PARENTS' ASSESSMENTS OF THE ORGANIZATION AND QUALITY OF RECREATION OF CHILDREN OF VULNERABLE CATEGORIES

Creating conditions for recreation and health improvement for children in Russia is a priority area of social policy. Special attention is paid to creating conditions for recreation for certain categories of children in difficult life situations and providing them with preferential vouchers. The article analyses the assessments of parents of children of privileged categories who have spent their holidays in children's recreation and health improvement institutions over the past two years. The results of a nationwide survey conducted by the Russian State Social University in 2023 were used for the analysis. Parents who indicated that their family belonged to the preferential category took part in the survey (N = 973). Based on the survey data, the authors distinguish groups of problems related to awareness of the opportunities to receive preferential vouchers, preparation for recreation, its organization, and the quality of services. The identified problems indicate the need to develop national projects for recreation and health improvement for children in privileged categories and take additional measures to improve the quality of recreation and implement state guarantees for this category of children. On the basis of parents' opinions, the authors have compiled a modal portrait of families of privileged categories that are most dissatisfied with their children's recreation. The results obtained can be used to improve measures related to the implementation of state policy in the field of children's recreation.

Psychological Safety and Communication Difficulties of Teachers and Students During Long-term Online Training

Due to the growing concerns related to the psychological well-being of students and teachers during a long and intensive online training, it becomes necessary for teachers, psychologists, practitioners to take measures to prevent threats to online communication and identify personal resources of psychological security in the online environment.The purpose of the study was to identify the communicative difficulties of long-term online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the personal resources of students and teachers that contribute to ensuring their psychological safety.The study was conducted in February-March 2022. The study sample included 132 students and 40 teachers of the Faculty of Psychology of the Russian State Social University (Moscow). The following techniques were used: “The test of hardiness” (S. Muddy, in the Russian-language adaptation of E.N. Osin, E.I. Rasskazova), “The scale of subjective well-being” (A. Perrudet-Badoux, G.A. Mendelssohn, J. Chiche, in the Russian-language adaptation of M.V. Sokolova), “Methodology for assessing the level of sociability” (V.F. Ryakhovsky), questionnaires “Difficulties of online communication” for students and teachers. The empirical data obtained were interpreted and processed using qualitative and quantitative methods of analysis, including: descriptive statistics, frequency analysis, Spearman correlation analysis. The study showed that during the long-term distance learning, students and teachers experienced significant difficulties in online educational communication, had low levels of subjective well-being, resilience and sociability. These personal qualities are systemic in nature, interrelated and can act as resources to ensure the psychological safety of subjects of education, prevention or coping with difficulties of online communication and hybrid forms of learning.The data obtained make it necessary for teachers to create psychodidactic conditions for a safe online educational environment in which students will be involved as subjects of education, will be able to freely share their opinions and not be afraid to make a mistake, will feel belonging to a group and protected from verbal aggression.

Professional Burnout of Faculty Members of Higher Educational Institutions

The article is devoted to the analysis of professional burnout of the academic staff of a number of Moscow higher educational institutions. This problem most often affects residents of large cities, due to the intense rhythm of the city and lack of time for personal life, wasted on the way from home to work and back. The empirical basis of the study was the results of a sociological study conducted by the authors in 2019 on the basis of FSBEI HE Russian State Social University (RSSU), FSBEI HE Moscow State Humanitarian and Economic University (MSHEU), and FSBEI HE Russian State University of Tourism and Service (RSUTS). The problem of the deteriorated psychological state of teachers leading to professional burnout is poorly developed and causes increased research and practical interest, and gives rise to the practical need to improve the development of measures for the prevention and avoidance of burnout. All the above makes further research activity highly relevant, and may be extremely necessary in some universities. This is evidenced by the results of the study.: It is of vital importance to take measures to prevent professional burnout of the academic staff and to develop a strategy for a teacher-based approach considering personal qualities and potential. The administration should consider psychological, spiritual, and labor characteristics of teachers for the formation and distribution of individual schedules of teachers. The Novelty of the study is in investigating the professional burnout of the academic staff of an institution in Moscow.

