MODEL RESPON PENDIDIKAN DALAM PERUBAHAN SOSIAL

Social change is a change in the community that includes changes in aspects of the structure of a society, or because of a change of environmental factors, because of the changing komposis population, geographical situation, and the changing system of social relations, as well as changes in social institutions. Social change process includes two stages, the process repeats, reproduces all the things that are accepted as the cultural heritage of our ancestors before, and the process of transformation is a change of human behavior, which is actually the basis of the behavior of structural been embedded in the present and future then. As social institutions, educational institutions must be able to translate the state of soci ety to society itself. When people experience social change, the institution itself should be a modifier of that society.

Periferia que transforma: a cultura de sujeitas/os periféricas/os

Neste artigo recupero elementos do fenômeno urbano periferia para (re)conhecermos a atuação de sujeitas/os periféricas/os na realização de algumas práticas artísticas e que também são recursos políticos e informacionais que geram processos de mudanças sociais ao ressignificar o território periferia. Para isso conheceremos periferia nas pesquisas acadêmicas, o contexto que antecede as periferias e seu surgimento na cidade de São Paulo, a proposição de periferia como sistema cultural, a força da voz e da escuta em práticas culturais periféricas, bem como seu a possibilidade contra-hegemônico dessas práticas.

Law and Civilization: Norbert Elias as a Regulation Theorist

The German sociologist Norbert Elias developed a wide-ranging sociological analysis of the interconnections between processes of state formation, institutional dynamics, and individual subjectivity, or habitus, and the logic of their processes of transformation over time. His work has had significant impact on social scientific thought in a wide variety of fields, including the historical sociology of the self, violence, crime and punishment, organizations, emotions, sexuality, social control, and sport. His influence in legal scholarship, however, has concentrated in criminology, with only sporadic use of his ideas in relation to other topics in law and social science research. This review highlights the ways in which Elias can be read as a theorist of regulation by outlining ( a) the core elements of Elias's “process-figurational” sociology and his analysis of processes of civilization and decivilization; ( b) Elias's observations on law and state formation; ( c) a selection of the sociolegal research related to his sociological approach, in fields such as crime and punishment, evolving modes of regulation, and international relations; and ( d) the potential future directions in which Elias's process-figurational approach might move in sociolegal research and scholarship. These include the emotional dimensions of family law, human rights and humanitarianism, the intersections of legal evolution and broader processes of social change, legal pluralism and legal culture, tort law, constitutionalism, and the rule of law.

Social Reproduction and the Transformation at the Edge of Chaos

In this article, I want to explore some complexities of a politics grounded on social reproduction. Among the many possible objectives of the commons, the most important for the purpose of thinking through a process of trans-formative social change are those that aim at reclaiming the conditions of social reproduction and subject these to new value practices. A politics based on social reproduction would imply the progressive subtraction of social and natural wealth and labor time from the control of capital, and their (re)production and circulation in the processes of the commons. The complexity of this progressive subtraction must of course be pointed out, because the power of capital is founded on a complex assemblage of social relations, resources, discourses and narratives, rights, state policies, and, ultimately, the institutionalized monopoly of violence that aims at protecting and increasing this power. For this reason, any viable strategy of postcapitalist transformation must rely on the disarticulation of these assemblages while at the same time reproducing bodies and ecosystems. Hence the focus on social reproduction.

Learning the Language of Justice Through Play

Video games are often seen as a medium for entertainment. However, there is an emerging genre of video games that are designed to raise awareness about important social issues like poverty, immigration, and war. These games use persuasive strategies for engaging communities in conversations about human rights issues. This paper provides analyses of the educational strategies of twenty-one human rights video games on the Games For Change website. Our analysis reveals that the ways these games increase cognition, increase empathy and teach affective responses, as well as teach players how to participate in social change processes, serve to educate for behavioral change. Through this medium, players are immersed in simulations which give them a language to not only understand the dynamics at play in issues such as deportation, but also offers players insight into how to change these dynamics and why it is important.

