Resilience in the management and business research field: a bibliometric analysis

The purpose of this study is to map the recent scientific literature on resilience and analyses the most substantial contributions to the advancement of studies in the business and management research field. A bibliometric analysis from the Web of Science / Social Sciences Citation Index database – covering the period 2014 until May 2021 – was carried out. Bibliometric techniques and tools were applied, such as co-citation counts and historiography generated by HistCiteTM, and bibliographic coupling and cartography from VOSviewer (visualization of similarities). As result, 637 articles were identified, which were published in 114 journals and written by 1607 authors affiliated to 821 institutions from 63 countries. This study provides new information not previously reviewed, for example, most influential journals and articles in recent years. The analysis allowed elaborating a map that provides clues for future studies on resilience in the business and management research field.

Mapping the Cyber Interpersonal Violence among Young Populations: A Scoping Review

The increase in digital practices and networking has introduced important changes to social interactions. The extensive use of technology among young people has allowed for cyber communication, which has numerous benefits but can also trigger violence in relationships. Interpersonal violence affecting young people is becoming more widely recognized as a public health issue. The aim of this scoping review is to map and systematize the published academic literature on Cyber Interpersonal Violence (CIV) amongst young people, following the methodological approach proposed by Arksey and O’Malley. Five databases were searched: PubMed, Scopus, CINAHL (EBSCOhost), Science Direct and Social Sciences Citation Index. Eighteen studies in English, Portuguese, Spanish and French, published from 2004 onwards, were included. Three main areas arose in the CIV: cyber dating abuse, cyberbullying and cyber-harassment. Investing in prevention is the key to preventing cyber violence.

Assessment and management pathways of older adults with mild cognitive impairment: descriptive review and critical interpretive synthesis

Background Mild cognitive impairment in older adults is a risk factor for dementia. Mild cognitive impairment is a result of a diverse range of underlying causes and may progress to dementia, remain stable or improve over time. Objectives We aimed to assess the evidence base around the assessment and management pathway of older adults with mild cognitive impairment in community/primary care, hospital and residential settings. Data sources In January 2021, we searched MEDLINE, EMBASE, PsycInfo®, Scopus, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, The Cochrane Library (i.e. Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials), Science Citation Index and Social Science Citation Index. The search was limited to studies published in English between 2010 and 2020. Grey literature and citation searches were also performed. Methods We performed two separate evidence reviews: (1) a descriptive review with narrative synthesis focusing on diagnosis, service provision and patient experience; and (2) a critical interpretive synthesis of evidence on the advantages and disadvantages of ‘mild cognitive impairment’ as a diagnostic label. Results A total of 122 studies were included in the descriptive review, of which 29 were also included in the critical interpretive synthesis. Study participants were most commonly recruited from populations of community-living older adults or those who had sought medical help from their general practitioner for memory problems. Follow-up searching identified a further 11 studies for the critical interpretive synthesis. The descriptive review identified multiple barriers to efficient diagnosis, starting with patient reluctance to seek help. General practitioners have a variety of cognitive tests available, but substantial numbers of patients meeting criteria for dementia do not have a diagnosis recorded. Patients may be referred to a memory clinic, but these clinics are mainly intended to identify and support people with dementia, and people with mild cognitive impairment may be discharged back to their general practitioner until symptoms worsen. Availability of scanning and biomarker tests is patchy. Qualitative studies show that patients with mild cognitive impairment and their carers find the process of investigation and diagnosis difficult and frustrating to negotiate. The key finding from the critical interpretive synthesis was that the need for a ‘timely’ diagnosis outweighs the ongoing debate about the value, or otherwise, of early investigation and labelling of memory problems. Determining what is a timely diagnosis involves balancing the perspectives of the patient, the health system and the clinician. Conclusions The two reviews reported here have applied different ‘lenses’ to the same body of evidence. Taken together, the reviews highlight the importance of a timely diagnosis for memory problems and identify barriers to obtaining such a diagnosis, from reluctance to seek help through to patchy availability of advanced diagnostic tests. Limitations The review was primarily descriptive, reflecting the prespecified review questions. Study selection was complicated by lack of a consistent definition of mild cognitive impairment and its overlap with other memory disorders. It was not possible to employ double study selection, data extraction or quality assessment, although processes of checking and verification were used throughout the review. Future work Priorities include evaluating remote methods of memory assessment and preparing for the likely future availability of disease-modifying treatments for early dementia. Research is needed on the investigation of memory problems in hospital and social care settings. Study registration This study is registered as PROSPERO CRD42021232535. Bibliometric Analysis of Highly Cited Articles on Organic Food Products

