HOMO’S NEOLITHIC TRANSITION FROM CANNIBALISM TO AGRARIAN HUMANISM AND ITS MANIFESTATIONS IN THE ARCHETYPES OF UKRAINE AND WESTERN EUROPE

The study is determined by the needs of professional growth in the current conditions of the national educational sphere and the desire to find the most promising direction of the strategy of all civilizational development of the Fatherland and offer effective means to improve quality of life, combat pandemics and collapses. Therefore, the main goal is to critically analyze the predictions of the future for humanity as a whole and assess the usefulness and strategic direction of the main analytical materials of NASU on civilization choices and government decisions and plans for the next ten years. Specific tasks include the presentation of the author’s results in the analysis of Homo’s transition from cannibalism to agrarian humanism and the impact on modern archetypes that determine events in Ukraine and Western Europe. The methods are theoretically based on the fundamental laws of philosophy and combine the main achievements of the exact sciences and humanities. In the applied aspect, we prefer to take into account the latest developments in many young scientific sectors and promising areas we have opened, which we propose to call “nooscience”. We combine textual and infographic presentation of explanations and suggestions. The main results include a philosophical and ideological explanation of the reasons and features of Homo’s transition from cannibalism to agrarian humanism in the range of 15000-7000 years ago, proving the crucial role of the ancestors of Ukrainians and European farmers. The difference between our explanation of this Neolithic revolution and the attempts of our predecessors to emphasize industrial change is to prove the crucial role of inventing a promising worldview as a means of uniting the forces and intellects of thousands to defeat humanism and form a proto-Ukrainian and humane archetype. Its spread from the Atlantic to the Trans-Urals, its disappearance in Western Europe during the genocide during the years of the Great Trypillia and its further preservation in the zones of its influence has been proved. On this basis, critical remarks were made on the proposals of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the plans of the leaders of Ukraine. They ignore our archetype and mistakenly consider European post-genocidal models which are unsuitable for us. Conclusions and proposals include an emphasis on the orientation of the development strategy of Ukraine-XXI on the accelerated application of nootechnologies and the formation of the entire humanitarian sphere on the worldview paradigm of our ancient ancestors.

Updating means metaprograms in the titles of audiovisual mediacontent in popular science sector of video blogging

Trends in mediatization of various spheres of our life, accompanied by an increase in audience interest in video content, make the problem of studying the latter from the standpoint of the effectiveness of its participation in the process of internalization of scientific knowledge relevant. This process is complicated by such features of the network environment as the low level of professionalism of a number of authors, the active process of spreading pseudoscientific information, and the highly competitive nature of relations between bloggers in the network space. The first two problems are being overcome by bloggers as researchers note the professionalization of the blogosphere. The last problem is solved by the authors themselves inside the materials. To solve it, bloggers often resort to updating the key meta-programs that dominate the modern media field. The article analyzes the verbal means of emphasizing these programs in the Russian-language sector of popular science video blogging. Based on the analysis of the verbal level of the releases of the most popular YouTube channels, a conclusion is made about the frequency of occurrence of each of these meta-programs in the structure of the media text. The fact of the dependence of the degree of popularity of the metaprogram on the scientific sphere, which is the subject of the narration, is established. The conclusion is made about the dominance of the metaprogram “values” as the most appropriate for this sector of media. It is concluded that in a situation where scrolling is the basis of the user’s information behavior on the network, it is the titles of the videos (along with the preview) that stimulate the viewer’s interest, and metaprograms play an important role in this process.

Classification of Electromyography Signal of Diabetes using Artificial Neural Networks

Diabetes is one of the most chronic diseases, with an increasing number of sufferers yearly. It can lead to several serious complications, including diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN). DPN must be recognized early to receive appropriate treatment and prevent disease exacerbation. However, due to the rapid development of machine learning classification, like in the health science sector, it is very easy to identify DPN in the early stages. Therefore, the aim of this study is to develop a new method for detecting neuropathy based on the myoelectric signal among diabetes patients at a low cost with utilizing one of the machine learning techniques, the artificial neural network (ANN). To that aim, muscle sensor V3 is used to record the activity of the anterior tibialis muscle. Then, the representative time domain features which is mean absolute value (MAV), root mean square (RMS), variance (VAR), and standard deviation (SD) used to evaluate fatigue. During neural network training, a different number of hidden neurons were used, and it was found that using seven hidden neurons showed a high accuracy of 98.6%. Thus, this work indicates the potential of a low-cost system for classifying healthy and diabetic individuals using an ANN algorithm.