Driving Social Change Through Forum Theatre: A Study of Jana Sanskriti in West Bengal, India

This article examines Forum Theatre as a form of participatory communication for social change. Based on an ethnographic study of Jana Sanskriti ( JS), a Forum Theatre group working for over three decades in the eastern Indian state of West Bengal, this article seeks to show how this form of theatre, developed by the Brazilian activist Augusto Boal, subverts the passivity inherent in the communicator–receiver model of the dominant paradigm by activating the critical consciousness of the spectator and triggering a process of social change through dialogue and discussion. JS has been using Forum Theatre to address some of the deeply entrenched social norms in rural West Bengal, including those related to patriarchy, child marriage, domestic violence, and maternal and child health related issues, by extending Boal’s notion of the ‘spect-actor’ to encourage the spectators to become ‘spect-activists’, who then are engaged in community-level work on social change. We suggest that this form of communication is clearly bottom-up, radically participatory, community-based and led by the oppressed, as has been advocated by several scholars working on communication for social change.

Política laboral en las condiciones de la revolución digital.

La sociedad contemporánea está experimentando profundos cambios sociales relacionados con la revolución digital. La transformación digital abarca no sólo las actividades de producción y la modificación de las estructuras de organización de empresas y patrones de negocio, sino también transforma considerablemente la realidad social, dinamiza los procesos de cambios sociales, afecta las conexiones sociales, el mercado de trabajo y la estructura de empleo de la población. La adaptación a las condiciones sociales en vías de la modificación es dolorosa, con graves expensas económicas, políticas y sociales. La revolución digital es capaz convertirse en un controlador de la economía rusa, creando, con todo y esto, riesgos para el mercado de trabajo. Estos aspectos se abordan en el artículo.

Theories, tensions and convergence of sports development

The purpose of this article is to describe the theoretical tendencies, analyze the emerging tensions and propose the points of convergence of the theories of sports development. From an exploratory analysis of the various theoretical approaches described sports development, the emphasis of political tensions, ideological and market were analyzed. Finally, the points of convergence of sports development theories are proposed. It is concluded that sports development adopts different emphases in response to political situations and ideologies and shows its main theoretical advances in the management of elite sport, however, the most extensive evidence focuses on the influence of sport on the processes of social change.

The Complex Ecology of Young People's Community Engagement and the Call for Civic Pedagogues

This paper focuses upon the community engagement of young people growing up in socio-economically disadvantaged areas and the creation of apt civic learning spaces. It is in direct response to public policy within the UK, as in many other democratic countries, giving continued attention to how young people’s active citizenship can be best supported. As a consequence of processes of globalisation, social change and technological advancement it is being increasingly recognised that young citizens face unprecedented challenges in the 21 st century. At the same time young people growing up within areas of socio-economic disadvantage are commonly identified as being most at risk of social exclusion and discouragement with regard to their civic participation. This paper draws from the EngagED research project, a two-year study based in England that used a mixed methods approach to explore the civic action and learning of young people living in both inner city and rural areas of socio-economic disadvantage. It presents an eco-systemic model of the host of factors and agencies that influence young people’s civic identity and patterns of community engagement. It outlines two new civic learning spaces that were created in response to these complex ecologies and from these experiments in ‘pre-figurative practice’ proposes a set of key principles for the effective civic pedagogue. This radical notion of the civic educator moves away from educational strategies that seek to ‘transform’ young people into good future citizens, towards finding personalised ways of supporting young people ‘as’ citizens.

Empowerment as an affective-discursive technology in contemporary capitalism: insights from a play

ABSTRACT Over recent years, an increasing body of research in social and cultural studies has investigated the contemporary processes of social change from the point of view of affective capitalism. In this article, we take under scrutiny one of its technologies, namely, empowerment, by which we mean a state characterised by feelings of strength, ability and power that enable agency. More specifically, we investigate the way empowerment is presented in a cultural product, a play that tells a story about personnel training in a factory, shown in a city theatre in Finland. By linking recent theorisation of affective capitalism with an investigation of the intertextual and interdiscursive relations of the play, we analyse how the factory workers’ pursuit for good life through empowerment recycles and exploits the affective-discursive elements of sexual and spiritual awakening. In conclusion, we discuss the play as a reflection of and on contemporary social processes. By presenting empowerment as a technology employed to interpellate in particular female subjects, the play contributes to the critique of neoliberalism as a gendered project, with women as its ideal subjects.

