Placement of peripherally inserted central catheter through upper versus lower limb vein in neonates: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.

Peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) is an important treatment for the drug and nutrition administration in neonates. We aimed to evaluate the effects and safety of PICC placement through upper versus lower limb vein in neonates, to provide insights into the clinical PICC nursing care. A meta-analysis. We searched the Cochrane Library, Web of Science, PubMed, Science Direct, China national knowledge infrastructure, Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform, China Weipu Database, China Biomedical Literature Database for published randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on the placement of PICC via upper limb and lower limb venipuncture. Two reviewers independently evaluated and cross-checked the quality of the included studies in accordance with the quality standards of the Cochrane Manual. We used RevMan 5.3 software for statistical processing. A total of 12 RCTs were included in this meta-analysis. Meta-analysis indicated that compared with upper limb veins, PICC insertion through lower limb veins is beneficial to increase the one-time puncture success rate (relative risk [RR] = 0.73, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.68-0.79) and the indwelling time (mean difference [MD] = -3.60, 95% CI: -5.35 to -1.86), reduce the operation time (MD = 10.37, 95% CI: 7.48-13.26), estimated bleeding volume (MD = 0.55, 95% CI: 0.34-0.75), incidence of catheter ectopia (RR = 2.46, 95% CI: 1.81-3.35), PICC-associated infection (RR = 2.82, 95% CI: 1.65-4.83), exosmosis (RR = 2.45, 95% CI: 1.49-4.04, p < .001) and phlebitis (RR = 1.40, 95% CI: 1.03-1.90). No significant difference in the Incidence of catheter obstruction between the upper and lower limb veins (RR = 1.20, 95% CI: 0.73-1.97, p = .48) was found. There are certain advantages in neonatal PICC puncture through the lower limb vein. The lower limb vein may be the preferred choice for neonatal PICC puncture.

Bibliometric Study on Hair-related Products Containing Natural Extracts

The purpose of this study is to examine emerging trends in hair-related natural materials. For the methode of studying, text mining was carried out utilizing the statistical processing software R studio to examine the relationship between terms. With the use of this, we were able to extract the document's essential phrases and identify those that appeared frequently. As a result, the phi coefficient analysis was used to determine the terms with relatively high relevance as well as the groupings linked with "natural," "extract," "hair loss," "damage," "dyeing," and "growth." Six categories were constructed in the correlation network graph, and it was determined that the categories with the greatest concentration among them were hair growth, hair damage, and hair dyeing. The publishing type, year of publication, study method, and research subject of theses and journal theses were examined using the findings of this study. Trends were also discovered, and variations in research themes by year were compared and studied. According to the research, the quantity of papers in the topic of beauty has steadily increased since 2007, and this rise in quantity demonstrates the field's development on the academic front. Among these, it was discovered that a number of dyeing-related study results were linked to a number of dyeing-related negative effects. With regard to the study methods frequently employed in the beauty industry, the majority of papers on effect studies, characteristic studies, and impact studies—all of which were readily available—were relatively few in comparison to the number of clinical studies and actual condition studies, both of which had limited research progress. This demonstrates that although research topics are fairly equally dispersed throughout articles on different subjects, the development of study method inside the academic system is biased rather than uniform. In conclusion, investigations on natural substances that are effective on hair are increasing steadily between 2001 and 2021. This demonstrates how the view of natural materials is improving across a variety of areas and how actively research is being done to determine their usefulness.

The Impact of Religious Beliefs and Practices on Coping with Health Challenges Posed by Covid-19

In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, the aim of the present study was to investigate to what extent the undergraduate students of the Department of Dentistry, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, felt the need to come closer to their own religiosity, spirituality, or faith. Materials and methods: Empirical research was conducted by means of an anonymous questionnaire, comprising demographics and items focusing on religiosity, spirituality, and faith. The survey results were processed using “MICROSOFT EXCEL IBM SPSS STATISTICS 24” statistical processing software. Results: To overcome health dilemmas, the wide majority of students did not focus on religious &amp; spiritual practices (70% &amp; 66.7%) while at the same time, their religiosity &amp; spirituality was not enhanced (74% &amp; 78%). However, for the same period, 53% of the students stated that their faith was enhanced. Conclusions: While overall students’ religiosity &amp; spirituality indicators were low, for the same period they stated that their faith in overcoming health distress was strengthened, which triggers new questions and prompts further research in the field of humanities.

