Analysis of Eco-Theology Understanding of Islamic Boarding Schools in North Sumatra

This study aims to analyze the understanding and application of eco-theology in Islamic Boarding Schools in North Sumatra. Eco-theology connects religious teachings with human responsibility towards environmental stewardship, and in the Islamic context, it is based on the teachings of the Qur'an and hadith. The research used a qualitative method involving direct observation and in-depth interviews with Islamic Boarding Schools in the South Tapanuli region. The findings indicate that although Islamic Boarding Schools serve as pillars of religious education, the implementation of eco-theology concepts remains limited, particularly in terms of environmental management, such as river cleanliness and sanitation practices. The study concludes that there is a need to enhance environmental awareness in Islamic Boarding Schools through structured greening and waste management programs.

Pelatihan Pemantauan Pertumbuhan Balita Pada Kader Kesehatan di Puskesmas Muara Tais, Kecamatan Angkola, Muara Tais Tapanuli Selatan

Stunting in Tapanuli Selah district will be 39.4 percent in 2022, and in 2023 it will decrease by 15.6 percent. Community empowerment in the health sector develops Community Resource Health Efforts (UKBM) namely Posyandu. Posyandu organizers are health cadres, elected by the community. Increasing the ability of cadres to manage posyandu activities, especially regarding basic health services to the community, is carried out by training by health workers. Muaratais Health Center was inaugurated on July 15 2023, the newest sub-district expansion in South Tapanuli Regency. The Muaratais Health Center area has 15 villages, in each village there is a posyandu, an average of 4 cadres and there are new cadres who have never attended training. The service team agreed with the Community Health Center to carry out training for posyandu cadres on monitoring the growth of toddlers. Training materials, toddler growth, measuring body length, height and weight using tools available at the posyandu, infant ruler, microtoise, portable electric body weight. The training participants consisted of 20 health cadres, appointed by the community health center to represent the posyandu in their work area. Training activities were carried out for two days in the community health center meeting room. Lecture, question and answer, simulation and demonstration methods. Trainees' knowledge about monitoring toddler growth is getting better. Skills in using the growth monitoring tools available at posyandu category are sufficient. Skills at the advanced stage are continued by the posyandu supervisor.

A Study of Influential Groups in South Tapanuli's Islamic Education Policy Process

Education policy in South Tapanuli Regency (Tapsel) is not solely determined by the local government. Behind the scenes, a complex interplay of influential groups shapes the direction and focus of educational initiatives. This study aims to identify and analyze these key actors, examining their interactions, negotiations, and impact on education policy formulation and implementation. By delving into the political and social dynamics of Tapsel, this research seeks to provide a deeper understanding of the factors influencing educational outcomes. The study will explore how various stakeholders, including religious authorities, community organizations, educational institutions, and political parties, interact and exert their influence. The research methodology involves a comprehensive library research approach, utilizing primary data from scholarly journals, government documents, and electronic media. Through this analysis, the study will identify the most influential groups, their strategies, and their impact on specific policy areas, such as curriculum development, teacher training, and resource allocation.The findings of this research are expected to contribute to a more informed and evidence-based approach to education policy in Tapsel. By understanding the complex interplay of actors and their motivations, policymakers, educators, and community members can work together to improve educational quality, equity, and accessibility for all residents..

Assessing the Impact of Sustainable Independent Oil Palm Cultivation on Rural Development: A Case Study of Angkola Sangkunur Sub-District, South Tapanuli Regency