How Cities Erode Gender Inequality: A New Theory and Evidence from Cambodia

Support for gender equality has increased globally, and studies of this trend usually examine individual- and/or country-level factors. However, this overlooks subnational variation. City-dwellers are more likely to support gender equality in education, employment, leadership, and leisure. This article investigates the causes of rural–urban differences through comparative, qualitative research in Cambodia. The emergence of rural garment factories presents a quasi-natural experiment to test the theory that female employment enhances support for gender equality. Rural female employment may diminish rural–urban differences in gender inequalities or there may be other important aspects of city-living (beyond female employment) that amplify support for gender equality. Drawing on Cambodian fieldwork, I suggest that cities raise the opportunity costs of the male breadwinner model, increase exposure to women in socially valued roles, and provide more associational avenues to collectively contest established practices. Interests, exposure, and association reinforce a snowballing process of social change. By investigating the causes of subnational variation, I advance a new theory of growing support for gender equality.

Gioventù e adultità nella società contemporanea: riflessioni sul dibattito suscitato dai cambiamenti del corso di vita

The processes of social change that affected society since the 1980s had significant effects on the life course. The economic and social transformations following the exit from the “salary society” – the precariousness of work, the rise in unemployment, the lengthening of educational pathways, the welfare state’s withdrawal – made transition to adulthood a longer and more difficult process than in the past, and have also determined a significant change in the adult condition, which today can no longer be considered synonymous with stability and acquired certainties. The debate generated by the changes occurred in the social structure has highlighted the need to rethink the conceptual tools by which the phases of life are defined and interpreted. In this article the terms of the debate are resumed, with particular reference to the thesis of those who argue that, since the changes are such as to determine a radical transformation in the condition of both youth and adulthood, the transitional perspective – traditionally adopted in analyzing the passage between these two phases of life – has to be replaced with an approach capable of accounting for the processes of change, recognizing the existence of a real generational shift.

Uma Análise Generificada de Cuidadoras de Crianças com Desenvolvimento Atípico

O desenvolvimento humano é um fenômeno multifacetado, envolvendo processos de mudanças biológicas, psicológicas, sociais e culturais, ocorridos nas interações entre pessoas e sistemas biológicos, dentro de grupos sociais e ambientes, ao longo do ciclo da vida. O sistema familiar é visto como um dos ambientes centrais para a pessoa em desenvolvimento, dado o estabelecimento de relações entre a criança, desde o início de sua vida, e seus cuidadores. O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar, a partir dos estudos de gênero e do modelo bioecológico do desenvolvimento humano, os papéis desempenhados por cuidadoras de crianças com desenvolvimento atípico, no contexto da Amazônia brasileira. Os estudos sobre o cuidado de crianças com desenvolvimento atípico mostram o quanto esse fator age como um divisor no exercício da parentalidade, dados os aspectos socioculturais de gênero, raça e classe, onde se percebeu a maior parte das pessoas que exercem tais atividades, sendo mulheres. Concluiu-se que as práticas de cuidado ainda são atravessadas por toda uma carga de ações e respostas de uma rede de contextos cujas atividades, continuam sendo vistas como “domínios” femininos.

Ritual and Ambiguities of Social (Dis)order in East New Britain

ABSTRACT This paper explores the namata ritual, common among Tolai people in Papua New Guinea’s East New Britain Province. The namata is often presented as an event that contributes towards social order, both in the ethnographic record and by Tolai themselves. The namata is often experienced however as being highly ambiguous as various actors use the ritual to make sense of and intervene in hazardous processes of social change. In particular, the namata is a site where anxieties about perceived breakdowns of the socially cohesive power of reciprocal obligation are expressed and attempts are made to halt their corrosion. Paradoxically however these attempts are made from a position that is often experienced by those that they attempt to discipline as themselves being expressive of that very breakdown of reciprocal obligation, thus intensifying the sense that the namata has now become a site for the creation of uncertainty rather than social stability.

Stakeholders Collaborations Process Towards Community Empowerment: The Success Story West Java CSR Forum

Complex issues in sustainable development require partnership and collaboration between governments and local communities. Long process require in building partnerships and collaboration is one of the key strategy of social change process which also crucial to establish continuum cooperation and partnership. The study aims to examine and understand the CSR forum where collaboration and community participation are the main activities involve.by studying the success of the West Java CSR Forum as a case study. The study employs the qualitative approach that includes in-depth interviews and focus group discussions. In addition, focus group discussions are conducted with members of the community, who are the beneficiaries of the programme besides, the group consisted of opinion leaders and members from non-governmental organization (NGO). Furthermore, the data process by using the NVivo programme in order to manage, analyse and interpret data collected from various sources.. Finally, the study found the government as the main driving force to facilitate the CSR partnership This study also found the ongoing dialogue is crucial as a useful strategic tool in the Forum’s communication system among the member in order to achieve mutual trust and understanding to creates a strong synergi in achieving sustainable development.

