Facing the Garbage Piles: Implementation of Domestic Waste Management by Village-Owned Enterprises

As part of efforts towards Indonesia's Free of Waste, Bojonegoro Regency implemented the Garbage Emergency program in 2020. This program includes strategies for waste utilization and determining the location of Final Waste Disposal Sites. Through collaboration between the Village Government and Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDesa), innovations have been created to address household waste issues. The domestic waste management program managed by BUMDesa targets the direct participation of households in waste sorting and storage according to its classification, with the hope of reducing the accumulation of waste that pollutes the environment. This research aimed to analyze the implementation of domestic waste management by Village-Owned Enterprises. The method used in this research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research focused on six indicators: policy standards and objectives, resources, characteristics of implementing agents, inter-organizational communication, socio-economic-political conditions, and the disposition of implementers, with data collection techniques including interviews, literature review, and documentation. Findings from this research indicated that the implementation of waste management programs in Sambiroto Village involves cooperation between the village government, Village-Owned Enterprises, and residents. This program aimed to reduce the volume of waste originating from households by actively involving community participation. However, the implementation of this program faces challenges, including limited resources and a lack of financial support from the community. The village government needed to improve communication and provide training for the community and personnel involved in the program. Additionally, providing subsidies or assistance to low-income communities can also enhance participation in waste management. With the hope that this program can have a positive impact on environmental cleanliness and increase public awareness of the importance of sustainable waste management.

The role of Ukrainian zemstvos in the formation of their public library space

This research into the participation of local self-government bodies in the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries in the formation of Ukraine’s public library space is crucial given the need to study the factors that influenced the creation of Ukrainian book culture, national consciousness, and state-building. This study aims to characterise the role of Ukrainian zemstvo self-government bodies in the establishment of the Ukrainian public library space during the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries. The research methodology is based on the principles of scientific rigour, historicism, sociocultural and modernisation approaches, as well as general scientific (induction, logic, analysis, synthesis) and specifically historical methods: narrative, historical-genetic, and structural-functional analysis. The cultural and educational development of the Ukrainian village by zemstvos, a component of which was their public library work, from the 1860s until the fall of the Russian Empire, was a major direction of activity of these self-governing institutions, upon whose success the national progress of Ukrainians depended. In this sphere, the foundation was laid for the future public space of the Dnieper Ukraine. The establishment, at the expense of zemstvos and through their organisational efforts, of public libraries with broad, free access for all village residents, alongside the development of rural schools, was the alpha and omega of peasant Ukrainian life at that time. It shaped the region’s book culture and elevated the social activity of the largest social class. Thanks to the democratic zemstvo intelligentsia, during the revolution of 1905-1907, demands were made to increase the network of rural libraries, cooperation between zemstvos and Prosvitas expanded, and the Ukrainian printed word became more entrenched. The emergence of peasant republics in 1905, one of which was in Sumy, where peasants published a newspaper declaring the tsarist authority abolished, against the backdrop of zemstvo achievements in expanding the network of public libraries and education, demonstrated that the early 20th century marked an intensification of public library development in Ukrainian villages. This period also saw the maturation of the national consciousness among peasants and laid the groundwork for the Ukrainian Revolution of 1917-1921, a pivotal stage in Ukraine’s state-building efforts. The study of this topic will contribute to understanding the role of local self-government bodies in the functioning of Ukraine’s public library space under modern conditions, national identification among Ukrainians, and their consolidation in the face of hostile invasions

Efektivitas Penggunaan Dana Desa terhadap Pengembangan Infrastruktur Desa dan Pengembangan Potensi Ekonomi Lokal di Kecamatan Tambun Utara Kabupaten Bekasi: Studi Kasus Desa Karang Satria

To overcome problems in village development, the government provides village funds. The form of use can be in the form of village infrastructure development and development of local economic potential. The aim of this research is to obtain an overview and describe the effectiveness of the use of village funds for village infrastructure and the development of local economic potential in North Tambun District, Bekasi Regency. The research methodology uses qualitative research with an inductive approach. Researchers want to know clearly about the effectiveness of the use of village funds in developing village infrastructure and developing local economic potential in Tambun Utara District, Bekasi Regency, especially in Karang Satria Village. The researcher describes the state of the research object and then discusses it to obtain general conclusions and understanding of the object under study. The results of this research are that the use of village funds for village infrastructure and local economic development in North Tambun District, especially in Karang Satria Village, was implemented effectively. The community gave positive responses and felt the benefits of the various programs that had been held, such as paving roads, providing public facilities, creating a drainage system, as well as adding facilities and infrastructure or office furniture. Providing village funds through BUM Des Satria Istiqomah has also provided benefits to the people of Karang Satria Village and its surroundings. BUM Des Satria Istiqomah has a permanent building and various economic improvement programs as well as business units that provide the best service for residents. In addition, there is the role of Mikro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and MSMEs at the sub-district level which oversees various micro, small and medium enterprises. Through MSMEs, mutually beneficial reciprocal relationships are created between entrepreneurs, village governments, and village residents.