Financial Stability, Monitoring, and Replacement Directors on Fraudulent Financial Reporting

An issue of concern is fraudulent financial reporting, which has the potential to cause significant economic losses to investors and the government, as well as a loss of investor trust because it may lead to investors making poor investment decisions. With fraudulent financial reporting as a dependent variable, this study's primary goal is to investigate the empirical financial stability, monitoring, and replacement of company directors, all of which are used as proxies for the pressure, opportunity, and capability elements of fraudulent financial reporting. The banking industry makes up the majority of the study's participants. Purposive sampling was used to select 123 companies for the research sample; panel data regression was used as the statistical method, and EViews 10 was used as the statistical processing software. There was a correlation between fraudulent financial reporting and monitoring in this study, but not between financial stability and the replacement of board members of directors.

PENGARUH PERSEPSI KONSUMEN TERHADAP KEPUTUSAN PEMBELIAN PRODUK (Studi Pada Konsumen Minimarket Parabot Mart Sumbawa Besar)

This study aims to determine the effect of consumer perceptions on product purchasing decisions at the Parabot Mart Sumbawa Besar Minimarket. The type of data used in this study is quantitative data directly from research respondents through questionnaires. The ulation in this study is all consumers or customers who shop at the Parabot Mart Sumbawa Besar Minimarket whose number is not known with certainty. Considering that the population in this study is not known with certainty, the sampling in this study used a non-probability sampling approach with incidental sampling so that the sample in the study amounted to 100 respondents. Data collection in this study was carried out through a questionnaire or questionnaire. All data were processed using SPSS statistical processing software and analyzed using simple linear regression analysis techniques, partial hypothesis testing (t test), and determination coefficient test (R2). The results of this study indicate that consumer perceptions have a positive and significant effect on product purchasing decisions at the Parabot Mart Sumbawa Besar Minimarket. The degree of influence of consumer perceptions on product purchasing decisions at the Parabot Mart Sumbawa Besar Minimarket is 74.4%, while the remaining 25.6% is influenced by other variables beyond the reach of this research.

The Effects of Rural Residents' Sleep Quality on the Incidence of Agricultural Injuries: A Meta-Analysis.

To collect relevant literature on the impact of rural residents' sleep quality on the incidence of agricultural injuries, the search time range is 1990～2019. We use RevMan 5.3 software for statistical processing. A total of 7 articles were included. Meta-analysis showed that sleep quality was closely related to agricultural injury. The combined effect was 1.49, 95%CI [1.31, 1.70], Z = 5.93, P < 0.00001. The difference was statistically significant, so poor sleepers had a higher incidence of agricultural injuries than good sleepers. Sleep disturbances and agricultural injuries are two common and significant health problems. Investigations suggest that sleep might increase the risk of agricultural injuries. The aim of the present study was to systematically review and meta-analyze the predictive effect of sleep on agricultural injuries.