Aim: The purpose of the present study is to map and address renowned authors, scientific annual production, collaboration indices, impact factors, and keyword and count objects towards organic food products. Methods: The current analysis examined 140 research articles published in Science Citation Index (SCI) and Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) databases from 2002 to 2021. Additionally, the study conducted a bibliometric review on small but promising literature from the Web of Science database and included only highly cited articles. Results and Discussion: This study investigated that India has secured a position in the world for single country production and multiple country production. Besides this, the publication trend of organic food products showed enormous growth in recent times. This study also identified that “H” indexed authors such as Gracia D.E.A. Magistrist, and Albrecht SE. showed their interest in organic food products and published many articles in this domain. Conclusion: For further research in relation to different aspects of organic food products, such as proper knowledge and communication of organic food, it defines a preposition for future insight into the topic. Similarly, it focuses upon the choice experiment of the consumers towards this domain and also uncovers the preposition in relation to organic food products for future research. The result also highlights the level of publication and scientific production of organic food products, which has increased from 2002- 2021.

Universal programs to prevent eating disorders in children and adolescents: A scoping review of ethical, legal, organizational and social impacts.

Appropriate and timely consideration of ethical, legal, organizational, and social issues in universal preventive programs for eating disorders (UPPED) are relevant for the approval, funding and implementation of health-policy decision making. To identify and analyse the ethical, legal, organizational, and social aspects involved in interventions aimed at the universal prevention of eating disorders (ED) in children, pre-adolescents and adolescents in the school settings. A scoping review of the literature was carried out. MEDLINE, EMBASE, CENTRAL, PsycINFO, and Social Science Citation Index were searched for studies published in English or Spanish. The quality of the studies was assessed using specific scales for each study design. Fourteen studies were included: one scoping review; four narrative reviews, six observational studies, two qualitative studies, and one mixed methods study. Results were narratively synthesised according to: (1) equity; (2) gender perspective; (3) potential harm; (4) participants and facilitators profile; (5) feasibility; and (6) acceptability. Interactive programs with relevant contents for participants have greater acceptability. Programs focussed on developing competencies can reduce the risk of potential harm. Incorporating a gender perspective contributes to improving equity. Teachers with prior training in ED are well suited as facilitators of these programs.

Exploring the knowledge domain of earthquake prediction based on bibliometric analysis and text mining

Earthquake prediction is one of the important themes of earthquake research, and it is also a very difficult scientific problem in the world. In this study, a bibliometric analysis is conducted on the scientific publications about earthquake prediction indexed in SCIE (Science Citation Index Expanded) and SSCI (Social Sciences Citation Index) databases during the past two decades (1998–2017). The subject categories, annual and journal distributions, leading countries/regions and institutions are investigated in this field. The main research topics are identified through text mining method. The research trends are explored by keyword co-occurrence analysis and bursting keywords detection techniques. The results of this study are helpful for scholars in this field to find the knowledge structure and important participants. It is also helpful for scholars to seize the current research hotspots and future development trends in this field.

The 100 most-cited articles on bibliotherapy: a bibliometric analysis

ABSTRACT Bibliotherapy is an important part of art therapy and many publications regarding bibliotherapy have been published in the past. However, there has none about the scientometric study to systematically analyze the development and emerging research trends on bibliotherapy. Therefore, we performed a scientometric investigation to describe trends of this theme. All publications related to bibliotherapy published from 1980 to 2020 were identified and selected from Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Sciences Citation Index, and Arts & Humanities Citation Index of Web of Science Core Collection. VOSviewer was used to create collaborative network plots of countries, institutions, and authors and to perform cluster analysis of keywords. A total of 703 articles were searched, and we retrieved the 100 most cited articles published by 146 institutions from 15 countries in 57 academic journals. The United States occupied a leading position in the field of bibliotherapy and Linköping University was the most productive institution. Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology was the most productive journal. Andersson G, Carlbring P, and Cuijpers P may have an important influence on bibliotherapy research. The applications in depression, anxiety, panic disorder, insomnia, and aphasia are the hot themes. This scientometric review provided a comprehensive understanding of the bibliotherapy research using quantitative and qualitative methods, which can provide references for researchers in the bibliotherapy field. As investigators continue to work, we look forward to the development of bibliotherapy efficacy and the implementation form and steps.

