Kajian Perilaku Pengguna (User) Terhadap Penggunaan Sistem Informasi Industri Kecil Menengah (SI-IKM) Kota Tegal

Information has an important role for human life, therefore every human being needs information in order to support her daily life. The purpose of this research is to know User Behavior toward Small Medium Industry Information System (SI-IKM) Tegal With The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) Theory Approach. The population of this research is the user of IKM information system. Samples taken in this study are employees of Department of Labor, Industry of Tegal City, surveyors and perpetrators of IKM using the information system. Sampling technique in this research is purposive sampling. The results of this study in accordance with the approach of Technology Acceptance Model Model (TAM), but for Perceived Usefulness variables have no significant effect on Attitude Toward Using variable.

Strategy for developing of small medium industry to creative industry in special culinary, Sarolangun Regency

This study aims to obtain a description of small and medium industries in the area of regional culinary Sarolangun, internal and external factors and formulate strategies to develop the industry to become a creative industry. The method that is used SWOT analysis, descriptive and qualitative analysis. Based on the research result found that the culinary that can be developed is coconut bread, dodol, kipang cake and curry fish curry fish. The weakness of internal factors lies in working capital, human resources, and external factors lie in marketing and institutional. The recommended strategy is to turn around. Coal blending preparation for non-carbonized coal briquettes

Referring to the national energy policy targets for the years 2025, the government has launched the use of coal briquettes as an alternative energy replacement for kerosene and firewood. Non-carbonized briquettes in the form of coal briquettes as well as bio-coal briquettes are used in many small-medium industries and households, and are rarely used by large industries. The standard quality of coal briquettes used as raw material for non-carbonized briquettes is a minimum calorific value of 4,400 kcal/kg (adb); total sulfur at a maximum of 1% (adb), and water content at <12% (adb). The formation of coal deposits depends on the origin of the coal-forming materials (plants), the environment of deposition, and the geological conditions of the surrounding area, so that the coal deposits in each region will be different as well as the amount and also the quality. Therefore, the quantity and the quality of coal in each area are different to be eligible in the making of briquettes to do blending. In addition to the coal blending, it is also necessary to select the right materials in the making of coal briquettes and bio-coal briquettes. The formulation of the right mixture of material in the making of briquettes, can be produced of good quality and environmental friendly.

Evaluation of work posture and quantification of fatigue by Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA)

Work related musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), poor body postures, and low back injuries are the most common problems occurring in many industries including small-medium industries. This study presents assessment and evaluation of ergonomic postures of material handling worker. That evaluation was carried out using REBA (Rapid Entire Body Assessment). REBA is a technique to quantize the fatigue experienced by the worker while manually lifting loads. Fatigue due to abnormal work posture leads to complaints of labor-perceived pain. REBA methods were used to an assessment of working postures for the existing process by a procedural analysis of body postures involved. This study shows that parts of the body have a high risk of work are the back, neck, and upper arms with REBA score 9, so action should be taken as soon as possible. Controlling actions were implemented to those process with high risk then substantial risk reduction was achieved.

Design Of Competitiveness Index Software of Food Small Medium Industries (SMI) With Diamond Porter Model Adaptation

Small Medium Enterprises (SME) in food was contributed 13,15% on Gross Domestic Product (GDP) 2013. However, SMEs in food had the problems in the management organization that could affect the product competitiveness. The local SMEs in food is less competitive compared with the similar foreign overseas product. In order to anticipate the negative impact of the broader market, the competitiveness measurement was needed to be conducted on understanding the strength of SMEs in food. Competitive measurement can be done by creating web application to reduce measuring process. This research using Designing methods (system engineering) using diamond porter model as competitiveness measurement method of SME in foods. Web application functioned as SME in foods grading, competitiveness weighing, SME in foods index measurements and City SMEs index measurements. Index value that were yielded grouped into three categories which were high, medium, and low. There was a color indicator on index value display that functioned to classifying competitiveness index value. ID was needed to access this web application, those things intended to guard the safety of data contained in this web application.