MO737EVALUATION OF EXTRAVASCULAR FLUID IN HEMODIALYSIS PATIENTS BY LUNG ULTRASOUND IN COMPARISON WITH BIOIMPEDANCE

Abstract Background and Aims The aim of study was to compare the lung ultrasound (LUS) and bioimpedance analysis (BIA) as methods to assess the hydration (fluid) status in maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients. Method The comparative analysis was performed in 87 MHD patients aged 24 to 82 years (43 women, and 44 men). Patients with cardiac pacemakers and permanent catheters as vascular access were excluded from the study. Extravascular lung water (EVLW) in MHD patients was assessed simultaneously by LUS (Acuson X150 ultrasound system with a CH5-2 curvilinear transducer, Siemens) and by the bioimpedance spectroscopy (BIS) (Bodystat Multiscan 5000) with frequency range of 5-1000K Hz. Both LUS and BIS were performed before and 30 minutes after the hemodialysis (HD) session in the second and third sessions of the week. Ultrasonic measurements were performed by summing LUS comets or B-lines along four anatomical lines (parasternal, mid-clavicular, anterior, middle, and posterior axillary lines) from II to V intercostal spaces on the right and from the II to IV intercostal spaces on the left. The quantitative assessment of B-lines (B-lines score, BLS) was performed according to Picano E. et al. [2006]: normohydration – zero degree (&amp;lt;4 B lines) with the absence of EVLW, overhydration (OH) – 1st degree (5-14 BLS), 2nd degree OH (15-30 BLS), and 3d degree OH – &amp;gt;30 BLS with an insignificant, moderate and severe amount of EVLW, respectively. The body hydration status assessment technique by BIS was based on the overhydration (OH) index, the total body water volume, extra- and intracellular water, and the body composition. Patient's fluid status classified as normohydration (1.0-1.0 L), moderate OH (&amp;gt;1.0-&amp;lt;2.5 L), and severeOH (&amp;gt;2.5 L), and dehydration (&amp;lt;1.0 L) [Henry C. Lukaski et al., 2019]. The LUS do not allow assessing the state of dehydration, therefore, the normohydration by LUS was the sum of normo- and dehydration by BIS. We used SPSS Statistics 21.0 software for statistical processing of the data. To assess the correlation between BLS and OH indicators, we used Spearman's rank correlation coefficient. The statistical significance level was assumed to be 0.05. Results Data of the body fluid status using LUS and BIS before and after HD-session fully coincided in 33 of 87 MHD patients, partially coincided in 20 patients before and in 25 patients after HD-session. LUS and BIS didn’t coincide completely in only 9 patients. Statistically significant correlation was revealed between BLS and OH before (Rs=0.336; p&amp;lt;0.01), and after (Rs=0,317, p&amp;lt;0,01) HD session. A positive correlation between BLS and OH data was revealed in 53 patients, whose results were almost identical before (Rs=0,488, p&amp;lt;0.01), and in 58 patients after (Rs=0,658, p&amp;lt;0.01) HD session. Conclusion BIS remains the gold standard for the assessment of over-, normo- and dehydration in MHD patients. LUS is a simple and adequate technique for assessing the hydration status in MHD patients, and it is comparable to BIS in assessing over-, as well as normohydration. However, the LUS doesn’t allow diagnosing the body dehydration.

Culicidae Larvae and Their Seasonal Dynamics in the Region of Fez-Meknes, Morocco

RésuméObjectifDans le cadre de la prévention des maladies vectorielles au centre du Maroc, une étude de la fluctuation saisonnière de la biodiversité culicidienne a été menée de novembre 2015 à novembre 2016 sur quatre sites de reproduction situés dans la ville de Fès au centre du Maroc (Jnan EL Alami, barrage de Lgaâda, Awinat Elhajaj, Source Douwar Lhandiya). L'étude visait à améliorer les connaissances sur la dynamique saisonnière et la période d'activité des moustiques culicidiens, afin de cibler la période de lutte.MéthodesLes larves ont été collectées par la méthode du dipping à un intervalle de 15 jours, au moins une fois par mois. Les analyses statistiques ont été réalisées à l'aide de la version 3.6.1 du logiciel de traitement statistique R.RésultatsAu cours de cette étude, neuf espèces ont été trouvées avec de fortes variations mensuelles et saisonnières du nombre de chaque espèce et d'un site à l'autre. Les espèces prédominantes sont des vecteurs de maladies: Culex pipiens, Cx. perexiguus, Cx. theileri, vecteurs connus du virus du Nil occidental, suivis par Anopheles maculipennis s. l. et An. sergentii qui sont les principaux vecteurs du paludisme au Maroc. Cx. pipiens et Cx. perexiguus ont atteint la plus forte densité en septembre, tandis que Cx. theileri a été trouvé en grand nombre en février et peut donc émerger à la fin de l'hiver et au milieu du printemps. Le nombre le plus faible d'An. sergentii a été collecté en novembre, mais il a augmenté en septembre, octobre et décembre. An. maculipennis s. l. est apparu en juin, avec des récurrences en mars et juillet. Culiseta longiareolata a été trouvé au printemps et en été et en abondance en juin. Cependant, Uranotaenia unguiculata n'était présent qu'en septembre et octobre. An. cinereus et Cx. hortensis étaient tous les deux présents en novembre et février.ConclusionLes résultats obtenus seront un outil important pour la gestion et le suivi de la prolifération des Culicidae et pourront être utilisés pour améliorer l'efficacité de la gestion de la lutte.

