The Role of Universities in Achieving Sustainable Development

The study sought to identify the role of the university in sustainable development, through a social survey of a sample of 70 individuals. The results showed that the university contributes significantly to promoting sustainable development with an average rating of 3.55. The university also plays an important role in achieving sustainable development through activities related to community service and research, which focus on the importance of optimal use of energy and the application of new methods in waste recycling, and spreading awareness among students about the importance of the environment and caring for it. The results also showed no difference between males and females in their social responsibility towards environmental sustainability. Accordingly, the study recommended the importance of developing curricula that focus on environmental awareness, as well as cooperation in this field with all sectors.

Peningkatan Kapasitas UMKM Keripik di Desa Tunggulsari melalui Pemberdayaan Pencatatan Keuangan

This community service activity aims to improve the financial management ability of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) chips in Tunggulsari Village, Brangsong District, Kendal, Central Java. Given the limited access to technology, the mentoring approach is carried out flexibly, combining manual and digital methods. Training focuses on using notebooks, simple tables, and calculators. For MSMEs that have access to smartphones, training is given on using simple financial recording applications. The activity results showed a significant improvement in the ability of MSMEs to record transactions and understand simple financial statements. Despite the obstacles to access to technology, this activity has succeeded in increasing financial capacity with an adaptive approach. Thus, it is hoped that MSMEs in Tunggulsari Village can make better business decisions and improve the competitiveness of MSME chips.

Factors associated with the revolving door phenomenon in patients with schizophrenia: results from an acute psychiatric hospital in Romania

BackgroundThe revolving door phenomenon refers to patients with frequent hospital admissions and emerged after deinstitutionalization reforms have been implemented. Schizophrenia is a severe and debilitating mental disorder and has frequently been identified as one of the most prevalent disorders among revolving door patients. Therefore, this research aimed to identify socio-demographic and clinical factors associated with the revolving door phenomenon in patients with schizophrenia.MethodsWe conducted an observational and retrospective cohort study and collected data from the medical records of individuals admitted to the largest psychiatric hospital in Romania during a 2-year period. Patients with three or more admissions during a 12-month period were identified as revolving door.ResultsOf the total of 635 patients included in this study, 108 met the criteria for revolving door. Patients had a mean age of 44.55±12.83 years and most of them were single (81.7%) and receiving a disability pension (68.7%) and had an illness duration of more than 5 years (81.9%). Male gender (p=0.000), younger age (p<0.05), presence of psychiatric comorbidity (p<0.05), substance use disorder (p=0.000) and alcohol use disorder (p<0.01) were associated with the revolving door patients. A binary linear logistic regression revealed that male gender (OR=1.92, 95%CI:1.21-3.08), shorter hospitalization (OR=0.982, 95%CI:0.964-1.000), substance use disorder (OR=2.47, 95%CI:1.16-5.26), verbal (OR=1.44, 95%CI:1.05-1.98) and physical (OR=1.331, 95%CI:1.017-1.744) aggression were predictive factors for frequent use of inpatient services.ConclusionsThe results may facilitate development of future reform policies aimed at reducing the revolving door phenomenon, including implementing transitional care interventions between hospital and community services.

Improving Teacher Competence in The Implementation of The Merdeka Curriculum: an Intensive Mentoring Approach in Madrasah

The purpose of this community service activity is to provide training to teachers at Madrasah under the auspices of the Yayasan Pendidikan Ridlol Walidain (YPRW) Nahdlatul Wathan Diniah Islamiyah (NWDI) Batu Bangka in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. The methods of implementing the mentoring that will be carried out are as follows: 1) a Workshop on compiling the madrasah unit curriculum, 2) a Workshop on compiling learning objectives, learning objective flows, and teaching modules, and 3) a Workshop on compiling projects to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students. In addition to the workshop, a mentoring program for the implementation of the three workshops was also carried out. The evaluation results of this community service activity are as follows: 1) 90% of teachers stated that this activity was very satisfied with this community service pattern, 2) the quality of the curriculum products produced was classified as very good, 3) 75% of teachers were able to produce products in the form of TP, ATP, and teaching modules, and 4) the P5 team was able to produce P5 modules with a very good category. From the evaluation results, it can be said that this madrasa could be an example of implementing the Merdeka curriculum.