This study evaluates the impact of sustainable independent oil palm cultivation on rural development in the Angkola Sangkunur sub-district, South Tapanuli Regency, Indonesia. The research focuses on five key aspects: legal, technical cultivation, environmental management, labor, and institutional factors. Data was collected through a combination of primary and secondary sources, with primary data obtained via questionnaires distributed to a probability-based sample of 165 respondents. The analysis employed multiple linear regression to assess the influence of each aspect on regional development, with hypotheses tested using both F-tests and t-tests. The results reveal that the technical cultivation and institutional aspects exert a significant positive influence on rural development, underscoring the critical role of advanced agricultural practices and strong governance structures. While legal and environmental management aspects also have positive effects, their impact was not statistically significant, indicating that these factors may require further development or longer timeframes to manifest significant outcomes. Conversely, the labor aspect showed a negative but statistically insignificant effect, suggesting that the costs associated with implementing sustainable labor practices may pose challenges for smallholder farmers. This study concludes that enhancing technical capabilities and institutional frameworks offers the most immediate and substantial benefits for rural development in the region. However, a holistic approach that also addresses legal, environmental, and labor issues is essential for achieving long-term sustainability. The findings provide valuable insights for policymakers, stakeholders, and researchers focused on sustainable agriculture and rural development.

RELIGIOUS AND CULTURAL DEMARCATION: THE MYSTICISM DIMENSION IN THE PAJONJONG BAGAS TRADITION BY THE BATAK ANGKOLA MUSLIM COMMUNITY

Abstract This study aims to determine the mystical dimensions of the pajonjong bagas ceremony, a series of rituals in building a new house, as part of the culture of the Batak Angkola community. In this traditional ceremony, several rituals contain mystical elements, to influence the beliefs of Ahlu Sunnah wal Jama'ah. Based on the qualitative study, an ethnographic approach was employed, with data obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation of the entire pajonjong bagas ceremonial processes in the Batang Angkola sub-district, South Tapanuli. The results showed that the pajonjong bagas encompassed a high philosophical value and were highly beneficial for the community, specifically for those establishing new houses and still deeply rooted in local traditions or wisdom. However, several elements of the rituals were not explicitly studied or significant in the teachings of Islam. Various symbols were also used in the ceremony, such as coconut, sugarcane and palm sugar, chayote, and banana symbolizing usefulness, sweet speech actualization, continuity, and coolness. All these symbols were assembled and hung on the rabung bukkulan, a wooden structure used as a framework. This cultural accommodation was subsequently associated with local and Sufi mysticism.

Breastfeeding Knowledge and Colostrum Provision at South Tapanuli Regional Hospital

Colostrum is needed by newborns as an early nutrient that affects the development and growth of babies, besides colostrum also plays a role in the initial formation of the baby's immune system. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge of breastfeeding mothers and the provision of first breast milk (colostrum) in the midwifery room at the South Tapanuli District Hospital in 2022. The sample in this study amounted to 45 people with total sampling technique. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between knowledge of breastfeeding mothers and the provision of first breast milk (colostrum) in the obstetrics room of the South Tapanuli District Hospital as indicated by the Spearman correlation test value, the value of = 0.000 was obtained. The results of this study are to increase the knowledge of breastfeeding mothers about the first breastfeeding (colostrum).

Development Digitization of Partuturon Cultural Linguistic Index as Conservation and Revitalization of Angkola Language in South Tapanuli District

The purpose of this research is to develop the digitization of Partuturon cultural linguistic index as an effort to conserve and revitalize the Angkola language in South Tapanuli Regency. This research is structured using the concept of needs analysis, application development, application testing and implementation. This research brings findings and results that stimulate the initialization of the Partuturon cultural linguistic index, provide a deeper understanding of the angkola language and contribute to its preservation and development efforts, and overall understand the impact of digitization on the conservation and revitalization of the Angkola language. The implications of the findings examined towards the maintenance of the Angkola language, as well as the potential development of modern cultural innovations. The results of the analysis show that the digitization of the linguistic index of Partuturon culture has proven to be effective in the conservation and revitalization of the Angkola language. The digitization of the linguistic index has increased public interest in the Angkola language, especially the younger generation. The digitization of the linguistic index has also helped the community in understanding and using the Angkola language better.