Behavioral Study on the Use of Cosmetics and Skin-Care Products among Female University Students in their 20s

Purpose: To correct misperceptions about makeup use among younger age groups and to support opportunities for education, this study analyzed makeup use and skin-care behavior among young people in their 20s. Methods: A survey was conducted among 130 female students living in Seoul/Gyeonggi Province concerning general characteristics, skin knowledge, and behavior. Frequency analysis was applied to the survey data using SPSS WIN 12.0 software for statistical processing. Result: Most of the surveyed females in their 20s used base (foundation makeup) to cover defects, and there was wide recognition that warm water should be used when washing the face. Use of a professional facial cleanser improved facial skin appearance. Because of the financial burden, however, most participants usually used self-administered skin-care. Facial massage and packs were widely used self-care treatments, and most respondents believed these treatments to be effective. The most common causes of side effects from cosmetic products involved the cleaning of cosmetic tools (p=0.022) and skin-care methods (p=0.005). Conclusion: This study provides guidelines for young cosmetic product users to overcome misinformation, incorrect usage and bad habits related to cosmetic products. This paper also provides information to a variety of cosmetic products, and by applying information, students could experience lower incidence of skin trouble when using cosmetic products.

Effect of intra-abdominal hypertension on the strength of the postoperative scar of a laparotomic wound

Annotation. One of the main factors of postoperative eventration is intra-abdominal hypertension, which occurs in various surgical pathologies of the abdominal cavity. Despite the presence of a large number of scientific papers on the negative effect of intra-abdominal hypertension on the morphological state of granulation tissue in the area of the laparotomy wound, there are no publications on the impact on the strength of the postoperative scar. Therefore, the study aimed to investigate in an experiment on small laboratory animals the effect of intra-abdominal hypertension on the mechanical strength of the postoperative scar of a laparotomy wound. The experiment was performed on 120 laboratory rats, which underwent a median laparotomy and brought together the edges of the musculoaponeurotic layer of the anterior abdominal wall with simple nodal sutures. The main group consisted of 72 animals who developed intra-abdominal hypertension by inserting a container (condom) with a certain amount of Furacilin into the abdominal cavity. The comparison group consisted of 48 animals who had an empty condom inserted into the abdominal cavity after laparotomy. The mechanical strength of the postoperative scar of the laparotomy wound was determined by the method of G. V. Petrovich (2010) on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th day after the creation of intra-abdominal hypertension, by measuring the level of intra-abdominal pressure at the time of rupture of the postoperative scar of the laparotomy wound. Statistical analysis of the results was performed using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and a package of statistical processing software PAST. Differences between study groups were determined using Mann-Whitney criteria. The results of the study indicate that the created intra-abdominal hypertension leads to a decrease in the mechanical strength of the postoperative scar of the laparotomy wound. The degree of the negative impact of intra-abdominal hypertension on the strength of the postoperative scar is inversely proportional to the level of intra-abdominal pressure.

Geospatial meteorological and climatic data services application programming interface

At present, it becomes necessary to develop software for Earth science data repositories instead of downloading data to computational servers and workstations. This is especially important taking into account the upcoming volume of big environmental datasets. WPS (Web Processing Service) is an OGC standard for distributed geospatial data processing services. The WPS services provide access to geospatial data processing packages including statistical processing software tools. The main goal of this paper is to present an approach that provides a unified access to the web processing services developed for climate and meteorological research based on the latest technological and scientific achievements. Based on the “OGC API-Processes” standard, a Web API Climate is proposed to provide a uniform access to the “Climate” platform (http://climate.scert.ru/climate/environment/v3.0a-demo/) geospatial services. The Climate Web API provides a software basis for an advanced development and use of the “Climate” platform web processing services aiming at climate change studies at regional and global levels. A correct implementation of the specification will form a solid foundation for further development of desktop client applications in the form of GIS plugins, as well as universal Web-GIS clients easily embedded into thematic virtual research environments.

Different dose of heparin in preventing radial artery occlusion after transradial coronary angiography: A protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.