Program Pemberdayaan Keluarga Dhuafa “Pengembangan Usaha Nasi Uduk Ibu Sedah” Warga Meruyung Depok

The empowerment program for the underprivileged family of “Ibu Sedah” in Meruyung, Depok, aims to enhance economic independence through an educational approach based on Muhammadiyah values. This program was implemented by students and lectures from the Communication Studies Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta as part of the Al-Islam Kemuhammadiyahan course. The study adopted the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method to ensure active involvement of the beneficiares. The main subject of this program is Ibu Sedah, a 61st year old single mother who relies on an uncertain income from her nasi uduk business. Throgh surveys, interviews, and selection, the implementation team identified her primary needs. Activies in this program included fundraising, provision of business capital, as well as training in business management and educational motivation for her child. As a result, Ibu Sedah’s bussiness capacity improved and became more sustainable, while her child received educational support. This program highlights the importance of synergy between education, emprowerment, and community service in addressing poverty. The study serves as a reference for continuing similar programs with broader scope and sustainable approaches.

A Review of Robots in Caring for the Elderly

This literature review mainly talks about robots in caring for the elderly. With the intensification of global ageing, the number of elderly people is constantly increasing. The growing elderly population and the escalation of low fertility have led to certain nursing challenges. In order to deal with these problems and reduce the pressure on nursing staff, many caring robots are put in use. The elderly are the primary target of care provided by caring robots, both emotionally and medically. They have the ability to provide emotional support to the elderly as well as take care of the day-to-day activities of the aged. When it comes to providing care for elderly people, robots too face a few challenges. However, as caring robots are used more and more, people have a more positive understanding of them. In the future, caring robots will be more intelligent. Not only are they useful for personal care, but they also play a significant role in the delivery of community and social services.

TRANSFORMASI PENGELOLAAN SAMPAH RUMAH TANGGA : PENDEKATAN ZERO WASTE MENUJU PERUBAHAN PERILAKU BERBASIS LINGKUNGAN

The problem of household waste management is one of the pressing environmental issues in various countries, including Indonesia. The high volume of waste that is not properly processed contributes to environmental pollution, such as soil, water, and air pollution. Tasik Rejo Village is one of the villages that focuses on waste management, this village has a BUMDes that is active in waste management but is only piled up at the TPS. Through Community Service activities, the service team carries out activities to change waste so that it can be utilized properly. The purpose of this service is to provide education and skills to Tasik Rejo village residents about the importance of maintaining environmental sustainability and a healthy lifestyle through waste processing, one of which is into fertilizer, so that waste can have value that can be utilized. This service method uses the ABCD method where the community plays an active role in every stage. Based on the results of the service, it can be said that the community is not fully aware of the importance of sorting waste, therefore further assistance is needed, but this service activity has a positive influence on changes in healthy living behavior in the community.

Revitalisasi Taman Kanak-Kanak untuk Mendorong Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini di Daerah Pedesaan

The purpose of this community service is focused on the revitalization of kindergartens in rural areas as an effort to stimulate public interest in early childhood education. This upgraded kindergarten is believed to be able to increase students' motivation and interest in learning. The method used in this study is based on a descriptive approach to identify problems in the target area. Data was collected using qualitative methods including interviews and field observations. The data was then analyzed to be used as a basis for decision making and choosing the right actions to address the problem. Practical application, kindergarten revitalization plays a major role in children's learning experiences. These spaces provide comfortable outdoor activities and act as learning stimuli for children to gain knowledge about nature. Furthermore, attractive landscapes can encourage people to enroll their children in early childhood education. The conclusion of this community service aims to revitalize kindergartens to create comfortable outdoor spaces and act as learning aids for students. This service has succeeded in providing a better landscape for kindergartens that contributes to a broader student learning experience. A more attractive view gives the school a new look to attract public interest in early childhood education.

