A Brief Discussion on the Problems and Reform Suggestions of Physics Experiment Teaching in Colleges and Universities

With the cooperation of physics experiment teaching and theoretical teaching, colleges and universities put forward three dimensions of experiment teaching objectives, that is, optimize the experiment content and experiment equipment, attach importance to the quality control of the whole process of experiment teaching and establish a diversified experiment teaching evaluation model, and determine the teaching objectives of physics experiment courses. Under the trend of education reform, the physics experiment teaching in colleges and universities is constantly innovating, developing comprehensive experiments and designed experiments, improving experimental equipment, and optimizing the test work of experimental courses. This paper discusses the work of physics experiment teaching in colleges and universities, analyzes the focus of the reform of physics experiment teaching, and probes into the specific strategies of the reform, hoping to provide strong support for promoting the reform of physics experiment teaching in colleges and universities.

Experimental teaching reform of polymer molar mass determination using gel permeation chromatography coupled with light scattering

Gel permeation chromatography coupled with light scattering (GPC-LS) is among the most common methods for determining the molar masses of polymers. GPC-LS is widely used in polymer science research and has been adopted for many industrial applications owing to its high sensitivity, accuracy, and precision. The determination of polymer molar masses using GPC-LS is an important experimental component of the "Polymer Physics Experiments" course. However, the present GPC-LS experimental teaching content tends to be overly simplistic and lacking in depth. Herein, the original experimental content is expanded and multiple sets of experiments are redesigned: (1) Using commercial polystyrene as an experimental sample, the molar mass, molar mass distribution, radius of gyration, and other molecular structure parameters are determined using GPC-LS; (2) Using two polyacrylonitriles with similar molecular structure parameters, subtle differences in the molar mass distributions of the samples are explored using differential mass distribution curves; (3) By comparing the chromatograms of a series of polyethylene glycols with different molar masses, the effect of molar mass on chromatographic peaks is investigated; and (4) For three different polymers (polyacrylonitrile, poly(methyl methacrylate), and poly(β-cyclodextrin)), the polymer chain conformations are analyzed using conformation plots (i.e., radius of gyration vs. molar mass). In addition, the experimental teaching method is modified to convert passive learning into active learning, thereby improving the students' self-directed learning ability. This experimental teaching reform will help students obtain a more comprehensive understanding of GPC-LS principles and applications, stimulate their enthusiasm for learning, and improve the teaching quality of the experimental course.

Multi-method integrated experimental teaching reform of a programming course based on the OBE-CDIO model under the background of engineering education

Under the background of engineering education professional certification, the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) education concept of “output-oriented” has been paid more and more attention. The traditional experimental teaching of programming course often focuses on the teaching of theoretical knowledge, and lacks the cultivation of students’ practical ability and innovative spirit. Engineering education puts forward new requirements for the teaching mode of program design course. The experimental teaching of programming courses requires further reform and innovation to cultivate high-quality technical engineering talents with good social responsibility, teamwork ability, and innovative thinking ability. Guided by the theory of engineering education combined with the educational philosophy of Conceive–Design–Implement–Operate (CDIO) and OBE, this paper carried out the reform of experimental teaching of programming course among students majoring in computer science and technology and information security. This teaching reform aimed to better cultivate students’ practical ability, innovation ability, and knowledge-integrated application ability, considering the course concept, course design, course implementation, and course operation, and exploring the practice of teaching process reconfiguration, teaching content organization, and teaching method integration. This multi-integration experimental teaching reform was found to fully mobilize students’ learning enthusiasm, tap into students’ potential, greatly improve students’ comprehensive practical ability, effectively achieve course goals, and lay a solid foundation for subsequent professional course learning. This teaching mode has been practically applied in current experimental teaching and is widely recognized by students, providing a reference for improving teaching quality.

