This study aims to investigate the relationship between Scrum framework and risk management processes in Malaysia. Companies discuss the management based on a concerned business scale and the influence risk management in Malaysia Information technology projects success. This research is targeting Information technology firms and technology projects. Were researched through guarantee inside and out comprehension of the postulation foundation. In the outcome segment, the author influences a few proposals for the case to small-scale organizations to actualize ventures and to develop risk management successfully. The phases of risk management, in particular the step of risk detection, have a detrimental impact on project performance. Furthermore, risk control has its own risks as a mechanism. This makes it impossible to know if risk management is an appropriate approach in the IT production process for managing and minimizing risks. Design and Development of Management Information System in Ma'had Huffadz Bilingual Darul Hikmah Malang Using Scrum Method

The scrum method is the most important thing in building software. The following research builds a management information system on Ma'had Huffadz Bilingual Darul Hikmah under Darus-Sa'adah Al Mardliyah Foundation. The institution, which is one of the Boarding Schools Tahfidzul Qur'an located in the city of Malang, East Java. The following research uses the Scrum framework. The implementation of the scrum method in the following research uses three sprints. The process of working on each sprint takes no more than a month. The software development in this research is web-based. Work on application programs using the Laravel framework using the PHP programming language. The results showed that the scrum method is very effective in building a boarding school management information system. Scrum is more dynamic, and the results of this scrum implementation can be seen from the system that has been developed. So that by implementing Scrum can produce a system that suits the requirements of the user.

Virtual Reality Mobile Application Development with Scrum Framework as a New Media in Learning English

<span lang="EN-US">Virtual reality is a combination of technology that are used to visualize and provide interaction with virtual environment. These environment often depict three-dimensional space which could be realistic or imaginary. One of the problem to build a virtual reality application is not yet available an approach as development lifecycle to build this virtual reality application. In this study we implement a software development project management approach which is Scrum to build a virtual reality application to be a new media for learning English. The goal is to find out how this system development approach is providing a new guide as a project management to build virtual reality application right from the project started, until the application is reach production stage or final release. Also in this study we using the unity 3D to create the virtual environment and C# as the backend programming language to build a mobile application which is made this virtual application is build using cross platform mobile development. The study concludes that mobile learning applications increase student motivation and place students as the main subject in English Lessons to support the teaching and learning process in an educational context.</span>

Scrum metaprocess: a process line approach for customizing Scrum

Scrum is currently the most widely used agile methodology. However, it is regarded as a framework rather than a concrete process. Unfortunately, the resources available on Scrum do not explicitly define its variable parts and do not offer proper guidance on how to resolve those variabilities. Process (re)configuration is thus left to Scrum Retrospective sessions; this can delay the vital decisions that can significantly improve the process before problems arise. This paper aims to address the problems associated with configuring/reconfiguring Scrum by identifying all the variabilities (variation points) in the Scrum framework, along with the situations where a variation point can be resolved by one or more specific variants. We propose a Software Process Line (SPrL) approach for achieving this: we have represented the process variabilities of Scrum as a Scrum metaprocess, which acts as the core process of a generic SPrL for Scrum. The situations in which each variation point of the metaprocess can be resolved by a specific variant have been identified. The metaprocess has been implemented in the Medini-QVT tool, along with transformation rules that provide the means for automatic resolution of the variabilities. The validity of the metaprocess has been evaluated through an industrial case study, the results of which show that the metaprocess is applicable in real situations. Furthermore, the results indicate that the processes instantiated from the metaprocess can improve the existing processes by proposing specific practices for addressing their shortcomings.

