Islamic Education's Role in Building Character, Teaching Moral Values to Students, and Becoming the Pillar of a Quality Society

This study examines the extent to which strengthening Islamic education is able to shape individual character and humans as quality society union. Film Study: The strategy followed in this study is a form of reading referred as to film-reading (Documentary Form analysis). The findings of this study suggest that the enhancement of Islamic education can develop the characteristics one has as an individual. In good Islamic teachings, human beings are given moral values such as honesty, nose-to-tail and the pursuit of justice. Islamic education teaches and develops human character including empathy, tolerance from each other to collaborate. Also necessary, the ascendancy of Islamic education is one pillar to uphold a qualified society. If society was sound Islamic education then people of different faith and race will have peaceful life where in they can respect each other in every walk of their religious and cultural lives. Islamic education is also instrumental in shaping a high social conscious society that respects diversity and accepts the responsibility for all.

Promoting employment-oriented skills development in Africa: Reality, relevance and research as enablers

Overcoming the alarming youth unemployment challenge in Africa will entail youths acquiring employable skills. For the millions of young people who are illiterate or have never been to school, the learning of high-level technical skills for operating in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) work environment is a pipe dream. However, these poorly educated young Africans also need relevant skills for gainful employment and sustainable livelihoods. This thought piece argues that employment-oriented skills development in Africa should be multi-pronged and tailored to the educational profiles and needs of learners. Young people with a sound basic education and foundational STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) skills can benefit from the learning of higher-order 4IR skills, while those who have never been to school or have dropped out of the school system at an early age could benefit from modern national apprenticeship schemes by qualifying as competent artisans who could serve the various sectors of the economy. Implementing such a disaggregated strategy for enhancing the employability and employment prospects of all young Africans, regardless of their educational background, will have to be anchored in the reality of the employment situation in each country, be informed by the relevance of the skills training programmes to the needs of the learner and the economy, and be driven by empirical research evidence.

A Qualitative Study on Digital Aesthetics and Sound Interaction

Many disciplines—from science to art and education—engage with the postdigital concept, where human activities transform into digital activities. The post-COVID-19 era has involved new consequences for societies, where education has increasingly utilized online platforms. Having said that, online pedagogy, with the directions and discourses of the senses, particularly visual and aural, remains under-explored. Studies have addressed the educational implications of the aural sense, but this study explores the nexus between digital aesthetics and sound pedagogy and delves deeper into students’ primarily descriptive learning outcomes. A multi-disciplinary class covered aesthetic terminologies, followed by a series of digital arts that envisioned digital, aesthetic, and listening practices. Considering the global agenda’s recent “new norms”, this study contributes to the postdigital era of sound and acoustic-related sciences.

SOCIAL AND MORAL NORMS IN PROFESSIONAL PEDAGOGICAL ACTIVITY

This article explores the significance of social and moral norms in professional pedagogical activity. It examines the theoretical foundation, practical application, and challenges of adhering to these norms. The findings emphasize their critical role in shaping educators’ ethical behavior and improving the educational environment. Strategies for the effective implementation of these norms through professional development, institutional policies, and reflective practices are also discussed, highlighting their contribution to fostering inclusive and ethically sound teaching practices.

Remodeling Classroom Management Through Technology Driven Curriculum In Nigeria: A Sociological Analysis

Remodeling the classroom management through technology driven curriculum will assist teachers to the global requirement to replace traditional teaching methods with a technology-based teaching and learning tools and facilities. In Nigeria, Remodeling the classroom management through technology driven curriculum is considered as one of the main elements in transforming the country to the future development. The conceptual clarification utilizes the remodeling of the classroom management, technology, and education as the tools affecting remodeling classroom management through technology driven curriculum in Nigeria. The theoretical perspectives that is used for the paper is Humanist choice theory by William Glasser in the year 1998. The concept of remodeling classroom management and relevance of technology driven curriculum in Nigeria is the basic or fundamental impact to the success of this paper. The Ministry of Education, through the latest Education Blue print (2013-2025), insights the importance of technology-based teaching and learning into the schools’ national curriculum. This study of the paper aims to analyze teachers’ perceptions on effectiveness of upgrading the classroom management through technology driven curriculum to support teaching and learning process in classroom. The results indicate that remodeling the classroom through technology driven curriculum has a great effectiveness for both teachers and the students. Findings indicate that teachers’ well-equipped preparation with technology driven curriculum tools and facilities is one the main factors in success of technology-based in remodeling the classroom management for sound teaching and learning. It was also found that professional development training programs for teachers also played a key role in enhancing students’ quality learning. For the future studies, there is a need for consideration of other aspects of remodeling classroom especially from management point of view in regard to strategic planning and policy making through technology driven curriculum.

