Strategic Planning for Polytechnic Information Systems with an Enterprise Architecture Planning Approach

Higher education institutions in implementing information systems need strategic planning, especially for Polytechnics in Indonesia. It is intended that the application of the information system is in accordance with the vision, mission and objectives of the Polytechnic. The Polytechnic information system strategic planning uses the Enterprise Architecture Planning method. The Enterprise Architecture Planning method provides an overview of data architecture, application architecture and technology architecture from the application of information systems so that the Polytechnic is not wrong in implementing information systems. The result of this research is the form or formulation of information system strategic plan which is suitable for higher education especially for Polytechnic. The information system strategic plan consists of a data architecture, there are 41 entities, while for data and application architectures there are 8 application candidates. In addition, the results of the information system strategic plan in the technology architecture section to support the Polytechnic business processes are also built.

Virtual collaboration strategic planning process using balanced scorecard and critical success factors

The role of systems and information technology in the enterprise is to supporting operational business processes, decisions making process and implementing strategies for competitive advantage. The information system strategic planning processes required to align between business strategy and information system strategy. This research focuses on virtual collaboration that aims to harmonize business strategies and information systems strategies, especially in determining the implementation hierarchy of the proposed system up to the implementation roadmap. The method used to align business strategy and information system strategy is a combination of the balanced scorecard and critical success factors. The list of information system requirements generated continued as an implementation roadmap and then a multi-criteria decision support system with the fuzzy-ahp algorithm used to help the shortlist process. This result can be an alternative in the preparation of a collaborative implementation roadmap, taking into account the weighting of participants according to their respective perspectives. The next development of this research is building a complete virtual collaborative model in information systems strategic planning.

Peran Data Science dan Data Scientist Untuk Mentransformasi Data Dalam Industri 4.0

Technological developments in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, which places the role of Data Science and Data Scientist as tools to transform data into very important data, plus the need for Data Science and Data Scientist, which is very much needed in the midst of Industry 4.0 and is able to accompany increasingly large digital data in its management. This research aims to find out how big the role of Data Science and Data Scientist in transforming data in industry 4.0. This study uses the Research Area Coverage method because this research has shifted from various fields of science, with a method design with the SISP (Strategic Information System Planning) approach using steps such as data collection, condition analysis and interpretation. The data collection technique in this research is a survey and case study approach which is conditioned by the facts or facts that occur in the field. The results of the study show that the role of Data Science and Data Scientist is very much needed in industry 4.0 to perform very large data processing, with the capabilities and skills possessed by Data Science and Data Scientist being able to accompany digital technology that develops in industry 4.0.

Perencanaan Strategis Sistem Informasi Menggunakan Metode Ward and Peppard di Pengadilan Negeri Salatiga Kelas 1B

The Salatiga District Court Class 1B is a legal institution. Salatiga state courts used information systems in their business processes. The existence of an information system is a powerful weapon or tool in increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes in agencies. However, the IS / IT in the Salatiga District Court has not worked optimally which causes the performance to be less effective so that it requires proper IS / IT strategic planning. This study uses the Ward and Peppard method with SWOT analysis techniques. The value chain will produce information system strategy recommendations for internal and external environmental analysis, and information system application recommendation. The purpose of this research is to provide recommendations for IS / IT-related problems through strategic planning of information systems to identify IS / IT in the Salatiga District Court and to analyze IS / IT that can be used in the future to achieve an effective and efficient performance.

Strategy Planning for Rice Seed Producer’s Information System Using Anita Cassidy Method

Strategic planning of information systems on seed producers is an action that needs to be taken in order to maintain and make the business grow faster. However, such information system usually been created through the system development life cycle (SDLC) or other methods that appropriate for business. This study used Anita Cassidy method for strategic planning of rice seed producer’s information systems in XYZ Ltd., as case study. The following stages has been done, i.e. visioning, analysis, direction, and recommendations. The final results of the stages carried out recommend business applications that can be implemented, namely: Rice seed certification information systems, E-Commerce of Rice Seeds, Rice Type Determination Applications, Irrigation Control Applications, Paddy Pest Resolution Applications, Rice Growth Monitoring Applications, Personnel Information Systems, Payroll Information System, Procurement Information System, Financial Information System.