State-of-the art and perspectives of underwater optical wireless communications

In scientific, military, and industrial sectors, the development of robust and efficient submarine wireless communication links is of enormous interest. Underwater wireless communications can be carried out through acoustic, radio frequency (RF), and optical waves. Underwater optical communication is not a new idea, but it has recently been considered because seawater exhibits a window of reduced absorption both in the visible spectrum and long-wavelength UV light (UV-A). Compared to its bandwidth limited acoustic counterpart, underwater optical wireless communications (UOWCs) can support higher data rates at low latency levels. Underwater wireless communication networks are important in ocean exploration, military tactical operations, environmental and water pollution monitoring. Anyway, given the rapid development of UOWC technology, documents are still needed showing the state of the art and the progress made by the most current research. This paper aims to examine current technologies, and those potentially available soon, for Underwater Optical Wireless Communication and to propose a new perspective using UV-A radiation.

Not only is the structure of texts important in the language of science, but also the possible ways of expressing their individual structural elements by means of language. The material for researching the means of expression of the Latvian language of science is taken from the text corpus obtained in the project “Latvian language of science in the intralingual aspect” (2018–2020) using the program AntConc. This language corpus is based on scientific texts in the Internet environment (2008–2018) in all sectors of science and their sub-sectors. One of the important indicators of a scientific publication's quality is the purposeful use of previous research in own work. The article researches the formulations for the involvement of other authors’ work in the scientific publication and evaluates the comments related to their use. The thoughts, views, opinions, and conclusions of other researchers are involved in the text in various ways, but the most common types are quotations and retelling of the thoughts expressed by other authors, i.e. paraphrasing. The research of the corpus of scientific texts allows concluding that the references to the cited literature, sources, and authors are mostly used in accordance with the requirements of the style of scientific language and text format. A common record in these cases ensures objectivity, demonstrates respect for copyright, and prevents plagiarism. The collected material allows to judge not only the problems of the use of scientific language in one field but also provides an insight into the research of scientific texts in a broader context.

Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic on the Number of Research and Publications-A Review

COVID-19 is having a major effect not only on healthcare delivery systems but also on the science and research sector. The pandemic of COVID-19 immediately closed universities as well as colleges all over the world, amid government orders to adopt social distance, which could help to flatten the transmission curve and decrease the total mortality from the pandemic. Fundamental scientific studies have been especially difficult hit as a result of statewide lockdown restrictions, whilst clinical researchers have encountered similar difficulties as a result of the cessation of medical care and a sudden return to full-time clinical tasks. The number of publications on COVID-19 has rapidly and dramatically increased. This emphasizes the importance of collaborating with other medical research facilities in addition to intra-institute cooperation and collaboration. One method to modify the picture of clinical research is to incorporate additional innovation into the study's design.

SCIENTIFIC MECHANISMS IN CRIME INVESTIGATION:A STUDY

This research paper aims at highlighting the application of scientific mechanisms or measures in conducting crime investigation. The elements of the scientific investigation like forensic medicine, scientific laboratories, digital forensics, criminal investigation and other scientific techniques are discussed. The legal provisions in India dealing with forensic science although not explicitly, like certain sections of the Indian Evidence Act, 1872 and the Criminal Procedure Code, 1973 are described. Consonance with constitution of some methods of scientific investigation of crimes like handwriting and signature identification, fingerprint, impressions of thumb, palm and foot ascertainment tests, narco analysis tests are examined. The constitutional validity is analyzed in regards to article 20(3) of the constitution. The issues and problems existing in the sector of forensic science in reference to research, training, education, laboratories, etc. are discussed. Various measures that could be employed for strengthening this field and upgrading its contribution in the crime investigation are also analyzed.

