СІМЕЙНИЙ БІЗНЕС УКРАЇНИ: РОЛЬ ОСВІТНЬОГО СЕРЕДОВИЩА У ФОРМУВАННІ ПРОФЕСІЙНИХ КАДРІВ

Education as a purposeful cognitive activity of people to acquire knowledge, skills or competences, or their improvement, is considered by us as one of the key factors on the way to legitimization and further development of family business in Ukraine. To implement these issues, it is necessary to develop national curricula, determine the qualification standards of specialists relevant to this field of activity and to distinguish the definition and concept of "family business" in a separate area of domestic research. The purpose of family business research in any country is to study the patterns of family business development, to identify its national characteristics, problems of functioning, causes of their emergence and to identify effective strategies for solving problems in the context of global trends. We have explored the timeline of professional education in family business in the world, and found that this process began in the late 1980 s. The Matrix of Disciplines and Knowledge has been published on the recommendation of the Family Firm Institute (FFI). The main components of the educational environment of Ukraine in the professional training of family business professionals have been identified, systematized and characterized. We can say that the training of family business professionals in Ukraine is carried out mainly through business schools, distance learning, self-study, transnational education and stakeholders, in the complete absence of vocational, higher and postgraduate education. Higher professional education is capable of securing the acquisition of a complex of competencies as the realizing abilities of future specialists in family business. The national science is obliged to supply topical theoretical material for educational programs, to develop the methodology of family business research, to provide open access to practical results in accordance with the scheme "science - education - family business". Effective work of the scientific and educational communities is a decisive factor in the formation of professional staff for the country's family business.vironment in the formation of professional staff.

Liberalization of Taxation as a Prerequisite to Forming a Pleasure Economy: Special Tax Regimes, Tax Holidays and Family Business Taxation

This research is aimed at identifying the prospects and developing recommendations for the optimisation of liberalisation of taxation as a prerequisite to forming a pleasure economy. The methodologies of this paper include a time-series analysis method (using regression and correlation analysis), as well as a survey method (for the collection of empirical data not available from official statistics). It has been proved that liberalisation of taxation is a prerequisite to forming a pleasure economy. However, the beneficial effect of liberalisation of taxation associated with increased happiness of entrepreneurs may vary; in particular, it can be zero and even adverse. As exemplified by contemporary Russia, an overall reduction of the tax burden on business is the least preferred option for liberalisation of taxation. Being intended to fully cover the entire business, it does not increase happiness of entrepreneurs.

E-waste Awareness and Management Among People Engaged in E-waste Selling, Collecting, Dismantling, Repairing, and Storing Activities in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Associated with the increasing demand and supply of short life-span electrical devices, e-waste generation is rapidly increasing. This created a special business for some informal groups: dismantlers, e-waste sellers, repairers, and storekeepers. The objective of this study was to assess the awareness, management strategies, and associated influencing factors among the central role players of the e-waste-related business. A cross-sectional study was used to assess the awareness and management of 345 purposely selected e-waste workers including all those who are actively engaged in e-waste buying, selling, dismantling, storing, and transferring. A questionnaire was used to obtain the required information. The findings show that about 92% of the dismantlers, 70% of the sellers, and 55% of the repair and maintenance workers have poor awareness. The awareness level of the respondents is strongly associated with the newness of the issue ( V = 0.64) and lack of concern ( V = 0.44), and moderately associated with educational status ( V = 0.31), their lack of access to information (0.31), job type (0.28) and income level (0.26). The e-waste management among the study groups was limited to unsafe disposal (50%), unsafe storage (36%), and transfer (14%) to other users. The analysis showed that there is a statistically significant association between their job type and management systems (chi2 (6) = 139, P < .005, V = 0.45). Cramer’s V ( V = 0.45) shows a strong association between their job type and the e-waste management strategies. The awareness level of the respondents is very poor and influenced by several complex factors. During the study period, no study groups were practicing any of the proper e-waste management at all.