The Influence of Emotional Intelligence and Spiritual Intelligence on the Performance of Educators at SMP Negeri 5 Sipirok

SMP Negeri 5 Sipirok is a secondary educational institution situated in the village of Situmba, Sipirok District, under the South Tapanuli Regency. This study aimed to assess the impact of emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence on teacher performance at SMP Negeri 5 Sipirok Sipirok. This research is classified as associative research. The research population consisted of all employees at SMP Negeri 5 Sipirok Sipirok. The study has a sample size of 32 respondents. The data gathering methods employed in this study encompassed the use of questionnaires and interviews. The study demonstrated that both emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence had a partially good and significant impact on teacher performance at SMP Negeri 5 Sipirok Sipirok. The equation Y = -21,542 + 0.302 X1 + 0.199 X2 + e, derived from multiple linear regression analysis, indicates a positive and unidirectional association between the variable X and the variable Y. The Adjusted R Square (R2) value of 62% indicates that the combined influence of emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence on teacher performance at SMP Negei 5 Sipirok is 62%. The remaining 38% is attributed to other variables not considered in this study model.

Strategy and planning for beef cow development based on land carrying capacity in South Tapanuli District

South Tapanuli District has quite potential in developing beef cattle by maximizing the potential of land with various types of plantation and agricultural plants as a source of animal feed. The objectives to be achieved in this research are to analyze the availability of feed based on plantation crops and food crops that support beef cattle feed sources, analyze variables in beef cattle development in influencing the number of beef cattle populations, and analyze strategic factors that influence the success of developing beef cattle and formulating strategies to increase beef cattle production in South Tapanuli District. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to examine the data. The study's findings demonstrate the abundance of potential carrying capacity of the region's land, with plantation area having the capacity to support 1,420 beef cattle annually and agricultural land having the capacity to support 14,508 cattle annually.

EFFECT OF ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT ON JOB SATISFACTION OF SOUTH TAPANULI REGENCY DPRD SECRETARIAT EMPLOYEES

Organizational commitment is the process by which organizational and individual goals become increasingly integrated. This research aims to determine the effect of organizational commitment on job satisfaction of South Tapanuli Regency DPRD Secretariat employees. The research carried out includes explanatory research. The population in this study were 15 employees within the Regional Representative Council of South Tapanuli Regency. Since the population was only 15 people, the author used the entire population as a sample, namely 15 people. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire and then analyzed using simple linear regression analysis to test hypotheses, correlation analysis and coefficient of determination. Based on the research results, it can be seen that the t test on the organizational commitment variable (X) obtained a calculated t of 3.891 with a significant t of 0.002. Because the calculated t is greater than the t table (3.891 > 0.690) and with a significant level of t smaller than 0.05 (0.002 < 0.05), it can be concluded that Hο is rejected and Ha is accepted. This shows that the organizational commitment variable partially influences job satisfaction. Because the alternative hypothesis is α = 0.05 or 5% and the Confidence Interval is 95%, which means the confidence level of 15 respondents states that organizational commitment has a significant effect on job satisfaction is 95%.

In order to reduce child morbidity and mortality, the United Nations Children's Fun (UNICEF) and the World Health Organization (WHO) recommend that children should only be given breast milk for at least six months (Infodatin, 2020). Adequacy of breast milk prevents hunger and malnutrition, reduces infant mortality, improves mental and cognitive development of infants. Woolwich massage increases the hormones prolactin and oxytocin which play a role in stimulating the release of milk in mothers after giving birth. Woolwich massage. carried out in the area of the lactiferous sinuses exactly 1-1.5 cm above the areola mamae, with the aim of removing the milk that is in the lactiferous sinuses. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the woolwich massage method on increasing breast milk production for the adequacy of babies in postpartum mothers in the Pintu Padang Health Center area, South Tapanuli Regency. Quasiexperimental study Woolwich massage on mammary glands. Population Mother post partum 1-4 days. The total population sample is 20 respondents. Research time June to November 2022. The results of the Pearson correlation test of 0.751 with a significance level (p) of 0.058 indicate a strong correlation and a positive direction where the woolwich massage facilitates the release of breast milk in meeting the needs of the baby. Midwives are motivated to do woolwich massage in the mammary area after assisting in childbirth.