Towards stunting-free villages and independent MSMEs: Synergy of nutrition education, MSME assistance, and community empowerment

The 2024 Thematic Community Service Program (KKN-T) conducted in Juntikedokan Village, Indramayu, aimed to address key social issues while empowering local communities. The program focused on three main objectives: reducing stunting rates through nutritional education and support, enhancing the marketability of local SMEs via digital marketing strategies, and improving primary education with interactive digital tools. Through collaborative efforts with local institutions, including Posyandu, Puskesmas, and schools, significant strides were made in addressing these challenges. Key activities included nutrition counseling, SME branding assistance, and digital literacy workshops, complemented by community-building events such as clean-up drives, religious education, and fitness sessions. This program not only fostered knowledge transfer but also strengthened community ties, leaving a sustainable impact on Juntikedokan Village.

Sosialisasi Literasi Matematika PISA Berbasis Etnomatematika Pulau-Pulau Kecil Perbatasan pada Siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama di Pulau Letti

The mathematical literacy of Indonesian students based on the results of the PISA test held in 2022 was ranked 70th out of 81 countries participating in the test with a score of 366, which is far below the average score of 472. The results of the PISA test show the low mathematical literacy skills of students in Indonesia. This prompted the community service team to carry out socialization activities on PISA mathematical literacy based on ethnomathematics of small border islands on Letti Island. This socialization aims to introduce PISA mathematical literacy and provide practice and experience for students in working on mathematical literacy problems based on small border islands. This community service activity was carried out in Pulau Letti District on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. This socialization activity was attended by junior high school students in Pulau Letti District. The level of success in this socialization activity was measured using a questionnaire on the level of satisfaction and understanding of participants regarding the mathematical literacy material. The results of the questionnaire assessment showed that the socialization participants were very satisfied with the process of implementing the activity and were able to understand the socialization material very well. This activity is expected to be a sustainable.

UPAYA PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN BACA AL-QUR’AN DENGAN METODE IQRO DI DESA WARINGIN JAYA, KECAMATAN BOJONG GEDE, BOGOR

Community Service Activities in the form of training and mentoring to eradicate illiteracy of the Qur'an using the Iqra method aims to empower the community through coaching, training and mentoring programs to eradicate illiteracy of the Qur'an using the Iqra method in Waringin Jaya Village. This PKM activity was carried out on July 15 - September 25, 2023 at one of the pengajian held in Waringin Jaya, the number was small due to clashes with activities at school and exams held at school. The method of implementing this Community Service activity was in the form of socialization, training and mentoring, which involved students to play an active role in the activity. Based on the results of the implementation of the PKM activity in the form of training and mentoring to eradicate illiteracy of the Qur'an using the Iqra method in Waringin Jaya Village, it can be concluded that the Community Service activities carried out by the Lecturer Team were enthusiastically attended by the participants. This can be seen from the high level of attendance and the results of the evaluation of achievements during the activity, and there were no serious difficulties for participants in understanding the material presented. There was good preparation by the Community Service team and support from stakeholders. This activity went well according to expectations and achieved the planned achievements, such as increasing participants' understanding of the program of coaching, training and mentoring to eradicate illiteracy of the Qur'an using the Iqra method and growing awareness of the importance of maintaining and maintaining the program of coaching, training and mentoring to eradicate illiteracy of the Qur'an. With the Iqra method used by KPM students, it can improve the quality of the younger generation in facing the flow of globalization and for the long term, and is able to produce a creative Quranic generation and provide inspiration for Islamic propagation in Waringin Jaya Village, Bojong Gede District, Bogor.