Simulation-Based Training via a “Readymade” Virtual World Platform: Teaching and Learning With Minecraft Education

Integrating information and communication technologies in teaching and learning is recognized as a relevant and promising practice. However, integration can be complex, tedious, and draining. We propose an innovative approach for enhancing teaching and learning in a simple, pleasant, and effective way: repurposing a virtual world platform to develop a simulation-based training. Minecraft Education, a virtual world platform, was used to develop a simulation-based training on agile project management. So far, 153 university students have applied the Scrum framework to execute a simulated project in Minecraft Education. Results show that students’ perceived learning is very positive and that their learning experience was stimulating and challenging. Recommendations are formulated to guide practitioners and teachers adopting and adapting a “readymade” virtual world platform for teaching and learning.

A Social Network Scrum Framework for Software Development under COVID 19 Pandemic

This research proposes a framework for social network scrum meeting that serves as an alternate means for work continuation under the COVID-19 pandemic. Conventional agile and scrum methods that require in-person meeting on daily basis, as well as scrum process become impractical under stringent ‘social lockdown’ mandates. To prevent any disruptive discontinuity, the proposed framework sets up an online meeting to replace the in-person stand-up meeting and scrum. Some supporting practices are also established to adjust both agile and scrum event flows that suit this online encounter. They are production development setup and social network meeting. The former offers industrial practices that are well entrenched and proven, while the latter has been used extensively in this digital age. The proposed method is tested with computer science student’s projects. Students are able to continue their meeting, discussion, and some outputs rather than being isolated with no fruitful outcome. The proposed method does establish some ground work to be explored for future software development environments that will suit to the imminent digital technological advancement.

ANALISIS KUALITAS SISTEM LAYANAN PENILAIAN BUKU PENDIDIKAN AGAMA (SiLPBPA) MENGGUNAKAN METODE SYSTEM USABILITY SCALE (SUS) DAN PENGEMBANGANNYA MENGGUNAKAN SCRUM BERBASIS WEB

SiLPBPA version 1.0 is implemented in the Religious Education Book Assessment Service activities. However, there are many obstacles and problems, namely that some system functions do not match the needs that support their activities. The purpose of this research is to conduct quality analysis and develop SiLPBPA. The methodology for conducting quality analysis is the System Usability Scale (SUS), and its development uses the Agile method with a Scrum framework. The results show that the system's quality gets a score of 71, which means the system is Acceptable, is in Predicate C, and with a good rating. However, some users gave some suggestions on the questionnaire. These suggestions are evaluated, which are used as the basis for system development. The results of developing using Scrum can be completed within 65 hours of the target time of 70 hours shown on the Burndown Chart. Some system functions can be completed properly. This was proven at the Sprint Review event, the Scrum Team and Stakeholders who attended approved the Product Increments that had been developed in all Sprints. So that SiLPBPA can be used in the next Education Book Assessment service activities.

Supervision of master theses based on Scrum: A case study

The success rate of a master program on Information Systems and Computer Engineering (MEIC) in a Portuguese university is very unsatisfactory, showing that less than half of the students complete the assigned work in their first term. However, the success rate of a group of students that were supervised based on the Scrum framework was much higher. So, in this study we assess the current situation and identify the benefits of using Scrum to manage master’s theses. Evidence suggests that this approach increases the number of students successfully completing their projects. So, this paper discusses the issues at stake and reports on a qualitative study with focus on the actual practices and benefits reported by students in the master program. We found that some methods in the Scrum framework can address existing problems in the development of theses with very positive results.

Usvajanje agilne metodologije za poboljšanje performansi IT projekta

Most of the IT organizations are facing various challenges such as technological advancement, new customer requirements, merger & acquisition, and changing market demands, which should be addressed to survive in the industry. For enhancing more value to the customer in the project, the best option is to choose Agile Methodology for managing the project, which helps to accommodate the ad-hoc business requirement than pre-planned. Though, most of the organization, especially in the IT industry is shifting to Agile methodology practice, which helps to enjoy the benefit of better collaboration and customer experience. The study was conducted among 404 IT professionals from the IT corridors of India to understand the influence of Agile methodology on IT project performance. Most responses received from people who have sound experience in IT project management which assures the quality of results obtained. From study, it has been found that Agile methodology (b= 0.630, p<0.00) has a significant and positive impact on the project performance. Also, the study proves that people who are working in Scrum framework (Agile methodology) improves the project quality as well as business value. Based on Stepwise regression results, Product ownership has higher degree of importance than other independent variable for the individual work performance which solidifies the requirement for software development. Multicollinearity Assessment shows Product Ownership and Development Practice have more impact on project performance than Team considered for the study. Previous studies didn't cover the aspect as well as areas proposed in this study to arrive the conclusion of Scrum framework for project performance, and it opens the pathway for future research work.