Portion of Married Daughters in Inheritance Share among Angkola Batak Community

It is believed that Islamic law provides a fair share for inheritance among men and women or among sons and daughters. However, it does not always happen that way like what occurs in Angola Batak community with Muslims as its majority at the South Tapanuli. This article focuses on married daughters’ gain in inheritance share. The problems discussed are: First, what are the types of married daughters’ inheritance gain in Angkola Batak’s customs? Second, what are triggering factors beyond the types of married daughters’ inheritance gain? Third, how does the sharing practice imply to the Islamic law? This field research relies on primary data obtained from both observation and interviews. Research informants were selected based on relevance criteria to the research subject, Angkola Batak women who get the inheritance share from their birth families and some relevant parties. Additionally, it also used secondary data from a literature study employing a sociological approach to reveal the reality vividly. The interpretative data analysis was through several stages starting from data collection and reduction and then drawing conclusions. It reveals four types of married daughters’ share in inheritance: (1) in contrast to the share of sons, (2) the share is collectively distributed among fellow sisters, (3) the share is temporary, and (4) no inheritance gain at all. Second, the four types stem from both socially constructed considerations as well as divinely given factors. Third, the share implies either improvisation, deviance, as well as local values embed in Islamic law.

CAPACITY BUILDING EFFORTS FOR VILLAGE OFFICIALS AND THE VILLAGE CONSULTATIVE BODY IN CARRYING OUT THEIR DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS IN SIMARLELAN VILLAGE, SOUTH TAPANULI

The purpose of this research is to explain the efforts made to increase the ability of the village apparatus and village consultative bodies to perform their respective roles in South Tapanuli Simarlelan Village. The incapacity of the village machinery and village consultative bodies to perform their roles and responsibilities is the basis of this study. In addition to purposive sampling for informant selection and SWOT analysis for data analysis, this study employs descriptive qualitative approaches. The study was carried out in the South Tapanuli Regency's Simarlelan Village Head Office y in the Muara Batang Toru District. The findings indicated that because capacity building initiatives are only implemented by local governments with erratic timelines and do not involve the apparatus and BPD as a whole, it is possible to argue that they have not been fully and appropriately implemented in order to enhance the ability of village apparatus and BPD Simarlelan in carrying out their duties and functions.

Characterization and prediction of acid mine drainage potential and metal solubility: Critical data for tailings and waste rock management in high sulfidation gold deposits

Abstract In the Purnama gold deposit at the Martabe mine of South Tapanuli District, North Sumatra Province, Indonesia, gold is extracted from the ore and the remaining fine-sized material is stored in the tailings storage facility (TSF) and waste rocks are placed as TSF embankments. Without proper management, tailings and waste rocks from mining can create acid mine drainage (AMD) and release toxic chemicals, posing significant risks to local ecosystems and residents in mining areas. To address this, a mineralogical and geochemical characterization study was investigated, as well as the leaching behavior of heavy metals in the tailings leach column tests (LCT) was conducted. Geochemical characterization showed quartz hornblende andesite and hornblende dacite as NAF materials; clay breccia, volcanic andesite, carbonaceous clay, volcanic breccia, and silica breccia as PAF materials. Further tests revealed that volcanic breccia, carbon clay, and volcanic andesite were classified as high-risk PAF materials, supported by XRD test results. Finally, the LCT results showed that volcanic breccia produced rapid acid drainage, with arsenic (45.9 mg L−1), copper (41.4 mg L−1), and manganese (14.1 mg L−1) being the main dissolved metals. It is important to manage PAF rocks and ensure the water leachate does not contain high concentrations of these metals.

Physical Fitness: Ps Sipangko Football Club Kabupaten Tapanuli Selatan

Physical health and physical fitness have an important role in the world of sport, especially in the context of football clubs. The PS Sipangko football club in South Tapanuli Regency, which has a long history in the world of football, has unique challenges and opportunities in maintaining the physical health of its players. This study aims to measure and analyze the level of physical fitness of the 13 players of the PS Sipangko football club, South Tapanuli Regency and identify the factors that influence this level of fitness. The research method used was a survey and physical measurements involving club players. The data was analyzed statistically to evaluate the level of physical fitness and its relationship to performance on the field. The results showed that the level of physical fitness of players with an average physical fitness test score was 10.80 in the 14-17 interval with a percentage of 38.46%. Judging from the freshness level norms, the category is classified as Medium. These findings provide a deeper understanding of the importance of maintaining physical health in the world of football and highlight the need to pay attention to aspects of physical fitness in the development of football players.