Inovasi Penyemaian Pakcoy Menggunakan Karton Telur Bersama Ibu-Ibu di Desa Sinar Bhakti

The main problem faced by women in Sinar Bhakti Village is the lack of knowledge and skills in pakcoy seedling using efficient and eco-friendly growing media. Egg cartons were chosen as an innovative solution due to their affordability, availability, and ability to retain the moisture needed by the seeds. This community service program aimed to enhance participants' skills in utilizing egg cartons for pakcoy seedling to support sustainable household farming. The methods used included demonstration-based training and hands-on practice, complemented by interactive discussions on local resource management. The results showed that participants were able to understand and effectively apply seedling techniques, with egg cartons proving to accelerate early growth and minimize water usage. In addition to improving individual skills, this activity fostered awareness of the importance of local innovation and waste utilization for family economic development. It contributed to local food security and strengthened the role of women in Sinar Bhakti Village in creatively utilizing available resources.

Health Education and Socialization about Physical Activities/Sports in RW 06 Tanjung Merpati Village Kembayan District Sanggau Regency

This activity aims to plan community service activities to solve problems obtained based on situation analysis, prioritizing problems by providing health education to the community to always maintain health. The method used consists of preparation, implementation, and closing. Preparation was carried out with various activities including field surveys, problem identification, approaches to the community, situation analysis, and proposal preparation carried out in August 2024. Implementation was carried out in September 2024 with counseling preparation activities and counseling activities through the delivery of material on Physical Activity/exercise. Closing activities are carried out by compiling reports. Implementing community service activities on Health Education Education on physical activity/exercise in the RW 06 area of Tanjung Merpati Village, Kembayan District, Sanggau Regency can be carried out well, smoothly and conducive. The results showed that community knowledge about the meaning, causes, symptoms, prevention, treatment, and impact of physical activity/exercise had increased. This community service activity is expected to bring real benefits to the Tanjung Merpati village community and become an inspiration for similar efforts in various regions.

PERANAN KULIAH KERJA NYATA (KKN) MAHASISWA DALAM KEHIDUPAN BERMASYARAKAT

Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) is a strategic program that plays a significant role in community empowerment as well as student capacity development. This study examines the role of KKN in community life based on a literature review. The results show that KKN contributes to the development of community potential in the fields of economy, education, and health through innovations brought by students, such as training for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), literacy improvement, and health education.

Differentiated Learning Training for Elementary School Teachers as An Implementation of The Merdeka Curriculum

This community service activity aims to provide differentiated learning training for elementary school teachers in Magelang Regency as an implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. This curriculum requires educators to provide learning that is tailored to the needs, interests and abilities of students. Partners in this activity are 32 teachers from SDN 1 Payaman and SDN Madusari. Most teachers do not understand in depth the concept of learning. The activity method consists of three main stages, namely preparation, implementation and evaluation. In the preparation stage, the team first analyzes training needs by conducting interviews with teachers. Then, at the implementation stage, activities include delivering material on the basics of differentiated learning, group discussions and micro-teaching practices. The evaluation results showed an increase in the average score from 43.33 on the pretest to 81.90 on the posttest. This training makes a positive contribution in preparing teachers to implement differentiated learning according to students' interests and needs so that students can develop competencies according to expectations.

PENINGKATAN DAYA SAING UMKM MELALUI STRATEGI BRANDING YANG EFEKTIF DAN INOVATIF

Enhancing the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is a key focus in supporting national economic growth. This community service program aims to provide training and guidance for MSME actors on effective and innovative branding strategies to improve their ability to compete in local and national markets. The program is a collaboration between Gunadarma University and the Indonesian Association of Young Lecturers (ADMI), conducted during the PTA 2024/2025 academic year through online and offline sessions. The program integrates the university's expertise in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), involving four faculties and ten related disciplines, such as information systems, accounting, and communication studies. The training includes digital branding, brand identity management, and technology-based marketing strategies. This program is expected to enhance the skills of MSME actors in building competitive brands and produce outputs such as scientific publications, activity documentation, and increased lecturer participation in community service initiatives.