Research Productivity in Emerging Economies: Empirical Evidence from Kazakhstan

The growth of the Higher Education and Science (HES) sector is positively associated with its research productivity and has a high potential in emerging countries. To explore such research productivity, this study offers a comprehensive analysis of the scientific literature from Kazakhstan. Our methods included descriptive analysis, network analysis, and author-based productivity analysis (by Lotka’s law) of 23,371 articles from Scopus, published during 1991–2020, and across 25 subject areas. The results of the descriptive analysis showed a substantial increase in the number of and citations to the literature since 2011 in almost all subject areas. However, the network analysis found that research in natural sciences was more developed in topical relationships and international collaborations than research in arts and humanities, social, and medical sciences. The Lotka’s law application revealed that the overall scientific literature in Kazakhstan did not reach its necessary stage of maturity. Additionally, some subject areas demonstrated greater contribution to the overall knowledge base, while others were less productive or lagging in their development. Our findings, useful for researchers and policymakers in emerging countries, can be exemplary in understanding the results of policy reforms aimed to improve the HES sector in emerging countries.

Bioart towards a New Concept of Identity

The speed made by science and technology in recent times, especially in biotechnology and genomics, has urged a lot of specialists in several areas, including the sectors of culture and science as well as artists, to respond to those changes. Which brought a significant cultural change changed our traditional understanding of civilization and our coping with it under the scientific and cultural amalgamation, in turn, resulted in changing the concept of art and its philosophy and aesthetics. Accordingly, a need for an artistic formulation has become urgent that could express the impact of technology on restoring the formulation of ideas related to human personal identity.

International and National Seminar on Fisheries and Marine Science (ISFM) is an annual event held by The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science Universitas Riau Pekanbaru, Indonesia. This annual event has been conducted since 2011. In ISFM X 2021, students and researchers with topics on the basics and applications of fisheries and marine are invited to join the conference. This conference cover topics related to the main issues on “Sustainable Development Goals”. In 2021, Indonesia and many other countries still facing the COVID-19 pandemic. This pandemic caused travel restrictions as well as gathering activities for offline conference activity.The virtual 10th International and National Seminar on Fisheries and Marine Science (ISFM X 2021) was conducted on September 15-16, 2021. The whole event was conducted through zoom meeting application. The conference committee invited 7 speakers from 5 countries, namely Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, and Taiwan.The seminar was attended by 349 participants; whether present in the conference room, via zoom, and watching live via YouTube. These participants were coming from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan, and Singapore. There were 130 papers presented and 97 papers were selected to be published in this proceeding. Those researches were findings in the sector of fisheries and marine science, including research on the COVID-19 pandemic related to this sector.The committee is herewith extending the thankfulness to all the involved persons who are actively contributing to the implementation of the program. Analysis of thermo-plasmonic lab-on-fiber probes in liquid environments

Lab-on-fiber (LOF) optrodes are recently emerging not only as valid platforms for biosensing, but also as promising light-controlled actuators in drug-delivery, optical trapping and thermo-ablation systems. In this regard, the thermo-plasmonic effect has been recognized as an intriguing tool for conferring to the optical fiber the capability of interacting with the external environment through the fine control of local overheating actuated by light in the range of few mW. However, the evaluation of the thermo-plasmonic overheating on small areas such as that of a standard single mode fiber tip is not trivial, especially in liquid solutions, where these probes typically operate. Here we demonstrate that by functionalizing the metallic nanostructure of LOF devices with a thermoresponsive smart materials, it is possible to measure the light-induced overheating on the fiber tip. Specifically, we monitored the plasmonic resonance wavelength shift induced by the temperature-dependent swelling dynamics of different microgel films deposited on the nanostructure. We find a local overheating of about 8 °C mW−1, i.e. also in line with our theoretical predictions based on numerical simulations. Our results demonstrate that the proposed approach is a valid methodology for the direct and continuous monitoring of the temperature changes in LOF devices induced by the input optical power in liquid environment. Our findings lay the basis for the analysis of thermo-plasmonic optical fiber probes exploitable in many applications, especially for the life science sector.