Saenal School in South Korea: Its Historical Significance

Aim. The importance of this study lies in the fact that in contemporary South Korean society, a model of multicultural education is unquestionably required for the offspring of Goryeoin (Koreans), who were dispersed across Russia, Ukraine, and Central Asia before settling in their homeland of Korea because they urgently need to restore their healthy identity. Method. The basic methods of investigation are historical analysis based on hermeneutical phenomenology, general classification, and psychological and pedagogical approaches aimed at providing a sound multicultural education for Goryeoin children as well as other ethnic students. Results and conclusion. The curriculum and fruitfulness of Saena lSchool have been established to be one of the most effective multicultural educations in South Korea under the leadership of the school's principal, Pastor Cheon-Young Lee, who has excellent insight into the reasons for the emergence of Goryo people in South Korea. This study will show that his view of Korean history, which could persuade almost anyone, was the driving force behind his overcoming the numerous tough situations currently confronting the Korean educational environment, garnering love and respect from many Koreans, and bringing about remarkable innovation in education.

Empowering Indonesian EFL Teachers: The Transformative Impact of Visual Literacy Training on Teaching Materials

Within the contemporary landscape dominated by visual media, educators' proficiency in visual literacy is crucial for effective pedagogy, particularly in English language instruction. This research aims to explore the effects of visual literacy training on the capability of English teachers at Kalam Kudus Elementary School, Bali, to create innovative teaching materials. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, the research engaged 21 teachers in a professional development program centered on contrast, repetition, alignments, and proximity (CRAP) design principles. The study's methodology combined quantitative and qualitative data, integrating pre-and post-tests, visual literacy questionnaires, and semi-structured interviews to evaluate changes in teachers' visual literacy competencies and their practical application in the classroom. The findings reveal significant improvements: (i) teachers demonstrated a substantial enhancement in their visual literacy skills, with an average Gain Score of 74.15%, reflecting the program's statistically significant effectiveness; (ii) teachers’ ability to create visually engaging and pedagogically sound teaching materials was markedly improved; and (iii) despite these gains, challenges in balancing visual design with content selection persist, underscoring the need for ongoing professional development. The research underscores the critical role of visual literacy in modern education, with clear implications for broader educational policy and curriculum design. By integrating visual literacy training into teacher development programs, educational institutions can significantly enhance the quality of instructional materials, thereby improving student engagement and learning outcomes.

Digital Literacy in a Global Context: Constructing Models for International Chinese Teachers across Regions and Countries

The research aims to determine the factors that facilitate teaching efficiency for Chinese teachers hired abroad. It is a quantitative study that covers digital skill, cultural and linguistic compatibility, technology policy, integration of technology into the curriculum, training and professional development. However, the current research on these aspects is inadequate in giving a broad understanding of the interaction of the above factors, especially for Chinese educators working in foreign countries. This research seeks to uncover the correlations between these factors and provide recommendations for sound instruction. An e-survey was administered to 350 educational specialists from China, and the data was analyzed through Smart PLS version 3.0 software and structural equation modeling (SEM). Findings indicate that teachers’ digital literacy capability predicts technology use in their instruction. The linguistic and cultural dynamism is therefore useful in developing a preparatory setting for technology that is essential in curriculum implementation. In addition, it was ascertained that continuing education also mediates the incorporation of technology and teachers’ efficiency. The results stress the need to focus on automation, infrastructure, and professional development for effective integrated tech-based learning. Conferences, seminars, availability of learning resources as well as training and mentorship are essential to ensuring efficacy in teaching and preparing for a variety of contexts in education.

Biological engineering – an engineering discipline crucial to the future of our civilization

Abstract Biological engineering is a new engineering discipline that is paving the way for new products and processes based on findings from biology. These allow for environmentally friendly production, use and disposal while at the same time creating high added value. Like any engineering discipline, biological engineering requires a sound university education, which is already being provided at many North American universities. The aim of the article is to motivate policymakers to take note of this development and to establish comparable departments and degree programs in the EU.