Pelatihan Pengenalan SFA (Stochastic Frontier Analysis) Dengan Software Frontier 4.1c di Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Trunojoyo Madura

This community service aims to provide training for students and lecturers of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Trunojoyo Madura, specific training on using the Frontier 4.1c software. The software is used to analyze problems related to efficiency measurement using a stochastic approach, commonly referred to as SFA (Stochastic Frontier Analysis). The training is conducted online. The participants are equipped with knowledge of production theory, basic SFA theory, inputting data and the running of the data, as well as result interpretation. The method used in this community service is EAR (Educational Action Research) to address the issue of participants' lack of understanding of SFA. This training benefits participants, most of whom are students, by providing them with proficiency in using software for efficiency measurement using the stochastic (SFA) approach.

PENINGKATAN KOMPETENSI PELAKU UMKM DALAM STRATEGI BRANDING BERBASIS TEKNOLOGI

This community service program aims to provide training and guidance for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in implementing technology-based branding strategies. The activity is a collaboration between Gunadarma University and the Indonesian Young Lecturers Association (ADMI), conducted throughout the PTA 2024-2025 academic year. The program employs a hybrid implementation method (online and offline), tailored to the needs of MSMEs. The primary focus of this program is to enhance MSMEs’ understanding and skills in utilizing technology for digital branding, covering creative content creation, social media utilization, and market target analysis using digital tools. This initiative involves six fields of study—Accounting, Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, and English Literature—to provide a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach. The expected outcomes include improving MSMEs' competencies in building a strong brand identity, managing digital branding campaigns, and expanding market reach through technology. Program outputs include journal publications, activity documentation in the form of videos, and increased lecturer participation. All program results will be reported to Gunadarma University’s Community Service Institution (LPM-UG) as part of program evaluation.

Pendampingan Sertifikasi Halal Umkm Sektor Makanan dan Minuman di Desa Panempan Pamekasan

Halal certification is a crucial component in the food and beverage industry, particularly for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) within this sector. Certification influences the formulation and ingredients of food items, consequently enhancing customer awareness of products that adhere to food and halal standards. The Halal Information System (SIHALAL) is a platform intended to optimise the halal certification process for MSME food and beverage enterprises. MSME participants in the region continue to have challenges in accessing and inputting data into the SIHALAL portal. This community service program aims to enhance the comprehension of MSMEs in Panempan Village about the assistance offered by MSME stakeholders in the halal certification registration process via the SIHALAL application. The methodology used include interviews and direct observation, including multiple phases: issue identification, planning, and execution. This community service program resulted in support for halal certification and the identification of halal items to enhance MSMEs' awareness in Panempan Village on the significance of acquiring halal certificates in the food industry. Support services for NIB registration and halal certification use the SIHALAL application. Two MSMEs achieved halal certification with the SIHALAL application throughout the certification process.

Peningkatan Keterampilan Digital Mahasiswa Program Pascasarjana Universitas Baturaja dalam Mendukung Pembelajaran Era 4.0

The era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 demands skilled digital skills, including in the academic environment. Baturaja University Postgraduate Program students face challenges in utilizing digital technology to support more effective and efficient learning. This Community Service activity aims to improve the digital skills of Postgraduate Program students in optimizing learning platforms, managing academic data, and utilizing other supporting technologies. The methods used include interactive training, group discussions, and hands-on simulations. The material includes an introduction to digital technology, strategies for using learning applications, and digital-based information management skills. This activity involved initial and post-training skill evaluations to measure the improvement of participants' competencies. Results show a significant improvement in students' understanding and skills, especially in utilizing learning applications such as Learning Management System (LMS), virtual conference platform, and online collaboration tools. Participants were also able to manage learning materials more effectively and creatively. In conclusion, the improvement of digital skills directly contributes to students' ability to support technology-based learning processes in the 4.0 era. This program demonstrates the importance of strengthening digital competencies to address future academic and professional needs.