The impact of tourism promotion in tourist destinations: a bibliometric study

Purpose This paper aims to provide an assessment of tourism promotion in tourist destinations and airports (TPTDs) and to organize and classify the literature on tourism promotion, with the aim of staging the importance of this topic and encouraging future research in the projection of tourism and marketing sectors. Design/methodology/approach The paper uses the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) database to analyze the bibliometric in TPTDs topic from 2000 to 2021. Additionally, the paper also uses the visualization of similarities (VOS) viewer software to map graphically the bibliographic material. The graphical analysis uses bibliographic coupling, co-citation, citation and co-occurrence of keywords. Findings This study provides an amended new definition of tourism promotion, which is the efficient management of a destination’s resources and strategic plans by destination marketing organizations (DMOs) to adapt the tourism supply to market trends and will empower tourists to visit such destinations. Furthermore, results also show a new paradigm applied to TPTDs topic and classified in five first-order research streams. Digital and mobile marketing, infrastructure, branding, quality, accessibility and information factors about a specific destination which are mostly demanded by tourists are considered as an important means of promotion for the tourism industry. Originality/value The contribution of this study is important to identify new challenges and opportunities for researchers, DMOs, airport and airlines operators and stakeholders, as disentangling existing contradictions and applying new theoretical framework to make better future decisions by researchers and organizations to provide higher quality to new research in the context of the TPTDs.

Industry 4.0 and Enabling Technologies: Integration Framework and Challenges

Industry 4.0 has revolutionized the traditional production line toward smart factories in a sustainable environment. It represents an intelligent manufacturing network, where machines and products interact without human control. Recently, there have been studies on Industry 4.0 and integrating enabling technologies, and this article aims to summarize a few of the pathbreaking studies and guide future research in this field. This paper reviews 112 journal publications related to Blockchain from 2017 to 2021 in the Science Citation Index (SCI) and Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) database. The selected papers are grouped into ten categories. This overview indicates that research of integrating Industry 4.0 enabling technologies needs to focus on developing better privacy and security mechanisms and a design framework for integrating the 5G network system into the platform.

A bibliometric and visual analysis of hospitality and tourism marketing research from 2000–2020

PurposeThis study aimed to bibliometrically and visually analyze and review hospitality and tourism marketing studies published from 2000–2020.Design/methodology/approachA total of 3,942 articles collected from the databases of Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) and Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-E) in the Web of Science (WoS) along with their references were used for analyses. The bibliometric software HistCiteTM and literature measurement visualization tools, VOSviewer and CiteSpace, were employed to analyze the selected articles.FindingsThe results of the study demonstrated top influential scholars and institutions, intellectual structure and emerging trends of the study topics, and future research opportunities in the field of hospitality and tourism marketing.Research limitations/implicationsFirst, academic influence of a scholar was evaluated by citations of his/her publications, which did not take the order of authorship into consideration. Second, this study was restricted to the English language journals. Third, other types of published documents related to the studied field such as review papers were not considered by this research.Originality/valueIn comparison to traditional qualitative analysis such as content analysis, bibliometric analysis is a more objective approach to vividly demonstrate trends and performance of a research field, offers unique insights for its advancement with wider inclusiveness of a larger amount of data.

Developments and Emerging Trends in the Global Treatment of Chronic Rhinosinusitis From 2001 to 2020: A Systematic Bibliometric Analysis.

BackgroundResearch on the treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) has increased in recent decades. We undertook a bibliometric and visualization analysis of studies on CRS treatment to track research trends and highlight current research “hotspots”.MethodsOriginal publications related to CRS treatment were obtained from the Science Citation Index-Expanded (SCI-E) and Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) databases in the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) of Clarivate Analytics between 2001 and 2020. The country/region, institution, author, journal, references, and keywords involved in this topic were extracted using CiteSpace and VOSviewer to identify and analyze the research focus and trends in this field.ResultsIn the previous two decades (especially after 2015), the number of publications on CRS treatment has grown markedly. With regard to publications and access to collaborative networks, the leading country was the USA. High-frequency keywords were “CRS,” “endoscopic sinus surgery,” “sinusitis,” “nasal polyps,” “asthma,” “rhinosinusitis,” “management,” “diagnosis,” “outcomes,” and “quality of life.” Inspection of keyword bursts suggested that “clinical practice guideline,” “adult CRS,” “innate lymphoid cell,” “recurrence,” and “mepolizumab” are the emerging research hotspots. The timeline view of the cluster map revealed that biologic agents have become an up-and-coming “hot topic” in CRS treatment in recent years.ConclusionAcademic understanding of CRS treatment has improved markedly over the past 20 years. We study analyzed the papers objectively, methodically, and comprehensively, and identified hotspots and prospective trends in the field of CRS treatment. These results will aid rhinologists in gaining greater insight into CRS treatment strategies and identifying the changing dynamics of CRS research.