Background:When atherosclerosis occurs in the coronary artery, resulting in stenosis, occlusion, or spasm of the coronary artery, the supply of blood and oxygen to the myocardium will be reduced or even unavailable, resulting in myocardial necrosis and heart pain, chest tightness, dyspnea and other symptoms caused by myocardial necrosis are collectively referred to as coronary atherosclerotic heart disease. Coronary angiography can not only understand the degree of coronary artery damage, but also estimate the prognosis of coronary artery stenting, which provides a reliable reference for clinical treatment. Transradial coronary angiography (TCA) has the advantages of high success rate, small trauma, less complications, no bed rest, reduce hospital stay and other superiority, which accepted and used by physicians. Although the success rate of surgery is high, the postoperative complications will still affect the effect of surgery and the prognosis of patients. The main manifestations are radial artery occlusion (RAO), forearm hematoma formation, pseudoaneurysm formation, periosteal compartment syndrome, radial artery perforation, etc. Among the many ways to prevent RAO, anticoagulant therapy with common heparin is one of them, but the dosage of heparin is not clear. Therefore, we decided to use systematic evaluation to evaluate the clinical effectiveness and safety of different dose of heparin in preventing of RAO, and to provide clinical basis for the early prevention and treatment of RAO.Methods:Two reviewers independently searched PubMed, Embase, the Cochrance Library, Web of Science, Medline, CBM Disc, CNKI, and WANFANG Data to find the eligible research. The retrieval about the randomized controlled trials of different dose of heparin in preventing the occurrence of RAO after TCA in recent years. The retrieval time is set between January 1990 and June 2020. The retrieval language is Chinese/English. Two researchers independently searched, managed and screened the literature through the search terms. When the 2 parties have inconsistent opinions on the inclusion or not of certain literature, the literature will be referred to the third researcher for discussion and decision. The included studies are conducted bias risk assessment through bias risk assessment tool, which based on Cochrane Handbook 5.0. The extracted data uses RevMan5.3 software for statistical processing.Results:The research results of this systematic review will be published in peer-reviewed medical-related academic journals.Conclusion:This study adopts the Meta-analysis method and expands the sample size, which will give high-quality evidence-based medicine evidence on the clinical effectiveness and safety of different dose of heparin in preventing the occurrence of RAO.Trial registration number:OSF, DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/CPXJ3.

Contribution to the floristic and ethnobotanic study of the most utilized medicinal plants in the Sétifian Tell (south of the Tamentout forest) east Algeria

This study aims to know the natural heritage of the Tamentout forest through a floristic inventory made in several cantons and to evaluate the uses of traditional medicine in the Sétifian Tell, by conducting an ethnobotanical study at the level of several localities in the region. A quantitative and qualitative analysis of the listed flora identified 101 plant species, which are divided into 38 families and 97 genera. An important representation of the Asteraceae (19%), Fabaceae and Lamiaceae families (11%) are noted. The floristic study emphasizes the presence of several biological types, with a codominance of hemicryptophytes (with 42%) and therophytes (31%). The Mediterranean floristic element constitutes the most important chorological ensemble (52%). The ethnobotanical survey was conducted among 82 informants, with a total of 290 questionnaire cards. All the results were processed by statistical processing software: Excel 2007 and IBM SPSS Statistics version 23. These results showed that the leaves are the most used part (43%) and that the methods of use are prepared in the form of infusion (25%), poultices (18%), and decoction (11%). The most common forms of use are herbal tea (46%), powder (25%), and essential oil (19%). The oral route is the most widely used route of administration (51%). The most common pathologies are those of the digestive system (20%) and the respiratory system (18%). This study made it possible to identify the diversity of the flora of the Tamentout South Slope forest and list its traditional care and consequently to contribute to the conservation of the Mediterranean pharmacopeia that is being lost.

