A novel method for three-dimensional (3-D) imaging of the ship target is presented in this paper, combining the distributed inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) and interferometry technique, which is named as the distributed interferometric ISAR (D-InISAR). This method enhances the azimuth resolution for the ISAR imaging procedure and improves the 3-D coordinate reconstruction accuracy for the ship target. A novel D-InISAR configuration with a rectangular array is presented firstly. Then, the phase correction method is proposed to preserve the complete phase information for interferometry. After that, the 3-D imaging algorithm base on D-InISAR is proposed and a novel evaluation criterion is proposed to quantify the reconstruction accuracy. Finally, the numerical simulations of the ship target are presented to verify the effectiveness and the robustness of the proposed algorithm.