Freely available, online videos to support neurological physiotherapists and students in task-specific training skill acquisition: a scoping review

BackgroundVideos to support learning of clinical skills are effective; however, little is known about the scope and educational quality of the content of freely available online videos demonstrating task-specific training (TST). This review aimed to determine the extent, characteristics of freely available online videos, and whether the content is suitable to guide skill acquisition of task-specific training for neurological physiotherapists and students.MethodsA scoping review was conducted. Google video and YouTube were searched in December 2022. Videos that met our eligibility criteria and were explicitly designed for (TST) skill acquisition were included in the report.ResultsTen videos met the inclusion criteria and were difficult to find amongst the range of videos available. Most were presented by physiotherapists or occupational therapists, originated from the USA, featured stroke as the condition of the person being treated, and involved a range of interventions (upper limb, constraint induced movement therapy, balance, bicycling). Most videos were created by universities or private practices and only two used people with a neurological condition as the participant. When the content of videos and their presentation (instruction and/or demonstration), was assessed against each key component of TST (practice structure, specificity, repetition, modification, progression, feedback), five of the videos were rated very suitable and five moderately suitable to guide skill acquisition. Most videos failed to demonstrate and provide instruction on each key component of TST and were missing at least one component, with feedback most frequently omitted.ConclusionsThere are many freely available online videos which could be described as demonstrating TST; very few are suitable to guide skill acquisition. The development of a standardised and validated assessment tool, that is easy to use and assesses the content of TST videos is required to support learners to critically evaluate the educational quality of video content. Guidelines based on sound teaching theory and practice are required to assist creators of online videos to provide suitable resources that meet the learning needs of neurological physiotherapists and students.

Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) in Sri Lankan Business Schools: A Pathway to Sustainable Business Education: A Study of Curricular Integration, Stakeholder Engagement, and Sustainable Development Outcomes

This research study is an analysis of the introduction and application, PRME within Sri Lankan business schools to promote al sustainable management education. This study applies an integrated approach through analyzing diverse facets of PRME implementation issues comprising alignment curriculum component, stakeholder involvement and realization to sustainable development benefits.By using a mixed-methods research design, the study assesses systematically the problems and respond encounters in integration of PRME criteria to curriculums offered by Sri Lankan business schools identifying activities which impact this process. Furthermore, the research analyses stakeholder engagement in PRME implementation path with a focus on collaboration between businesses, government agencies and civil society organizations that promotes achievement of sustainable development outcomes.The outcomes of this study offer not only a profound picture of the current situation with regards to PRME adoption but also shed fantastic light on its development prospects and influence over Sri Lankan business schools. This study pinpoints successful strategies thus it helps in developing a sound sustainable business education pathway for Sri Lanka.

대학에서 실용음악음향 페다고지 수업의 팀 기반 동료교수법 적용 연구

The purpose of this study is to present an application case of the team-based peer teaching method in the four-year 'Practical Music Sound Pedagogy' class at K University in Korea. To this end, 17 students of this lecture opened in Department A in the first semester of 2023 were applied to team activities for 16 weeks by applying the peer teaching method. The researcher developed a team-based peer teaching-learning model with three steps and five lower steps of introduction, development, and conclusion so that the peer teaching method can be meaningfully performed and applied in the practical music pedagogical class. In addition, a weekly class plan was developed to enable team-centered self-directed and active teaching-learning through instructional planning and exploration, pedagogical team activities, mini-peer teaching activities, and extended peer teaching activities. In-depth interviews were conducted with a total of 9 students, consisting of 3 people per team, for peer teaching activities applied in the course of class. As a result, it was found that students' self-directed learning, academic attitude and achievement, and peer professor-learner interaction improved through the application of the team-based peer teaching method. This study will serve as basic data for attempting team-based peer teaching methods in related department major subjects.

The core elements of innovation or creativity mainly include creative thinking and creative personality. Universities should start from the perspectives of collaborative participation, service and publicity, establish a sound innovation education mechanism, link up professional teaching, develop characteristic entrepreneurship and innovation courses, build diversified entrepreneurship and innovation practice platforms, and hold entrepreneurship and innovation competitions, so as to promote college students to accumulate knowledge, skills and experience in innovation and entrepreneurship in practice.

Analysis of the Differences Between Chinese and Western Preschool Education--The Case Study of China and Finland

Finland ranks first in the world for the quality of education and has a mature education system, a sound education structure and a highly qualified education team. Judging from the current situation, China's basic education has developed rapidly, the allocation of educational resources and government investment has been continuously improved, and the penetration rate of preschool education has increased significantly. However, there are still some problems and deficiencies in some aspects. This paper uses the method of comparative study, mainly from the two countries' preschool education status, preschool education curriculum arrangement and preschool education teachers three aspects of comparison. This paper argues that China's preschool education has deficiencies in the allocation of educational resources and the quality of teachers. Based on this, the following recommendations are put forward in this paper. First of all, China can strengthen policy protection, invest more funds in preschool education, and ensure the educational fairness of children in preschool education. Secondly, China can improve the curriculum standards and integrate various fields into the curriculum of preschool education to promote the all-round development of preschool children. Finally, China can improve the overall level of preschool teachers, focus on developing pre-service teacher training, and improve the quality of preschool education.