Strateški odgovor preduzetnika na ograničenja COVID19 - ukrajinsko iskustvo

COVID-19 quarantine limitations and their effects on business lead to unpredictable environment changes, which require appropriate entrepreneurs' strategic response. COVID-19 quarantine limitations dramatically affected specialized businesses, which had to adopt for the new environment requirements. COVID19 especially influenced small and medium size entrepreneurs, which are specialized in one industry. Considering the peculiarities of integration and diversification as priority strategies for business development in the new reality, the article proves that specialization in goods or services in one industry for small and medium enterprises is risky and can lead to the bankruptcy of such businesses. Based on official statistics, the changes in Ukrainian small and medium companies' performance during years 2019-2020 were studied across industries. The gathered data provide evidence that companies which specialized in one industry or business activity suffered from the crisis most of all. According to the forecasts, COVID-19 will affect the economy over a number of years. That is why business has to adopt for the new reality. Using diversification strategies for small and medium size businesses is recommended in order to survive and grow.

The Law Enforcement of Environmental Law against Illegal Mining

The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze law enforcement against illegal mining in Indonesia. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that illegal mining law enforcement is an unlawful act, regulated by Act No. 4 of 2009 concerning Mineral and Coal Mining, the threat of punishment is regulated from Articles 158 to 165. Administrative law enforcement in illegal mining crimes by the authority law enforcement is carried out in a preventive manner. Supervision in law enforcement of mining administration in a limited manner has been regulated as stipulated in the provisions of Article 39, Article 78 and Article 79 concerning Mining Business Permits (IUP) or Special Mining Business Permits (IUPK). The signs contained in the Mining Business Permit (IUP) or Special Mining Business Permit (IUPK), are obligations that must be carried out by the recipient of the Mining Business Permit (IUP) or Special Mining Business Permit (IUPK), and if a violation is committed, the official who issuing the permit has the right to impose sanctions. Based on this suggestion, it is hoped that there will be coordination and integration between relevant agencies, in particular to carry out socialization activities for legal counseling regarding Act No. 4 of 2009.

Sustainability analysis of ornamental plants farming in Makassar

Abstract This study aims to analyze the sustainability index of each dimension of ecology, economy, social, and technology as well as identify sensitive attributes that determine the sustainability of ornamental plant farming in Makassar. The rapid appraisal for program modified from rapid appraisal for fisheries program using the multidimensional scaling (MDS) method was used as the analytical instrument. MDS ordination analysis results showed the sustainability index value of each dimension, namely ecology (37.30), economic (40.90), social (31.74), and technology (34.33) were categorized as less sustainable with an average index value of all dimensions was 36.07. The leverage analysis visualizes that 9 out of 17 attributes has shown to be sensitive attributes that affect the business sustainability of ornamental plant in Makassar, namely frequency of crop waste management, water sources, utilization of plant waste, market scale, profitability, business land status, company registration certificate, use of modern technology, and frequency of environmentally friendly technology usage. Government should provide special business zones for ornamental plant so that all ornamental plant farmer in Makassar can be grouped into one zone. Furthermore, it can increase gross regional domestic product, employment opportunities, and opening up opportunities of other industrial sectors growth.

The specifics of innovation in tourism in the new normal

Continuous data update on current trends and development perspectives, consumer preferences and innovative solutions in Travel & Tourism requires flexibility and a complex integrity-based approach using Agile and simultaneous development of the content and its verbal component, and compact packaging of new knowledge. The choice of precedent sources of professional and thematic aspect of linguistic knowledge is subject to the principles of integration teaching and functional conditionality for further realisation of activity-communicative needs of future specialists in international hotel-tourism business. The research findings in changing tourism business models and terminology are packed in a cumulative matrix of impact factors, newly formed customer segments and emerging business models.

Legal Certainty Special Mining Business License (Study: IUPK as a Continuation of Contract of Work and Work Agreement for Coal Mining Exploitation in the Minerba Law)

After the promulgation of Law Number 3 of 2020 many people highlighted the addition of Article 169A which explains the guarantee of extension through special mining business license (IUPK) for holders of the contract of work (KK) and work agreement for coal mining exploitation (PKP2B) which will expire. However on the other hand this Article also creates unrest for KK and PKP2B holders because the granting of extensions through the IUPK is not automatically granted but with considerations that have been explained in the law. The formulation of the problem raised in this study is about the legal certainty of granting IUPK and legal protection for KK and PKP2B holders if the application for extension through IUPK is rejected by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. This study uses a normative juridical research method namely through a literature study with a statutory approach. The results indicate that there was no legal certainty from the IUPK as a Continuation of Contract/Agreement Operations and no legal protection for KK and PKP2B holders if the extension through IUPK is rejected by the relevant Minister. The provisions regarding these rules in the current Minerba Law must be explained more clearly in the Government Regulation regarding Minerba in order to provide legal certainty and protection for mining business actors.