Estimation of ecological adaptability and stability of the promising winter barley varieties in a competitive variety testing

There has been estimated the ecological adaptability and stability of winter barley varieties in the conditions of the Rostov region. There were studied 4 varieties and 6 lines of winter barley developed in the FSBSI “Agricultural Research Center “Donskoy”. The estimation was conducted according to the S.A. Eberchart, W.A. Rassel method (1966, ed. by V.A. Zykin), using a statistical processing software Statistica 10 and Excel. During the years of study (2017-2019), the environmental conditions varied significantly, which allowed reliably estimating the environmental adaptability and stability of the studied varieties and lines. The analysis of adaptability and stability resulted in identification of such responsive varieties as ‘Marusya’ and ‘Yerema’, as well as the line ‘Parallelum 1976’ with linear regression coefficients more than 1. The varieties ‘Marusya’ and ‘Yerema’ were the best ones among the studied varieties and lines, showing high and stable productivity over the years of study. According to the study results the variety ‘Vivat’ showed a sufficiently high level of adaptability. The variety ‘Timofey’ and the lines ‘Parallelum 1979’, ‘Parallelum 1981’, ‘Pallidum 1972’ showed a sufficiently high level of stability.

재무설계 상담특성과 재무설계사 서비스품질이 재무설계 성과와 만족도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Financial Planning Counseling Features and Financial Planners’ Service Quality on Financial Planning Performance and Satisfaction)

Korean Abstract: 본 연구는 재무설계 경험자들이 평가한 재무설계 상담특성 및 재무설계사 서비스품질이 재무설계 성과와 만족도에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다. 실증분석을 위하여 서울특별시와 6대 광역시에 거주하면서 재무설계를 경험한 20~50대, 총 405명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였고, 경제활동을 하지 않는 학생과 하나의 직업군으로 묶기 어려운 기타 직업군을 제외한 뒤 최종 365부를 분석에 사용하였다. SPSS 23.0 통계프로그램을 사용해 분석하였으며 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 성별, 월평균 저축액, 상담료 지불여부, 대응성과 기술성 서비스품질이 재무적 성과에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 거주지역, 상담희망정도, 신뢰성과 기술성 서비스품질이 비재무적 성과에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 연령, 신뢰성, 대응성, 기술성 서비스품질이 재무설계 만족도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구가 갖는 의의를 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 상담횟수, 상담기간, 상담료 지불여부, 보고서 수신여부 등을 포함하여 재무설계 상담특성을 구체적으로 살펴보았다. 둘째, 재무설계에서 가장 중요한 역할을 차지하는 재무설계사를 중심에 두고서 연구를 진행하였다. 본 연구가 갖는 한계점을 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 척도의 문제이다. 보다 체계화된 재무설계사 서비스품질에 관한 척도가 개발 되어야 할 것이다. 둘째, 일반화의 문제이다. 본 조사는 온라인 패널단을 통해 이루어졌기 때문에 컴퓨터를 사용하는 사람들로만 표집되어 연구결과를 일반화하기 어렵다. English Abstract: This study examined the effects of financial planning counseling features and financial planners’ service quality on the financial planning performance and satisfaction, as evaluated by those who experienced financial planning counseling. For empirical analysis, a survey was conducted on 405 subjects, who were in their 20’s~50’s, living in Seoul and six metropolitan cities in Korea, and had an experience with financial planning counseling. A final 365 questionnaire copies were used for the analysis, excluding students who did not engage in economic activity and those whose occupation was difficult to classify into a single category. The data were analyzed using SPSS 23.0 statistical processing software. The findings are as follows. First, gender, mean monthly savings, counseling fee, responsiveness, and technical service quality had an effect on the financial outcomes. Second, area of residence, preferred level of counselling, reliability, and technical service quality had an effect on the non-financial outcomes. Third, age, reliability, responsiveness, and technical service quality had an effect on the satisfaction with financial planning counseling. The significance of this study was as follows. First, based on the researcher’s 20 years of field experience, this study performed an in-depth examination of the features of financial planning counselling, specifically in light of the counseling features, including the number of counselling sessions, counseling period, counseling fees, and reception of reports. Second, this study has significance given the paucity of related literature focusing on financial planners, whose role is the core in financial planning counseling. The limitations of this study were as follows. First, it was matter of scale. A more systematic measure of service should be developed. Second, it was a matter of generalization. Because this survey was conducted through an online panel, it is difficult to generalize the results of the research because only people using the computer were sampled.

Help for Personal Work: Who are the Real Actors?