Boosting inclusive businesses' opportunities through the adoption of scrum: an execution strategy to enter low-end markets

As consumer markets in Western industries are saturated, the Bottom of the Pyramid has become increasingly important as a future mass market. Nevertheless, it remains difficult to adequately address the needs of low-income consumers. Approaches such as inclusive business have become more significant in both the literature and in practice. However, it is still unclear how inclusive business structures can be designed. Given the importance of networks based on local partnerships and knowledge transfer as key factors for success, this research proposes taking an agile approach to frame inclusive business approaches. Based on the Scrum framework, this study creates a conceptual model: the Inclusive Business Scrum Approach. Referring to the execution level, the model illustrates how inclusive business can emerge. It thus not only helps to address the 'how' of inclusive business, but it also considers topics related to the heterogeneity of partners and the composition of the team.

Building an outpatient telemedicine care pilot using Scrum-like framework within a medical residency program

OBJECTIVES:A good health care does not only depend on good medical practice, but also needs great management of its resources, which are generally short. In this sense, PROAHSA has been training new health managers since 1972. With the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was clear that medicine will go through a new phase, where telehealth will be present in this “Improved Normal”. This report is about how a pilot teleconsultation study was carried out for HCFMUSP patients through the Scrum-like framework. It is to deploy a pilot of remote assistance involving a doctor and a patient in the Ambulatory of Hepatology and Liver Transplantation of HCFMUSP.METHODS:We applied the Scrum-like framework to carry out this work with an interdisciplinary multifunctionality team.RESULTS:A full telemedicine service flow was implemented within eight weeks using existing infrastructure and resources implementing the Scrum methodology. Twenty-three teleconsultations were scheduled and eight guides built.CONCLUSION:Scrum framework has a great potential to improve the training of students and to conclude pilot projects.

ВНЕДРЕНИЕ МЕТОДОЛОГИИ AGILE В ПРОЦЕСС УПРАВЛЕНИЯ ЦИФРОВОЙ ТРАНСФОРМАЦИЕЙ СЕЛЬСКОГО ХОЗЯЙСТВА

Перевод на Английский. The article discusses the specifics of introducing a flexible approach to the management of the digitization of modern agricultural production in the context of the digital economy. As a result of the study of the digital transformation teams of various business processes, it was proposed to introduce Agile's flexible methodology into the digital transformation management system of agricultural organizations in particular and the agricultural sector in general. To do this, the modern Agile frameworks, which define the boundary system that organizes the workflows of the organization, have been adapted. Scrum and Kanban are proposed as the most effective frameworks. This will enable agricultural organizations to explore and identify viable agricultural markets, develop and improve new agricultural information products, produce new products and update them more frequently and with customer opinion in mind, and introduce and support cloud technologies in digital transformation. A scheme has been developed to implement sprints in the Scrum framework and a task organization board in the Kanban framework. The authors highlight the main advantages of the Agile methodology for each interested side of digital transformation, invited to use the experience of digital transformation of foreign and domestic agricultural organizations in the implementation of the Agile methodology. To train agricultural workers, the basics of methodology are offered to be trained in the "CDO- Data-Based Management" program, which will form a digital transformation team and train directors and digital experts. At the same time, the authors highlighted the main shortcomings and problems in the implementation of the Agile methodology, as well as ways to overcome them in the practical activities of agricultural organizations.