Strategic Planning of Information Systems Beauty Clinics with Ward and Peppard Model Approaches (Case Study: Virgina Aesthetics Company (Farina Beauty Clinic)

Virgina Aesthetic Company (Farina Beauty Clinic) is an organization or company engaged in the field of face and body skin care services. To be able to get a competitive advantage and be able to survive in tight competition, the strategy that can be done by a beauty clinic is differentiation and cost reduction. One of the things that can be done for cost-reduction is to make the business processes in the Beauty Clinic more efficient, one of the things that can be used for efficiency is Information Systems (IS) / Information Technology (IT). This research is an effort to build an information system strategic planning and application portfolio in the Virgina Aesthetic Company (Farina Beauty Clinic) that can provide optimal, well integrated and innovative contributions that can unite all supporting aspects in achieving clinical business strategies to increase its competitive value especially in health services.In preparing the information system strategic planning framework using the Ward and Peppard Model approach and in evaluating the elaboration of information systems strategic planning and business strategies using IT Balance Scorecard. Several analytical methods such as Value Chain Analysis, SWOT Analysis, PEST Analysis and Five Force Model Analysis are used to analyze internal and external business environments. Strategic Grid McFarlan Analysis is used to map the application portfolio. In the end this research resulted in a recommendation for the organization in the form of development priorities which were divided into two related matters, the establishment of an IS / IT unit and the development of an application portfolio that would support the sustainability of Virgina Aesthetics Company (Farina Beauty Clinic) Karawang.

Information System Strategic Planning using Ward and Peppard Methodology (Case Study: Nusatovel Salatiga)

In the current era of globalization, IS and IT are utilized to be able to compete and increase company productivity. Information system strategic planning is one of the keys in achieving the target expected by the company. NUSATOVEL PT has implemented an information system, but there are still some parts that have not implemented the information system. The information system strategy planning model uses the Ward and Peppard method with SWOT analysis, Value Chain analysis, and Mc Farlan's Strategic Grid. By using this method various factors that affect the company, both internal and external are analyzed to get a formula that is the basis for preparing a new IS / IT strategy in the form of an IS / IT portfolio, which can then be used as a strategic plan. Research using this method makes strategic planning for IS / IT that can provide recommendations or solutions to the development and implementation of IS / IT that is more effective and efficient for the company. The proposed information system strategy, namely Graphic Design SI, Customer Relations Manager SI, SI Services, can be implemented within the next 3 (three) years.

Information System Strategic Planning in PT XYZ Using Wetherbe's Methodology

Along with the development of technology in business, PT XYZ, which is engaged in the food industry, which is located in Sidomukti, Salatiga City is required to be adaptive and innovative by utilizing the availability of information technology. In order to win the competition, and information system strategic plan is needed to support the implementation of information technology and information systems in terms of operations as well as for strategic ones. Therefore, this research conducted by making strategic planning of information systems for use at PT XYZ using the Wetherbe methodology. This methodology is considered as an appropriate approach tool for the company. The solution for information system requirements is based on the strategic planning analysis that has been carried out, namely, producing nine information systems consisting of one information system to be developed from existing applications and eight information systems for the proposed application. And IT personnel are needed for the database and network server work or to carry out proper training for each employee so that if there is damage to the system and infrastructure it can be directly handled. This was done due to the condition of the number of human resources and limited funds for the strategic planning of information systems.

Strategic Planning of Information System in PT Satya Mitra Sejahtera Using Ward and Peppard

Increasing demand in every company for information systems strategic planning in order to increase efficiency, effectiveness and increase competitive advantage programmatically with a priority scale, given the information system resources and other supporting devices are still limited, so the existence of an information system strategic plan will help the company. One of them is PT Satya Mitra Sejahtera, which is engaged in business, which is currently not fully using information systems to its full potential. The quality of information systems becomes the most important component because it requires an analysis of the strategic planning of information systems to determine whether the information system that was developed can be used properly. In this study, the author will conduct an information system strategic planning using the Ward and Peppard method. This method was chosen because it can evaluate business conditions and information systems that occur at this time, by looking at the business environment and information system environment externally and internally. The Ward and Peppard method have several stages, the first stage of analyzing the internal and external business environment using the PEST and value chain. Analysis of the internal and external environment of information systems using SWOT, while the application portfolio mapping uses Mc Farlan Strategic Grid. The results of strategic design research using Ward and Peppard methods can produce maps of internal and external conditions of the organization, so that can find out the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats owned by PT. How Managers Use Information Systems for Strategy Implementation in Agritourism SMEs

Agritourism is long established and the interest in diversification of agricultural enterprises into tourism has increased. However, many challenges have emerged regarding the lack of appropriate skills, strategic planning, Information Systems (IS), as well as increased costs in production processes. In Greece, the contribution of agritourism to economic growth has increased in the last decade, but the relationship between the agricultural sector and agritourism is a reason for certain people having largely taken advantage from the development of tourism in a specific area. Greek businesses operating in the agritourism sector are seeking long-term sustainability. However, they lack strategic planning and effective use of IS. As the strategic implementation of Information Technology (IT) in Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the agritourism sector is under-researched, this paper aims to investigate how the process of Strategic Information Systems Planning (SISP) affects the success of Greek SMEs in the agritourism industry. IS executives completed the survey and ANOVA analysis was used for data analysis. The findings of the paper indicate that IS executives do not focus on the analysis of the external environment and the evaluation of opportunities for IS development. In addition, the lack of formulation of the IT strategy creates inefficient and unsuccessful IT projects.