The Implementation of Ternate Mayor's Policy in Handling Household Waste in Kota Baru Village

This study aims to elaborate the implementation of the Ternate Mayor Regulation policy in handling Household Waste. The research uses a qualitative approach with Edward III's theoretical framework on the analysis of communication factors, sources, dispositions and bureaucratic structures on the stages of waste handling, namely collection, processing, collection and the final process of residents of Kota Baru Village, Central Ternate District, Ternate City. The findings of the dimensions of clarity, dimensions of consistency and transmission in handling household waste have not been fully socialized and do not touch the target group in the community, there are still limited budget resources, Transdepot waste facilities, the disposition has not been effective and efficient, and the bureaucratic structure has not functioned waste handling instruments in accordance with the Ternate Mayor Regulation, and lack of public awareness weak innovation and bureaucratic monitoring.

Pemetaan Penggunaan Lahan Dusun Sukamaju Desa Natar Kabupaten Lampung Selatan

Natar Village is located in Natar District, South Lampung Regency which is divided into several hamlets, one of which is Sukamaju Hamlet which is a hamlet that is experiencing rapid development because it is a strategic area where there are several facilities. In recent years, there have been changes in land use in this hamlet, such as the expansion of agricultural land, housing developments, and other activities. To understand and manage land use effectively and sustainably, it is necessary to carry out comprehensive land use mapping. Therefore, the technical team plans to carry out land use mapping activities using Satellite Imagery. This activity aims to carry out land use mapping and understand land use trend patterns in the area. The mapping method used is an on-screen digitized guided classification based on 9 key image interpretations. The results of the service in Sukamaju Hamlet are a 1:3000 scale land use map product consisting of a residential area of 17.76 ha, plantations of 5.35 ha, rice fields of 0.85 ha, and a road length of 10,452.16 m and waters of 2,686.40 m. This of course influences the trend pattern in areas dominated by residential land. This land use map can provide the latest information regarding the development of sustainability areas in Sukamaju Hamlet for village officials and residents.

The Relationship between Spatial Behavior and External Spatial Elements in Ancient Villages Based on GPS-GIS: A Case Study of Huangshan Hinterland, China

Under rural revitalization and rapid construction in China, the mismatch between contemporary rural communities and villagers’ space behavior habits has attracted widespread attention. This study proposes and practices a design methodology for a newly built rural community based on spatial elements and their relationship with the behavior of local ancient villages. We explore the relationship between the two by applying drone-tech aerial photos, GPS, and ArcGIS. The results indicate that: (1) Ancient villages have abundant external spatial elements different from urban communities. Each space element of the ancient village has a specific function corresponding to the villagers’ daily life needs. (2) Village space elements are outcomes of the sociocultural process, and their topological structure is not random but follows their use based on hours of the day. (3) About 94.6% of space use behavior in the case of ancient village residents is associated with five space elements. (4) Updating the external spatial elements of ancient villages under the demands of contemporary life makes the application of spatial elements not only continue the villagers’ natural life process, but also satisfy the demands of the contemporary way of life on the external space. This study proposes the characteristics of the relationship between ancient village spatial behavior and external spatial elements through scientific analysis methods, which can provide references for contemporary rural planning and help to solve the mismatch problem between contemporary rural communities and villagers’ behavior habits.

