For this purpose, 300 elementary school students from fifth to sixth grade in Chungbuk were selected. The data analysis was conducted by descriptive statistics, t-test, and Pearson correlation analysis. The results of this study are as follows. First, the level of career maturity of elementary school students was moderate. In the sub-factors, the highest average was shown for the independence factor. Second, gender was not a significant variable affecting the career maturity of elementary school students. However, the sub-factors, objectivity and certainty, differed by gender. Female students showed higher mean score than male students in the objectivity. Male students showed higher mean score than female students in the certainty. Third, the career maturity of fifth graders was higher than that of sixth graders. The average score of fifth graders was higher than that of sixth grader in the objectivity and certainty. Fourth, career education experience was a significant variable that influenced the career maturity of elementary school students. The average score of students who experienced career education was higher than that of those who did not in the objectivity and independence. Fifth, career maturity had a significant positive correlation with sub-factors of career maturity. Based on the results of the above study, follow-up studies should be conducted to develop career education programs to improve career maturity of elementary school students and verify their effectiveness.