Implementation of Agile Methodologies in an Engineering Course

At present, a new generation of students is studying at universities with their specific abilities and skills. In addition to hard skills, potential employers also require significantly developed soft skills from their employees. The school, and not just the university, is entering this process in a different position than in the past due to the changing requirements placed on it. Activities in the school environment must adapt to emerging trends. This article explains how present-day requirements on graduates and specifics of the new generation of students challenge the approach to education. In order to increase the efficiency and attractiveness of the educational process, the SCRUM framework has been implemented into course Mathematics 1. The re-designed course was implemented and validated by an experimental group of students in the academic year 2019/2020. Two questionnaire analyses and a comparison of learning outcomes were conducted to find out the answers to research questions. The results of students indicate that agile methodologies are useful for increasing the efficiency of the educational process. The paper offers our proposal for the introduction of agile methodology into the educational process and our first-hand experience with this way of teaching and its impact on the studying results of the experimental group and, last but not least, suggestions for possible improvements.

The Role of a Web Portal to Facilitate Higher Learning Institutions Students’ Field Attachment in Tanzania

One of the approaches applied by Higher Learning Institutions to equip students with the practical skills is through field attachment in relevant companies based on field of studies. There are so many challenges in the process of coordination and allocation of students to relevant companies including expenses in terms of time and resources due to prolonged process involved. A web-based portal was developed to address the challenges for Tanzanian context. The development approach based on Scrum framework was employed to allow users involvement. To ensure information completeness, mixed-methods approach including key informant interviews, observations and requirements workshop were applied for portal’s requirements elicitation. The requirements determined from users were further used to guide initial interface designs which were then converted to clickable wireframe pages using pencil software. The prototype was sent to real users via email for testing and improvement suggestions before real portal development. Scrum development approach was employed where increments development progress were frequently inspected to detect undesirable variances. The portal was finally validated and tested for usability and indicated to have improved field attachment process and open doors for more collaboration between Higher Learning Institutions and companies. This study provides insight on the approach used to come up with the solution regarding current challenges. Moreover, the contribution that the research based solution has brought to the students’ field practices process is identified.

A Novel Interdisciplinary Iterative Approach for Optimizing the Electronic Health Record to Improve Perioperative Efficiency.

We present a holistic perioperative optimization approach led by a CI team with the goal to optimize the workflow within our EHR, improve operative room metrics and user satisfaction. The EHR has become integral to perioperative care. Many approaches are utilized to improve performance including systems-based approaches, process redesign, lean methodology, checklists, root cause analysis, and parallel processing. Although most reports describe strategies improving day or surgery productivity, few include perioperative interventions to improve efficiencies. An interdisciplinary CI team consisting of clinicians, informatics specialists, and analysts spent 6 weeks assessing users and optimizing all perioperative areas (scheduling, day of surgery, postop discharge/admission). Elbow-to-elbow retraining and simultaneous content development was performed utilizing an Agile workflow process optimization with the Scrum framework. This iterative approach averaged 1 week from build to change implementation. Pre/post optimization surveys were sent. Two hundred forty-two perioperative enhancements were completed. While most impacted documentation, all areas were enhanced including billing, reporting, registration, device integration, scheduling, central supply, and so on. FCOTS improved from <70% to >85% and total delay was halved. These parameters were consistently sustained for over 1 year after the 6-week optimization. While only 5% of pre-optimization users agreed to proficiency in the EHR system, this improved to 70% post-optimization. Furthermore, EHR confidence and acceptance improved from 40% to 90%. To improve workflow efficiency, all who contribute to the perioperative process must be assessed. This IT driven initiative resulted in improved FCOTS, perioperative workflows, and user satisfaction.

