ANDROID APPLICATION FOR STUDENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM USING KOTLIN

Student Data Management System is an android application to store and manage student information in modern educational institutions[2]. Traditionally, it has been managed using pen and paper which is not very efficient. Hence the goal of the project is to create an android application for Student Management for storing and retrieving the data of students and faculty for efficient functioning of the academic institutions. The application is to be created with kotlin which is announced as the most favorable language for android developers by Google[5][6]. The data for the application is to be stored in the Android Room Database. User Interface is to be provided using v7recyclerview module, which provides efficient and user friendly layouts. A Smart Assistant allows students to ask queries and get answers from the application by text and voice is to be created using Alan App in kotlin. The users could manage attendance[1], marks and proceed in the track and required data will be stored and managed for future references too.

STUDENT DATA MANAGEMENT BASED ON INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IN MAN 1 PAMEKASAN

Student management can be interpreted as a management of all kindsrelated to students in schools starting from students registering, beingaccepted into school (acceptance of new students) until the studentsgraduate from the school. With student management, students will bemore focused and organized. Based on this, there are three mainproblems in the research, namely: First, how is the student datamanagement system at MAN 1 Pamekasan. Second, what are theinhibiting and supporting factors of the information technology systemat MAN 1 Pamekasan. Third, what are the solutions to overcomeobstacles in managing student data. This study uses a qualitativeapproach with a descriptive type. Sources of data obtained throughinterviews with the type of semi-structured, non-participantobservation, and documentation. Meanwhile, checking the validity ofthe data is carried out through extended observations and persistence ofobservations, and triangulation of sources and methods. The resultsshowed that: First, information technology-based student datamanagement at MAN 1 Pamekasan includes several things, namelytaking care of permits, preparing facilities and infrastructure. Second,one of the ways to launch the system is by having a strong internet andgiving directions to students. Third, one of the ways to expedite thesystem is to strengthen the internet and wifi and provide circulars tostudents so that there are no problems in managing student data. 

SISTEM INFORMASI PENGOLAHAN DATA SISWA BERBASIS WEB PADA RA AN-NASYWA (STUDI KASUS PENGOLAHAN DATA SISWA)

RaudhatulAtfhal An-Nasywa Kindergarten School is an early childhood education school that is 4-6 years old, currently RaudhatulAtfhal An-Nasywa Kindergarten is still doing it manually with books in managing student data and grades. So we need a student data management information system that can increase the speed and accuracy in processing student data. The basic purpose of making a student data processing information system is to make it easier to manage data. Making this student processing information system using system design and database design. The student data processing information system uses PHP MyAdmin as a data storage medium. Student data processing information system that will be used by administrators to enter the data needed to perform data processing. The final result of the research was found that by building an information system for processing student data at the RaudhatulAtfhal An-Nasywa Kindergarten School, it could be more helpful for the school where previously student data and other documents were still in conventional form.

An examination of student user experience (UX) and perceptions of remote invigilation during online assessment

This study aimed to understand the effects of a custom-developed, artificial intelligence–based, asynchronous remote invigilation system on the student user experience. The study was conducted over 3 years at a large Australian university, and findings demonstrate that familiarity with the system over time improved student attitudes towards remote invigilation. Positive experiences were found to be related to ease of use and convenience for test sitting. The majority of students reported that it was important for the institution to have approaches such as remote invigilation to discourage cheating and they believed that the system was useful in this regard. Perceived technical problems were found to invoke feelings of anxiety with being remotely invigilated, and students suggested that greater clarity on expectations of appropriate behaviour, privacy and data security would help alleviate discomfort and improve the system. Implications for practise or policy: Educators can improve the student user experience of remote invigilation by ensuring that students are provided the opportunity to practise and become familiar with using remote invigilation software before any summative assessment task. Administrators should provide clear policy guidance about the management of student data collected during remotely invigilated assessment tasks.

Perancangan Sistem Informasi Akademik Berbasis Web Mobile pada Pondok Pesantren Dar El Amir dengan Metode Waterfall

Dar El-Amir Islamic Boarding School is an Islamic boarding school that has been established since 2008 with a total of 140 students over time, a problem arose. Problems that are often encountered are related to the management of student data, teacher data, employee data, homeroom data and report cards which are still conventional, namely by writing using this paper, it can result in the emergence of larger duplicate data and damage to good data such as blurry writing or missing data. To solve these problems, an integrated academic information system must be made in order to facilitate data management and can be web mobile, meaning that it can be used on any device such as a laptop or mobile phone. This study uses the waterfall technique, this technique can be interpreted like a waterfall because there are stages that must be passed. The effect of studies that have been carried out by applying the waterfall technique shows that this academic information system can be useful for the management of student data, teacher data, tu staff data, homeroom data and report cards so as to make the data management process faster, more efficient and effective and help in the process dissemination of information related to the academic activities of Islamic boarding schools.

