The reform of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) is a national strategic agenda aimed at improving professionalism, accountability, and the overall quality of public services. The success of this reform is not solely dependent on structural or regulatory changes but is strongly influenced by internal organizational factors such as strategic human resource management (HRM), member integrity, training quality, and perceptions of organizational justice. This study analyzes the contributions of these four variables to the effectiveness of Polri’s reform by employing a literature review method based on research published within the last decade. The findings reveal that strategic HRM plays a crucial role in establishing transparent, objective, and competency-based personnel development systems. Member integrity serves as a moral foundation that guides professional behavior and prevents the misuse of authority. Moreover, high-quality training aligned with operational demands enhances officers’ technical skills, discipline, and adaptability in addressing modern security challenges. Perceived organizational justice significantly influences motivation, job satisfaction, and officers’ commitment to institutional reform. Overall, these variables interact and collectively strengthen an organizational culture rooted in ethics, competence, and accountability. The study concludes that the success of Polri’s reform cannot be achieved solely through structural adjustments but requires a profound transformation in human resource management as the fundamental pillar of institutional improvement.

The article examines marketing logistics as an integrated management system within transport enterprises, emphasizing its role in creating sustainable competitive advantages through the effective management of flows and delivery of services that preserve consumer value. In modern economic conditions, traditional isolated application of marketing and logistics tools often fails to ensure the achievement of strategic objectives, particularly under circumstances of high uncertainty, resource limitations, and disruptions in supply chains, such as those experienced during martial law. Marketing logistics emerges as an integrative mechanism that combines market-oriented approaches with process- and flow-oriented logistics, aligning demand generation with the enterprise’s operational capabilities. A critical review of domestic and international literature reveals a lack of unified conceptual understanding of marketing logistics. Foreign studies tend to interpret it from a logistics perspective, emphasizing operational efficiency and physical distribution, while domestic research increasingly views it as a comprehensive, integrative system that coordinates marketing and logistics decisions to achieve long-term competitive advantages. The article classifies approaches to marketing logistics into three groups: functional-distributional, integration-oriented, and value-oriented (synthetic), reflecting its evolution from a narrowly operational function to a strategic management concept. The study offers a conceptual generalization of marketing logistics as an integrated management system under conditions of high uncertainty. The study identifies key objectives and tactical tasks of marketing logistics, including ensuring full and timely satisfaction of consumer demand, optimizing logistics costs, maintaining service quality, enhancing resilience, and supporting sustainable development and digital transformation. The article further delineates the core functions of marketing logistics — analytical, planning, organizational, coordination, control, and value-oriented — demonstrating their integrative nature in harmonizing marketing and logistics processes. Comparative analysis highlights that marketing logistics not only delivers physical products but also generates additional value for the consumer by balancing service levels with operational efficiency. The findings underscore the relevance of marketing logistics as a holistic management tool for transport enterprises operating in dynamic and uncertain environments. Prospects for further research include the development of digital, data-driven, and adaptive approaches to enhance efficiency, resilience, and sustainability in marketing logistics processes.

Strategic management plays a key role in supporting research and consulting activities at entrepreneurial universities. This study presents a process-based view of micro-interactions between middle and top managers, developing an understanding of how these interactions shape strategic decisions. We analyzed an inductive case study of strategy meetings held at a Scandinavian entrepreneurial university over a 12-month period. The study identified two different patterns of managerial interactions: cooperative constellations and oppositional constellations. Contrary to our expectations, we found that oppositional constellations, which emphasize urgency are more effective at driving successful outcomes. Cooperative constellations are more likely to result in delayed implementation of project tasks. The study contributes to the literature on strategic management at entrepreneurial universities by highlighting the importance of perceptions of urgency in managerial interactions.