Chemical and sensory evaluations of energy bar made from purple sweet potatoes and tapioca flour with the addition of Sidempuan salak (Salacca sumatrana (Becc.)) fruit

Sidempuan salak is a local fruit originating from South Tapanuli, North Sumatra. This fruit has a unique taste of sweet, sour and slightly astringent. This fruit can be consumed fresh or processed into several products, such as flour, drinks and sweets. This study aimed to develop a food-based energy bar from Sidempuan salak fruit (Salacca sumatrana (Becc.)). Energy bar formulation was done by blending purple sweet potato flour, tapioca flour, glucose syrup, egg albumen, coconut oil, salt, and dried salak fruit powder at 0 g as the control, 100 g (bar 1), 150 g (bar 2) and 200 g (bar 3). The chemical characteristic analysis showed that the control energy bars (CEB) per 100 g consisted of 63.17 g of carbohydrates, 1.95 g of protein, 13.42 g of fat, 6.40 mg of vitamin C, 248.05 mg of potassium and 381.24 kcal. Energy bar salak 1 (EBS1) had 377.44 kcal with a composition of 68.34 g carbohydrates, 1.71 g protein, 10.81 g fat, 8.00 mg vitamin C and 347.05 mg potassium. Energy bar salak 2 (EBS2) contained 375.49 kcal with 71.48 g carbohydrate, 1.84 g protein, 9.12 g fat, 5.77 mg vitamin C and 368.42 mg potassium. Energy bar salak 3 (EBS3) showed 369.40 kcal with 74.54 g carbohydrates, 1.92 g protein, 7.07 g fat, 9.96 mg vitamin C and 410.24 mg potassium. Based on sensory evaluation, the untrained panellists indicated that ESB3 was the most preferred, even though EBS1 and EBS2 were also very much acceptable. In conclusion, energy bars containing salak (EBS1, EBS2, EBS3) were lower in calories than the control energy bars due to the lower addition of flour. From the data obtained, salak has a good potential to be used as an additional ingredient to develop energy bars.

Spatial Clusters of High Prevalences of Overweight and Obesity Among Children in Indonesia.

Objective Childhood obesity has emerged as a pressing health concern in both high-income and lower-middle-income countries, including Indonesia. The prevalence of overweight and obesity among school children aged 5-12 years has been increasing in Indonesia, with 20% of Indonesian children identified as obese or overweight in 2018. Therefore, addressing this problem will be challenging. This study aims to identify district- and city-level clusters with high prevalences of overweight and obese children aged 5-12 years in Indonesia. Methodology This is an ecological study that utilizes secondary data from the 2018 Basic Health Research report conducted by the Indonesian Ministry of Health. We included 514 districts and cities to detect district- and city-level clusters. Spatial cluster analysis was performed using restricted flexible scan statistics to identify clusters with high prevalences of childhood overweight and obesityin Indonesian districts and cities. Results The findings reveal that childhood overweight and obesity are not randomly distributed. The study detected 20 clusters with high prevalences of childhood overweight and 36 clusters of obesity, with a particular concentration in Western Indonesia. A primary cluster of childhood overweightoccurred in Sijunjung, Tanah Datar, Agam, Pasaman, South Solok, Dharmasraya, West Pasaman, Sawah Lunto City, Padang Panjang City, and Kampar. A primary cluster of obesity occurred in Mandailing Natal, South Tapanuli, Central Tapanuli, North Tapanuli, Labuhan Batu, North Padang Lawas, Padang Lawas, North Labuhan Batu, West Pasaman, and Rokan Hilir. Conclusions This study found 20 clusters with high prevalences of childhood overweight and 36 clusters of obesity in Indonesia. Implementing health promotion programs in the identified cluster regions will be crucial to effectively addressing the growing problem of childhood obesity in Indonesia.