Data-Informed Educational Decision Making to Improve Teaching and Learning Outcomes of EFL

For many justifications, the collection, analysis, and use of educational data are central to the evaluation and improvement of students’ progress and learning outcomes. The use of data in educational evaluation and decision making are expected to span all layers—from the institution, teachers, students, and classroom levels, providing a longitudinal record of each student’s performance over time. Such records/data can play a crucial role by giving students, teachers, parents, and stakeholders a scalable and efficient platform that track performance and lead to informed valid enhancement decisions. This paper provides a description of a proposed tracking system. Developed by an English Language institute. It has multiple key features and processes that can monitor the progress of students from day 1 till completing their study. It is a comprehensive integration of student data management and a monitoring system. Such data makes it possible to see if students are achieving their academic goals and administrator could see, as soon as possible, if a student is not progressing. The system is also useful in helping the institute to plan their educational activities every semester and improve data communication between administrator, teachers, and students.

Developing School Information Program

This research aims to develop a student data management system at 9 Tapung Junior High School (SMP) Negeri 9 Tapung, which has not documented using a computer or school web using text-based programming languages like HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and PHP. The student information system design at SMP Negeri 9 Tapung in its manufacture uses a literacy methodology where each phase can be carries repeatedly until it gets the desired results. The phase of system manufacture is the investigation, analysis, design, and implementation. To make this application, the author uses PHP and MySQL. This development research results create a student information system application that can display school data, student data, which graphics form, and its development, including data on the development of honesty and discipline. The system also displays the student interests and talents observed, extracurricular activities, student violations, and achievement. This application still needs development, refinement, the addition of features, and suggestions, and criticism from all related parties to create a better and structured information system to improve the quality and character of SMP Negeri 9 Tapung.

PENGARUH MOTIVASI DAN KOMPETENSI TERHADAP PERUBAHAN PENGURUSAN DATA MURID DI SABAH

The study was conducted to determine the influence of motivation and teachers' competence towards change management of student data in Sabah. The change management of student data as the dependent variable. Teachers' motivation and principals of competence are the independent variables. This study was carried out using questionnaires instruments. The population of classroom teachers in Sabah is 6341 teachers. This study involving 402 classroom teachers comprising north zone, south zone, west coast zone, east coast zone, eastern zone in Sabah. The data were analyzed using the Statistical Package For Science (SPSS) version 21.0 to get accurate results.

PENERAPAN SISTEM INFORMASI MANAJEMEN DALAM PENGOLAHAN DATA PESERTA DIDIK DI MI NASRUL HAQ

Abstract: The purpose of this study are:1) To find out the implementation of the operational system of data processing of students by using a management information system in the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nasrul Haq Makassar . 2) To find out the data processing process of students in the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nasrul Haq Makassar. 3) To find out the impact of the use of management information systems on data processing of students in the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nasrul Haq Makassar . The type of this study is a qualitative field research using data collection methods, namely interviews, observation and documentation. Data processing of students in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nasrul Haq based on management information systems is carried out using the online EMIS application, the process of data processing of students in the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nasrul Haq follows four main steps, namely data collection, data input, information storage and retrieval to be used and the use of management information systems in the management of student data in Nasrul Haq Ibtidaiyah Madrasah provides benefits in the form of ease of data storage, information retrieval processes, data security and access to student information wherever and whenever needed.

Rancang Bangun Sistem Informasi Keuangan Dengan Pendekatan Instrumen Borang Akreditasi

STMIK STIKOM Indonesia, commonly called STIKI, is one of the private tertiary institutions in the field of information technology in Bali with a bachelor level (S1) program. All business processes in support of the academic community are carried out with computers and information systems. From student data management, Kartu Rencana Study (KRS), graduation, library to financial data using a computer system. Management of financial data on STIKI campus is under the responsibility of the Assistant Head II (WK2). Until now, financial management does use a computer system, but is limited to the use of the MS Office Excel application in its management. This has become a problem in the allocation of finance to the preparation of financial reports that lead to forms of study programs and institutions. With these problems will be designed and built a financial information system in the division of Assistant Head II STMIK STIKOM Indonesia that can help accounting staff in managing financial data and simplify the preparation of reports.

Student Data Management Information System Using the Zachman Framework

The purpose of this study is to find out student data management quickly and accurately which can produce information systems for use by schools, students, and stakeholders related to student data management. In the case of improper student data management, it can cause errors in decision making such as payments, student attendance and progress assessment to students. Method used in this study was qualitative technique and literature studies. Interview was conducted to support data analysis. The result showed that Zachman framework able to overcome the existing information system problems. With many perspectives on the Zachman architecture method in this study is expected to provide a significant solution for managing student data management in schools by preparing an integrated system in managing student data and developing data in the future