Innovations in social service (education) in state-church relations in the conditions of digitalization of society and pandemic

The purpose of the study was to identify innovative approaches to activities in the system of state-church relations in social service (education) within the framework of interaction between an Orthodox Monastery and the Russian State Social University. The interaction between St. Nicholas Chernoostrovsky Convent and Russian State Social University (RSCU) has developed from conceptual foundations to the formation of a training system for Orthodox media. This article is the first to identify innovations: implementation of a modular, continuous model for the development of orphans in modern society, combining the efforts of secular and spiritual education; unification of philosophy and worldview, both religious and cultural, in the context of the digitalization of society and pandemic restrictions; formation of a multi-vector model of education with simultaneous development in several professional (church) directions and (or) an increase in social significance; use of hybrid forms of preparation and conduct of classes in a secular and church educational environment. The strong point of the article is a systematic approach to the study of the problem and the identified innovations, which make it possible to improve social service in the context of the digitalization of society and the COVID 19 pandemic. The use of the results obtained by other researchers can serve to develop the system of state-church relations in social service (education) of different faiths.

Youth subculture and education

Educators, policymakers, and the public are often intensely engaged in youth cultures and practices. Nowadays, young people behave in irrational, creative, selfish, deviant, apathetic, generous, committed, tolerant, and many other, often contradictory ways. Educators should attend to widely circulating accounts of youth, because these often yield or buttress attitudes and policies that influence young people. The paper presents the results of a study of youth subcultures as an interactive form of self-identification and socialization of university students’ personality and educational purposes. The theoretical basis of the study was the scientific works of famous domestic and foreign scientists in the field of social sciences, education, and humanities. Research methods: practical and theoretical ones. The theoretical methods are analysis, classification and generalization. The practical methods are sociological survey and testing. The study sample consisted of students at Moscow University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia named after V. Ya. Kikot, Moscow State University of the Civil Engineering, Russian State Social University and Moscow City University. As a result of the data obtained, the authors of the paper designed a program of additional education for university students in the context of the development of youth subcultures. The designed program is directed towards the interaction of youth subcultures and institutions of higher education. As a result of the testing of the program at the aforesaid institutions of higher professional education, the effectiveness of its introduction into the educational process has been proved.

Специфика социально-психологических технологий повышения волевой саморегуляции студентов-стрелков (на примере тира Российского государственного социального университета)

The specificity of socio-psychological technologies for increasing volitional self-regulation of students-shooters of the shooting range of the Russian State Social University has been determined. The socio-psychological technologies used for the development of volitional self-regulation of studentsshooters (information blocks, active forms of work – exercises and games, psychological modeling and playing and analysis of various situations) during the course of classes contributed to the achievement of the goal to an insignificant extent. However, raw scores make it possible to conclude that active forms of work (exercises and games) contribute, first of all, to an increase in the style of self-regulation of behavior and its components such as flexibility, modeling, evaluation of results, planning, programming, and independence.

A study by scientists of the Russian State Social University, which examines the problems of limited demand in the labor market in the Russian Federation. The subject of the study is the labor market, and the object of the study is the supply of vacancies on the labor market by young job seekers. The study is based on previous studies of the essence of the labor market phenomenon within the framework of the postulates of the institutional school of economic theory.