Both genetic and environmental factors affect human stature, including overall height and familial short stature (FSS), and it is associated with various health outcomes. However, the study of genetic connections between stature and health conditions remains lacking in East Asian populations. Hence, we conducted parallel genome-wide association studies (GWAS) of body height and FSS in the Han Taiwanese population, aiming to elucidate the genetic influences of stature on health and facilitate the formulation of precision-health strategies. We analyzed large-scale GWAS data on adult height (120,301 Han Taiwanese) and FSS (FSS; 2,050 cases, 27,966 controls) to examine cross-trait genetic correlations across five East Asian biobanks, and applied phenome-wide association studies (PheWAS) and polygenic risk score (PRS) analyses to assess clinical outcomes using Cox proportional hazard models and Kaplan-Meier analyses. We identified 293 loci for height and five for FSS, with cross-biobank genetic correlations linking stature to body size, lung function, and cardiovascular/reproductive traits (atrial flutter/fibrillation [AF], menarche, and endometriosis). PheWAS showed that height PRS increased risks of AF and endometriosis, while FSS PRS had a protective effect against endometriosis. MR analyses showed that taller stature increased AF risk independently and endometriosis risk through menarche/weight, while shorter stature had a weak protective effect against endometriosis. Survival analyses showed the association of higher height PRS with greater AF risk and an earlier divergence of cumulative incidence curves. These time-to-event patterns were consistently replicated using meta-analysis-derived PRSs. The findings highlight stature-related genetic determinants, associated health outcomes, and polygenic risk scores as effective tools for early risk prediction and precision health strategies in East Asian populations.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are long-lasting organic pollutants which have toxic, mutagenic, and carcinogenic effects, making them of significant concern for both environmental and human health. This study determined the PAH levels in soils around the Rajiv Gandhi Thermal Power Plant, Khedar, Hisar (Haryana, India). Among 16 USEPA PAHs, 9 were detected. Descriptive statistics used in the study revealed that the concentration of Σ9PAHs in soils varied from 3354 to 44,648μgkg-1 with a mean of 7513.51μgkg-1. Diagnostic ratios (LMW/HMW = 0.61) revealed the prevalence of high-molecular-weight (HMW) PAHs, which validated a signature of combustion. The correlation patterns suggested a common pyrogenic source for most of the PAHs, with DahA suggesting another, sporadic one. PCA revealed two major source categories, coal-fired emissions and traffic contributions. Overall, the study reveals that 39 soil samples collected from the agricultural lands around the thermal power plant are dominated by high-molecular-weight PAHs. The lack of a big traffic route, as well as industrial activities in the area, indicates little impact from other sources. As a result, the PAH profile is primarily explained by pyrogenic sources, which can be attributed to the emissions from the thermal power plant. The ecological and carcinogenicity risks of PAHs in soils surrounding the RGTPP area were assessed by applying the risk quotient approach and the toxic equivalency approach. Some of the PAHs had risk levels above safe levels, and when they are combined, the ecological threat is very high. There is an imperative necessity for strategic management and remediation of the PAH polluted soil in the surroundings of RGTPP.

Purpose: to systematize scientific knowledge about digital twins (DT), considering their potential as a tool for digital modernization of socio-economic systems within the innovation-driven economy, with an emphasis on identifying key trends, terminological discrepancies, and factors of interdisciplinary development. Methods: the methodological basis includes bibliometric, comparative, and content analysis of publications indexed in ScienceDirect and eLibrary (2000–2024). Classification, systematization, thematic modeling, and interpretation were applied. The analysis considered quantitative and qualitative indicators: publication dynamics, terminology, disciplinary orientation, and national research traditions. Results: a steady growth of publications was established, especially over the past 5 years. Most studies are concentrated in engineering, computer science, and medicine, reflecting the technological orientation of the discourse. Differences between international and domestic publications were found in terminology, priorities, levels of interdisciplinarity, indicating asynchronous development and limiting transfer of engineering solutions into the socio-economic sphere. A classification of application areas and a taxonomy of implementation methods of digital twins were developed, supporting terminology unification and guiding applied research. At the same time, significant untapped potential was revealed in managerial and organizational-economic practices – from logistics and maintenance to strategic planning and sectoral digital programs – making digital twins an important instrument of modernization in the innovative economy. Conclusions and Relevance: the analysis confirmed the high potential of digital twins for integration into management processes, strategic planning, and industry programs within the innovation-driven economy. The practical significance of the study lies in creating a unified knowledge base for strategic management and modernization of the innovative economy. The future research should focus on terminology institutionalization, development of interdisciplinary models, and empirical case studies of technology implementation.