Problematic Student Identification and Visualization in The Counseling Activites

<p class="AbstractL-MAG">The counseling activities are procedures carried out by academic advisers to identify problematic students, especially in their academic learning process. Students are categorized as problematic when they do not submit their KRS, have a lower GPA than the college standard, have not yet paid their due, or receive warning letters owing to their misconducts. The current system provides every students’ data but academic advisers still need to identify every problematic students’ data one by one. A working solution would be to present the data in a visualization, so the problematic students along with their problem category can be identified automatically. The application employs the UML approach in its planning and web-based application development tools in its implementation. Highchart is implemented in the data visualization. The resulted application boasts the student data management feature to help the problematic student identification process. This feature automatically identifies the problematic students on each term by visualizing it in a colored charts and tables.</p>

Assessing the Value of an Information System for Developing Predictive Analytics: The Case of Forecasting School-Level Demand in Taiwan

Analytics is important for education planning. Deploying forecasting analytics requires management information systems (MISs) that collect the needed data and deliver the forecasts to stakeholders. A critical question is whether the data collected by a system is adequate for producing the analytics for decision making. We describe the case of a new education MIS in Taiwan, where the population of preschool children in different school districts is constantly changing. These changes challenge school resource planning, especially in terms of teacher hiring. The bureaus of education in charge of resource allocation are in need of accurate school-level one-to-five-year-ahead forecasts of the number of incoming first-grade classrooms. The Ministry of Education therefore launched a K–9 student data management system (k9sdms) that allows schools to directly update data on existing and prospective students. We evaluate whether using this system supports the goal of generating one-to-five-year-ahead forecasts, thereby assessing the value of the MIS for its intended usage. Using data until 2014, we developed a forecasting model for the number of first-grade classrooms at each school in Taiwan in 2015–2019. The quality of forecasts shows that k9sdms can produce valuable results, thereby achieving its purpose.

Cultural change through the implementation of an enterprise system

PurposeOrganisations spend a lot of money, time and resources on enterprise system (ES) implementation and often they do not realise the expected benefits from these complex systems. There is a gap in the literature in providing sufficient insight into the implementation process or how an ES might influence or contribute to a culture change. The purpose of this paper is to address the gap in the ES literature around culture by exploring the implementation that was undertaken within a large UK university.Design/methodology/approachThis paper contributes to the higher education (HE) and ES literature through an in-depth study of an ES, Strategic Information Technology Services (SITS) implementation within a university in the UK. The study was undertaken over a three-year period where one of the authors was embedded within the organisation.FindingsUsing a cultural analysis framework, the extensive rich data were analysed and the outcomes indicate that SITS has had a huge influence on the culture of the university; the technology’s rigid structure has imposed many changes that had not been anticipated.Originality/valueES have recently emerged in the HE sector where they are intended to support the management of student data and provide strategic management information. Although there are many studies which have explored important aspects of the implementation of ES, one area that appears to have been under-researched is how these systems are implicated in culture change within organisations. The results of this study will enable managers as well as IT specialists to gain rich insights into an ES implementation in the HE sector and to use this knowledge for future implementations.

Student data protection in a South African ODL university context: risks, challenges and lessons from comparative jurisdictions

Personal information is among the most significant assets for businesses today, and clear transactional rules are becoming increasingly important. Organizations, including universities, are charged with more responsibility than ever to protect the personal information used during the course of their business, specifically student data. The paper provides a broad contextual overview of the effects of data protection rules and presents a succinct, easy to digest introduction to the complex, often technical arena of student data management for universities. It highlights specific legal and ethical considerations on which universities, and particularly open distance learning institutions, will need to focus in order to ensure legislative and ethical compliance. Given the absence of precedent in South Africa, a comparative policy and practice review was applied to analyze available international legislation governing data privacy and protection to establish some of the trends, risks, and best practices.

Classifying Language-Minority Students: A Closer Look at Individual Student Data

This article presents an exploratory case study of site-level classification practices for language-minority students. The study examines individual classification data of 439 language-minority student cases from one California urban school district and two of its schools. The review process involved a thorough examination of data integrity, sources of inconsistencies, and implications. The aim of this work was to deconstruct and decode the unknowns associated with school and district site-level student classification practices to inform language-minority student policy and practice. Results of this study show that classifying language-minority students is particularly problematic, in part due to individual student data management systems at the school site level. This metrical work highlights the effects of how local sites classify their language-minority students and how critical this is for the students subjected to classification as well as policy and practice.

Emergent cultural change: unintended consequences of a Strategic Information Technology Services implementation in a United Kingdom university

Over the past 20 years, universities in the United Kingdom have been undergoing a dramatic period of transformation and change which can be attributed to the expansion of the higher education sector, the growth in student numbers and the development of an ideological approach to public service management referred to as ‘new managerialism’. The growth in student numbers has provided a challenge for universities, and many have adopted enterprise-wide information systems such as Strategic Information Technology Services (SITS) to support the management of student data in all areas of the university. This article explores through a three-year case study in a UK university how the introduction of SITS, an enterprise-wide student administration system, intended to deliver better quality student information, has had some unintended consequences for organisational culture, which include the expansion of new managerialism and the further weakening of academic status within the university.