Herbal Plant Education and Hydroponic Training of Vertical and Wick System in Limited Space

The program "Empowering the Community of Simo Angin-Angin Village, Sidoarjo through the Use of Natural Materials to Achieve Health Independence" was implemented at the Simo Angin-Angin Village Hall, Krian District, Sidoarjo Regency in May-June 2023. This Community Empowerment Program (Community Service) carries a preventive and consists of a series of activities, including counseling about the use of natural materials based on the recommendations of the Koran, considering that the majority of Simo Angin-Angin village residents are Muslim. This activity also includes training in farming using the hydroponic method. The aim of this program is to strengthen health independence in Simo Angin-Angin Village in order to improve collective welfare. The Community Service program in Simo Angin-Angin Village was attended by 22 participants, consisting of health cadres and the general public. The implementation is divided into 2 stages, namely counseling regarding the Black Cumin herbal plant and training regarding vertical hydroponic procedures, as well as the use of plastic bottles with the Wick system. The evaluation results showed that participants' understanding was very good, with 95% of them achieving a score of 100, while 5% obtained a score of 80. The evaluation results of participant satisfaction with the implementation of the extension showed very good scores for the topic material and delivery of the material by resource persons on herbal plant education and hydroponic training. This Community Service activity provides skills for the community to grow crops on narrow land using a hydroponic system

Implementasi greenhouse untuk mendukung agropark di Desa Tanjung Pinang II Kecamatan Tanjung Batu Kabupaten Ogan Ilir

Tanjung Pinang II Village is one of the districts in Tanjung Batu, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, which is currently developing its potential to become a tourist village through an agro-park. However, the process of transforming the village into a tourism and educational area for the community has not yet implemented technology. Therefore, in this community service, a smart greenhouse was developed and implemented in Tanjung Pinang II Village. The methods used in this community service included situational analysis, greenhouse construction, counseling and training, as well as evaluation, analysis, and conclusion. The constructed greenhouse is equipped with temperature and humidity sensors to measure the conditions inside the room. The greenhouse is built with a steel frame and uses UV plastic for its roof and walls. The results of the community service showed that the village residents and the community benefited from the greenhouse in the process of developing Tanjung Pinang II Village as an ecotourism area.

Diversifikasi Pengolahan Frozen Nugget, Pengemasan dan Pemasaran Google Bisnis

The Covid 19 pandemic which has spread throughout the world has had a very bad impact on the national economy, including the rural economy. Because economic activity in urban areas has stopped, production demand in rural areas has also been affected. By using ABCD (Asset-Based Community Development) approach, the objective of this community service is to increase the productivity and economy of Sugihwaras village residents by using several methods. The first is to increase the diversification of existing products while increasing the value of goods sold by the community. Second, increase citizens' marketing level to the next level by providing an understanding of online marketing. The third is to increase the community's basic financial understanding with financial management and basic accounting counseling. The results of the community service program showed that there was a very significant increase in the understanding of the participants on the materials that had been taught.

ENHANCING GOVERNANCE THROUGH DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

This research focuses on critical urgency considering the limited explanation in the literature regarding improving digital governance at the village level, especially in Penglumbaran Village, Bali, in the context of E-Government. This urgency arises primarily from the need to understand the practices implemented by village governments in realizing good governance that is responsive to the needs of all village residents. Meanwhile, the main objective of this research is to investigate and analyze improvements in digital governance in Penglumbaran Village, Bali, focusing on implementing E-Government and its impact on administrative efficiency, transparency, and community participation. Then, the descriptive analytical-qualitative method used in this research is supported by a desk study approach, where secondary data relevant to the research topic is used as the basis for analysis. In addition, through implementing the Online Digital Village Administration, Penglumbaran Bali Village has succeeded in increasing the accessibility of government services and strengthening village governance. It is illustrated in research findings, which positively impact efficiency, transparency, and community participation in government decision-making. Therefore, this research provides significance for understanding the effectiveness of digital governance in the context of E-Government at the village level. Thus, this research opens up the potential to support improvements in digital governance at the village level more broadly, aligning with modern government developments.

Women's Representation To Establish Anti-Corruption In The Village Government Of Kotaraja, Hulu Sungai Utara

The representation of women in village governance, particularly in the Village Consultative Body (BPD), is mandated by Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages. Fulfillment of this mandate becomes a subject of debate when the role is merely symbolic to meet the quota of women in village governance. In this context, the method employed is qualitative analysis, utilizing a socio-legal approach that highlights the complexity of social and legal dynamics influencing women's representation in the Village Consultative Body. The role of female representatives is crucial in enhancing the welfare of rural communities, simultaneously contributing to the realization of a corruption-free village. Additionally, they possess a unique closeness and empathy towards the issues faced by women in their villages, enabling them to gain the trust of the community. Residents of Kota Raja Village also perceive female candidates as being corruption-free and capable of fulfilling their duties and responsibilities, thereby earning trust from their respective neighborhood associations (RT - Rukun Tetangga). This situation is evident in the increased representation of women in the governance of Kota Raja Village, especially in the Village Consultative Body. In the newly elected Village Consultative Body for the period 2023-2029, 50% of its members are women, up from 44%. This figure demonstrates the positive perception of Kota Raja Village residents regarding the importance of women's representation in village governance. However, doubts persist regarding whether women's representation is merely symbolic and whether it reflects sincere efforts to empower women in village governance. Nonetheless, this raises further questions about the skills of female representation in addressing the complex issues faced by rural communities.and application within the framework of Indonesian law.

