Graduating senior nursing students (GSNS) are expected to be ready for practice (RFP) upon graduation as they enter the workforce. Skills such as assessment, communication, and clinical reasoning are important because of high patient acuity and longer hospital stays. Therefore, nurse educators must provide teaching-learning strategies that enhance RFP for GSNS. Two authentic experiences which provide opportunities to improve clinical reasoning and promote RFP include senior practicum and complex multipatient simulation.