Analysis of Dominant Factors in Improving Performance of Small Medium Industry in the Field Marine and Fishing Processing

The existence of global market resulted in the increasing number of business actors, especially Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Currently SMEs are experiencing increasingly fierce market competition. Even the competition is in an increasingly complex condition. Faced with this condition, SMEs are required to have the ability to survive and improve its performance. The population of this research is the perpetrators of SMEs in the field of fishery and marine processing business in Lontar Village, Banten Province. The sample are participant of 46 SME actors. Technical sampling is purposive sampling. The data in this study is the primary data collected through questionnaires. The result are (1)Competence leader (KOM) has a positive influence on business performance variables (KIN) with a significant value of 0.070 at a significance level of 0.10.(2). Innovation (INO) has a positive influence on business performance variables (KIN) with a 0.000 significance level at a significant level of 0.05.(3). Entrepreneurship (WIRA) has a positive influence on business performance variables (KIN) with a synergy value of 0.00 at a significant level of 0.05.(4). Investment (INV) has no effect on business performance with significance of 0.223.(5). The moderator variables of entrepreneurs have an influence in contributing to the leadership competence of performance. With a significant value of 0.032.(6). The moderator variables of entrepreneurs have an influence in contributing to innovation on the performance of Entrepreneurship, with a significant value of 0.000 at the 0.05 level (7). The moderator variables of the entrepreneur have no influence in contributing to investment on the performance of the company. with a significant value of 0.060 at the 005 level.

STRATEGI KEBERHASILAN USAHA DENGAN PENDEKATAN MOTIVASI USAHA SERTA KEMAMPUANUSAHA PADA INDUSTRI MIKRO, KECIL DAN MENENGAH (IMKM) MAKANAN RINGAN DI KOTA SERANG

This research aims at identifying the strategic of business succes through business motivation approach and entrepreneurship ability in snack’s small-medium industries (SMIs) in Serang City. There were 50 SMIs sampled. The methods used in this research are survey method. The result showed that business motivation (X1) and entrepreneurship ability (X2) simultaneously influencing the business succes of snack’s small-medium industries (SMIs) in Serang City (Y). Whereas, partially all the indicators give both positive and significant affect the business succes of snack’s small-medium industries (SMIs) in Serang City. All the indicators have a contribution factor in this research. Based on Importance and Performance Analysis (IPA) there are three atributte that must be prioritised, which are is practical knowledge of design, processing, accounting, administration and idea, proud to be independet (capital and management), and profit.Keywords : Business Success, Business Motivation and Entrepreneurship ability.

Dehydration of Traditional Dried Instant Noodle (Mee Siput) Using Controlled Temperature & Humidity Dryer

Drying process is an essential step to produce instant noodles. Yet, the industries especially Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), is seeking for an efficient method to dry the noodles. This paper discusses the performance of an invented drying system which employed heating and humidifying process. The drying system was tested using 30 kilogram of the raw noodle known as “Mee Siput”. Temperature controlled system were used in the study to control the temperature of the drying process and prevent the dried noodles from damage by maintaining the temperature of lower than 80°C. The analysis shows that the system was drastically decreased the humidity from 80% to 40% just after 200 minutes of the drying process. The complete dehydration time of noodle has also decreased to only 4 hours from 16 hours when using traditional drying system without sacrificed the good quality of the dried noodle. In overall, the invented system believed to increase the production capacity of the noodle, reduce cost of production which would highly beneficial for Small Medium Industries (SMEs) in Malaysia.

Improving Entrepreneurial Innovations for Sustaining Small Medium Hospitality Industry Growth in Ghana

This study talks about improving entrepreneurial innovations of small medium hospitality industry (SMHI) in other to sustain it growth in Ghana. Successful stories about SMEs exist but are rare and this causes pauses for concern. Many researchers have established that innovations bring several benefits in countries that are industrialized. Responses from SMHI managers/owners indicate they totally agree small medium hospitality industry is better in relation to one's determination to introduces new service styles and product, good customer service, innovative in selling/ marketing and confidence in trying new service styles. We therefore, recommend management step up their innovative abilities by taking pride in customer needs /customer satisfaction as this will earn small medium hotels new and repeat customers in a highly perishable and competitive business environment.

PENGARUH PELATIHAN DAN KREATIVITAS TERHADAP PENGEMBANGAN USAHA PADA USAHA KECIL DAN MENENGAH DI PERKAMPUNGAN INDUSTRI KECIL PULOGADUNG JAKARTA TIMUR

This research aims to determine influence the training and creativity on business development at small and medium enterprises small village industry Pulogadung East Jakarta. The research used survey method with correlational approach. Data recording, questionnaire are research technique. This research used the classic assumption test, multiple regression analysis and hypothesis test. Based on the results showed positive effect of training on business development with tcount (3,600) > ttable(1,697), positive effect of creativity on business development with tcount (3,185) > ttable(1,697) and positive effect of training and creativity on business development with Fcount(16,688) > Ftabie(3,316). Influence variations of two independent variables can be determined based on the R with value 0,527. This, 52,7% variation in business development was affected by the training and creativity and remaining were influenced by other factors outside the research model. Simultaneously, the strength of the relation between the variable of business development, training and creativity was strong, amount for 0,726. Key Words: training, creativity, business development