Incidence Rates of Risk Factors for Colorectal Cancer's Early Symptoms in the Community in Gondanglegi District, Malang, East Java, Indonesia: An Epidemiological Study

Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common types of cancer worldwide. CRC is most typical symptom is hematochezia while the risk factors encompass sex, age, genetic predispositions, history of colorectal polyps or cancer, chronic inflammatory bowel diseases, physical exercise, and specific dietary choices, including high red meat intake, fried food, and low fiber consumption. This study aims to screen the risk factors of colorectal cancer.Subjects and Method: This research was conducted on residents in the Sepanjang village, Malang Regency, involved in community service by the Internist Association of Malang. Community service was carried out in July 2023 and 148 residents were involved in collecting data on risk factors for colorectal carcinoma. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire with a cross-sectional approach. The questionnaire assesses the presence of symptoms of bloody stools and several habits related to colorectal carcinoma risk factors, including age, gender, exercise routine, and dietary history. Data presentation and analysis were carried out as in the table.Results: Among the risk factors listed assessed using the questionnaire, Men (p=0.021), lack of exercise (p= 0.008), consumption of fried food (p= 0.021), and consumption of instant noodles (p= 0.013) significantly affect the prevalence of hematochezia.Conclusion: Men, lack of exercise, consumption of fried food, and consumption of instant noodles significantly affect the hematochezia indicating CRC.

Immune Response to an Inactivated Vaccine of SARS-CoV-2 (CoronaVac) in an Indigenous Brazilian Population: A Cohort Study.

Although the adaptive immune responses to the CoronaVac vaccine are known, their dynamics in indigenous communities remain unclear. In this study, we assessed the humoral and cellular immune responses to CoronaVac (Sinovac Biotech Life Sciences, 2021 NCT05225285, Beijing, China), in immunized Brazilian indigenous individuals. We conducted a prospective cohort study on indigenous Brazilian people between February 2021 and June 2021. Analyses of immune responses were carried out before (T1) and after a vaccination schedule was completed (T2). Demographic data were collected using a questionnaire. We initially included 328 patients; among them, 120 (36.6%) had no SARS-CoV-2 antibodies. Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were collected from 106 patients during follow-up visits, of which 91 samples were analyzed by immunophenotyping assay to detect SARS-CoV-2-specific memory T-cell response. Post-vaccination, the levels of memory B-cells and Natural Killer T-lymphocytes increased. Bororó village residents, females, and Terena ethnic group members had higher levels of anti-spike IgG antibodies post-vaccination, whereas alcohol and tobacco users had lower concentrations. To our best knowledge, this was the first comprehensive assessment of antibody and T-cell responses against CoronaVac vaccination in indigenous patients. Our findings showed that antibody response and T-cell immunity against SARS-CoV-2 were present in most patients following the vaccination schedule.

Religiosity and gender bias structure social networks.

The number of studies examining gender differences in the social relationship rewards associated with costly religious practice has been surprisingly low. Here, we use data from 289 residents of an agricultural Tibetan village to assess whether individuals are more inclined to establish supportive relationships with religious individuals in general and to investigate the gender disparities in the relationship between religiosity and personal network characteristics. Our results reveal that participation in religious rituals contributes to the overall development of social support networks. The benefits to personal networks, however, seem to be contingent upon gender. For resource-intensive, infrequent religious rituals such as distant pilgrimages, males seem to benefit slightly more in terms of elevated in-degree values in their personal networks, despite similar levels of investment as females. In contrast, for daily, low-cost religious practices requiring ongoing participation, both genders obtain similar increases in in-degree values through regular engagement. It becomes more challenging for women to increase their status in communities when the effort invested in religious rituals yields smaller rewards compared with the same effort by men, contributing to ongoing gender inequality. These findings highlight the importance of examining the particular characteristics of religious rituals and the gender disparities in the associated rewards.