The Role of Social Networks in the Organization of the Educational Process and Learning

<p class="Paragraph"><span lang="EN-GB">The objectives of the study are to conduct a survey among students and teachers of Russian universities, which will determine their general attitude to the use of social networks in education; to identify the functions of social networks from the perspective of respondents; based on the results of both stages of the study, to determine the role of social networks in the educational process. Students and teachers of four Russian universities (MGIMO University, Kuban State Technological University, North-Eastern Federal University, Russian State Social University) took part in the survey. A total of 500 students and 100 teachers were interviewed. The results of the first part of the study showed that the attitude of students and teachers towards the use of social networks in education is generally positive. Both groups of respondents noted the advantages of introducing social networks into the educational process and also stated their willingness to increase their use. When using social networks in education, students can fill in special forms to indicate social network accounts to be subsequently used. Also, the administration of group chats can be taken under the control of the university for the purpose of a more structured exchange of information/educational materials.</span><strong></strong></p>

The article reflects the main stages of the formation of additional professional education. The authors analyze Russian and foreign scientific works, provide normative legal sources, and reveal the role of education as an element of continuous adult education. The article evaluates the current socioeconomic conditions for the reproduction of the professional educational potential of the society, using the example of the organization of professional education by employees of the penal system, as well as monitoring the quality of educational services provided in the Russian State Social University, according to the results of which the authors identified the need to develop new approaches to assessing the quality of additional professional programs. Based on the results of the study, the authors propose to optimize the system of additional professional education by improving the regulatory framework and requirements for the structure and content of programs.

Удовлетворенность выпускников вуза качеством образования как ориентир оптимизации образовательного процесса

The article is a generalization and analysis of some of the results of the monitoring of the satisfaction of graduates of the Russian State Social University, conducted in 2020. The results of similar monitoring carried out in other higher educational institutions are also considered. The article pays great attention to the relationship of various factors of graduates' satisfaction, corresponding to the prospects for improving the educational process based on the results of monitoring studies. The article may be of interest both for researchers of the educational process in universities and for a wide range of specialists in the field of university pedagogy.

The diagnostic of accessible university environment

The education institutions, ensuring implementation of the rights of the disabled to higher education, adapt their environment to their needs. The universities, to organize such an accessible environment, as a rule, apply formal approach, focusing on regulatory requirements. The certification of accessible environment for the disabled is based on the same approach, when only objective indicators are considered. The opinion of those ones who have to use this environment is not taken into account. As a result, the University environment is formally considered accessible, but in practice it has many barriers that create real difficulties for disabled students. To improve the quality of the available environment, a combination of objective and subjective indicators is necessary. We need to analyze the opinions of people: employees, teachers, and students of an educational institution who use the possibilities of an accessible environment. The article offers method to diagnose availability of the University environment using specific set of indices that allow to give subjective assessment of availability of the University environment. The diagnostic method was tested on the basis of the Russian state social University, which is the flagship of inclusive education. The results of the study permitted to identify the causes of dissatisfaction with the state of accessible environment by employees, teachers and students.

University graduate satisfaction profile as an education quality criterion

Research background: Despite a fairly long tradition of measuring students’ assessment of the quality of obtained university education, there are still many unresolved issues in this area. The aim of the study: to theoretically substantiate the concept of a profile of graduates’ satisfaction with university educational programs including several parameters. The satisfaction profile serves as a criterion of the quality of education, at the same time reflecting students’ subjective assessment of the learning outcomes received at the university that they correlate with their expectations at the stage of admission. The concept is proposed in association with the monitoring of university graduates’ satisfaction with educational programs developed and tested as part of the research work at the Russian State Social University. Methods: graduate satisfaction is assessed using quantitative (questionnaires, the results of which are processed in SPSS) and qualitative (interviews) research methods. The proposed and tested method for the assessment of university graduates’ satisfaction with educational programs can serve as a basis for the development of university systems for monitoring graduates’ satisfaction with educational programs and education quality management and the satisfaction profile can become a universal criterion of education quality assessment not only in Russian but also in foreign universities. Results and novelty: The novelty and significance of the study results lie in the fact that the rating of educational process factors significant for graduates’ satisfaction provides information that can be used for successfully placing the direction of training in the market of educational services. Moreover, two ratings of the importance of the identified factors are constructed. The first one reflects the respondents’ direct assessment that can be used in advertising and information campaigns in the market of educational services. The second rating shows indirect assessment providing a more adequate image of the real impact of various factors on graduates’ satisfaction with educational programs; the results of this rating can be used in the intra-university quality management.