The company must have a Mining Business Permit,a Special Mining Business Permit (IUPK),and Business Permit to Transport and Sell Coal.One of the decisions regarding the criminal act of abusing mining business permits is in the decision Number:550/Pid.B/LH/2020/PN.Tjk.The problems in this study are what are the factors causing and how judges consider criminal acts to provide opportunities for other people to use Mining Business Permits (IUP),IUPK and Business Permits to transport and sell coal.Decision Study Number:550/Pid.B/LH /2020/PN.Tjk).This study using secondary data sources and primary data.Factors causing the crime to provide opportunities for other people to use IUP,IUPK,and Business Permits to transport and sell coal were carried out by the Defendant because the Defendant was a worker who was ordered by his superior named Limanto to submit documents on behalf of PT.Prisma Jaya to the truck driver for transport and deliver coal.The judge's consideration of criminal act provides an opportunity for other people to use the IUP,IUPK and business permits to transport and sell coal where the Judge gives a verdict that the defendant is subject to imprisonment for 10 months and the Defendant remains detained and determines that the Defendant is burdened with paying court fees in amount of Rp.5,000.00.

ECONOMIC IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON AIR TRAFFIC INDUSTRY: CHALLENGES IN CROATIA

By the end of September, 2020 total worldwide number of Covid-19 infections has surpassed 34 million inhabitants, while the number of deaths caused by health pandemic crisis stands at more than one million. It’s predicted that the year 2020 will see about 10 percent drop in economic growth compared to the previous year. Different macroeconomic scientific and professional authors in their forecasts agree that the worse scenarios will be suffered by global and regional tourism industries together with air transport industry. The consequences of Covid-19 on air transport results in 2020 compared to results in the last three decades are analysed on four different levels - worldwide, European, South-East European and Croatian aviation achievements. Besides, the correlation between the global touristic and air carriers’ results in last three decades is considered in the paper with adequate conclusions. IATA monitors developments related to the Coronavirus outbreak, publishes industry statistics and analysis of COVID-19 impacts on the financial and traffic performance and produces outlook for the global air transport industry. According to its latest forecast, full-year 2020 traffic is expected to be down by 66% compared to 2019 while revenues are expected to fall by even more than demand. ICAO has prepared few models and analyses of final business results with different magnitudes on air transport industry recovery. Special attention and business details in the paper are devoted to the Croatian air transport situation in light of Covid-19 with conclusions, suggestions and proposals for future survival and development scenarios, including appropriate actions and measures as well as state, regional or local financial support. The activities and measures taken by Croatia Airlines can be characterized as an example of good practice in the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic and are articulated as guidelines for the operations of regional airlines in the mentioned conditions.

The Opportunity of Applying Digital Currency in SEKEM community Egypt

This paper examines the opportunity of applying digital currency in a sustainable community called SEKEM, where SEKEM is always encouraging innovation practices that focus on developing their community in a sustainable way. A framework has been suggested by utilizing readymade SEKEM MIZA extracted from Cyclos 4 system after redesign according to proposal framework targets, then making initial survey to measure questionnaire reliability which exceed 0.8. A descriptive research methodology utilized to identify the success opportunity of applying such framework in SEKEM community by questionnaire survey designed for such purpose on a convenient sample of 114 respondents. It was found that applying digital currency in such community will lead to explore opportunities to reduce the cost of living and education for community respondents and also add value to SEKEM as a special business pattern.

Social Entrepreneurship Canvas Business Model to Improve Family Welfare: A Case Study of the Culinary Business of “Special Fried Quail” at Purwareja Klampok Banjarnegara

This study aimed to develop an entrepreneurial canvas model through evaluating the nine components of the canvas business model to support the empowerment and welfare of culinary business’ members of the Special Fried Quail in Purwareja Klampok District, Banjarnegara and to develop a social entrepreneurship business model. The research strategy was a quantitative case study with an evaluation method. Data collection techniques were carried out using a questionnaire. The analysis model used a Logic Model framework (input, activities, output, and outcome) and a canvas business model. The results of the evaluation research showed that the business model’s orientation was more incline towards commercial business. As its implication, the Special Fried Quail culinary business model’s development in the future would be more directed to the social entrepreneurship business model in order to improve family welfare.