Strategy and Development of Gomara Nature Tourism, Simonis Village, Aek Natas District, North Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra Province

This research aims to determine the aspects involved in planning tourism areas in the context of appropriate tourism strategies to achieve successful tourism in the Gomara natural tourism area, Simonis Village, Aek Natas District, North Labuhanbatu Regency. The model for finding strategic tourism planning uses the SOAR (Strength, Opportunity, Aspirations and Results) Model, as another alternative to SWOT analysis, this model is a combination of SWOT and Appreciative Inquiry (AI) strategies introduced by Jacqueline M. Stavros. This model focuses on involving all stakeholders and all implementation integrity, to obtain data about Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations and Results to be achieved in determining the strategy and development of Gomara natural tourism. In this research, descriptive-analytic methods have been used, also library data, semi-structured interview methods and survey methods have been used to collect data. The statistical population of this study includes residents of Aek Natas Village, the Regional Government, NGOs related to Gomara natural tourism, Simonis Village, Aek Natas District, North Labuhanbatu Regency and visiting tourists. The research results show that there are great strengths and excellent opportunities for Gomara natural tourism, Simonis Village, Aek Natas District, North Labuhanbatu Regency. To achieve this aspiration. The government, NGOs, investors and, institutional elements, and local communities must have good collaboration to create a comprehensive tourism plan for Gomara natural tourism, Simonis Village, Aek Natas District, North Labuhanbatu Regency. such as: creating promotional strategies for the uniqueness and richness of tourist attractions, holding cultural festivals and exhibitions, designing websites, educating local people to make unique handicrafts as icons.

A cross-sectional study on sanitation and hygiene in rural villages in Southeastern Maharashtra: On our way to achieving the Sustainable Development Goal No. 6

Introduction: Sustainable Development Goal (SDG)-6 highlights the importance of clean water and sanitation. The Swachh Bharat Mission, a flagship program of the Government of India, aims at ensuring the availability and sustainable management of water, hygiene, and universal access to effective systems for disposing of waste, especially in rural areas; this, in turn, is of mammoth importance for achieving the SDG-6 by 2030. The present study was thus devised to determine the availability of sanitation facilities and assess the knowledge, attitude, and practices regarding hygiene among residents of villages in Southeastern Maharashtra. Materials and Methods: This community-based study used a multistage sampling technique to select study participants. The duration of the study was one month. The study involved 1663 participants. A Marathi-translated version of the pretested questionnaire was used, which enquired about the socio-demographic details, availability of water and sanitation facilities along with questions to assess the knowledge, attitude, and practice regarding sanitary latrines, use of footwear, hand washing, and domestic waste disposal. Association of socio-demographic profile with different parameters assessed in the questionnaire was assessed using SPSS software (version 26.0); results were considered significant if p<0.05. Results: The study involved 1663 participants with a mean age of 36.7 years, (SD=12.9 years). Water was available to all the households. All the villages had an open drainage system. Sanitation facilities were lacking in 23 households. Open-air defecation was practiced in 6.9% of the households. All the family members used footwear while going out in 68% of the households. Hand-washing was practiced by 43% of the population. Sixty-nine percent of the study participants disposed of domestic waste in the garbage pits dug in their backyard which was later burnt, whereas 31% disposed of in the surrounding premises. Conclusion: Open defecation still exists. The awareness regarding sanitation, footwear use, hand washing, and domestic waste disposal was better among literate participants. With just a few years left to the 2030 deadline to achieve the SDGs, we must inject a sense of urgency and immediately accelerate our actions at the individual and community levels.

Optimization and Renovation Design of Indoor Thermal Environment in Traditional Houses in Northeast Sichuan (China)—A Case Study of a Three-Section Courtyard House