Study on Composition and Generation of Food Waste in Makanan Ringan Mas Industry

Food waste management is a major problem for most food premises in Malaysia. This study was conducted at one of the Small Medium Industries (SMIs) called Makanan Ringan Mas Industry that is located in Parit Kuari Darat, Parit Raja, Johor. This premise generates food waste almost every day including processed food waste (chips and coconut candy) and raw food waste (banana peels, tapioca peels, breadfruit peels and grated coconut). The objective of the study was to determine the waste generation and composition of food waste generated by the premise. Food waste collected from the premise once a week and tested for moisture content and density. The results demonstrated that Makanan Ringan Mas Industry generated more raw food waste compared to processed food waste. Banana peels recorded the highest amount at 27.15kg per month compared to other food waste. To conclude, banana peels were found to be the highest component in the food waste composition by Makanan Ringan Mas Industry whereas breadfruit peels were found to be the lowest.

Pengaruh Motivasi Usaha terhadap Keberhasilan Usaha dengan Kemampuan Usaha sebagai Variabel Mediasi pada Industri Kecil Menengah Makanan Ringan Priangan Timur-Indonesia

. Small medium industries (hereafter SMIs) contributed meant to the national economic growth, as the driving regional development in technology, extending business opportunities, employment opportunities and the increase in added value. Research purposes: analyze the influence business motivation in the ability of SMIs businesses; analyze the influence of the ability of SMIs businesses to SMIs business successful; analyze the influence business motivation to SMIs business successful through variable the ability of SMIs businesses as mediation. The research method is survey with the research form of descriptive verification. 150 SMIs manager ware observed using closed questionnaire through the test of path analysis. Research results that business motivation is affecting significantly and proportionally (positive) toward the ability of SMIs businesses, the higher business motivation would be followed by high of the ability of SMIs businesses. The ability of SMIs businesses is significantly and proportionally (positive) affect the SMIs business successful, the higher the ability of SMIs businesses would be followed by high of the SMIs business successful. The business motivation to influence the SMIs business successful through the ability of SMIs businesses as mediation is significant or acceptable, so business motivation influences the SMIs business successful through the ability of SMIs businesses.

Aplication of Technology 4-Axis CNC Milling for Manufacturing Artistic Ring

This paper describes the efforts of writers to make use of technological artistic CAD-CAM in the manufacture of the products of artistic rings small medium industry. Methods used in this paper is Substractive Prototyping namely manufacture of product master ring wax with the utilization of 4-axis CNC milling technology. Investment casting is used in this paper to form the silver ring with relief. Investment casting process is conducted in a department of Large Hall of Culture and Batik Yogyakarta. Product attributes and the selection of the artistic design of the ring will be made the object of research derived from the brainstorming process is conducted in conjunction with the creative team. The final results of this paper suggest that the method of investment casting and prototyping substractive capable of producing 6 product artistic ring (Helmet Trail Ring,Iron Man Ring,Dart Vader Ring, Sansekerta Ring, Engineer Ring,and Harley Skull Ring) made from wax and silver. Quality product made from wax ring master recognized with greater precision, detail, cheap and accelerating stages of Investment casting compared to master products made from vero white.

Pengaruh Strategi Orientasi Wirausaha dan Orientasi Pasar Pengaruhnya Terhadap Kinerja Perusahaan UMKM di Kota Surabaya

Abstract: The aims of this study to analyze the influence of Entrepreneur orientation and market orientation to corporate performance of Small Medium Scale Industries (SMEs) in Surabaya. This study include descriptive exploratory methodes with taking 75 sample of SMEs with the owner or manager as respondents, data gathered by using questionnaire instrument. The results showed that the effect of variable- entrepreneurial oriented is significantly influence to corporate performance, but the marketing orientation dit not significantly affect to corporate performance of SMEs in the city of Surabaya, while the hypothesis test using F-test shows that there is significantly influence between Entrepreneur and Market oriented to corporate performance because the value of probability significant found smaller than alfa 0.05, this mean that the SMEs in Surabaya should adopt Entreprenuer oriented for continue the operation of their business. Besides, SMEs also should adopt market oriented to improve performance and highly competitive, especially in the face of the implementation of the Asean Economic Community in the end of 2015.Key words: Entreprenuer Oriented, Market Oriented and SMEs performance.