Strategic Planning of Information Systems for Mosque in Indonesia

Anticipating the era of Society 5.0, communities and organizations are required to have integrated and comprehensive information access, including the management of mosques in Indonesia. This study aims at providing a strategic planning in the form of a portfolio for future application of mosques management information system services. This study was conducted with reference to Ward and Peppard’s strategic plan for information systems, which included SWOT analysis, critical success factor method and McFarlan’s strategic grid. The results showed the mosque management must have several applications, mapped into 4 quadrants (strategic, high potential, key operation, and support). It is expected that this application portfolio can help managers of mosques in Indonesia provide faster, more accurate, and more accountable information.

The final result of this research in the form of strategic planning recommendations of information systems will be useful to improve the information system in PT. Enterprise Architecture Planning Using TOGAF Version 9 (Case Study Of Badan Pengelolaan Pendapatan Daerah Kab.Sumedang)

Bappenda currently utilizes Information Systems as the main driver in its activities which include the process of registration, data collection, determination, acceptance, billing, and reporting, in supporting its activities Bappenda needs to have an Information System strategic planning that can identify computer-based application portfolios in carrying out business processes, by therefore we need a tool that can be used to provide a basic organizational structure for the company as a whole using Enterprise Architecture. The method used in architectural planning is The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), which can provide techniques on how to build, manage and implement enterprise architecture and information systems called the Architecture Development Method (ADM). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of the TOGAF method in Bappenda can improve the performance of the system applied by a percentage of 57.29%. The suggestion for implementing TOGAF in Bappenda is to be able to develop gradually according to the existing stages in TOGAF and explain how to find an organization's enterprise architecture specifically based on business needs and processes

Dinas Pekerjaan Umum dan Penataan Ruang (DISPUPR) is an organization that has authority, duties and responsibilities for developing, maintaining, and providing basic infrastructure services to the society of Bali. DISPUPR Bali Province uses Information Systems (IS) as a tool for solving problems. Strategic planning of information system (SPIS) is needed which will plan and analyse a system that suits the needs of the DISPUPR Bali Province. In the compiling of SPIS, Anita Cassidy’s method was used. SPIS analysis was divided into 4 phases namely, Visioning Phase, Analysis Phase, Direction Phase, and Recommendation Phase. In the visioning phase, an analysis to the internal and external situations of the business processes of the Bali Provincial DISPUPR was. The analysis used in this phase were Value Chain, SWOT Analysis, Critical Success Factor (CSF), and PEST analysis. The second stage was the Analysis Phase, in which the analysis was carried out on the existing IS in DISPUPR Bali Province both in terms of internal and external. The Direction Phase constituted the phase in which direction would be determined in the decision making of the SI development plan based on the SI recommendations that had been formulated previously, the compiling of the vision, mission of information systems carried out in this phase. The last one was the recommendation phase, in which the compiling of the roadmap and the compiling of cost estimates were carried out at this stage. All phases and analysis had been passed so then 17 information systems were obtained that were expected to support the achievement of the vision and mission of the Governor of Bali. This SPIS document is expected to be a blueprint from compiling of IS in the DISPUPR Bali Province.

Private Universities in South Sumatra Province currently use information systems and information technology in their business processes, but the use of these technologies has not been optimal, resulting in not achieving competitive advantage in running business processes. In this research, the Information System Strategic Planning will be formulated to be implemented in PTS South Sumatra Province with a case study at the Indo Global Mandiri University (UIGM) Palembang. The Information System Strategic Plan that is compiled is oriented to the vision and mission of the organization to align information systems and information technology with the business strategy that is carried out. The Information System Strategic Plan applies the Price Waterhouse Cooper framework, so that this research produces the Strategic Plan Information System in the form of a portfolio of future applications to meet the needs of Private University information systems. The Information System Strategic Plan is expected to be included in the formulation of a business strategic plan so that it can solve the problems faced by Private University.

PT Mono Jaya is one of the companies engaged in the production of wigs that are in Kroya, Cilacap district, Central Java. To increase competitiveness against its competitors, companies must be able to create new innovations and use information systems that are in accordance with the needs of the company as a support to improve performance, increase competitiveness against its competitors, and realize the company's goals. But to get an information system that fits the needs of the company, it requires an information system strategic planning.  M Group is a company engaged in the field of pharmacy, eye health and food. Along with the rapid growth of the company there are problems of how to make use the Information Technology department as optimal as possible and how to build a blue print of it strategy in handling a variety of issues and programs or initiatives to support the company's business strategy? This study aims to produce a strategic plan for information technology M Group. The research method used is John Ward and Joe Peppard’s framework for strategic planning of information technology and Scott A. Bernard’s Enterprise Architecture documentation. This study uses SWOT analysis, IT Balance Scorecard and Cost Benefit Analysis as a strategic tool to analyze the needs of Information System on M Group. After conducting the analysis then the Information System(IS) strategic planning is propose for M Group for next years (2020), which includes business strategies IS, IS / IT Management Strategy, Information System(IS) strategy and future application portfolio.