Improving student creativity through digital technology products: A literature review

Teachers have increasingly included digital technology products in their curricula to improve students’ creativity. In order to understand the most widely used digital technology products and their impact on students’ creativity, 61 articles indexed by the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) were reviewed. Our review revealed that the articles investigated six categories of digital technology products (information saving-sharing, digital gaming, digital design, digital writing, robotics, and virtual learning environment), used four methods to measure students’ creativity (students’ creative characteristics, outputs, process, and learning environment), and analyzed five ways that digital technology products influence students’ creativity (increasing motivation, professional activities, higher order thinking, creative cooperation, and cognitive load). Our analysis of the literature indicates that the impact of digital technology products on students’ creativity is mixed and depends on teaching strategies and learning behaviors. We identify research challenges and important areas for future research.

Integration of Neuroscience and Entrepreneurship: A Systematic Review and Bibliometric Analysis.

In this study, we investigated the integration between neuroscience and entrepreneurship. First, we explored the concept of neuroentrepreneurship and the investigation of neuroentrepreneurship using scientific research methods. Second, we constructed a road map for entrepreneurial researchers interested in conducting neuroentrepreneurship-related research. This is an emerging research area; therefore, to more clearly analyze the dynamics of the research trends, we used a bibliometric method to capture patterns in current publications on subjects related to neuroentrepreneurship, examining papers published between 1999 and 2021 using the keywords “neuroscience” and “entrepreneurship” or “neuroentrepreneurship.” To identify the keywords, we used two academic databases—the Social Science Citation Index and Science Citation Index—accessed through the Web of Science website. The three keywords were identified from studies integrating neuroscience with entrepreneurship. After carefully reviewing the research papers, we identified neuroentrepreneurship as a novel research area. The outcomes of this study provide a guide for describing the theoretical connection between neuroscience and entrepreneurship. In the future, this field of study should be empirically investigated.

WeChat uptake of chinese scholarly journals: an analysis of CSSCI-indexed journals

The study of how science is discussed and how scholarly actors interact on social media has increasingly become popular in the field of scientometrics in recent years. While most prior studies focused on research outputs discussed on global platforms, such as Twitter or Facebook, the presence of scholarly journals on local platforms was seldom studied, especially in the Chinese social media context. To fill this gap, this study investigates the uptake of WeChat (a Chinese social network app) by the Chinese scholarly journals indexed by the Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (CSSCI). The results show that 65.3% of CSSCI-indexed journals have created WeChat public accounts and posted over 193 thousand WeChat posts in total. At the journal level, bibliometric indicators (e.g., citations, downloads, and journal impact factors) and WeChat indicators (e.g., clicks, likes, replies, and recommendations) are weakly correlated with each other, reinforcing the idea of fundamentally differentiated dimensions of indicators between bibliometrics and social media metrics. Results also show that journals with WeChat public accounts slightly outperform those without WeChat public accounts in terms of citation impact, suggesting that the WeChat presence of scientific journals is mostly positively associated with their citation impact.

Sustainability in hospitality and tourism: a review of key research topics from 1994 to 2020

PurposeThe purpose of this study is to examine the scientific research related to sustainability in hospitality and tourism from 1994 to 2020 by conducting bibliometric and science mapping analyses and to discuss the implications for prospective research opportunities.Design/methodology/approachKeyword co-occurrences with 2,980 published papers collected from the Web of Science (Social Science Citation Index and Emerging Sources Citation Index) were used for the bibliometric-based analysis. The authors use SciMAT software which offers relevant outputs, such as research themes and graphical outputs (strategic diagrams, cluster networks and science mapping representing the temporal evolution of the themes).FindingsThe findings show that biodiversity conservation, sustainable attitudes, climate change, protected areas, satisfaction and environmental management were the focal motor-themes in the studied periods. Additionally, four areas for future investigation are identified and discussed: sustainable behavior and environmental sustainability; consumption, demand and economic growth; tourism development and strategies; and rural tourism, poverty, ethics and education.Research limitations/implicationsThis analysis shows insightful results processing a high number of published documents. However, the authors recommend further research focused on qualitative literature review for each critical topic.Originality/valueThe authors are unaware of analogous, completed and recent work about sustainability in hospitality and tourism. The authors believe this article is of great value to academics and practitioners because it synthesizes and disseminates the research topic while providing an outstanding basis for identifying research opportunities.