This study investigates the interplay between temporal and emotional dynamics during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic at a public hospital in the Grand Est region of France, and their influence on strategic crisis management. We use the concept of concert time to analyze how temporal structures and temporal work were reconfigured under conditions of extreme urgency and uncertainty. Our qualitative case study is based on interviews with twelve hospital decision-makers and a range of internal and external documents. The findings reveal that in the absence of established routines, emotionally charged real-time coordination became central to collective action. Concert time encouraged a sense of alignment, cohesion, and togetherness among staff, enabling more effective decision-making. In contrast to dominant narratives that frame crisis emotions primarily in terms of fear or anxiety, our study highlights the mobilizing role of shared positive emotions—such as pride, moral purpose, and collective enthusiasm. These emotions served not only to support resilience but also acted as a mechanism for temporal coordination. However, the findings also point to the fragility of emotional alignments, which often dissolve when emotional labor is left unrecognized after the crisis. By examining how time is experienced as a lived phenomenon and how emotions function as organizational forces, this study contributes to emerging literature that foregrounds the constitutive role of emotions in decision making and coordination during crises.

Wetlands provide a wide range of ecosystem functions and services. However, anthropogenic activities in wetlands have led to changes in biophysical attributes that are rarely investigated, especially in the tropical inland valley wetlands (IVWs), likely due to their small sizes. The major objective of the study was to assess the effects of anthropogenic activities on Nalwekomba IVW (Uganda) biophysical features. This was achieved through the use of scores for impacts of three categories of human disturbances at 13 sites to obtain stress index scores and relative disturbance levels, in addition to measured environmental variables. Agriculture (denoted as AD) and grazing (denoted as GD) disturbances were the major contributing factors at 76.9% and 23.1%, respectively, of the sites. At > 10% impact rating, the relative disturbance level was higher for ADs in 39%, other human disturbances (31%), and least for GDs in 15.4% of the site. At ≥5% to < 10% impact rating, relative disturbance was high for GDs in 61.5% of the sites, ADs and ODs in 46% and 23% of the sites, respectively. Sites impacted by grazing and other human activities were significantly different (Kruskal-Wallis rank sum test, p<0.005). Mean values for surface-water- depth of 0.29±0.10m; DO-2.56 ± 1.12 mg/l; pH- 7.26±0.26 and Temperature-26.99± 4.81℃ did not reflect effects on water quality. The higher electro-conductivity values of 932.79± 300.53µS/cm and total dissolved solids-467.75± 149.70 mg/l may signify a high gradient of impact. Though the impact scores reveal low anthropogenic wetland disturbance (observed at 53.8% of the sites), strategic management is recommended to lessen the modification and ensure environmental integrity of the Nalwekomba inland valley wetland.

This study aimed to investigate the real-world efficacy of combining Pembrolizumab with Nimotuzumab in patients with Recurrent/Unresectable/Metastatic HNSCC and to analyze the impact of p16 expression on treatment outcomes. The study included 86 patients: 41 received Pembrolizumab monotherapy, and 45 received Pembrolizumab plus Nimotuzumab. Patients were divided into four groups based on treatment and p16 status, analyzing OS, PFS, and ORR. With a median follow-up of 30.2 months, the combination therapy showed a significantly higher 6-month ORR, longer 1-year PFS and OS compared to monotherapy. Additionally, the combination therapy group notably improved 6-month ORR, 1-year PFS rate, and 1-year OS rate in p16-negative patients when compared to monotherapy. However, there was no significant improvement in ORR, PFS, or OS in p16-positive patients. Adverse events occurred in 61 patients (70.93%), with incidences of 68.29% in the monotherapy and 73.33% in the combination group, showing no statistically significant difference (p > 0.05). The combination of Pembrolizumab and Nimotuzumab demonstrates a notable enhancement in ORR and OS, maintaining a dependable safety profile. Differential p16 expression in HNSCC patients may influence the efficacy of immune-combined targeted therapy, highlighting the importance of considering p16 in the formulation of therapeutic strategies.