Social networking service in oral history research and education project

This article describes the experience of supplementing conventional Learning Management Systems (LMS) with Social Networking Service (SNS) aiming at analysis of historical memory of the Soviet past using the method of Oral History by Paul Thompson (1935). Opportunities of the Russian social network, VKontakte, were used for execution of research and education project: Family Memory of the Soviet Past (2014-2020) for students specializing in Culturology at Russian State Social University on the basis of Memory Studies and Oral History theories. This article presents the main educational and scientific results of the project. Using the SNS, the practical component of humanitarian education was implemented; the VKontakte project activity allowed involving student groups in researching; transcripts and photos were collected in digital archive, analysis and discussion were performed. The VKontakte network group demonstrated opportunities of international student research in post-Soviet countries, allowed students to master practical skills of acquisition and analysis of empirical data, as well as became an identification factor of a student group as a part of scientific community.

On the issue of analyzing the university strategy in the framework of digital distance learning

The qualitative and quantitative changes taking place at the present stage of the Russian educational services market development have led to a shift in the emphasis on the competition between higher education institutions and their educational services. Universities are improving the educational services quality by promoting novel or more competitive products in an increasingly tough competition for applicants. The authors suggest that to improve the promotion effect of the university educational services, it is necessary to carry out monitoring of the existing program efficiency, whose first stage is to analyze the existing strategy within the framework of digital distance learning, as the most popular learning method in contemporary conditions, which is gaining increasing popularity. A sociological survey (questionnaire) was chosen as a research method. The respondents were 250 students and teachers of the Russian State Social University (RSSU). The study has revealed that the vast majority, namely, about 87% of respondents, refused to fully switch to digital distance learning. However, 80% of undergraduate students and 75% of graduate master’s students of the extramural education department (75%) supported the use of digital distance learning in the educational process. At the same time, the low quality of training programs used in digital distance learning and the lack of individual adaptation of educational materials to the requirements and capabilities of the student require introducing interactivity into the materials and creating competent content of training programs, which is one of the indicators that affect the choice of an educational institution by potential consumers of educational services.

Выраженность ситуативной и личностной тревожности у студентов вуза с ОВЗ и инвалидностью в период пандемии

The paper presents the results of a study of situational and personal anxiety among university students with disabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic (Spring 2020). The study involved 35 students with disabilities from Russian State Social University aged 18—26 (21 men and 14 women). We used 2 questionnaires for measuring anxiety: Spielberger State-Trait Anxiety Inventory and Taylor Manifest Anxiety Scale. The results allowed us to make conclusions about the increased level of situational anxiety, as well as about pronounced personal anxiety in the studied category of students. The study has practical importance for the organization of psychological sup- port for students with disabilities at the university.

Benefits and risks of switching to distance learning in a pandemic

Introduction. The need to maintain social isolation in the spread of COVID-19 required educational organizations to implement accelerated measures to introduce distance learning. The purpose of this study is to assess the level of adaptation of students from Russian universities to new educational practices, the benefits and risks of distance learning in the COVID-19 pandemic. Materials and methods. The study was conducted from May to early July 2020 in the form of a questionnaire survey of senior students of the full-time and part-time modes of study at the Russian State Social University (N=146; girls – 58.9%, boys – 41.1%). Results. The results of the study show the success of students’ adaptation to distance learning; most of the respondents did not experience any difficulties in organizing the educational process remotely. Students’ problems relate to a change in the format of interaction with a teacher, an increase in the teaching load, an insufficient level of material-and-technical equipment of the workplace. The results of the study showed that in the context of distance learning, the emphasis in the teacher’s work shifted onto the demonstration of videos (27.4%). Only 9.6% of the respondents indicated that the teacher used business games at lessons; 5.5% – virtual reality technologies; presentations were mentioned by 1.4% of the respondents. Lack of “live communication” with the teacher, poor quality of feedback with him/her, decreased motivation and interest in learning are the key limitations of distance learning effectiveness. Students’ interest in distance learning is determined by such parameters as the teacher’s charisma (79.5%), his/her ability to keep the listeners’ attention (57.5%), the level of use of digital innovative technologies (72.6%). Conclusions. According to the research results, the authors come to the conclusion that the compensators of the identified problems can be: the widespread use of information and communication technologies in the educational process, increasing the level of interactivity of the lessons, flexibility and an individual approach in organizing training, the teacher’s personal interest, support for student feedback.