Development of Public Administration Research with a Bibliometric Analysis

Recently, several studies adopted bibliometric methodology to estimate the development of the field of public administration (PA). However, only a small scope of journals was covered in their analyses. Few of those investigated the evolution of the entire field. To make a progress, this paper included a 19-year timespan, 53 journals, and more than 20,000 items for analysis in a bibliometric way. Both the activity and the quality indicators of research results were applied from the bibliometric perspective with 3-year and 5-year citation windows at three aggregation levels including journal, country, and institution by using publications in PA indexed in Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI). “Resident” journal is proposed as a new concept to explore differences between traditional and emerging research forces. The results suggest that resident journals maintain a large advantage over other journals in terms of higher quality journal indicators and citation impact indicators. Moreover, international and national collaboration shows a growth tendency, especially for the international type. The majority of active institutions are from the US and the UK, which indicates their dominant position over others. This study provides more comprehensive comparisons through large-scale data and acknowledged methods to explore the development of PA field research.

Bibliographic coupling: a main path analysis from 1963 to 2020

Introduction. This paper applies a unique citation-based method to analyse the development trajectory of bibliographic coupling research from 1963 to 2020. Method. Main path analysis is applied to a citation network created based on bibliographic data retrieved from the Science Citation Index Expanded and Social Sciences Citation Index of the Web of Science. Analysis. The analysis incorporated two major phases of basic bibliometrics (publication and citation trends, highly cited authors and core journals) and main path analysis. Results. A total of 223 papers on bibliographic coupling by 461 authors were identified. The papers were cited 5,575 times across ninety-three journals. The main paths, consisting of twenty-six documents, were further divided into emergence, opening, and consolidation periods on the basis of their publication date. Conclusions. This paper is the first to present the development trajectory of bibliographic coupling research. It not only emphasises how current state-of-the-art bibliographic coupling developed but also highlights critical studies in the field.

This paper examined the wind energy literature from 1980 to 2021 using bibliometric technique on the Web of Science database Social Science Citation Index (SSCI). Of 2531 publications, 85.89 % are journal articles, and about 99.17 % are published in English. In addition that, the “Environmental Sciences & Ecology” is the most productive research area. The USA is the most productive country based on the total publications, H-index and total citation. Indeed, when to analyze the academic collaborative relationships among countries, the USA and UK are the center of international collaboration and mostly work with China, Spain and Denmark respectively. Furthermore, “Energy Policy” is the most productive journal and “Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews” journal has the highest impact factor. Institution performance analysis is to reveal that the Holland, America, England and China universities are more active in the wind energy researches. Moreover, Devine-Wright P. is the most academically influential author in the wind energy. The article with the highest total citations is titled “Beyond NIMBY’ism: towards an integrated framework for understanding public perceptions of wind energy.” According to keyword cooperation analysis, “power”, “wind energy” and “renewable energy” have the highest link strength among other keywords.

Data and code availability statements in systematic reviews of interventions were often missing or inaccurate: a content analysis

ObjectivesTo estimate the frequency of data and code availability statements in a random sample of systematic reviews with meta-analysis of aggregate data, summarize the content of the statements and investigate how often data and code files were shared. MethodsWe searched for systematic reviews with meta-analysis of aggregate data on the effects of a health, social, behavioral, or educational intervention that were indexed in PubMed, Education Collection via ProQuest, Scopus via Elsevier, or Social Sciences Citation Index and Science Citation Index Expanded via Web of Science during a 4-week period (between November 2, and December 2, 2020). Records were randomly sorted and screened independently by two authors until our target sample of 300 systematic reviews was reached. Two authors independently recorded whether a data or code availability statement (or both) appeared in each review and coded the content of the statements using an inductive approach. ResultsOf the 300 included systematic reviews with meta-analysis, 86 (29%) had a data availability statement, and seven (2%) had both a data and code availability statement. In 12/93 (13%) data availability statements, authors stated that data files were available for download from the journal website or a data repository, which we verified as being true. While 39/93 (42%) authors stated data were available upon request, 37/93 (40%) implied that sharing of data files was not necessary or applicable to them, most often because “all data appear in the article” or “no datasets were generated or analyzed”. DiscussionData and code availability statements appear infrequently in systematic review manuscripts. Authors who do provide a data availability statement often incorrectly imply that data sharing is not applicable to systematic reviews. Our results suggest the need for various interventions to increase data and code sharing by systematic reviewers.