The extended nervous system: affect regulation, somatic and social change processes associated with mindful parenting

BackgroundA theoretical model of mindful parenting has the potential to succinctly summarise its various change processes. The primary aim of this study was to investigate some of the change processes associated with mindful parenting, namely, the affect regulation, somatic and social change processes. A secondary aim was to verify whether clinical insights are consistent with the change processes identified in a systematic review of mindful parenting.MethodInterpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) was used to analyse semi-structured interviews with four Australian clinicians delivering Mindful Parenting (MP) programs. The clinicians had extensive personal meditation practice. This qualitative study is part of a mixed methods study, which commenced with a quantitative systematic review.ResultsSix higher-order themes identified as change processes included reflective functioning, attachment, cognitive, affective, somatic and social change processes.ConclusionThe anchor is a new theoretical model summarising the change processes associated with mindful parenting. The mother portrayed as the extended nervous system for the infant is a neologism that also has not been previously mentioned in the literature. Given the limitations with the small sample and potential bias with interpretation, the anchor is a starting point to developing a theoretical model of mindful parenting. Future research with larger sample sizes and objective measures is needed to confirm whether the anchor is a reasonable summary of the change processes.

 Humanistically oriented, qualitative educational studies allow learning about and supporting the processes of social change, including the development of schools directed towards the implementation of the idea of inclusive education. Evaluation research seems to be particularly useful for achieving this goal. The results presented in the article are a part of the extensive material collected in field research, which was conducted in the years 2015-2018 in eight schools of Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. The aim of the study was to describe school community activity and the subjective and intersubjective structure of the meaning of entities creating space for the implementation of students’ educational needs. The article presents the beliefs of parents and teachers on the educational partnership of schools and family, as well as barriers in its development, reconstructed on the basis of data originated from group discussions conducted in one of the schools that participated in the research.

Co-developing beliefs and social influence networks\u2014towards understanding socio-cognitive processes like Brexit

A model of mutual influence is presented where the structure of individual’s beliefs and the social structure both matter. The model thus combines processes of belief change base on Thagard’s (Behav Brain Sci 12:435–467, 1989) theory of mental coherence with plausible processes of social network change. This combination of cognitive and social processes has outcomes that are qualitatively different from either only cognitive or only social processes, which shows the importance of studying these together. An illustration that moves towards representing the processes involved in Brexit is also exhibited to show the potential of this kind of simulation. Whilst only conceived of as an illustration of a kind of model, it is consistent with a number of observed patterns in opinion poll data, with some social and cognitive theories and only consists of plausible processes. This kind of model could also be used to relate and integrate different kinds of evidence into a coherent framework in the shape of more developed simulations.

Leading Factors of Sustainable Rural Tourism Development: Case of Georgia

Purpose: This study is aimed to identify the leading factors for the tourism industry sustainable development in a less developed country. Design/Methodology/Approach: Sustainable development can be defined as a process of economic and social changes as well as an agreed and coordinated process of natural resource exploitation, direction of investment, scientific and technological development, personal development and institutional change enhance the present and future potential of human needs. In this paper, we have tried to show the factors contributing to the development of the tourism industry. These recommendations make it possible to promote the sustainable development and rapid resuscitation of the tourism industry. In many ways it is about ensuring the quality of life of people. The design of the article includes theoretical explanations regarding sustainable development with emphasis in the tourism industry. Findings: There are proposed more effective policies promoting the industry in addition to specific projects improving the infrastructure and the social feelings about tourism Practical Implications: It was defined a set of measures that can have a positive impact, able to influence the industry in a positive way regarding its direct and indirect effects in the state, regional and local economies of tourism destinations. Originality/Value: This is an important contribution describing and identifying issues related to the Georgian tourism sector. It is a valuable piece of information for policy-makers to adopt the studies proposals for the further sustainable development of the industry.