Rapid assessment of the biodiversity impacts of the 2019–2020 Australian megafires to guide urgent management intervention and recovery and lessons for other regions

AbstractAimThe incidence of major fires is increasing globally, creating extraordinary challenges for governments, managers and conservation scientists. In 2019–2020, Australia experienced precedent‐setting fires that burned over several months, affecting seven states and territories and causing massive biodiversity loss. Whilst the fires were still burning, the Australian Government convened a biodiversity Expert Panel to guide its bushfire response. A pressing need was to target emergency investment and management to reduce the chance of extinctions and maximise the chances of longer‐term recovery. We describe the approach taken to rapidly prioritise fire‐affected animal species. We use the experience to consider the organisational and data requirements for evidence‐based responses to future ecological disasters.LocationForested biomes of subtropical and temperate Australia, with lessons for other regions.MethodsWe developed assessment frameworks to screen fire‐affected species based on their pre‐fire conservation status, the proportion of their distribution overlapping with fires, and their behavioural/ecological traits relating to fire vulnerability. Using formal and informal networks of scientists, government and non‐government staff and managers, we collated expert input and data from multiple sources, undertook the analyses, and completed the assessments in 3 weeks for vertebrates and 8 weeks for invertebrates.ResultsThe assessments prioritised 92 vertebrate and 213 invertebrate species for urgent management response; another 147 invertebrate species were placed on a watchlist requiring further information.ConclusionsThe priority species lists helped focus government and non‐government investment, management and research effort, and communication to the public. Using multiple expert networks allowed the assessments to be completed rapidly using the best information available. However, the assessments highlighted substantial gaps in data availability and access, deficiencies in statutory threatened species listings, and the need for capacity‐building across the conservation science and management sectors. We outline a flexible template for using evidence effectively in emergency responses for future ecological disasters.

Does motivation matter in evaluation of research institutions? Evidence from Polish public universities

The ongoing internationalisation of economies more and more intensely influences the activity of the education and science sector—consequently, the pressure to achieve the institutional and individual goals increases. Given these circumstances, the authors of this article decided to identify the relations between the type and scope of motivation used at universities and the evaluation results of their study and scientific activity. The study was carried out on Polish universities among a representative study sample of 1303 academics. For the analysis of the results, correlation analysis, regression models and data mining techniques were used. The research results indicated connections between the level of the study being carried out with such motivators as working in conditions of high innovativeness, wide access to publications and infrastructure, allowing for commercialisation of the study results. The increase in the quality level of the study is also fostered by the support and help of direct supervisors. What is demotivating is the periodic qualitative assessment and unproductive relations with the environment. The study results filled the gaps in the knowledge on the relations between the motivation and the evaluation of the university and between the range and type of motivators used in higher education.

A New Creativity Agenda, Part 2

HOW MIGHT WE SHAPE a New Creativity Agenda that offers a creativity lens for transformation? How might a creativity lens advance or accelerate regeneration aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of Agenda 2030? Drawing from art, science and technology, a creativity lens reveals new ways to see and reimagine systems, networks and ideas. This is the lens of Leonardo’s network of networks. Applied to SDGs, a Creativity Lens encourages ingenuity, cross-sector collaboration and innovative strategies needed to solve complex problems of sustainability.Modeled after the gender lens and sustainable investing movements, a Creativity Lens articulates new success factor criteria previously undervalued, overlooked, or overtly dismissed. Gender lens [1] asserts that gender-based issues of equity, equality, access and inclusion should be considered as investment priorities, often indicating more effective strategies across asset classes and industries. Sustainable investing [2], which considers environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors in investment strategies, now constitutes one-third of all U.S.-based assets under management [3]. A Creativity Lens would examine how SDG-focused or aligned activities from any sector incorporate hybrid, cross-cutting creative practices or perspectives.As the SDGs intend to provide a roadmap rather than a fixed course, a Creativity Lens can augment that roadmap with new routes, visualization, provocation, empathy, critical inquiry and beauty. A Creativity Lens is not merely a translation device to illustrate, communicate or popularize the Goals; it is a filter through which we better assess progress and design strategies for regeneration and sustainable development. Vibrant creative sectors and integrated art practices generate qualitative and quantifiable value correlated with key areas of the SDGs: healthy people, community and society, economic growth and development; increased social equity and access.Because SDGs are interconnected and interdependent, let’s consider clusters of goals together as they intersect with creativity introducing a relationship between the 2030 Agenda for SDGs and a New Creativity Agenda. Connecting creative practices to the SDGs lays the groundwork for a Creativity Lens.These Goals intersect with Creative Economy, creative industries, workforce development, the future of work, embedding creatives across all industries.Food, health, water are frequent themes attracting attention of bioart and ecoart movements. Public and community arts are vital to the health and well-being of individuals and communities.Social needs and justice are supported by democratizing arts, science and tech sectors.