Agile-Concurrent hybrid: A framework for concurrent product development using Scrum

Agile development became very popular at the beginning of the 21st century when the Manifesto for Agile Software Development was released. Since then, it has been predominant in the software industry and has been increasingly transferred to the development of physical products due to its great success. There are many studies on Agile-Stage-Gate hybrids that combine agile Scrum and the traditional Stage-Gate model, however no research has been found that addresses a direct integration of Scrum into a concurrent product development model in a similar way. In this paper, we therefore examine the possibility of introducing Scrum into the concurrent product development and propose a Scrum framework for an Agile-Concurrent hybrid. We propose that the framework for concurrent development remains unchanged: the stages overlap and the track-and-loop approach is preserved, while Scrum is proposed for the execution of day-to-day work. The main advantage of the proposed hybrid is that after each iteration the customer reviews the results of an entire loop, not just of one stage, which enables a broader understanding of the progress and facilitates a more extensive feedback. A quicker resolution of discrepancies, and a faster and more effective response to change is thus ensured. In the paper, the needed organizational changes and potential implementation issues are also discussed.

Risk Mitigation Strategies in Implementing Scrum Framework for Internet-Based IT Companies in Indonesia

To date many Information Technology Companies in Indonesia implement Scrum Framework which is one of the frameworks that uses Agile principles. The implementation of the Scrum Framework does not guarantee that these companies will be free from risk, since many risks will also appear during the implementation of the framework itself. Therefore, risk management strategies are needed to mitigate these risks. This research is a qualitative research to manage risk due to the implementation of Scrum Framework in software development of IT companies, especially in Indonesia. Interviews have been conducted to the Scrum stakeholders in three IT Companies to gather some initial data to be analyzed further using Qualitative Content Analysis Method and Risk Breakdown Structure. Our finding show that there is 17 Risk Registers and their Mitigation Strategies for the implementation of Scrum Framework in Indonesian IT Companies. Furthermore, it can be used as guidelines for decision making about whether to implement this framework in their core businesses.

PERANCANGAN VIRTUAL ASSISTANT ENTREPRENEURSHIP MENGGUNAKAN METODE SCRUM

The birth of technology which until now is increasingly developing in all fields makes human work easier. Where services in the field of e-commerce and entrepreneurship can get information from a technology. However, there has been no development of a service information system for beginner entrepreneurs in obtaining information about entrepreneurship. So, the purpose of this research is the presence of a Virtual Assistant by building a chatbot to provide information to entrepreneurs through data that is already stored on the website system. In addition, experienced entrepreneurs can share information on the system. This design produces a chatbot prototype using AIML (Artificial Intelligence Markup Language) translated by ALICE (Artificial Linguistic Internet Computer Entity). This AIML function is so that the Chatbot is able to integrate the input results received in the form of text input so as to produce a conversation between the user and the program. The use of chatbots that are equipped with various information in the form of audio makes it easier for users to get information from a database system that is informed to prospective entrepreneurs. The Agile SDLC development method with the Scrum framework in this study helps system planning to run smoothly and is adjusted to the presence of artificial intelligence which makes entrepreneurs meet the information in starting the right business. The end result of this research, the system is able to motivate entrepreneurs, get information from an entrepreneur forum, and other tutorials about entrepreneurship.

Analysis of Maturity Level Project Management of Software Development In Scrum Framework: Case Research On Tribe Enterprise PT. XYZ

One of the most widely used product developments now is Agile Development Method. In Agile Development there are several frameworks, one of them is Scrum. This research examines the maturity level of software development project management that applies Scrum framework. The research was conducted using quantitative research methodologies using Scrum Maturity Model. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires to employees at a company that works as a Scrum Master. In addition to the data obtained from the questionnaire, interviews were also conducted to confirm answers from respondents. The interview aims to ensure the answers given by respondents are consistent with documentary evidence carried out through the research of project documents. Then the data analysis is done by assessing the level of maturity of each process in the Scrum framework using Agile Maturity Model (AMM) approach. The results from the analysis of Maturity Level Project Management of Software Development are used to provide recommendations for improvement to achieve a higher level of maturity.