Динамика психического состояния студентов в процессе трансформации шахматной системы подготовки

the urgency of the problem is due to the need to find a model for the qualitative growth of training of specialists, to create a socio-cultural environment at the university that allows not only to form professional competencies, but also to influence the mental state of students, organizing comfortable activities with a high level of motivation for learning. In this aspect, the transformation of the chess system of training students can have a positive effect not only on the development of intellectual properties and personality traits, but also on the mental state of students. The aim of the research was to study the changes in the mental state of students in the process of chess training on the basis of the developed author’s concept of the international grandmaster I.V. Mikhailova. The study involved 3–4 year students of the Russian State Social University, studying the discipline “Elective courses in physical culture and sports” with a total number of 168 people. Students learned using a variety of technologies and resources, including Chess Planet, chess. com and chessKing.com platforms. To study the mental states of students, standard tests were used: SAN (Feelings, Activity, Mood), a test for loneliness by the method of subjective feeling of loneliness by D. Russell and M. Ferguson and a test by the method of Ch.D. Spielberger in Y.L. Khanin’s adaptation to identify personal and situational anxiety. The results showed that the teachers, based on the author’s concept developed by I. V. Mikhailova, generally note an increase in the comfort of the mental state, a decrease in anxiety, and an improvement in the psychoemotional state.

Technology for assessing students’ satisfaction with studying at a higher state education institution

The technology for evaluating student satisfaction includes conducting a social survey of students based on eight main criteria. Based on the results of a social survey, an assessment of overall satisfaction with studying at a state University is given. The introduction provides an overview of changes in regulatory and legal documents. The main goal of the research is to analyze the social survey of students. The article describes a sociological survey of University students, the criterion of "satisfaction with learning conditions". The evaluation criteria included eight main factors. 890 students were interviewed. Satisfaction and dissatisfaction were identified. The study describes students’ suggestions for improving the educational process in conditions of self-isolation, during the COVID-19 period. Each indicator was evaluated. Identified activities that Satisfy/unsatisfactory student learning. The strengths of the Russian state social University are revealed. The scientific novelty of the proposed research is a social survey of students "satisfaction with the learning conditions" during the period of forced self-isolation. In conclusion, the results of the social survey are summarized. The best quotes of students are given. There are useful links to the University’s information sources. International student exchange programs are listed. Countries for the exchange of education have been identified. In conclusion, the statistics of the analysis of satisfaction with training are given. The University trains students with disabilities. The University has excellent material and technical equipment and a virtual educational environment. The final review of training at the Russian state social University is positive. A natural science study was conducted to identify cause-and-effect relationships.

Удовлетворенность партнеров качеством социальной среды вуза

the article is devoted to the study of the quality of the social environment of a modern University. Indicators of the quality of the social environment were determined: the development of the social infrastructure of the University (medical care, sports facilities, food on the territory of the University, cultural objects and events), the image of the University in the external environment, working and studying conditions, and the quality of education. Based on the results of in-depth interviews with experts, the main indicators of the quality of the social environment of the University are analyzed. The experts were representatives of employers’ organizations and partners of the Russian state social University. The article develops a number of relevant recommendations for improving the social infrastructure of a modern University, its image in the external environment, and improving the quality of work and study. The research is addressed to heads of higher education institutions, specialists of ministries and departments involved in the development of educational and social policies to support higher education, researchers, students of higher education institutions, as well as a wide range of readers.
