance gate with several other schools. Established and operating since 1988, MAS PAB 1 Sampali also has the best and most competent educators, administrative staff, and school administrators in their field. Learning support activities, such as extracurricular activities, student organizations, study communities, sports teams, and libraries, also help students learn to the fullest. In addition, the school also focuses on instilling noble character and developing students' talents in sports, arts, and other extracurricular activities such as student council, boy scouts, and flag raising troop. The facilities at MAS PAB 1 Sampali are also adequate, including special rooms for counseling for students who need it.

Peran Keikutsertaan Mahasiswa FISIP Universitas Teknologi Sumbawa dalam Organisasi terhadap Pola Pikir Kritis

This research discusses the influence of the participation of students from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Sumbawa Technology University in organizations on critical thinking patterns. The problem formulation that will be discussed in this research is the role of participation in organizations in changing the critical thinking patterns of students at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences. This research aims to determine the role of participation in organizations on changes in the critical thinking patterns of students at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences. This research uses a descriptive qualitative research method, namely describing the data as it is and explaining the data or events with qualitative explanatory statements to obtain in-depth information, as well as data that contains significant meaning and can influence the research object. This research produced several results. Students get the opportunity to develop thinking patterns, analytical thinking skills, as well as communication and negotiation skills. The participation of students from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences in student organizations that encourage debate and discussion activities provides important benefits. These discussions and debates train students in critical thinking, develop communication skills, and convey opinions clearly and persuasively.
