term well-being is a concept borrowed from positive psychology and has no consensual definition. It is generally used within the research literature as an over-arching concept regarding the quality of people's lives (QOL). International Well-being Group (IWG) in 2013 stated that, The quality of life (QOL) construct has a complex composition, so it is not surprising that there is neither an agreed definition nor a standard form of measurement.Being a multidimensional phenomenon, it can be measured by objective as well as subjective indicators. Objective measures are external and quantifiable conditions which include social indicators like poverty, income, infant mortality rates and so on. second category includes measures of subjective well-being which refers to an of well-being that is performed by the individual themselves (Strappazzon, 2001, p. 97, as cited in Hanafin & Brooks, 2005). Within the field of psychology the study of happiness generally falls under investigations of subjective well-being (SWB) (Diener, 1994). Tomyn (2013) states also referred to as 'personal well-being' or 'happiness', SWB concerns people's affective and cognitive evaluations of their life and personal (p. ix). Thus, subjective measures of well-being are internal evaluations of life circumstances and are based on the individual's personal values and opinions. It encompasses a wide range of components, such as happiness, life satisfaction, hedonic balance and holds at its core affective and cognitive evaluation of one's life. It is important to understand the subjective well-being in children. present study aims to do a of literature to understand this phenomenon as it occurs in children and adolescents.MethodParticipantsA systematic of literature has been done where both quantitative and qualitative findings have been evaluated. In the current review, Gough's (2007) model for the stages of a systematic has been followed (Figure 1).Review questions and search termsThe question is (a) what does the existing literature, Indian and International tell about subjective well-being of children? The search terms used for finding the literature are shown in the table below.Search strategyA comprehensive search of the published and unpublished national and international literature was performed using bibliographic databases, selected joumals, books and grey literature sources.Searches of the published literature were performed using the following databases from the relevant disciplines of social sciences and psychology as APA Psyc NET, EBSCO (Psychology), JSTOR, Directory of OpenAccess Journals (DOAJ).Hand searches of key journals and books were performed to identify further relevant studies. Copies of journals from the previous 30 years(1985-2015) were checked accordingly.A search of grey literature wasconducted to identify relevant unpublished works such as theses, reports, and on-going research projects. databases of grey literature were searched through Google, Google Scholar web search engine, conference proceedings and Dissertation Abstracts International, ProQuest Theses and Dissertations.Study selectionThe collection of references from the literature searches was carefully examined to identify if they met the inclusion criteria for the review. Following the study selection phase, ancestry search was performed on each of the selected study by checking the reference list for relevant earlier works, where possible.Study selection processThe titles and abstracts of the studies were evaluated in terms of the inclusion and exclusion criteria listed below in Table 2.Quality assessmentIn the present study, Gough's (2007) weight of Evidence (WoE) framework was used to assess the quality ofthe research evidence. Gough (2007, p. 10-11) gave generic and review specific judgement and combined them to give an overall assessment as shown in figure 2. …