Working Posture Assessment in a Small and Medium Industry (SMI): Automotive Repair Facility

In automotive repair facilities worldwide, technicians are exposed to various ergonomic risk factors such as excessive exertions, awkward and static postures. The exposure of several ergonomic risk factors can lead to work related musculoskeletal complaints. This study was set out to examine working postures encountered by automotive service technicians in a small medium industry automotive workshop. A total of 240 observations (n=240) were made, and five types of working positions were identified, namely the “Underneath Vehicle” (vehicle on floor),“Side of Vehicle” (vehicle on floor), “Under the Hood”, “Side of Vehicle” (vehicle on lift), and “Underneath Vehicle” (vehicle on lift). Two positions, which were the “Underneath Vehicle” (vehicle on floor), and the “Side of Vehicle” (vehicle on floor) recorded 69 and 60 occurrences respectively. These two positions posed a significant ergonomic injury risk since the upper limbs, shoulders, spinal flexion combined with static holding were present in those two positions.

Open Innovation Model: Empowering Entrepreneurial Orientation and Utilizing Network Resources as Determinant for Internationalization Performance of Small Medium Agroindustry

Abstract Agroindustry is one of the sectors which provides a big support to national economy. However, the added value given by this sector is still low, particularly for processed products, most of the products exported by this sector are raw materials. Agroindustry sector in Indonesia is generally dominated by Small Medium Industries (SMIs) that still have to face various limitations in order to give value added of the product both of manufacturing side and management aspect. Tendency of market globalization and trade liberalization has opened the business opportunities for entrepreneurs in agro industry sector to do many international activities, among others is through exports. Demand of the global era requires entrepreneurs who are willing to face risks, innovative, proactive and compete aggressively to be able to seek new opportunities and increase competition advantages. Innovation is needed to provide value added to agroindustry products through value creation, so that raw material exports could be reduced. Entrepreneurs can utilize open source that involves external parties by utilizing network resources. The paper proposes conceptual model which can be used to conduct empirical study in the development of agro industry sector. The modelling is developed on the basis of empirical study and concepts related to entrepreneurial orientation, network resource and open innovation/co-innovation that can be used to increase the performance of SMIs.

PROCESS IMPROVEMENT BY IMPLEMENTATION OF KAIZEN AS A QUALITY TOOL WITHIN DEFINED CONSTRAINTS: A CASE STUDY IN MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY

Kaizen is a concept that focuses on improving a work area or an organization in incremental steps. The first well-known and most frequently cited proponent of kaizen was Imai, who wrote KAIZEN – The Key to Japan’s Competitive Success (1986. This paper illustrates about kaizen case study in Small Medium Industries (SMI) Company that is ABC Company, which produce non woven fabrics. This case study is focused on reducing material wastage. Kaizen steps are used as guidelines and PDCA Cycle is choosing as problem solving approach to conduct the case study. The properly tools and techniques such as why, Work Instruction Sheet, Pareto diagram, Process Mapping, PDCA Cycle and brainstorming were used. The kaizen implementation has reduced the of time losses More than that, sales order processing lead time and production lead time was also reduced. These results have proved the effectiveness of kaizen methodology. Proposed Conceptual Model Internationalization of Small Medium Industries (SMIs) in Indonesia: The Relationship between Entreprenurial Orientation, Network Capital, Degree of Internationalization and Business Performance

The proposed model of SMIs in conducting internationalization business is to investigate the entrepreneurial orientation and network capital in influencing international business and its impact on business performance in SMIs. This model also uses the size of SMIs as moderator variables that influence the degree of internationalization and business performance. This model can be implemented for research areas of internationalization of small medium enterprises especially for developing country like Indonesia.

Graphical tools for production planning in small medium industries (SMIs) based on pinch analysis

Small medium industries (SMIs) routinely face supply variations in their production cycle. Such firms are typically characterised by limited resources and insufficiency of funds. Thus, SMIs need simple solutions to cope with the production planning issues. Pinch analysis has been proven as a strategy for planning of efficient use of scarce resources. Recently, it has been extended to various production planning problems. In this paper, a simple novel graphical approach is proposed to address two common production planning problems in SMI's, which are warehouse space allocation and production capacity planning. Two industrial case studies are shown in this paper to illustrate the proposed approach.