FEATURES OF TEACHING HUMANITIES IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS FOR FUTURE SPECIALISTS IN HOTEL AND RESTAURANT BUSINESS AND TOURISM

We have considered the features of professional training of specialists in the hotel and restaurant business and tourism. In the analysis of the curriculum, we appear to find a place in the training of future specialists in hotel and restaurant business and tourism in the study of humanities, namely: "Ukrainian language for professional purposes", "World culture and art", "Foreign language for professional orientation", "Fundamentals of professional ethics and culture of communication", and other. During the course, participants of the educational process must make efforts to form a communicative culture, critical thinking and aesthetics of speech. Future masters of hotel and restaurant business and tourism must be at a high level of management of communicative culture and content to think critically. The humanities cycle subjects basing on the text, with the help of which educational activities are carried out, training of future specialists of hotel and restaurant enterprises and tourism takes part in professional texts that help students accumulate professional terminology and form professional skills. We concluded that introducing elements of the dual system of education is a positive trend in the training of hotel and restaurant professionals and tourism. Students can assimilate and improve communication culture, see bottlenecks and make an effort to correct and improve themselves.

Is there a role for an embedded knowledge specialist in an organisation like an Academic Health Science Network? A retrospect of a one year pilot

Health Education England advocates for the introduction of more embedded knowledge specialist roles within healthcare organisations to save healthcare staff time ensuring that evidence from research, examples of good practice and learning from staff know-how and organisational knowledge are used to inform policy and practice. In 2020, a pilot was established to explore how a knowledge specialist role could bring benefits to the specialist business of an Academic Health Science Network in the South West of England. Using the structure of a retrospective learning after technique, this paper explores the rationale for the pilot, considers what was actually achieved despite the COVID-19 pandemic and examines reasons for successes and disappointments. Four key lessons are gathered that can be applied by anyone introducing a new knowledge management or embedded knowledge specialist service. The study concludes by outlining the unique contribution that an embedded knowledge specialist brings to the team to produce a tailored knowledge management service that saves staff time, keeps staff informed and connected while evolving to meet the ever changing priorities of complex healthcare organisations.

The Globalization and Business Performance of Corporate Value Chain

Purpose - This paper empirically investigates the relationship between the corporate value chain and performance of non- financial businesses of South Korean stock market companies. It aims to explore the evidence that can be used to infer the relationship between value chains and corporate performance in the case of firms forming a value chain with other companies with the means of an equity investment or a special business relationship. Design/methodology - Non-financial corporations listed from 2011 to 2017 on the securities market of South Korea are analyzed. The data used for analysis are found for transactions with the related party by year for all the corporations of non-financial industries in the securities market. Multiple analysis attempts are conducted including the relationship between the value chain and productivity, corporate value, risk-adjusted corporate value, and mediation effects of productivity. The empirical model employs sixteen variables including the value chain index which identifies its impact on various aspects of business performances. Findings - The results of this study clearly supports the phenomenon that corporate productivity and value are enhanced when the corporation expands its value chain established with domestic related firms and overseas companies. Such a positive effect is statistically significant even after the possible risk factors that accompany the expansion of value chain were considered, and productivity plays the role as a medicating variable in the effect of the value chain on the corporation values. Originality/value - The findings of this study confirms that domestic companies’ expansion of their value chain centered on the related firms overseas that helped them in terms of the maximization of their productivity and corporate values. This study shows that Korean government’s policy on expanding the corporate GVC can enhance the productivity and value of firms. The expansion of value chain and its impact on business performance has not been explored thoroughly, although it is getting more and more important in the global trade operation.

Measuring the contribution of specialist vocabulary knowledge to academic achievement: disentangling effects of multiple types of word knowledge

This study investigates the idea that knowledge of specialist subject vocabulary can make a significant and measurable impact on academic performance, separate from and additional to the impact of general and academic vocabulary knowledge. It tests the suggestion of Hyland and Tse (TESOL Quarterly, 41:235–253, 2007) that specialist vocabulary should be given more attention in teaching. Three types of vocabulary knowledge, general, academic and a specialist business vocabulary factors, are tested against GPA and a business module scores among students of business at a college in Egypt. The results show that while general vocabulary size has the greatest explanation of variance in the academic success factors, the other two factors - academic and a specialist business vocabulary - make separate and additional further contributions. The contribution to the explanation of variance made by specialist vocabulary knowledge is double that of academic vocabulary knowledge.