Research on the Teaching Reform of Economic Analysis Methods and Means Experimental Course from the Perspective of New Liberal Arts

The construction of new liberal arts in China requires continuously deepening the teaching reform of economic experimental courses and giving better play to the application advantages of experimental courses. Anhui University of Finance and Economics is one of the early financial and economic universities to practice the construction of "new liberal arts". Although its experimental course teaching reform has achieved certain results, it is also faced with many difficulties. For this reason, this paper takes the teaching reform of the experimental course of the methods and means of economic analysis as an example, and makes a research on the existing problems, such as the construction of the ideological and political integration of the curriculum is not deep enough, the level of the development and utilization of the curriculum resource platform is not high, the teaching characteristics of the curriculum are not distinct enough, and the transformation level of the practical training achievements of the curriculum is low. Then it puts forward some positive countermeasures and suggestions from the aspects of improving the mechanism construction, integrating teaching resources, updating teaching methods and optimizing the assessment process.

Principles of Concrete Structure Design, as one of the main courses, transmits professional knowledge for students, enhances the students’ professional ability, and further carries out in-depth research on the course to bring a better teaching effect for students. The article mainly focuses on the research of the principles of concrete structure design course, conducts an analysis of the teaching characteristics of the principles of concrete structure design course, and reasonably sets the teaching content from the optimization of the course teaching objectives; innovative course teaching methods can deepen the effect of knowledge understanding; reform of experimental practice teaching can lay down the effect of the internalization of knowledge, etc. The in-depth description and discussion of the relevant aspects of the research aim to provide guidelines for related research.

Reform and Effectiveness Assessment of Accounting Teaching in Colleges and Universities Based on Multi-source Data Mining

Abstract The growing discrepancy between the supply and demand of new accounting professionals underscores an urgent need for reform in the educational paradigms within higher education accounting programs. This paper introduces a comprehensive proposal for educational reform in accounting at the collegiate level, using ‘A school’ as a pilot site for our experimental teaching reform. Central to our methodology is the design of a multi-source data mining process, utilizing characteristics of educational information data. Employing the K-means clustering algorithm as a foundation, we further develop a Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering algorithm to evaluate the impact of these pedagogical reforms. Subsequent to the reform, we collected and analyzed teaching data, establishing specific assessment metrics. The analysis, conducted via clustering, revealed significant improvements. Prior to the reform, the experimental class scored an average of 62.89, compared to the control class’s 63.05. Post-reform, the experimental class’s performance elevated to 74.57, while the control class saw a more modest increase to 65.14. This marked enhancement in the experimental class’s performance underscores the efficacy of the reform, aligning with our educational objectives, which anticipate an 80% qualification rate and a 42% excellence rate among accounting majors. This study not only advances the theoretical framework but also refines the practical approaches to cultivating accounting talent in collegiate settings. It offers valuable insights and serves as a reference for future reforms in accounting education at universities.

Exploration and practice of innovative teaching of molecular biology experiment course under the context of new agricultural science

The development of new agricultural science is a new idea and a new measure that aims to deepen the reform of higher education in agriculture and forestry for the development of new agriculture, new countryside, new farmers and new ecosystem. It is therefore essential for the current undergraduate experimental teaching reform to timely introduce new technologies and new methods used in the development of agriculture and forestry industry into the experimental course teaching, and promote the integration of professional education with innovation and entrepreneurship education, according to the requirements of the new agricultural science. In view of this, the exploration and practice of molecular biology experiment course was carried out from the perspective of experimental projects, teaching modes and evaluation methods, according to the teaching requirements and characteristics of molecular biology experiment and teachers' scientific research achievements. The results showed that this reform greatly improved the students' comprehensive quality and innovation ability and may facilitate the innovation experiment teaching of other courses.

Teaching Design and Discussion of the Experimental Course of "Biogas Production and Utilization Engineering" based on the Ideological and Political Education

Practice teaching occupied an important position in higher education. The experiment program of "Gas chromatography analysis of fermentation gas composition" included in the course of “Biogas Production and Utilization Engineering” in the major of the new energy science and engineering is used as an example to discuss the teaching reform based on the ideological and political education. Through deep exploration of ideological and political elements of the curriculum, the ideological and political teaching concepts including realistic scientific literacy, rule consciousness and safety production consciousness, engineering ethics and legal consciousness are formed as the main content and are further integrated into the teaching design. The experimental teaching reform serves the talent training goal of the major, which is to cultivate engineering and technical talent with both moral and ability in the relevant fields of new energy.