Analysis of the Reform of Blended Teaching in College English Under the Background of New Liberal Arts

With the continuous reform of the education system, the requirements for higher education have significantly increased. New liberal arts have been identified as the main direction of educational development, achieving innovative development in liberal arts education and enhancing the country’s cultural soft power. Therefore, universities should increase their emphasis on English teaching. In addition to imparting basic English knowledge, it is also necessary to focus on cultivating students’ cross-cultural communication and critical thinking abilities. The concept of new liberal arts should be applied by integrating information technology into the lessons, implementing blended learning, overcoming the disadvantages of traditional teaching, building a sound teaching system, and ensuring that college English teaching achieves good teaching results.

Eco-pesantren modeling for environmentally friendly behavior: new lessons from Indonesia

<em><span lang="EN-US">Pesantren</span></em><span lang="EN-US"> or Islamic boarding school plays a vital and strategic role in improving environmentally sound education. </span><em><span lang="EN-US">Eco-pesantren</span></em><span lang="EN-US"> is a movement that puts a high concern for the environment. This study aimed to analyze </span><em><span lang="EN-US">eco-pesantren</span></em><span lang="EN-US"> modeling techniques in education. It is a case study with a qualitative research method. The research was conducted at Islamic Boarding School Sumber Mental Agama Allah (SPMAA), Turi Lamongan, East Java, Indonesia. Data were collected by observation, interviews, questionnaires, and document studies. This research concluded that modeling techniques can at least be pursued in four main ways: the individual role model of </span><em><span lang="EN-US">pesantren</span></em><span lang="EN-US"> leaders; infrastructure and their use; governance systems; and culture or traditions. Besides, using integrated modeling techniques at both school and </span><em><span lang="EN-US">pesantren</span></em><span lang="EN-US"> culture can increase insight and application of environmentally friendly behavior through a direct observation and habituation of healthy educational practices. Modeling can help students turn abstract ideas of green life into actual implementations. Direct observation of continuous practices equips students with the knowledge required to perform expected behaviors. Research on modeling assists </span><em><span lang="EN-US">eco-pesantren</span></em><span lang="EN-US"> institutions encourage learning and practices about healthy environment. In the global context, it can be a role model for the implementation of environmentally friendly education that promotes environmentally sound learning.</span>

On the Current Situation and Practical Path of Labor Education in Colleges and Universities in the New Era

This paper mainly discusses the current situation and practical path of labor education in colleges and universities in the new era. In modern society, labor education in colleges and universities has become an important way to cultivate high-quality and highly-skilled talents. However, there are some problems in current labor education in colleges and universities, for example, the content is not scientific enough, the training effect is not significant, and students’ enthusiasm to participate in labor education is not high. In response to these problems, this paper puts forward some practical approaches, including building a comprehensive and scientific content system, strengthening the reform of teaching methods, and establishing a sound labor education management mechanism. These paths can not only help colleges and universities better carry out labor education, and improve students' practical ability and employment competitiveness, but also help improve college education. In a word, this paper summarizes the current situation and practical path of labor education in colleges and universities, and provides some useful thinking and references for the future development of labor education in colleges and universities.

From ‘Devil’s Baby’ to Ambassador for Christ:The Evangelical Legacy of Byang H. Kato

This article outlines Byang Kato’s legacy, especially his contribution to evangelical theology in sub-Saharan Africa. Kato was raised in African traditional religion, dedicated as a fetish priest at birth. He converted to the Christian faith at age twelve, rising to become a world class evangelical scholar before his tragic death. Kato contended for biblical orthodoxy. Kato warned about syncretistic universalism and endeavored to provide a remedy through sound theological education in Africa. Kato also joined the African identity debate, advocating for a ‘third race’ identity. Kato’s warning is a call for constant vigilance, and his prophetic voice deserves attention. In an era when Africa has become the heartland of Christianity, one pitfall is for the fastest growing church to become the fastest declining church, in terms of biblical fidelity. An authentic paradigmatic Christian expression is required. The church must contend with non-Christian worldviews. Kato’s hermeneutics has much to contribute to today’s Christianity.