On a recent thesis supported analyzes the real actors in charge of personal work assistance in seven colleges in priority education. A questionnaire distributed to 1638 middle school students focuses on the different support systems and the actors who fight against failure, school dropout, and inequalities. How much does personal work help to different stakeholders? Is the discourse on externalised aid as a means of reducing inequalities and social justice justified? The theoretical framework is the work of Houssaye (2011), Maubant (1999), Meirieu (1998) and Zakharchouk (2011). The results of the statistical processing software Spad 7 show the various actors involved in helping school work, of which a very significant proportion of families from working-class background deconstruct prejudice on the alleged resignation of these categories of population.

Pembelajaran Quantum Teaching Meningkatkan Minat Belajar Aqidah Akhlak Bagi Siswa Madrasah

This article aims to determine the intensity of the implementation of quantum teaching, the interest in learning Aqidah Akhlak. This type of research is field research and includes quantitative research. Data obtained through observation, questionnaires and documentation. Data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially, using statistical processing software. The results of this study were, (1) The intensity of the implementation of Quantum teaching, was in the low category. (2) The interest in learning Aqidah Akhlak learners (variable Y) is in the high category. (3) The results of the hypothesis test concluded that there is an effect of quantum teaching on the learning interests of Aqidah Akhlak MTs students in DDI Manahilil Ulum Kaballangan Islamic Boarding School Pinrang Regency. The implications of this study are, it is expected that educators, to always strive to be professional educators by attending seminars, training, workshops, comparative studies to institutions that are central to learning Quantum Teaching.

Metabolic Syndrome in Psoriasis among Urban South Indians: A Case Control Study Using SAM-NCEP Criteria.

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the skin associated with increased cardiovascular morbidity. Metabolic syndrome is a significant forecaster of cardiovascular events. To assess the association of metabolic syndrome and its components in patients with psoriasis and to compare it with the age and sex matched control group. We conducted a hospital based case-control study on 156 adult patients with chronic plaque psoriasis and 156 patients with skin diseases other than psoriasis. Height, weight, BMI, blood pressure and waist circumference were documented in all the subjects. Fasting levels of serum glucose, serum triglycerides and serum HDL were estimated by automated clinical chemistry analyzer. The South Asian modified NCEP ATP criterion was used for the diagnosis of metabolic syndrome. Statistical analysis of the data was done using statistical processing software (SPSS-17). Metabolic syndrome was significantly more common in psoriatic patients than in controls (28.8% vs 16.7%, p=0.01). Hypertriglyceridemia was significantly more prevalent in cases than in controls (34% vs 20.5%, p=0.008). The reduced HDL levels also showed a significantly high occurrence among cases (27.6% vs 13.5%, p=0.002). Moderate increase of blood pressure was seen among cases as compared to controls but the difference was not statistically significant (p=0.1). Impaired blood glucose and abdominal obesity were similar in both groups. Smoking and alcoholism did not influence the association of metabolic syndrome with psoriasis. There was no correlation of metabolic syndrome with severity and duration of psoriasis. Our findings suggest that metabolic syndrome as well as dyslipidemia is common in psoriasis patients among urban South Indians. This study highlights the need for screening at diagnosis and regular follow up of the metabolic aspects of the disease along with the skin lesions.

Prevalence of metabolic syndrome in patients with psoriasis: A hospital-based case control study from a tertiary care center in Andhra Pradesh

Background: Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease of skin and joints affecting 1-3% of the population. Psoriasis may act as an external indicator of underlying immunological and metabolic dysregulation. Previous studies found higher prevalence of metabolic syndrome in patients with psoriasis, the former being a significant predictor of cardiovascular disease. Aims: We aimed to study the prevalence of metabolic syndrome and its individual components in patients with psoriasis and to determine the relationship of disease duration and severity with metabolic syndrome. Materials and Methods: A hospital-based comparative study was conducted involving 100 patients with psoriasis and 100 age- and sex-matched controls. Metabolic syndrome was diagnosed by the presence of three or more criteria of the National Cholesterol Education Program Adult Panel III (ATP III). Statistical analysis of the data was done using statistical processing software (SPSS 17). Results: Metabolic syndrome was significantly more common among patients with psoriasis than among controls [42% vs 22%, odds ratio (OR) = 2.5674, P Conclusion: Metabolic syndrome is more common in patients with psoriasis than in the general population. As most of the studies from India as well as the rest of the world are proving this association, psoriasis can be considered as one of the markers of metabolic syndrome.
