A method of autonomous determination of object location latitude by one-component analytical gyroscopic compass in static mode using a single gyroscopic angular velocity sensor is reviewed. A scheme of scanning one-component analytical gyroscopic compass is selected that additionally provides the vertical direction of the input axis of the angular velocity sensor during the scanning process. Algorithms are developed to make the calculation invariant to zero offset and scale factor of the angular velocity sensor under the conditions of triple measurements of its output characteristics and also invariant to azimuth angle of the initial position of the input axis of the angular velocity sensor during the scanning under the condition of quadruple measurements. A general estimation of errors of autonomous determination of latitude by the one-component analytical gyroscopic compass is provided.