Preparation, Characterization and Application of Novel Photocatalytic Two-Dimensional Material Membrane: A Reform of Comprehensive Experimental Teaching

Recently, two-dimensional materials (2DM) have garnered considerable interest in the field of membrane separation owing to their distinctive microstructure and chemical properties. However, membrane fouling still limits the further application of 2DM in wastewater treatment. This work designed and constructed a series of novel composite membranes by introducing the photocatalyst NH2-MIL-88B (Fe) into the structure of 2D material MXene (Ti3C2TX) nanosheets. The membranes not only improved their ability to remove various dyes from wastewater but also achieved in-situ degradation of pollutants on the membrane surface and inner structure, demonstrating its self-cleaning ability. This work solved the critical technical problem of MXene-based membrane fouling, providing a good reference for its further practical application. In addition, it also developed a comprehensive experiment that involves principles of materials science, chemical separation, and environmental protection. By reforming the original experimental design, it is helpful for college students to master interdisciplinary basic knowledge, cultivating their innovation and practical ability. Hence, this work involves approaches is meaningful for both environmental protection and experimental teaching.

Comprehensive Evaluation of Online Experimental Teaching Quality in Colleges and Universities Based on Support Vector Machine

Affected by the global COVID-19 epidemic, many universities in China have to carry out online experimental teaching. Online experimental teaching can fully realize retention of experimental teaching data, the maximum sharing of experimental teaching, and improve teachers’ ability to complete experimental teaching by mobile means through good network storage devices. Scientific and systematic evaluation of online experimental teaching quality can promote continuous improvement of online teaching activities, give full play to teachers’ teaching enthusiasm, improve comprehensive training quality of college students, and make online experimental teaching a new trend of experimental teaching reform. Based on existing literature, this study analyzes the factors affecting the quality of online experimental teaching, puts forward evaluation indicators of online experimental teaching quality, and uses support vector machine training evaluation system to establish evaluation model of online experimental teaching quality in colleges and universities. Experimental results show that evaluation indicator of online experimental teaching quality proposed is relatively perfect, and has good applicability and popularization. The method based on the support vector machine has improved evaluation effect of online experimental teaching quality in colleges and universities. Output evaluation results are highly consistent with actual evaluation results. Online experimental teaching quality evaluation results are very objective and comprehensive. Conclusions have important reference value for online experimental teaching behavior analysis, improvement of online experimental teaching quality evaluation indicators, reduction of online teaching quality evaluation errors, and improvement of online teaching quality evaluation effect.

Research on the Reform of Experimental Teaching of Food Processes based on the OBE Concept

Based on the OBE concept, this study takes the experimental teaching of Food Technology as the research object and explores the ways and methods of experimental teaching reform by formulating clear teaching objectives, selecting practical and relevant teaching contents, adopting diversified teaching methods and implementing scientific teaching evaluation, aiming to improve students' practical operation ability, innovative thinking ability, teamwork ability and comprehensive quality. This study has theoretical and practical significance for improving the quality of teaching and the reform of education and teaching. The shortcomings of traditional experimental teaching are analyzed, the problems are pointed out, and the ideas and methods of reform are proposed with the OBE concept as the guide. In practice, this study successfully implemented the experimental teaching reform program by setting clear teaching objectives, selecting practical and targeted teaching contents and experimental equipment, adopting diversified teaching methods, focusing on the cultivation of students' practical operation and innovative thinking ability, and implementing scientific teaching evaluation, and achieving good experimental results.

Reform and Research on Experimental Teaching of Functional Experiments under the background of national first-class undergraduate major

Objective: To explore the application effect of offline and offline hybrid teaching mode in functional experiment teaching reform under the national first-class undergraduate professional background. Methods: Undergraduates majoring in clinical medicine were selected as the research subjects. The 2021 level was used as the experimental group to adopt the online and offline mixed teaching mode, while the 2020 level was used as the control group to adopt the traditional experimental teaching mode. The teaching effect was evaluated by examinations and questionnaires. Results: Students in the experimental group had higher satisfaction with the mixed teaching mode, and their test scores were significantly higher than those in the control group. Conclusion: The teaching effect of online-offline mixed teaching mode is better than that of traditional teaching mode. It can cultivate students’ self-learning habit, improve students’ comprehensive ability of analyzing and solving problems, and effectively improve the teaching quality.