The three-section courtyard is the most representative traditional residence in the traditional villages in northeast Sichuan. As a unique cultural landscape, it carries the local historical style and cultural connotation. However, the high temperature weather in summer leads to a poor thermal environment in traditional residential buildings, which cannot meet the needs of building users for human thermal comfort, and the wall is the most critical factor affecting the indoor thermal environment. Therefore, to optimise the indoor thermal environment of traditional residential buildings, this study designed four groups of wall renovation schemes according to the original traditional residential buildings and modern technology, and simulated and verified the feasibility of the building renovation schemes by using Design Builder. Then, the four groups of wall renovation schemes were compared and tested based on the Design Builder. Comparative results of the thermal-performance evaluation index revealed that compared with Case 1 and Case 2, the building refrigeration energy consumption of Case 3 in the hottest week was the least, only 427.7 kW·h, which indicates that the external wall renovation scheme using aerated concrete blocks had the best thermal insulation and energy-saving effects. The cooling energy consumption of Case 4 in the hottest week was 422 kW·h, which was 4.3 kW·h less than that of Case 3, indicating that the wall renovation scheme with an air inter-layer had better thermal insulation and energy-saving effects. The refrigeration energy consumption of Case 7 in the hottest week was only 409.8 kW·h, which was 4.19% lower than Case 3 (without insulation material), indicating that the scheme of selecting central insulation and extruded polystyrene board (XPS) had better thermal insulation and energy-saving effects in practical projects. In summary, the above transformation scheme not only improves the indoor thermal environment of traditional residential buildings, but also provides guidance for architectural designers on green, energy-saving and sustainable design.

Labor market in rural areas of Akmola region of Kazakhstan: regional aspect

The goal is to identify the features and determine quantitative parameters of the regional labor market in the Akmola region. Methods – analytical and statistical industry information is systematized and summarized using economic-statistical, balance sheet and abstract-logical methods from open access sources and scientific literature. Results - the features were studied and characteristics of labor potential of the region were given, analysis of absolute and relative indicators characterizing the dynamics of region's population movement was carried out, which made it possible to identify the main trends in its change in recent years. Demographic factors affecting the formation of labor force are shown. The volumes of socio-demographic load were calculated. Conclusions - it has been established that proportion of village residents tends to decrease both in absolute value and in the structure of total number. The main criteria are population migration and decrease in its natural increase. The reduction in the number of economically active residents of rural areas is explained by negative balance of difference between people who have entered active age and those who have retired, as well as migration processes that have their own specifics. It is noted that the level of the region’s labor resources is directly related to demographic development of the given territory. The deterioration of the demographic situation has a negative impact on quantitative and qualitative dimensions characterizing the regional labor market. The youth segment remains rather unbalanced, the areas of employment of young specialists are closely related to low levels of income and labor productivity, the persistent gap between professional orientation of youth and the labor needs of enterprises becomes one of the barriers to the employment of young people.

Transformasi Digital Sistem Pelayanan Pembuatan Surat Keterangan di Desa Cileunyi Wetan

The Cileunyi Wetan Village Office is a village service center in activities such as governance, empowerment, development and counseling. The Certificate Making Service System in Cileunyi Wetan Village is currently still done manually, that is, people have to come directly to the village office on working days and hours. A system like this is not only very inconvenient for officers because they have to input data every time an application is made, it is also inconvenient for residents because they have to queue and wait for a long time. Moreover, if on the day in question the village head is unable to attend/is away on duty, then the service will be delayed. The digital transformation of the certificate making service system is carried out using the object oriented analysis design model Rational Unified Process (RUP) method with the stages of Inception, Elaboration, Construction and Transition. This system was built using website-based PHP language so that it is easily accessed by village residents from wherever they are provided there is internet access. This digital transformation of the certificate making service system was carried out with the aim of optimizing the village service system for the community in the Cileunyi Wetan Village environment who need a certificate from the village according to the requirements mentioned above. The results showed that with this digital system, apart from being able to help make the work of village officials more effective, it can also increase effectiveness and make it easier for the community to submit the certificates they need.

Implementation of Fish Pellet Production Using Palm Kernel Waste in Merangin Village, Kampar

The community in Merangin Village, Kampar Regency, whose livelihoods revolve around fish farming, faces challenges in fish cultivation, especially concerning the use of pellets from factories, which contribute approximately 60-70% to the total production costs. To mitigate these expenses, an alternative solution is proposed by producing fish pellets independently using palm waste available in the village. However, many community members still lack understanding of the process of fish pellet production and the processing of its raw materials. Through the community service program at the University of Riau, a targeted technology transfer effort is conducted for the residents of Merangin Village to empower them in producing fish pellets autonomously. The primary focus of the community service activities is to enhance knowledge through integrated guidance on fish pellet production. It is expected that with the implementation of this program, the people of Merangin Village can manufacture their own fish pellets from palm waste, subsequently increasing income and establishing an efficient and sustainable fish farming venture. The implications of the community service program in Merangin Village encompass heightened knowledge in optimizing the utilization of palm waste for fish pellet production, thereby reducing production costs, increasing income, and effectively managing waste.
