Research of land use spatial pattern and its evolution characteristics is the premise to understand the causes of spatial pattern formation. It also is the premise to formulate reasonable land use direction and utilization measures. This paper proposed spatial pattern research of urban land-use based on patch aggregation theory. As a case study of Wuhan city’s residential land, commercial land and industrial land spatial layout development. Research method firstly establish patch unit characteristic index and aggregation index for urban land-use spatial layout. Secondly urban land-use patch grid spatial overlay analysis and neighborhood aggregation index were calculated by using ArcGIS software. Urban landuse patch aggregation index clustering analysis were processed by using SPSS software. The results showed that urban land-use spatial layout research method based on patch aggregation index could effectively combined the number of statistical and spatial analysis. Urban land-use spatial layout map of land-use patch aggregation index could revealed the spatial distribution characteristics and regularity of concentration and dispersion pattern for the major urban land use type.
